No hillbilly music during motorcycle rally please. We are there to rock out, not square dance.

Wow! What a fun place. We came up to Red River to see the Tejas Brothers and to celebrate my birthday. The band was fantastic, dance floor was huge, drinks were nice and strong and the staff was friendly. The bouncer even joined the band to sing a song. We had a great time and no one had to drive. Our hotel was only a block away. Fun times!

We started out across the street @ Bull of the woods, but just wasn’t feeling the vibe. We left and went to the Motherlode and had a BLAST. They had a live country band on a Friday night. Band was playing more of a classic country, and was really good. Their was a couple of gypsys in their partying and then later on in the night, they went outside and performed with fire. Everyone that was @ bull of the woods came out and started watching them as well. Bartenders were very good, and helpful on mixed drink for the ladies I was with.

Probably my favorite Red River bar. We were there for Mardi Gras, one of the town’s main events for the year, and it was snowing and gorgeously cold outside and toasty inside by the fireplace. The bar is huge, lots of space and a good-sized dance floor. There were some great Texas blues bands playing, and they had free«Cajun» food set out for everyone. We didn’t have problems getting drinks, though it was a busy night, and everyone who worked here was friendly. We had a good conversation with the local sheriff, who was also in out of the cold.

We were here for Mardi Gras weekend so the place was pretty busy. I loved the rustic feel, with the wood floors and benches. There are pool tables in the back, and while we were there they had a live band playing Texas style blues. The beer was reasonably priced — 2 Shiners and 1 Bud Light for 11 bucks. The only thing is I wish is they had more than two bartenders behind the bar since it was a special event weekend — it took awhile to get our beers. Not a big deal really. Check ‘em out. It’s a pretty cool place.
