We found this place while on vacation driving through upstate New York in May of 2016, I have to say that I was surprised with the amount of 5-stars that this place has based on our experience. The lunch and service received was certainly anything but stellar. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious and freshly prepared, but extremely small for what you paid for. $ 30.00 later and we are still hungry and very disappointed. Extremely overpriced for the portions.

Stopped in for a late lunch after hearing positive things about it we were looking forward to going in. We both got a tasty beer from their varied selection. I ordered the salmon specialand my partner ordered spec sandwich with fresh ricotta and broccoli rabb. Everything was super tasty including the pickled beets that they served on the side. Their shop is set up so you can purchase their food to go as well as buy locally sourced soaps crafts etc. Really enjoyed her first time here.

three for three great meals. This is not a place where you will find a tomato out of season. The house made kielbasa and merguez are knock out. Also the meat ball sandwich, such a perfect combo of meat, sauce, cheese and the right bun. Casual, order at the counter and made with well sourced ingredients. Just tried Friday Burger Night and was not disapointed. The meat was rich and jucie and tased wholesome. Toppings restrained. Simply high quality home made food, not mass restaurant or(yikes) pub food. I would say bring the kids and let them have real food. thanks

I am astonished by all the 5 star reviews. The lunch and service just received was certainly anything but stellar. Our kielbasa sandwich was under smoked and cold in the middle, I went up to the counter and asked if she was sure the kielbasa was smoked all the way through. She assured me yes, and then turned back to her duties. A twenty percent service tip for counter service and she never even asked us how the meal was? Or offered another option off the menu if we weren’t satisfied with our menu choice. Did I mention the establishment was far from swamped. 42 $ later we are still hungry and very disappointed. Hope their Ale is better than their fare, but we won’t be back to see. Great concept, poor execution. Overpriced for the portions it’s upstate Red Hook not Brooklyn.

Stopped in for a growler fill, great beer selection, and friendly service. Definitely worth the trip off the Taconic.

Came here for a quick pit stop. Delicious BLT! The squash soup was also mouth watering. A bit too much olive oil drizzled for my taste but great meal. We also took some bread, duck prosciutto, and Swiss cheese to go at a very reasonable price.

Stopped in for an early lunch and had an exquisite heirloom tomato salad with a side of fresh beet salad. Sparklingly yummy! Great addition to town. Minor complaint: I’d prefer a real plate to a paper one since it’s not really a take-away joint(not exclusively). Otherwise, will be back!

My favorite thing about Wednesday is lunch from Daughters I’ve worked my way through all the sandwich sand they’re great. Add one of a number of interesting beers and it’s a great meal. And then there’s the take home salads, yummy desserts and some great hand picked dry goods. It’s a reason to go to Red Hook all on its own!

Basic setup with self serve counter. A couple of tables outdoor seating… Nice beer election. Nice fresh food made and served with lots of love. Meatballs were as good as everyone says. Awesome beet salad! A few areas for improvement A random mix of produce… Nice beans and fig nutons? Tables outside very shaky…

My daughter and I stopped in here for lunch after touring Bard College. It was the best part of our trip! I had poached salmon over market greens and she had the most unbelievable BLT ever. We sat outside and regarded the pleasant goings-on on Main Street.

We were headed to the Spiegeltent, at Bard, and while searching Unilocal this place jumped out as something fresh and different. We were not disappointed. Our«server», who’s really the person behind the counter but does bring you the food, was lovely and helpful, and full of enthusiasm for the food and what they are doing at Daughter’s. She also allowed me to taste every beer on tap until I found the right one for my palette. The assortment of sandwiches and side salads are terrific. I had the speck and my friend had the BLT. The«everything baguette» — upon which the sandwhiches are served — are unique and really good. We also had potato and kale salads. All were delicious. We finished up with the sweet treat of the day, which was a home made gooey cake. Something from the chef’s youth in St Louis. Also, delicious. Both of us live across the river, though we often dine in Rhinebeck. However, we will definitely come back to Daughter’s. Given that they’ve only been open for a few months, I look forward to seeing them evolve. I’d love to see them try their hand at some hot dishes. Next time I think I’ll have to try the Grilled Cheese.

Having a poached salmon salad… It has some of the best and most interesting mix of greens I have had in a very long time! I WILL be back again! The Brooklyn IPA is delicious too!

Really good food! Had an amazing chicken salad sandwich and my friend had the merguez sandwich. Ingredients are so good(sourdough bread was perfect) — perfect place for lunch and way more zen than places in rhinebeck. Great option for lunch if you are in the area… would definitely come back. Plus the service is awesome.

Everything is delicious! I eat here several times a week, it’s my new favorite. Tasty sandwiches made from local and house made ingredients, and awesome little details everywhere that make Daughters stand out! Fresh pickled veggies, delicious real cold brew coffee and lemonade, and a totally unique grocery element make for an awesome addition to the family of excellent places to eat in the area.

Everything Red Hook has been missing and more! Unique and thoughtfully varied gourmet dishes by real food loving chefs, served in a relaxed, cozy, yet elegant atmosphere! Everyone working there is friendly, cool, and very knowledgeable. Their ingredients seem to be mostly or completely locally produced, always of very high quality, and their charcuterie is even produced in house! Combine that with a perfect balance of flavors and textures, respect for traditional foods, a whole lot of creativity and you have perfection! Oh and best pastries I’ve had anywhere in New York state Anyway they say their local NY draught beer is coming soon, which means I’ll be there twice as often. Nowhere else in Red Hook can you better enjoy food, friends and culture! Aaaand they sell fantastic natural and local NY soap out of awesome bulk dispensers with reusable soap bottles… this place is amazing!

I visited when they had just been open for a week, during the Apple Blossom Festival. Pretty incredible stuff to munch on. I had the ridiculously delicious ham, swiss & ramp hand pie. And a summer sausage on a roll(the sausages are made COMPLETELY in house! Holy moly.) And the Gooey Butter Cake. HEAVEN. I don’t live nearby, but will be changing my normal driving route from the city so I can swing by here for lunch when I am upstate. SERIOUSLY cannot wait till they start serving beers. Oh — and while I was there, I heard some people get confused about the dry gods stuff for sale — is this a café? A deli? A fancy soap store? You know how I looked at it? It’s like a really nice, upscale & upstate version of a good Brooklyn Bodega. Get your coffee, your sandwiches, and a thing of some fancy Himalayan sea salt. Only thing missing is a bodgea cat.
