Awesome food and service here. Omelette safe awesome and best I have ever had. Always perfectly cooked. Sandwiches for lunch are awesome. My favorite specials are the turkey chili omelet, beef brisket sandwich and flounder sandwich. Always cooked perfect and delicious.

I WILLNEVERCOMEBACKHEREAGAIN! That being said I wish they had half a star because this place certainly deserved it. Aside from the less than mediocre breakfast the people here are rude. I’ll be sure to have friends and family steer clear of this place, they can get better service and food elsewhere.

WARNING: HORRIBLESERVICEANDTREATMENTFROMTHEMANAGERS. Came here to eat after working a nightshift at the hospital wanting to enjoy a nice breakfast with my girlfriend. Food was overpriced. $ 12 for a greasy underdone omelette. After we ate our food and wanted to chit chat, we got told to go sit at the bar. Moved to the bar area and got told 15 minutes later to leave because and I quote«you’ve been here for three hours you overstayed your welcome you need to leave.» I have never gotten kicked out of an overpriced, outdated furniture, low class diner or any restaurant in my life! There were so many empty seats, it wasn’t like we were loud and taking up room! We felt discriminated against. Bob you are horrible to your customers! You need a lesson on courtesy and customer service. Never coming here ever again. I would rather pay Perkins and IHOP $ 12 for an omelette. At least I know it will be good and I wouldn’t get treated poorly there.

This place has a very local diner feel to it. Nothing fancy and kind of looks like a dump from the outside. Food was good and so was service(went midweek for a late breakfast). Nothing to write home about but if you’re in the area it’s a decent breakfast.

My daughter and I come here almost every week for breakfast or lunch and not only is the regular menu a home run, the specials are always creative and delicious. A great Red Bank institution.

This place gets 5 stars from me because if my mother likes it that’s saying something b/c otherwise you’ll never hear the end of it. She left here with a big smile on her face and a full belly — I wish I knew about this place sooner. We are not from New Jersey and thought we’d take a ride on a Sunday morning in search of a new place for breakfast. So The Inbetweeen Café popped up on our radar and we decided to check it out. From the outside it looks like a pub and not a very big one. Then you open a screen door and then a regular door and you think you accidentally walked into someone’s house until you see the long rows of tables and brace yourself b/c you are going to be seated family style — watch your elbows! Hence the name Inbetween Café I guess. You can also eat at the counter so it does have that tavern feel to it which it probably was before the café. The food was served hot, it was fresh with lots of flavor and nice-sized portions. What more could you ask for. Yes you do wait a while for the food but it is worth it and what’s the rush? Just drink your coffee and relax. It’s Sunday. I loved my Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese Omelet. I think the broccoli was steamed or sauteed but it was not raw and there was just the right amount of everything to make every bite awesome. The Farmer’s Omelet was chockful of like the entire farm. Ham AND bacon, cheese and veggies. After our breakfast we were good to go and definitely marked this as a returning spot. It looked like a lot of locals go there and have been for years so that’s always a good sign. I’m already dreaming about a stack of blueberry pancakes — hmmm, is it Sunday yet?

Went here for the first time recently and will definitely be going back. It was quite crowded as you can imagine on a Sunday morning but we were seated and accommodated within 5 minutes. The food took a while to come out but it was worth the wait. Piping hot. And fairly inexpensive which is always a plus for great food.

We came to Red Bank for the weekend and we’re happy to find this place for breakfast! Delicious omelets including a special with turkey chili! Great potatoes as well! Contrary to other reviews, the service we received was fantastic!

I was trying to enjoy my breakfast this morning and it was RUDELY interrupted by the owner berating two gentleman at the counter over bringing a red bull in with them. If the red bull was such a big deal, pick it up and throw it in the trash!!! Then the cops came to take them out of the restaurant. Really?! Was all that necessary? Not what I’m looking for in a brunch… Maybe next time consider the other customers in the restaurant.

The server was really nice and the food was good. The place is tiny and crowded, so we sat at the counter, but it was a cut experience overall

