Got quoted a 20 minute wait; waited an hour. Waited another 30 minutes for our drinks; the appetizer came before we got them. We ordered calamari and we got the crumbs and 2 bites of calamari. It’s now been 2 hours and we still haven’t gotten our food!

Timbers is closed y’all. Gone. Nada. It closed down earlier this year. It is vacant. Nobody home. You cannot eat there. They do not serve food or anything else. The doors are locked. The electricity to building is turned off. I’m trying to hit the Unilocal limit of words to make this a review and not a Tip. Timbers is closed, do not go there. You cannot eat at Timbers. There, that should do it

Wife and I went here on our ski trip, while the food was decent, the server was good and the price was… well your in a vacation town what do you expect. Why I’m giving this 2 stars was for the price of the food it should have been better AND My MAIN problem was there credit card machine was not working when we went to pay which we had waited 10 minutes after trying to pay to be informed of that. My wife had 26 bucks on her and I had no cash. My tab was 35.00 and some change I think. The server said there is an atm down the street, well I was pretty bummed about that because that means I have to leave, go to the atm, come back and pay. On top of that the ATM was another 4 or 6 bucks I can’t remember. I get back to pay and she says they are working again and that it has never happened before«ok». Anyways they didn’t offer to take any off the bill or they could have just taken the 26.00 my wife had. I understand crap happens but if it’s not the customers fault the business should take care of that customer at least take off the money for the atm. Anyways I won’t return, red river is usually the only place I ski. On a side note the arrowhead lodge is perfect and cheap for a quick trip

Nice atmosphere. Within walking distance of the ski area. Food was great. Understaffed of waiters but even so, food and drinks were timely.

First off. Food was good. The sirloin looked like a filet and tasted very similar. Chicken fried steak was above average in size with a slightly burnt white gravy. Alcoholic drinks were made fairly strong, take it as you will. All of this was not worth the 1.5 hours from walking in to getting our food. They were understaffed… Beyond belief. If you enjoy a cozy environment and stout spirits, with an eternity wait. Have at it

Someone needs to call Gordon Ramsey about this one! Long wait for the bar tender to finish her electronic game at the bar so we could be seated(sorry we pissed you off by wanting to eat at your establishment). Nasty dirty tables — we were seated at a table with the sun in our eyes — no proper shades at this place. Moved because we valued the future use of our retinas. Dirty utensils tossed on the dirty table — lackluster staff that doesn’t care — LONG wait for mediocre food. We only ordered a couple of burgers — were too afraid to order anything else! If you want good food — head over to Shotgun Willies across the street. They have incredible catfish & brisket! The place doesn’t look like much but it is CLEAN and the food is GOOD.

I can’t comment on their food but they are very poor in customer service. We called in to make a reservation on Saturday morning around 11:00am. When we arrived at our reservation time the young guy stated that he is the one who takes care of all reservations and we didn’t have one. I was sitting beside my son in law when he called and made the reservation. Things happen and mix ups occur but this young guy needs to be taught how to handle them. You NEVER tell the clients that they are wrong. You just work at getting them in as soon as possible.

We ate here tonight. I love the atmosphere and we had the best waitress, jerrie! My son’s ahi tuna was delicious and the green chili chicken pasta was spicy but good. Everything needed salt too. My daughter and I both got beef and I would recommend to stay away from the beef. It was terribly tough and I couldn’t eat it. The salad and potato were very good though.

Same experience here with the LONG wait on food and BAD service. My friend and I were in town for the Red River Bike Rally during Memorial Weekend. We came into this cool looking restaurant/bar at noon for lunch. It was not busy at all and they had a bloody mary bar. There was no one at the front, no hostess to seat us. Finally after about 5 mins and almost leaving she came out and sat us. So we get the bloody mary bar and they are delicious! We ordered our food, couple of burger plates, nothing fancy. So… after a few other people came in, and after 30 mins, still no sign of our food. Then we see that the other tables that came in AFTER us are getting their food. Call the waitress over to see what the issue is, and she says she’s going to see whats going on. Didn’t see her for about 10 – 15 mins. At this point my friend is LIVID. The waitress comes back to say there was a mix up with our order and they are cooking it right now, it’ll be another 15 mins, she offers to make up with getting my friend another drink on the house. So, at that point, we should’ve left, but we stayed. The food looks good and smells great, at OTHER tables! 15 mins go by and at this point its been 1 hour since placing our order. Waitress comes by and says 3 mins. My friend is upset, starving, and not happy, neither am I. I finally decide this is ridonkulous and go to find a manager. I approach the bar and speak with the bartender in a calm manner and tell her what is going on. At this point 3 mins has long gone by and no food. She is very understanding and tells me the manager is in but is extremely busy. I tell her that what I am expecting from waiting this long for 2 burgers is either our food comped, or a significant discount. She understands and tells me she will inform the manager. I head back to the table and lone and behold 1 hour and 30 mins later… there is the salty waitress with our food. At this point she is not nice anymore and snidely tells my friend that it did NOT take over an hour for our food to arrive AND that the food is coming out of HER pay. My mouth dropped open as I was shocked by her attitude and remark. I’m surprised my friend didn’t rip her apart. Immediately, the bartender who was awesome, came over with a smile and said our WHOLE meal and drinks were on the house as well as 2 more drinks. We declined the 2 more free drinks as we were just STARVING at that point. I will say, the burgers were AMAZING! HUGE and tasty, fries were fried to a nice crisp with salt and pepper not greasy at all. Food and drinks EXCELLENT, service was HORRENDOUS. Sorry to say, I probably will not go back.

