This is hands down the best burger joint in this town. I have been here for a few years and these people never disappoint! I’m here today for about the thirtieth time, anxiously awaiting my fresh creation of yummiest!

Pretty darn tasty burger! The establishment is a cool little place. I love condiments on a burger and this place does not skimp. The fries were good, but what took the cake was the fry sauce! I wish I could buy a jug to use with every fry I’ve ever eaten.

Just a good nothing fancy place to get a burger. They’ve been doing it that way for a long time and they do a great job, always get the giant burger. Price wise you spend a little more than some places but suck it up, it’s worth trying for the quality of taste.

I have been to Bartel’s a handful of times but after tonight, I am not sure if I will be going back. $ 20 for two double burgers and a large fry — one of the burgers with grilled onions was a disaster with a soggy bun and the other burger had the slightest amount of wilted lettuce. And the fries were definitely not enough to classify as a large. If I do decide to go back I will definitely be eating inside so if this happens again, they can correct it. Beware of take out orders.

The building is a little run down but this is easily the best burger in town. The employees are friendly and the food is made fresh & fast. Often we call ahead during lunch hour because they get pretty busy and are a small location. Great food!

Great place to get a burger made with actual REAL BEEF, which seems rare these days!
You can get a hamburger that looks like real meat, and tastes like real meat. I like my burgers plain, so the beef has got to be good.

Great local spot! Small inside but does what they can to maximize seating. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with small fry. Both were super good! Make sure you get fry sauce. Would like them to use less salt on the fries, it was a bit much.

Bartel’s does the best classic burger in the area. Their Giant Burger with cheddar and grilled onions is over the top. It is a «classic».

Great food, But not going back because cross contamination. It’s a shame. Someone’s going to get sick. The cashier helps wrap burgers without washing hands. The meat girl touches raw burger meat, tops of burger buns, and refrigerator door handle to get onions and wraps the burgers. While the fry girl makes fries and grabs fry sauce from the fridge where the meat girl just grabbed. Yuck ppl!

Reminded me of the burgers we used to get back in the day. It was a good solid burger. Nothing fancy at all. Best part was it didn’t hit like a rock an hour later. Great fries too. Don’t forget to order the fry sauce, its a sin to eat fries without it.

Old fashioned hamburger stand. I’ve been to the one in Redding and the one in Anderson. Always order the giant burger $ fries. Their fry sauce is excellent. There are a lot of hamburger places in Redding, but in my opinion, this is the best.

This is probably my favorite burger in redding. Every time I visit, I’ve gotten nothing but the best. I’ve never had a problem with my burger and I can always expect great quality from this restaurant. The inside isn’t very big, but I’m usually on the go when I get something here. I would definitely recommend this as a quick stop to get a great burger. Other than this, Maxwells is the only other place in redding that has a legitimate burger with great quality.

Great customer service & GIANT burgers! They explained the menu to us, got water for our dog, and brought our food out to us outside. Yummy food, great fry sauce and tasty milkshakes.

But seriously, this place is a must stop. I grew up loving this place. It was a special treat every few months or so. Any more often and I would have type II.
Everything is made fresh on a griddle, which means you keep the fat! Greasy goodness and special sauce. Try, you must.
Order: Giant-​cheeseburger with small fries and a small chocolate shake.
Take nap.
