In an area with few options people go to whatever is available, and that whatever is Sidelines on route 9. It is the place you wouldn’t want to visit unless you had an alternative for that pint you really MUST have with your friends on a week night. Sidelines is like a bar in a Billy Joel song: it’s dark, and full of people sitting alone… Food: just edible. Nothing special. Prices are OK. Drinks are OK too. Parking is never a problem. Visited last time in Summer 2015.

Shame on Brandon the Manager of Sidelines for making excuses for an unsatisfactory meal. Watered down martini was sent back. Heavily greased french fries, cold, rubbery Chicken Wings and my husband’s hamburger smelt sour. After a courtesy call to the manager Brandon had a litany of excuses such as a big party was being catered. Really? He offered to take care of us next time we came in which we did a week later. What we got was one round of drinks. Big Woop! I ‘m suspicious when I read restaurant reviews that are so negative. I am not THAT person. We are locals who rarely dine out. This coupled with the fact that my husband wanted to have dinner at Charlie O’s or 5 Guys I insisted we try Sidelines. Sorry this place is associated with my dear NYYANKEES. Never again and I’m spreading the word to everyone I meet.

Nice place with decently good food. I got the sweet potato fries and a make your own pizza. The place was not very crowded for a Saturday night so we got good service. They started karaōke/dancing around 10 but we left shortly after that. I’d say this place has potential!

After a long summer day(spent mostly at the Red Hook town pool) we wanted to get something to eat. Now, when it is after 9pm that can be quite a challenge in Red Hook. I had driven by Sidelines twice, but had never stopped in so we(three adults and four kids) decided to try it. First off, this is a review for only the apps since the main menu is unavailable«late» night. It was Thursday night, so we got to experience both Wings Night AND karaōke. We ordered 20 wings(medium spice), mozzarella sticks, an order of BBQ wings and the Texas cheese fries(no bacon please) along with a large cheese pizza. The wings were good, meaty and hot enough to make them worthwhile. The cheese fries came with bacon(didn’t make the vegetarian in our group happy after he ate some), the BBQ wings were tasty and the mozzarella sticks were standard. The pizza was think crust and excellent and we wolfed it down. I had a mixed drink and we had some beers for the adults and soft drinks for the kids. Service was VERY friendly, but kind of slow. It was not too busy, but it took an inordinate amount of time to get drinks. I couldn’t figure that out… and we had to flag down our waiter to place our food order. As I said, he was a very friendly guy, it just took a while. The highlight was the karaōke. We had a great view of the set up and there were some outstanding performances. It made for a fun evening. They do karaōke Thursday and Saturdays. Ambiance is typical sports bar. Lots of memorabilia and numerous flat screens. We had no trouble watching the Mets beat the Phillies in the bottom of the 9th… Yeah! There were some annoying strobe lights in the dining area, but they shut them off when we asked. So, Sidelines looks to be a good edition to the Red Hook eating scene. Prices were reasonable and the food was decent. Again, we didn’t get to sample the main menu… when we do I will add to this review. Oh yeah, the one thing we didn’t order(though I wanted to) sounded positively fascinating. It is billed as Thanksgiving Dinner in a ball. Basically, it is turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes rolled in a ball and deep fried and served with gravy. Sounds great, doesn’t it? My wife would have filed for divorce right then and there if I had ordered it… oh well.

Great sports bar, pub, super friendly fun atmosphere for adults and the whole family, the chef is very talented and worked at very good rastaurants in manhattan, the food is tasty, fresh good ingredients and very well seasoned, the chef knows food the menu is diverse and very interesting for a sports bar, the pull pork sandwich, the burger and salads are the best I had in a while, the area needed a place with great food in a fun very casual setting, people from Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Tivoli, Rhinecliff should come and have some great food and a great time, great place Welcome to the area!, hope this restaurant is here to stay for a long time.

sports bar is really cool, tons of authentic sports memorabilia on the walls(signed jeter jersey), over all good atmosphere. The food was way better than I expected at a sports bar, I was told its all homemade down to the sauces they use. loved it, would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try out a new restaurant in the area.

Very disappointed! Food choice is very small and bland ;(three of the items we asked for they were out of… Chili land, portabella mushroom bland, coleslaw dry and no flavor, aujus for French dip tasted like dirty dishwater… Another cheezt restaurant in Red Hook!