I’ve heard the food here is great, but unfortunately, I never got the chance to try it. I’ve never been made to feel more unwelcome upon walking into a restaurant. A group of six of us went in for dinner last weekend at around 7pm. The place was busy, but not packed. The hostess was nice enough, but the waitstaff couldn’t have been more surly or unpleasant. We waited for a while, not because there was no table available, but because the staff was arguing over who would move two tables together to make a six top. We actually overheard a server say, «This is bulls*#t. I’m not moving them into my section.» The vibe was SO negative and unpleasant. Needless to say, we left and were welcomed in and quickly seated at Texas Reds.

Worst dining experience I have had in a long time. I never received my soup. Waitress disappeared. Hostess served us partially. Salmon was dry and fishy. Chicken fried steak was pretty good. Drinks were never refilled. We got up and refilled our own drinks. Diner took 3 hours. Kitchen was SO slow. Would never go back.

Timbers’ food was pretty good. I recommend making a reservation because even with one, on a busy night you may have to wait a bit. The bartender was spot on with the white russians, and pretty much made the night.

The food is actually pretty good but the service is TERRIBLE! We arrived and were told there was an hour wait to be seated! This is a resort/touristy town BUT there were at least TENTABLESOPEN! I heard someone else ask why such a long wait with so many tables open and one of the 3 hostesses at the front said they didn’t want the kitchen to get behind. Ok I understand that BUT when the entire town is pretty much booked why not have more people in the kitchen, or have 2 of those 3 girls at the hostess stand help out the kitchen! I’ve never been to a restaurant that has more than one hostess! ABSOLUTELYRIDICULOUS!!! If you plan on coming here come as soon as they open or about 30 minutes before they close!

Not a bad stop if you’re looking for a steak in the area. We arrived on a Sunday night and found the place to be pretty empty. Waiter offered to seat us in the lounge but upon request, sat us in a booth next to a loud table of 15. Maybe the lounge would have been a better idea? Our waiter was friendly and did a good job of balancing several tables. For dinner, my husband opted for the brochettes while I had the New York steak. Each came with a house wedge salad, sourdough bread and garlic mashed potatoes. The house wedge came with a choice of dressing, blue cheese crumbles, diced tomatoes and bacon which were poured a top a wedge of iceberg lettuce. All fresh toppings. I really liked their ranch dressing and it made the salad delightful. The sourdough bread was warm and came with a side of whipped butter. My husband enjoyed his brochettes, but they seemed to be slathered in brown gravy. My steak was cooked as requested, but had some fatty parts which can be expected with a New York strip. I should’ve gone with my first choice — the filet. Ah well. Overall we got plenty to eat but would describe the experience as average.

This is a resort town, and a third tier one at that. so I won’t be too harsh. steaks are decent, and nothing special. I ordered garlic mashed as a side… it was cold and when I asked for hot potatoes they promptly brought me a fresh scoop of cold potatoes. Nice. Third batch saw the inside of the microwave. Meh.

This is the best place we tried in Red River. The menu has an array of choices – so many sounded good that I had a hard time choosing. If I were to rate the Timbers on a «Red River only» scale, it would easily get 5 stars, especially compared to our experience at Texas Red’s. We planned to eat at Brett’s Bistro but found out they don’t serve alcohol and wanted a glass of wine w/dinner. Brett’s should advertise to BYOB if that is possible in Red River. The atmosphere is nice. It was crowded, but we got seated right away. We sat upstairs looking over the downstairs restaurant. We started with the baked brie and the lavosh. The brie came with honey and green apples – fantastic! The crust was thicker than the phyllo you see on brie sometimes. It was so good. The lavosh was tasty. You could get other toppings, however we just got cheese for our kids. The cheese was still flavorful and the lavosh was crisp. I had the beef tenderloin brochettes. There were a couple of tough places in the meat, but overall, it was very good. The garlic mashed potatoes were good as well. The Timbers has a nice wine list as well. We each got a glass of Pinot Noir. It was colder than the typical Pinot temperature, but I will take too cold over too warm anyday. Our waitress was nice but completely spread too thin. She had a table next to us of about 15 people. We got what we needed but service was a little scattered. If in Red River, this would be my #1 choice by far.

Good steak, good service. Average dinner in Red River. They need to call Steamatic to come clean their carpets. The place showed the wear and dirt of the thousands of Red River tourists. I would eat here again.

Showed up to find a 90 minute wait. Hostess offered to give us a call when our table was ready, so we went back to our condo and waited in comfort. Only flaw in that system is that we ate a snack while waited so didn’t have an appetizer while there, however, that was a fantastic way to start our experience there. Two of our party ate the chicken fried steak and ended up sharing it with others, the portion was so large. Our server, Luke, was extremely attentive and our table was positioned close to the fireplace, which was nice on the very cold evening. The only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating was the menu. It was fairly limited in choices. Hopefully the limited menu translates into quality for all items.

One of the few places open after 9pm on a weekend night… Good service, no wait, full bar, food good enough. Prices just a tad high. Why is everything else closed after 9pm at Red River?!