I have been a customer going back to the original owners, since I was a young girl. This has been one of my favorite places when I’m in the Red Bank. Today I was treated beyond rude by two waitress’. Honestly I’m still in shock and really upset. I have celiac disease not just a gluten allergy. I have always brought my own bread with me when I feel like a sandwich here, especially when I know they don’t have gluten free bread. I did the same today, as I’ve done so many times before and we sat down. The first waitress came over and told me I couldn’t bring outside food in, I explained I always have and that I can’t eat gluten. She walked away and another waitress came over and told me I couldn’t use it with my meal. I said I wasn’t going to send it back to the kitchen, I order without bread and put it together myself. She said the cook who I know is the owner too, forbids this. Very nicely, I asked if they started carrying gluten free bread and she ignored me and she said this has to be removed off the table and went to take it. Startled, I said this is ridiculous and we got up to leave. In a nasty voice she said well you have a good day. It could have been handled so much better by the establishment and then I would have just ordered something and respected their wishes. I can’t tolerate rude. This actually wasn’t the first time they were rude. I always give places another chance, especially those I’ve been going to for years, people make mistakes and have bad days. Last year I brought out of town friends in for breakfast. It was after the breakfast rush so it was on the empty side. We were a table of four, one had a computer bc they wanted to show us something and the owner said rudely«this is not an Internet café!» At first we thought he was joking and we laughed, but realized he wasn’t. Please put your your computer away. I was embarrassed but let it go. That didn’t bother me but now it does as I realize rude comes down from the owner. So today we walked across the parking lot to Robinson’s Ale house. Never been there, but as they say things happen for a reason. They have gluten free and vegan options marked on the menu. They have gluten free bread! The waitress noticed mine on the table and said if You prefer using your own You are welcome to do so. I took advantage of using their bread. We had a fantastic meal at Robinson’s and our waitress was so nice. I’m sad I will no longer be going to the Inbetween again but we found another place.

We were seated and it took 40 minutes before the waitress let us know our food still wasn’t started. It wasn’t anything complicated, just two omelets. We asked and she said it’d be a few before it got started and we waited this long so we should stay. We asked if we could just pay for the coffee and leave. The food that was coming out looked like standard diner food so probably didn’t miss much. I wouldn’t recommend unless you were there during the week at a slow time.

Cute, cozy, down-home seating and décor, very old school. Gourmet-type omelet and other breakfast options, as well as all the breakfast and lunch usuals. Prices are a buck or two higher for the more upscale options, which is fair, and are otherwise average. Friendly service(the NJ version of friendly, that is) but food can take a while on the crazed, crowded weekends. Much calmer and faster here during the week. Definitely worth a visit or two(though last time we were here the bacon was not the best… hope that was a one-time minus).

Agree with others here that the food is good, but the place is run and staffed by dicks, which is why I’m giving two stars instead of three. It should be one star actually, but their excellent French toast and home fries made me give it a second star. The waitress kicked me out the second I ate my last bite because it was 3 p.m. I am a server myself and more than understand the etiquette about staying past your welcome at closing time. I wasn’t even camping out, I was literally still chewing!

Food was mediocre. What I was disappointed about was the fact that we waited a long time for my food it came I hardly touched it when my waitress came and asked if I wanted it to go– 1. I’ve had it for 5 min give me some time and maybe ask first if I’m done. 2. My husband was still eating wait till he’s done to take out plates and give the check. Ask if we want anything else ! So poor service mediocre food. Don’t think I’m coming back.

Good food, rude and unfriendly owner with no customer service. He should stay in the kitchen. We stopped in to have breakfast here for a small business meeting with three people. Food was very good as was coffee. We were at the restaurant approximately one hour and there were plenty of empty tables around the entire restaurant and the bar top was completely empty. Out of nowhere a man from the kitchen(were later told by the manager he is the owner) approached us and said we had to leave because he is too busy and there’s no tables. While that is completely acceptable, there are ways to approach people and being a nasty and pushy to paying customers(we spent $ 50 on breakfast) is completely unacceptable. He was completely unfriendly or unapologetic in demanding we leave and didn’t thank us for stopping in. He treated us as though we stole from him. And now we’ll never be back.

Had the bacon/cheddar omelette and the ham/cheddar/omlette both with home fries. They were both really good. Tasted home made It was very comfortable and friendly place. (I don’t know about the carpeting though. Needs a little updating.)

Celebrity sightings and good food. The in-between café is always a good bet. I found this place on Unilocal a few years ago, and have been coming every few months ever since. It’s always bustling on the weekends. The tables are set up communal style, so if you have a smaller party, expect to sit next to another group. Also, it’s cash-only, but there’s an ATM inside. The in-between has tons of breakfast and lunch options – it’s closed for dinner. There are also always a bunch of fun specials. I like getting omelettes. They’re good and come with potatoes. Living in Manhattan, I love how there’s so much food for a lower cost here. Other than omelettes, family members like ordering crepes, sandwiches, pancakes, wraps. Everything is really good and I’m never disappointed. As an added bonus, I’ve seen Jon Stewart eating lunch with his family

Came back for brunch again and had a great experience. The waitress was so sweet and friendly, food came out within 10 minutes, everything was delicious, and… no hair! I ordered the multigrain French toast which was a weekly special… it was the fluffiest, lightest French toast I ever had. The dish was topped with a load of fresh blueberries and chopped nectarines. Perfection :)
