What a great place for some quick tasty food. I do have to say the hard taco shell is too crispy and oily. The whole party enjoyed the soft shells much better. Killer«Surf Taco». Ingredients were fresh and the smoothy was refreshing. The service was also kind and fast. I would say the variety of sauces offered were good, but the buffet style is kind of gross. I wish they had to go made and to stay maybe a jar to pour source. The open dish just screamed for bugs, germs, etc.

Being from California I’ve been craving a good fish Taco. I have been to Red Bank many times and saw surf Taco so thought I’d give it a try. Menu behind the register was small and hard to read. I got a take out menu. We decided on Chicken taquitos, a Mahi Mahi taco, and a shrimp taco. We asked for no cheese. The Young lady asked it it was a dairy allergy. We said yes and she made sure none of the sauces had dairy. Very kind and Attentive. Service with a smile and a pleasure to order from. We placed the order to go. The taquitos were big. Full of white meat and not over fried. They were good. Only issue is they were served in a paper«boat» and wrapped in tin foil. So by the time we got home they were messy to open with the lettuce and salsa all over. The shrimp taco was tasty, I’d prefer corn tortilla and a little more shrimp. but now I know and will order it that way next time. The Mahi Mahi was cooked perfectly! Tasty. A little to much cabbage and not a fan of the pineapple on the taco. That’s a personal taste. Salsa bar was well kept and very good flavors. I asked for a side of fresh Jalepeno and they didn’t have any. Not a deal breaker. Food and experience was overall good. And I will def be back! If you miss California tacos and want something fast this is worth a try! Staff is friendly. Bathrooms and restaurant was clean.

I love his place. I always get the Surf Taco or the mango shrimp taco and it never disappoints. Everything I have tried on the menu is great. PRO– salsa bar. Fresh food. Great options. Good flavors– not your every day taco and burrito CONS– can be very crowded. I wish EVERY meal didn’t come with chips(when you order 2 tacos that’s a lot of chips)

Vegan tacos are great but the chips are not vegan. It is my kids favorite dinner spot in Red Bank. The food is always delicious and fresh. The salsa bar is great and if you like a chipotle flavor try the baja salsa . Can be really busy at lunch time. Use the app and order before you get there. It is very lively and popular with families and teenagers so don’t expect it to be quiet during busy periods.

I came all the way from Staten Island for the fish and shrimp tacos! Everything is so delicious! The salsa bar is the best!!! You seat your self after you order, surprisingly the place is always clean normally self seated places tend to be messy! Love the atmosphere, you feel like you in Hawaii!

I love this place. Their prices and their tacos are pretty amazing. It seems to be always crowded though. Also, I feel like they close too early. Red Bank has a decent crowd at nighttime due to their bars and nightlife, this place could benefit from staying open later.

I knew the surf taco before they expanded their franchise, it was great then. Sadly now the food is extremely bland and flavorless. i just dont get the hype behind it. The red bank one was good for a couple weeks then slowly got blander and blander. I just got a «buffalo» soldier burrito but it looks like they forgot the buffalo. Literally ate a plain chicken and rice burrito. Wish i could say this was the first time they did this but its the third and final time. See ya surf taco!

I’ve been to almost all of ST’s locations and their spot in Red Bank just isn’t my favorite. It has more a commercial and industrial feel and less of a beachy laid back vibe. Considering that this is one of the only locations not on the beach, I guess that makes sense. But I still prefer the Long Branch or Belmar location any day of the week. It’s also always really overcrowded here. Atmosphere aside, it’s Surf Taco and regardless of which location you choose, they’ve got delicious food that is consistent every time. I only ever order a chicken tender taco, which has crispy breaded chicken topped with ranch, shredded cheddar, pico and lettuce. It’s delicious, perfect and probably one of the better things that I’ve had to eat. One overflowing taco with complimentary chips and a side of guac is usually more then enough to satisfy my appetite. Tacos aside, there are a ton of different routes to take. Fajitas, dillas, burritos, bowls, wraps, salads… the list is endless. If you have never been to a Surf Taco then don’t waste time. Go!

