This review is regarding the Hartnell location near the old Raleys. The food is very good, best omelette I ever had. Severs are very knowledgeable and flexible regarding menu changes which is much appreciated as my toddler and I can share as the portions are huge. My only complaint is the service, very slow on many occasions. Food is quick but the servers seem very busy. Most occasions we need to track down the waitress to order, to pay, to get the correct order and to get condiments. They are always apologetic and say the same thing(someone called in sick and rush hour, even though it was 2:30) It doesn’t stop me from coming but I only go when I have extra time.

This is for Humble Joes in the Cobblestone Center near the old Raleys’s. In one word, Terrible. My wife’s burger was dry and unflavorable. I had a chicken salad sandwich which was less than o.k. More mayo and sauce than any chicken. When I tried to take a bite everything slid out the other end. Also, it took three requests to get an iced tea. They apparently use a preservative in their salads to keep them fresh. Whatever it was, possibly the salad, spoiled chicken, or spoiled something I had a very bad case of diarrhea within ten minutes after leaving. Not to mention the ceiling leaked water on my head. I looked and saw a hole about the size of a quarter in the dry wall. Looking around I saw several spots where the plaster was beginning to swell. Come on Mr. manager fix the roof before the damn thing caves in. Stay away this place may it be hazardous to your health in more than one way.

So we wanted to try something new in town. Please don’t come here!!! As I’m typing this review my husband is in the bathroom with food poisoning!!! We tried the fried zucchini, full of salt, tasted like fried salt. I love fried zucchini but these just had so much salt on them. I had the ribs and my husband had the chicken fried steak. The ribs were not bad, but not worth the trip since he ended up sick with food poisoning. I will most likely never come back here because of this. The waitress was nice, but the hostess seemed moody. Not bad ribs if you want to roll the dice!!! Not worth it for us.

Huge portions! Definitely a locals place to eat. A hidden gem in Redding. Chicken. Fried Steak was perfect. Hubby ordered the Dad’s Omelet, it has everything except the kitchen sink. Loved the waitress!

This review is for the one on Hartnell next to the American Tire Store. The food here was really good. I asked the waitress what was good and she suggested the half rack pork ribs with the blackberry bourbon BBQ sauce. It was excellent. The soup was a spicy chicken tortilla soup which was almost as good as the dinner. Given the various reviews I was hesitant to try this place but I wanted something different. There’s nothing wrong with this restaurant and the food is great. I’m finding that a lot of the negative reviews aren’t accurate with this restaurant. I’m planning on being a repeat customer. This restaurant didn’t smell bad nor was it dirty.

Why isn’t there one listed for Hartnell? I’ll tell you, we had some tires put on at American Tires, and decided to have lunch at the store on Hartnell. We both ordered the strips and chips. They came to the table burnt. My fries were ok, but the wife’s were burnt. We’ll never go to the one on Hartnell again. It was our first time there, and WOW, what a let down… I don’t think I even want to try the one on Westside Rd now.

I went to the location on hartnell next to American Tire Co. The service was great, the food was delicious and plentiful. We had breakfast there with a friend who works nearby and they have sort of a build your own breakfast menu which was great. They even had housemade jam that was really good. I would eat here again absolutely.

Came here cause it was close by — a friend was visiting and we wanted something with local flavor. DONOT eat here. The fabric on the top of the booth we were sitting in(and all the other booths nearby) was filthy. Not just a little dirty, but filthy. The food was just okay, but should have been a whole lot better for the prices they had listed. The service was mediocre. I had to request syrup for my french toast — the waitress seemed surprised by that request. No one ever came by to refresh our coffee or water — it was about 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday and there were only about 10 tables occupied in the whole place, so it couldn’t have been because they were too busy. So the service is bad, the food is mediocre and the place is dirty.

WARNING!!! This place SMELLSBAD!!! But the service gets 8.5 points. I was going to order the special that they advertise as u walk in, but the waitress showed me how I could save even more by ordering something else. Food gets 7.0, because it’s not bad, but it’s not worth driving across town for. I live close, so it will do when we just want to go out. Biscuits & gravy are just microwaved biscuits & white sausage gravy without the sausage. That made me sad because I’m used to having bits of sausage in my gravy. But it was good

We found this gem of a place by accident. While traveling through Northern California. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the barbecue ribs which are a must try for everyone!!! You’ll regret it for the rest your life if you don’t stop after reading this review :-). The pricing of their specials are phenomenal. They have a different special each month, don’t miss out.

Apologies for selecting the wrong location — We ate at 2631 Balls Ferry Road, Anderson, California Location. Very Pleased with Three separate Visits. First visit — Garden Salad with excellent Bleu Cheese Dressing — Salad was crisp and well prepared. Second visit was lunch with 4 family members — Ordered was«The Bird» which was thoroughly enjoyed by 2 members of the family, next, Their French Dip — again, thoroughly enjoyed and finally«The Trio» which I thought was excellent and a great value. Salad again, soup and ½ of a sandwich(Chicken Salad) Soup was Beef Barley and was very tasty. Finally — Dinner — 6 people. A Chicken Ranch Wrap, N.Y. Steak, Spicy Buffalo chicken Salad(large portion) and finally three orders of their shrimp & Crab Taquitos which came with 3 different sauces(The Jalapeño avocado was excellent). In all visits, the staff and waitresses were excellent. The dinner order was a bit slow arriving but all others were great. There was a lemon-blueberry cake that was very good and the scoops of ice cream were generous that were ordered with the lunch visit. Overall, I do not hesitate the recommend Humble Joe’s — we had great experiences and food and service over three days. Will certainly return soon.

My husband and I decided to try Humble Joe’s in Redding for dinner. We walk in and the place is deserted, just staff. We were VERY hesitant to order. There’s a code number to allow special offers through text and we immediately signed up and got a great offer for a free appetizer to use right away! Staff was attentive and friendly. The place was very clean. I ordered a steak with vegetable, my husband ordered a special burger. We were VERY impressed with our food! My steak was tender, full of flavor and cooked a perfect medium. Burger was large and juicy and on par with our other favorite restaurant. We would eat here again and the text offers are not only great but re-usable for the entire month!

The French Dips are definitely delicious & the wine is well worth the price. Service was decent, but could have been better. Overall a decent spot to eat, especially for the area.

I stopped here as I was headed back to the Bay Area after a weekend of snowshoeing and had a terrific experience. The food was great, the service fantastic, and the atmosphere nice. I was a little dingy for the place(Sunday morning church crowd) as I had just spent the weekend camping in the mountains but none the less, the host made me feel welcome and not like some vagrant. I’ll be stopping at Humble Joe’s again.

I ate at the one in Anderson while having a tire repaired at Les Schwab across the street. I had the sourdough cheeseburger and damn if it wasn’t tasty! No, it’s not«Chez Snooty», but for classic diner fare, it’s great!

4-stars for what it is: A small town diner. Have had breakfast and lunch here several times while visiting family, and love the friendly service. Food is good as diner fare goes, and prices reasonable. Interior is a bit worn, but the owners go to great lengths to decorate it in a way that gives it some character compared to a corporate owned establishment. If you want a quaint alternative to Denny’s, give it a try.

I was traveling in town and went here based on a co-workers recommendation. This apparently is a new place that opened. It’s a classic greasy spoon kinda place. I ordered a Santa Fe sandwich. The over all presentation was good, sandwich and fries. Fries were good, crunchy and not soggy. The sandwich on the other hand was soggy, mostly beef and a little cheese. Over all it was nothing special.
