This place is kind of a shithole. The high school waiter kid was super rude. Food is mediocre.

I was a little skeptical about this place, the prices are high but I gave it a shot. Not only do they have the best boba tea ever! The food is fresh and delicious. Panda Express is crap in my opinion, this place is very authentic, and the staff is very polite and friendly.

I got the Szechuan chicken lunch special that comes with a egg flour soup and fried rice Fried rice as just cheap soy sauce plus slight egg rice, far from tasty rice. I ordered an extra steamed rice because I didn’t like it The egg flour soup was just that yellow soup with egg in it. Just salty with sesame oil type if you know what I mean. The chicken in the main dish just didn’t taste fresh. It had that frozen meat taste that wasn’t even masked by the salty sauce. I had to use a lot of sriracha to cover that up. It is definitely a place only local Redlands white people come to. To be honest, I wouldn’t really respect your palate if you liked the food here. This place is basically the definition of cheap Chinese food. I hate Panda Express but I might prefer that next time. Just being honest not mean, really. I won’t be back. But FYI the lady next to me seemed to like the food.

Not good at all. I went to this place because it was rated 4 stars on Unilocal. There must have been a change in ownership? Ordered from the lunch menu, very small portions served, the fried rice was over cooked and mushy with no vegetables in the mix. The Kung Pau beef entrée was served with very small tasteless pieces of meat and the egg roll exterior was very dark in appearance, most likely from being cooked in over used cooking oil and the inside was not fully cooked. No salt and pepper on the tables, asked for pepper and the waiter brought me pepper, no salt, didn’t even ask me if I would like salt as well. The pepper shaker did not work, took the lid off and found it completely clogged at the holes. Very disappointed? I do not recommend this place.

LOVE this place. Vegetarian heaven. It’s been a real struggle to find good places to eat in the IE — I call it a food desert. But this place was a gem of a find. I’m veg, the boy is not. Even harder to find good places where we can both get something we like. I’m so surprised by the variety of choices here. So far, I’ve tried the following(all vegetarian): Beef Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Beef, Egg Drop Soup, Pepper Steak and Pan Fried Brown Noodles with Beef. It’s not super cheap — each dish will run you $ 9-$ 12 but for the portions, it’s well worth it. The rice and noodle dishes can easily be three servings if you don’t eat a lot in one sitting. The Egg Drop soup was far too sweet the first time I got it — I like mine a little more sour, which is exactly how they made it the second time. The Pan Fried noodles were also a huge hit — I ate WAY more than I should’ve because it was SOGOOD. But fair warning that this dish was really oily and gave me serious stomach upset/bloating/gas. I’m not very tolerant to fats as is and this caused me quite a bit of GI distress. Ended up taking Pepto + GasX and then proceeded to torture myself with more leftovers because it was so good :) My only two constructive criticisms is that 1) the soy meat is a little too soft — it kind of melts in your mouth, no matter if you get beef or chicken. And I prefer my soy meat a little chewier. But in a place where vegan meat is so hard to come by, I’ll take soft soy over no soy at all. 2) Dishes like Kung Pao have more onions than meat or veggies, it seems and that’s a huge bummer because I don’t like eating tons of onions straight up. I like trying a new dish every time I come and have yet to settle on a favorite but definitely can never go wrong with the Orange Chicken, which they make a little spicy here — fantastic! The boy has also loved all his dishes(for the meat eaters reading). So far, his favorite is the sweet and sour chicken with pineapple. Just the right balance of flavors. What a find! :)

This is not an Authentic Chinese Restaurant! I have not seen any of their dishes you will find in China. They are serving food you would find in S.F. & N.Y. in 30’s through 70’s, no joke.

I love this place! The food is delicious! I love going to Chinese restaurants were you get the whole experience, Chinese music, tea, huge portions served family style and amazing authentic taste. We came to the Wok In Café on a Saturday date night and there was quite a few people there. As we ate our dinner more and more people and I see why, the food was so good! We ordered a ton of food for the two of use; shrimp chow mien, chicken chop suey, vegetable fried rice and hot and sour soup. We love a ton of veggies in our Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and hot when it came to the are not stingy with the shrimp in the chow mien, it had loads of it. The chicken in the chop suey was not gooey and chewy like some places cook it, it was real chicken lol. We had a huge pot of hot and sour soup that had 6 servings in it, the best hot & sour soup I’ve ever had anywhere. To top it off we had 3 teapots of jasmine eat to soothe the fullness of our bellies. My favorite place to Chinese food now. The staff is really nice every time we have come. The food comes out real quick and piping hot, you will leave with left overs and who doesn’t like eating cold Chinese food the next day.

