The noodle bowl I had here, fell way below my expectations. WAYBELOW, I came here fully knowing that I would be eating a cafeteria-inspired bowl of noodle soup but what I had in front of me wasn’t edible. I am not a food waster by any means, I was taught to eat every grain of rice in the bowl but despite forcing myself to eat as many bites as possible, I threw out the noodle bowl about ¾ of the way full. I ended up filling myself up on Trader Joe banana chips and chocolate almonds to get me through the day. I ordered the ChiangMai soup — which was described as a «curry» broth over noodles and chicken, garnished with herbs, bean sprouts and a fried noodle bundle. The broth was sour, which was bizarre to me… just an incredibly overwhelming lime/tumeric taste as if they poured an entire bottle of lime juice from Costco into water and served it up. I LOVE lime-chicken soup with Thai basil, which is a staple growing up. I couldn’t get past this odd combination, which lacked the curry flavor I was looking for. There wasn’t a single hint of curry, even with some curry paste I still don’t think it would have saved the fail broth. I’m also not sure what they used to thicken up the broth, but there was a clear separation that just looked unappetizing. You can see clumped up piece of broth which makes me think that an attempt at thickening the sauce up with cornstarch went extremely wrong somewhere. Being the cheapo I am, I tried to eat the pieces of chicken in my bowl before tossing the entire thing out. To my sad surprise, I was able to fish out three pieces of chicken strands and that was IT my friends. I wouldn’t recommend this place… if you want soup, I would suggest driving out to come other local spots because for the price, it’s equivalent to getting a legit bowl of phở so sui kau soup at Mike’s Noodle House instead.

Meh. My tom yum noodle bowl was highly disappointing. Dry, stringy meat and a super bland broth. I’ll stick to Typhoon the next time I want Asian food at the Commons.

I went here with a friend because we were starving and needed food asap! My friend got the wonton soup and I ordered the phở with beef. My phở was decent. I have had better. The broth seemed so-so and meat was tough, large, and dry. So sad! :(There were a lot of noodles which I loved. Usually phở has a natural spice to it, but this phở seemed bland. But I was starving so anything was good at the time. My friend said her wonton soup was decent. The wontons seemed«out of a package.» It looked decent. She said it was ok. But, like I said, we were both starving!!! I love phở and this phở did not met my expectations. I wish the beef was tender and moist. I will just have to get my phở somewhere else …
