Luke McRedmond Landing

I think Redmond has some of the nicest green spaces and parks around, and Luke McRedmond Landing is one such area. I’ve always accessed this area from the Sammamish Slough Trail which runs alongside the slough, and I’ve always loved this grassy meadow area, just south of the Redmond Way bridge. There’s a small stepped ramp for folks to walk their canoes or kayaks to the water, and a sweeping weeping willow across the slough to the west, with a picturesque picnic table nearby. The Landing itself, like the rest of the slough trail, has been renovated and updgraded a few years back. It still has a lovely trailed loop and expansive grassy area for folks to play frisbee or let their dogs run, but now is more tended too, and less «wild».
During Redmond’s annual «Redmond Lights» festival in December, the Landing here is ablaze with warming bonfires, XMas lights and singing choirs or entertainers.
It’s a lovely spot to break while biking or walking or jogging on the trail, to or from Marymoor or Redmond Town Center or the Woodinville wineries, etc.

Nice place to go for a change of pace. It’s quiet enough, and out of the way enough for a refreshing bit of fresh air.

I absolutely love this park and the slough trail that it connects to. Close to home, always clean and a great place to bring your dog for some exercise or even have a picnic with your honey.

Nice secluded little park. I especially enjoy the well placed picnic tables, benches, and weeping willow tree. Great place to play fetch with your dog, frisbee with friends, or to sit and read a book.
It’s rarely crowded.
Parking is free in the garage.

I love this place because it is literally my backyard! I love people watching here, picnicking, studying, and working on my tan! People take their dogs here, cycle and walk along the river trail, throw a frisbee around… the list goes on and on! I feel safe here, there’s a big grassy lawn, picnic tables, and I think an area that is even for tying up horses. There are little steps and a landing area down by the river too. not sure what it is there for (fishing, maybe? I couldnt imagine swimming there)…I will be spending a lot of time here this summer lazing on a blanket.

I learned about this park/​path through other Unilocalers. I wanted a place to walk my dog and get an opportunity to learn about areas outside of Seattle. The parking garage by this area is closed off due to construction in the area. I parked in a parking lot across the street since it wasn’t full.
Other Unilocalers are right… its not that crowded. I assume its because the park is away from a busy area and can be easily overlooked by others. II had a quite enjoyable walk with my dog. The paved path is clean. The landscape was pretty and the walk was relaxing. There are garbage cans along the way. There were birds and small animals in the area that did piqued my dog’s interest.
The signage for directions were a little bit confusing since the construction has blocked some of the paths. Obviously, the problem will go away when construction is over.

This is a great spot that many Redmond locals don’t know is there. It would be such a nice place to walk to, sit, and chat with someone special… it’s quiet, there’s a nice little «river» and a bench to sit on while you watch the cyclists and joggers and wait for the sun to go down.

Love this park! Its not great for kids, but its perfect for anyone wanting to get to the Burke-​Gilman/​Sammamish River Trail. It is located at the 1 mile marker just outside of Marymoor Park. There is always parking available and is never crowded…
