Yum. Very good. I got ahi tuna burger, son fish and chips, my other son and husband got all American burger. Everyone loved their meals. Only criticism was not enough fries. That’s why 4 stars instead of 5.

After today’s visit, Rusty’s gets downgraded to a 3. The food is still great, but the service and waitstaff is truly awful. Today, for lunch, we never saw the same server twice. We were asked if we needed anything else. After asking for a dessert to go and the check, that waiter came past twice without acknowledging us or bringing the bill. Finally, I got frustrated enough to go in and ask for my bill at the register. The waitress looked confused while I looked around and noticed that there were only 2 tables inside and two outside, mine included. With 3 members of waitstaff on duty, there is no excuse for such terrible service. Truthfully, I could even look past the slowness of it all if everyone wasn’t so unfriendly. On the plus, the Buckeyes were, as always, delicious.

Delicious farm to table food at Rusty’s!!! My husband and I both ordered wraps and they were great! His side of fries were crispy and tasty, and my side of macaroni salad was homemade!

The food is always on point. The«One» wrap and sweet potato fries are my go to. We have never been disappointed with a meal. The service, however, may leave a bad taste in your mouth. Don’t get me wrong, I have had worse WAY servers in other establishments, and being a former waitress, I understand how working in a kitchen can be. However, a simple smile and small talk(when necessary) can go a long way! I will definitely keep returning, however, maybe take home orders would be better idea.

The food is just good. Plain good. My only wish here is that they served fresh veggie juices in large containers. On the other hand where can you go for a nice fresh carrot, ginger and beet juice around Red Hook? Love this place.

The food here is local and prepared fresh. The Philly(steak sandwich) is my go to, but sometimes the fried side items can come out too soggy. I’ve tried regular fries, sweet potato fries and even the zucchini coins which have been hit or miss. My husband has also had the fish and chips here and has experienced the same thing — some days the fried items seem great, other days, not so great. Overall though, the food is very good!

Have eaten in Rustys a couple of times. Today I ran in for a quick salad with veggie burger. I ordered it not asking if GF. Asked a couple of minutes later. Yes probably on grill already. Burger has gluten. Ugh. Asked waitress if she could replace with salmon which by the way is $ 5 extra. Waitress informed me she would charge me for the burger anyway. This is a terrible way to handle ur local customer. Waitress argued with me saying I was asking for free food. Wow! Suggestion to the owner… mark ur menu correctly so this doesn’t happen again. Will probably go back again. It was more how the waitress handled the situation. But beware of the menu if u have any food allergys.

I’m willing to pay a little more for farm fresh meals, and as such Rusty’s menu and atmosphere appeal to me. With all the wraps, salads, and burgers all priced at $ 9.99, it feels to me that the burgers and grilled sandwiches are the best deal. The burgers are thick and cooked to order, and all the burgers and sandwiches come with a tasty variety of toppings. Among the sides, we prefer the sweet potato fries. They’re matchstick size, perhaps not quite as crisp as I’d like, but they are coated with light amounts of salt, sugar, and maple flavoring to give them a complex taste. They have a variety of teas and smoothies and lemonades available besides conventional bottled beverages. Picnic tables are available for outside dining in nice weather. Rusty’s is the type of place I’d enjoy patronizing for lunch or a light dinner when I’m in Red Hook.

Great food. Local. Healthy choices. Had a great lunch, it was busy. We had a table of 3 and the only table open was 2 top the owner came out from cooking in the kitchen, to offer another another table from the back. Sometimes a little slow if your in a rush, otherwise it’s my favorite lunch spot in red hook

My girlfriend and I used to eat at Rusty’s. We were in at least once or twice a week for roughly 2 years. The food was always great and the service was generally decent. Flash forward to July of 2014, Russ himself became a rare sight, instead the young girls and the cook were left to run the show… The last meal we attempted to eat here, on my girlfriend’s birthday no less, was a disaster. We sat unattended for longer than usual, which was fine. We placed our orders and waited. After 20 minutes of watching other tables being seated and served, our server came back to inform us that they were out of ingredients for her lunch. No problem, new order placed. 45 minutes after we ordered originally, the waitress returned to inform me that they also hadn’t the stuff to build my meal either while the guy at the next table(who came in after us mind you) was happily eating exactly what I had ordered myself. I requested the check, which also took 10 minutes to get. The young girl bathed us in apologies, but still charged us for a soda and a hot tea despite the time and toll wasted and my obvious displeasure with the circumstance. This was the end of a downhill slide with the service here. Screwed up orders, long waits, inattentive employees and all at the same $$ price point. Don’t be surprised if they close early, especially if there’s a special sports event that day. When the cat is away, the mice do indeed play. Call ahead. As a sidenote, the restaurant gets noisy, especially when there are young children involved, so be prepared. Too bad really because we really did enjoy the meals we ate here. I’m leaving 2 stars for the memories of the good meals and for the GF options available.

