Famous Daves

We went to Dave’s last night because we always enjoy the food and the service, last night was different. The hostess was busy cleaning the tables and floor, so we had to wait, she said it would be 10 – 15 minutes. My husband said lets just go to the bar. We turned to tell the hostess but she was not to be found. We found a nice table and sat down in the bar. The waiter ignored us ummmmmm? I thought something was off. Then he came and asked if we checked in with the hostess, I said yes we did. Then he informed us that she would have to seat us there. I said «Seriously you are telling us to leave?» He nodded yes. So we got up and left right out the front door. The nice friendly Dave’s is not friendly anymore. A word to the wise, don’t go sit in the bar without permission!!!

What a fantastic Friday night experience. My best friend and I decided to search for BBQ food on Unilocal before going to a play in Yucaipa and we came across Famous Dave’s. I’ve been to Famous Dave’s in other states but never in California and never to this location.
Walking in to the, the ambiance is perfectly suited to a laid back but classy establishment. The only drawback was we were asked to put our names down on a waitlist even though there was another seating available. I don’t know why, but it struck me as weird and I’ve never come across that in all of my experiences working in the industry.
The waiter was pleasant and informative even though I think I intimated him (i’m a pretty loud, boisterous person). We got our drinks within several minutes and we’re able to place an order quickly. We decided to order a few items and share. We ordered the sampler platter, Dave’s nachos, and a chopped pork BBQ sandwich.
While waiting for our food, which took about twenty minutes in what appeared to me, an almost empty restaurant (at least it was when we put our order in), I watched the strangest thing I’ve ever observed in the this industry…
… I’ve never seen so many wait staff standing around on the clock. I kid you not… There was never less than four staff members just standing around doing nothing while another five or six walked around aimlessly. I can tell you this right now, if I ever tried to pull that at any one of the restaurant’s I worked at, I wouldn’t have a job… Anyways, back to the review.
The food was absolutely fabulous. Huge portions for a decent price and so worth it. I was so sceptical about the nachos being good but the were amazing! The brisket on the nachos was smokey and perfectly rubbed. The BBQ pork sandwich was melt in your mouth and just divine! The sampler platter was unique and delicious except that the ribs were very tough but flavorful.
During our meal, the manager came out and talked to us and gave us a little goody bag with a coupon and a bottle of Dave’s BBQ sauce. He was pleasant and it was awesome to be on his radar. I love when managers take a hands on approach.
This was the perfect place for us to have come to and we will definitely be coming back. It’s the perfect blend of a fun and relaxing adult environment and an experience that I’ll be sharing with my friends and on my blog.

Okey dokey. Seriously, the food here is delish. I live in the desert, and when we have a hankering for good bbq, we literally leave our area, drive the 1 hour to come to Famous Daves.
Ok, ok, the place is not known for its 4 diamond rating culinary, foo foo service. For that, you’re on the wrong side of town buddy. But the times I’ve been here, I’ve been treated with courtesy and down home chit chat. Bam. I came here for the food. And I’ve never been disappointed. I had the brisket, oh yeah. And Bön had the rib tips. Yessiree. Nice cold brewski and I was in bbq heaven. Like always, we sat at the bar and enjoyed good conversation with, mmm, Jennifer I think.
The only thing you’ll hate is the parking situation. Just deal with it, find a space no matter how far it is and huff it for those delish ribs.

The 4 times I’ve been here, I have never been disappointed. The portions are decent and the flavor of the BBQ is absolutely mouth-​watering.
I’ve ordered the Feast twice, once for my partner and me, and once with my family (4 members). The slightly smaller portion of the Feast was able to fill my family. It included a little bit of everything which I thought was a great deal.
The last time I went, my partner and I ordered ribs and nachos. The nacho appetizers could have easily been a meal by itself. It could probably fit a party of 4. And for the price of $ 9.99, it was definitely a great deal. The ribs came with a choice of two sides. We ordered broccoli and corn. The waiter returned with the wrong order of sides but easily fixed it for us without hesitation and allowed us to keep the other two sides. The ribs themselves were quite tender, but didn’t fall off the bone.
If you are in the IE and looking for a local BBQ joint with great service and great BBQ, this is the spot.

Came in sat at bar waited 15 minutes to get someone to tend to us. Then another 15 min to get our drinks the whole time watch our waitress bs with 2 regulars then asked if we could change A tv told that we couldn’t watch what we wanted cuz it wasn’t sport related. This place is ridiculous eating for our food still been about 15 min now.

The food is good. I lived in Memphis for a while so I guess I got used to the way their barbecue tastes out there. I ordered what Famous Daves considers Memphis style barbecue ribs but it wasn’t even close. The ribs were good, but I wouldn’t label them Memphis style. The location can get loud. When we were there we would hear an employee or employees randomly holler something; it got distracting. None of this will stop me from going again, I’m just sharing what I observed when I was there. Like I said at the beginning, the food is good. The service was ok.

We looked at the online menu prior to selecting a restaurant to dine on Super Bowl sunday 2016. We decided to get the Feast which according to online menu is 55.99. When we got to the restaurant the price was 79.99 and ALL other prices were more too. I ask to speak to manager. She adamantly refused to honor the online prices stating that «were a franchise, not corporate» (the menu had their address and phone number) this is false advertising at its best! THEN when we got our food everything was cold and the mac n cheese was gross!!! The ribs tips were nothing but fat and we’re so stale. The manager was sloppy in appearance also! Needless to say, I will never visit famous daves in redlands again… gross food, false advertising not worth it!