Surf taco is a great island style food place that had Mexican/seafood Type. Both locations are great and the décor is awesome! I love how they constantly play surfing videos on the televisions that even in winter make you feel like you are in the islands. The fish is always so fresh and the staff is helpful everytime I have been there! Definitely a jersey shore food staple.

I’ve been to the location in Belmar but this was my first time trying out Red Bank. It was surprisingly packed for a Friday afternoon but the line moved pretty fast and our food came out really quickly. The surf taco is the one you absolutely need to try. A lot of good flavor but the only negative is that they add a lot of vegetables in the taco so it can overpower the fish. I also had a shrimp taco as well and the flavor was good when I could taste the shrimp but mainly tasted the vegetables. Free chips and 4 choices of salsa as well.

Good for an easy quick lunch or dinner. I always get the garlic shrimp buritto in a bowl instead of with a tortilla. So good and it comes with chips and whatever salsa you want. They also have a specials menu with pretty good stuff on it!

Food was pretty good but restaurant policies are ridiculous. I requested a cup for water for my son and was told corporate doesn’t allow cups for water; I had to purchase a bottle of water. I used the money I intended for my tip to buy bottled water to make my point. We are from Texas; if you deny people water, they die. Additionally, I ordered the large guacamole and was told chips come with the meal. Once I ate my 10 chips I asked for an additional basket and was told yet again, there would be a charge. Corporate policies are ridiculous. And chip serving much to small for a large guacamole.

Overrated as hell. Food is bland as shit and gave me a stomachache. Booooooo. I really, really don’t get why this lousy chain is so popular, especially this location since there are multiple better quality, authentic and actually flavorful options for Mexican food in Red Bank.

Surf Taco… you disappoint me. The food is 4 stars. Always is. I order the same thing all the time. Creature of habit. The service, however, is negative 2. First, if I use a credit card, please don’t tell me that you can’t give me a copy of the receipt. WHAT!!! There should be more than a merchant copy! How am I supposed to have proof about what I tip you? Not sure that I should have tipped anyway. more about that in a minute. I need to provide receipts when I’m working, so YEAH, I need a copy that reflects the tip. Pretty aggravating. Had to take a camera pic of the receipt. Hope that works for my expense report. SIGH. Not sure what benefit the brunette girl with the braid brings to that establishment??? She was food– running our lunch and when I commented that what she brought out seemed incorrect and that I couldn’t eat it anyway bc there was a huge thing of guac in the middle that I didn’t order and I’m totally allergic to avocado. Instead of apologizing, she rips the plate away and starts bitching as she storms off, «WELLINTHEFUTUREYOUSHOULDSAYSOMETHINGABOUTTHATBCHOWAREWESUPPOSEDTOKNOW???» Ummm… well, millennial brat, since the meal DOESNOTCOMEWITHGUAC and that was actually what my friend had ordered… maybe you should take it upon yourself to read a ticket correctly… or… I don’t know. just apologize for the mistake in the order and incorrect delivery!!! But, by all means… continue your stereotypical, self-involved, zero-responsibility temper tantrum. Had I not been starving or in a hurry, I would have had a fun and enlightening conversation with their management, as braid girl was just over the top and certainly is lacking in any customer service skills necessary for this type of position. Since I lived in Long Branch for 5 years, I try to hit Surf Taco whenever in the nabe… next time I’ll drive down a bit further to the LB one or go to Turning Point in Little Silver instead, as the lack of service really made the meal a bit disappointing.

I don’t care what anybody says, I love surf taco. Are there better Mexican restaurants around, probably, but this isn’t Mexican, it’s Surf Taco. Love the salsa bar, verde and baja mixed together. Surf burrito, large portion fresh fish. So cheap, so good. I actually prefer this location to other shore ones(Manasquan, Long Branch) because there’s generally more room and you don’t feel so rushed/crowded.