A really good veggie burger… No seriously! It was really different than the nasty hockey pucks other places throw on to a bun. The waitstaff was super nice and made sure everything about the lunch went well(read: refills!). I’ve had lunch twice this week from the place and I’d say that this is a good place to keep on the radar! Sorry Holy Cow, no room for ice cream!

This is an awesome place to bring a friend who is gluten free and/or vegan. Tasty food, excellent service, and good prices. My only piece of negative feedback is that the bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked.

A little expensive for what it is but it is worth it every time. The slider and onion rings are worth the trip.

The first time I came here, the service was so horribly slow that we almost walked out. The waitress(seemingly the only FOH person working here) was screaming at the kitchen staff and being rude to customers(she was obviously flustered and I dont really blame her, the place was very busy and she was handling it on her own). Staff more people! Food was cold by the time we got it and honestly the experience was so ruined at that point that I barely remember the food. Tried to go back today to get a quick lunch with my mom aaaand they’re closed. On Mother’s Day. You know that today is one of the biggest restaurant days of the year, right? Not just for white tablecloth places. Right. You guys definitely have operating issues.

4−3−14, My dear friend took me to this charming little eatery which is filled with lots of wonderful healthy food and filled with great flavor and top notch personality in our waitress. I am so thrilled to know that there is a place that exist near Columbia County. I am happy to know that Rusty’s offers gluten free meals and desserts for their special dieters. I highly recommend this eatery to anyone whether you are gluten free or not, the food is exceptional and fresh and buy from local farms. Our waitress was very excited of the foods on the menu and hopefully other restaurants and eateries will be specializing in special diets for their customers. I ordered a hamburger for the first time in a long time because most hamburgers and not very good, dry and crumbly, well ordered a hamburger and it was served with sweet potato fries and it was the best burger I have every had, plus on Thursday, you received a free soup and I had the vegetable curry, it was amazingly delicious. Also to mention the cherry bar, so delicious, I am truly a huge fan. What I loved about this eatery, each day, is offered a free item and soup was my lucky day! So, both thumbs up and a wink of an eye for Rusty’s Farm Fresh Eatery. My opinion, must try! Thanks Linda for treating me!

Went again, on a Sunday night, when nothing was opened; great vegetarian wrap with wonderful sweet potato fries and my date had a salad with wild salmon and loved it; sunday night even meant great homemade soup, which he raved about. He looked at the place and thought it looked awful and then said, I was wrong! Just wish the desserts were more appealing and served wine or let us bring our own???

Very pricey. But I’d have to say, they have some damn good burgers. The fries were kind of hard; not crunchy-hard, but actually hard. Not so good. The burger slightly made up for this. I like the interior as well-very eclectic and happy! The service was good too-efficient and friendly.

I have to say the replacement for Uncle Chippies is a little disappointing. The food is not worth the price listed both quantity or quality even though they claim it is «farm fresh». The food is pretty decent and the waiting service was a little unprofessional. So overall, it was an A-OK experience for me.

I was sad…[sad like this :(but real] when I’d found out that uncle chippys(the restaurant previously inhabiting the space) had closed until the food we ordered appeared on our table and I took my first awe-struck bite. I ordered a bacon blue sub, which instead of a standard beef, came with grilled chicken. It’s one of those meals where literally every flavor is distinct yet complementary to the other flavors. The price was also really amazing for what you get out of your order. I felt totally sated by the end of my meal. If I had any drawback to the meal it was that I had ordered the chips, which were delicious, but my family had all gotten the fries which were far more flavorful. Whenever I find myself across the river in need of food, Rusty’s will be the first place I stop!