I give this place 1 star for the ambiance. The food was a huge letdown. Couldn’t even eat part the plate. The waitress asked why I didn’t eat it & I had to tell her the food was awful. Normally if a patron doesn’t like the food the server or mgr will comp your drink or something. Not here. Thank god I ordered a bottled beer since it was the only thing good I ordered. Plus it took forever to get the check.

I went here for lunch based on reviews from Unilocal. When I walked in I was greeted by a young man and told I could sit where ever. The restaurant was VERY clean. I ordered the Lemon Chicken with steamed rice. I don’t really care for Chinese soup but did order the egg flower soup with my lunch meal. The soup was good and I had a few sips. The lemon chicken was AMAZING! I have a hard time finding this entrée at most Chinese restaurants and was pleased they offered it. The egg-roll was delicious but I was so stuffed from the rice and chicken I only took a few bites. The waiter was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. I would suggest coming during the day when the restaurant is quiet. Since it’s such a small space I’m guessing it could get really loud and hard to enjoy a meal. Will DEFINITELY be coming back.

I’ve been here a few times and the chicken is just really gross, it’s the main impression I’ve had each time. I had the chicken fried rice and It looks disgusting; tiny, oddly shaped nuggets that look like something other than chicken. Waayy better options in town.

We moved to the I.E. About 2 years ago and struggled to find good authentic Chinese food around the area. Im glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem in Redlands. The service was prompt and food was amazing. You can’t go wrong! As a matter of fact, I’m going to drive down there to eat right now. Writing this review made me hungry!

An excellent Chinese food restaurant. The only good one around that I know of. I had the orange chicken and fried rice, my wife had the cashew chicken, and my son had the sweet and sour pork. I sampled each and all were good. My orange chicken was the best I’ve had. My sons girlfriend had the vegetarian orange chicken and I liked that too. I will be going back. The décor and atmosphere were nice, and the waiter was good. Sil the Great out.

I hate writing about a bad experience but since my husband and I are stuck in bed with food posioning and the only place we have to look at is this restaurant, I unfortunately have to. We got the orange chicken and crab ragoons and while they seemed good the after results tell a much different story.

I love this place a lot. For the lack of good quality Asian food in the IE, this is at the top of the list for Chinese food. The service is fast, kind, and accommodating. The owner constantly walks around the tables to make sure everyone has everything they need and enjoying their experience. I have been here multiple times and even thought about having them cater my graduation dinner, but then our plans changed. They have by far, hands down my favorite egg rolls. They are sooo big, stuffed with lots of filling, & thin outside wrapping. Most places have either really small egg rolls, or big ones with less filling and really thick wrapping. Their egg drop & hot & sour soup are both really good so we usually have a hard time deciding which one to get. The fish fillet is really good along with their tofu dishes. They have great lunch specials at a reasonable price. After I proposed to my girlfriend, we came here to eat dinner, which means we like this place a lot. This place and Lotus Garden are the only good Chinese food restaurants in the IE. This is coming from a Chinese person, who loves Chinese food, and has eaten his way through Irvine, Alhambra, Monterey Park, Rowland Heights, Diamond Bar, Arcadia … you get my drift: p

The food is okay for the price. I would give it 4 stars but they had a sign outside that said, «Today’s Special: Chicken Fried Rice $ 6». I ordered it and they told me that was no longer the special. It was for Market Night. I own a business and I’m constantly amazed by how clueless other business owners are. I could never imagine myself telling a customer I wouldn’t honor an ad I placed right outside my business. Whatever, it’s their choice, and it’s my choice to leave and never go back. The funniest thing was the look on her face when I told her what was up. She was just so oblivious. She just couldn’t even fathom why I would be upset.