So dissatisfied I came here for take out. Order sampler platter waitress showed me food before I left looked fine in the dim light. Get home wings great side of pickles bomb. Go to eat fish and rib tips nice piece of hair black really not to mention to pinky sized strips of I believe it’s the catfish. Been coming here for years the hair in my food and the fish bait will keep me from coming back. I did also have a smoking tea while I waited it was fire bar service is always on point should of stuck with the bar.

Ordered half an hour ago to go. Can’t get their act together for one dinner. Don’t go. Amending. The to-​go girl really helped out and fixed the issues. Ribs were killer

We had our Christmas Eve dinner here.
Everything was perfect! The manager gave us the room in the back of the restaurant for privacy. The staff participated in arranging the tables to our liking. They brought brought in the Feasts and serves everything buffet style as we suggested. Communication with the manager was excellent. Everything was carried out as planned. The server, Crystal, was very attentive to our crowd of 25 people. The children loved when the servers came in announcing the FEAST! The food was delicious! There were a lot of compliments from our guests on the quality of the food. We were comped a free dessert… Amazing banana pudding. Love this place!!! We will return next year for Christmas Eve!!!

Worst Dining experience ever. Slowwwwww forgotten about by our waiter who was completely flustered and couldn’t get it together, food was ok. Will never return

Walked in around 3:30 p.m. and was told it would be 10 minutes before we were seated. A few tables were filled but most were empty. Once seated our drink order was taken — but it took 15 to 20 minutes to receive a beer and bloody mary. Waitress returned to take food order before drinks were delivered. Order taken but suddenly it was apparent that it was cold in the restaurant. We looked at three other tables and everyone was wearing a coat or Hoodie — many couples were huddled together. We mentioned it to our server and she agreed and told us that the fireplace had been lit earlier in the day but «they» were told to turn if off. Outside it was raining with the temperature of 49°. Later, after our food was delivered our server told us the thermostat was turned up.
A nearby table of five left but a child had spilled something on the floor. We saw the server pulling paper towels off the roll and putting them on the floor. She used almost the whole roll and once she completed wiping up the floor all the paper towels were dumped on the table along with the dirty dishes. Throughout our whole meal the table remained untouched. However, this wasn’t the only dirty table. When we arrived we saw five dirty tables and when we left we counted four of them stilled not bussed. On our way out I asked to speak with the manager. I told her it was an unpleasant site and she told me she «was so sorry. » Needless to say, we won’t be rushing back anytime soon dine in. At least we can order carry out because the food is very good.

On our way home from Camping in Joshua tree we stopped here for lunch. I have had the ribs before so this time I decided on a burger. It was excellent. Our waitress was excellent, they brought out the wrong sides and she made sure that the right sides made it out to the table right away. The only disappointed was the Mac and Cheese, it was too soupy and not cheesy.

Ordered potato with Brisket 1^st time here &it was delicious Service & Manager came & gave us free Grab bag with some bbq bottle free appetizers on our next time we come back & that’s a definite!

Waited 50 minutes for a table for 8, we still weren’t seated so we left. Absolutely no apology or empathy from the hostesses, who looked more disgusted that I would dare to ask how long until we get seated. We just wanted to end our weekend with a relaxing beer and some good food. Well be sure to pass our experience on to everybody we can.

Plenty of food for everyone, I don’t know how much it cost the company but I’m sure it was a pretty penny, worth it to see the smiles on our drivers faces. They did a good job packing everything up, It was all labeled and organized, I’ll have to visit the restaurant someday.

I give 3 stars because of the inconsistent service.
The food is excellent and the sauces are tremendous. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, whether it’s chicken, ribs, fish or beef. The BBQ is always on point. However, the service can range from exceptional to down right poor. If it’s busy inside, chances are you will get poor service as it seems volume over quality service is the priority. It truly is a shame, because the loud and boisterous atmosphere of this place when it’s crowded, lends itself very well to the «down and dirty» BBQ deliciousness. Unfortunately, we’ve decided not to go here many times, because we didn’t want to risk the poor service despite the great food. What a shame.

I love this place! The food is amazing and the service is always great! I love a good restaurant with happy employees :)

Come here for a few reasons and I’m pretty easy to please. Only barbecue I really know in Redlands that last. The wife loves their pulled pork sandwiches. And less than 2 miles away. I have learned to enjoy their food but have the hardest time getting any decent portions. Every time I come here they try to cheat me on the combos. I’m not a really big guy I just like barbecue. If you do not order a feast and you like barbecue you will be disappointed. So basically you’re into it for about $ 45 minimum or you get tastings. They do not have a good sized order for one person that is reasonable by the time your done.
Came here a week ago for take out and the same thing happened and the gal went back and added more pulled pork. Today I was told that’s how it comes!
My bad for not asking for a manager, I give them two stars.

Loved the ambiance of the restaurant. This was my first time and I had a lot of expectations after trying other places such as Lucille’s and Phil’s BBQ. The only disappointment that I had was the fact that they did not offer any beef ribs. The only options for ribs that they had were short ribs.
Aside from that, I ordered the All-​American Feast and that included a full slab of pork short ribs, bbq chicken, and beef brisket as well as corn, three sides (I chose fries, cole slaw, and mac n cheese), and cord bread. It had a little of everything that was on the menu and a great option if you are with a group of 4 – 6 people. The brisket was my favorite. The meat just melted in your mouth. The bbq sauces that they provided were also very satisfying. They also provided a big complimentary sundae for anyone that has a birthday.
Definitely would’ve given 5 stars if they had beef ribs.
