Justin is a fantastic stylist, and the only reason i return here. But the way the front desk handles reservations and respects peoples time is an embarrassment. Make an appointment for 7pm? Oh wait, we just took a walk in, it till be an hour wait, come back tomorrow. Make an appointment for 10am? Sit and wait until 10:30. I understand mistakes and scheduling problems happen, but the difference between OK and great is recognition of these shortcomings and addressing them with the customer in a professional way. Wasting peoples time isn’t cool, and gives people time to write these while they wait.

I hardly ever write reviews, but, people always stop me and ask where I get my hair cut. I am a girl, it’s kind of long, blond, and has random layers to look a little messy. When I say Rudy’s in Redmond everyone is shocked. Justin Lant at Rudy’s. He is hands down the best person I have ever had cut my hair… I used to pay a fortune to get my hair done. Total waste. Just go see Justin at Rudy’s and you won’t regret it. I can’t speak to the others that work there, so if Justin is not there, I recommend coming back when he is, that is if you want to give me the credit for ‘your best haircut ever’ find. :)

I have to say I have finally found a salon that I love! I went in tonight with a stylist named Grace and she has accomplished what no other hair stylist has been able to do! I have always had the worst luck with hair cuts but she gave me a haircut I was excited to show off. The whole appointment went great. I had an appointment at 5 and didn’t have to wait more the five minutes before I was put into a seat. She walked me through the whole process and gave listened to everything I was looking for with my hair. She answered all my questions and made me confident about what to expect. I am already looking forward to my next appointment. I live in Mill Creek and am willing to make the drive so if you are looking for amazing customer service and an even better cut you have to go to this shop!

I made an appointment on one of their slower days, and got right in. Stylist Cat did an awesome job listening to what I wanted and giving me a totally new hairstyle. I can tell she’s been doing this for a while. I’m very happy with my haircut and would definitely go there again.

I get my hair cut roughly every eight weeks, and Rudy’s in Redmond is my go-​to barbershop. I like the atmosphere, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I normally just walk in, so I have had half a dozen different people cut my hair. I have never had a bad cut.
The two negatives are the wait times, which can be 90 minutes or more depending on the day and time, and the price of the grooming products that they sell.

The manager reached out to me and was extremely nice and helpful. She apologized for what happened and let me know that the lady at the front was new and didn’t fully know how to handle a bad hair cut situation. I was reimbursed and was given a complimentary card as well. Thank you Rudy’s for reaching out and showing that you truly care about your customers experience.

A little bird told me I was looking a bit ragged so I walked into Rudy’s for a cut. Given the Redmond storefront, I expected «downtown Redmond prices» too… but I was pleasantly surprised to find that their prices are very reasonable.
From the moment I sat down in Michaela’s chair I knew I’d found my new place. She was friendly with a genuine smile. The best part was my scalp massage though… worth the price of the whole cut all in itself.
Overall, I’m very happy with Rudy’s and especially Michaela. I’ll be asking for her by name next time I go in.

I went in for a haircut the other day and I’m really happy with the results. Rudy’s does not have the typical barber shop hours so it makes it convenient to go in whenever I need without having to take time off work.
I saw Michaela and she was friendly, fast, efficient, and did a really great job too. Oh and good looking so that was cool, what guy doesn’t like a hot girl shampooing his hair? haha You could really tell the difference in quality and training of stylists between here and super cutz. I’ll definitely be coming back.

While I have generally had OK experiences here, today was a triple fail. I came in for a 130 appointment at 1:33, and there was no record of the appointment although I had the email confirmation. The woman at the front desk promised me someone would be free within 7 to 10 minutes and so I said I would take the next available because I was really pressed for time. 15 minutes later, they gave the next available person to another walk-​in and told me my stylist had gone for a break but would be ready within a minute. Five minutes later I gave up and left. On another day when I didn’t need to be somewhere else, it might not have been so annoying. But their systems really seem fallible.

I’ve been going to Cat for years. She and the staff are super friendly and in always happy with my haircut. I highly recommend this location!

Can’t wait to move and be a regular at Rudys! I had been wanting to get a trim so I went in last week and had Grecia work on my hair. She looked to see what she was working with and recommended that I cut off 2 inches since I had so much damaged hair. I loved the location and vibe at Rudys. I absolutely loved the cut and service Grecia gave me! Check this place out!

Just had my first experience here, and — can I get real for a second — it was ~*dope*~
I booked with Liz because my fellow Unilocal pimps seemed to recommend her, and she was great. I brought in a reference image that I kinda knew wouldn’t work with my hair type, but she totally did something similar, which I’m sure was best case scenario.
Pricing is totally reasonable. It’s cheaper than Gene Juarez.
Most of the bad reviews I’ve seen are from old people who get butthurt because they have to wait as a walk-​in. C’mon son. Don’t be fooled by the «barbershop» thing. Rudy’s is a relatively upscale, high-​demand establishment, so you can’t just walk in and expect to get your appointment started right away. It’s 2015. Book online.
Good experience. I’ll be back.

I switched to Rudy’s from Great Clips, because I enjoy just being able to walk in and get a quick hair cut. Rudy’s was billed as a walk in. The first time I went, there was nearly an hour wait, but they put me on a list and told me to come back in an hour. The second time, the wait was like 2 hours. They let people call in ahead of time to get on the list and tell them when to come in. It doesn’t work so well for me because I am usually coming back from Seattle on a bus unsure of when I’ll actually get back due to traffic.
I had a nice stylist, and asked for something new and different from what I usually had. She basically told me that what I usually get is what’s in style now and works well for my hair type so I should just keep doing that. Reluctantly, I agreed, and she did her thing. We talked about pie, and traffic, and it was overall a pleasant experience. The cut was about twice as expensive as Great Clips, but it wasn’t any better quality. It was the exact same experience, with a longer wait, and a larger bill. There’s really no reason to go here over going to Great Clips.

Disclaimer; This review is for people who know the difference between a barber and a stylist.
I stopped into Rudy’s Barbershop– Redmond, as I needed a trim/shave+style for my first time trying to grow a beard, only to find out that none of the staff has a barber’s license. Which means, someone who is trained to use a straight razor for shaving and clean-​up.
The stylist didn’t really have many suggestions as to what might suit me the best and then said, you could keep a style that follows your natural hairline. She tried to ‘style’ my beard with a tiny trimmer all the while complaining that I had a really thick beard. I know I have a thick beard, which is why I wanted a barber who is conversant with using a straight razor. At which point, I asked if that is how she plans on finishing-​up and she said, none of the staff are trained to use straight razors. I wanted to walk away, but decided to stay as she had already started and I didn’t want to disrespect someone who is working hard for a living. 5 minutes and $ 12 later, I walked away having to fix what she did, with my safety razor at home.
I think this experience is analogous to a Nurse saying she is a Doctor and trying to use alternate tools /​procedures to perform a surgery.
If you are looking for a Barber in the true sense of the word, Rudy’s Barbershop is not the place to go.

Thank goodness for this place! Took my 18 month old in after a BUTCHERED haircut from a nearby kids salon. They were so sweet and accommodating to my little guy. Amber was his stylist and she did an amazing job!
I would not have thought this a place to bring a child under 2, but the experience was great and the service was on point.
Definitely coming back to see Amber!

Got my hair cut here twice so far. My first experience was pretty rough. Had to wait 1.5 hours to get my hair cut. Didn’t know they took appointments, so I just walked in and told there was a wait. Just didn’t realize how long that wait actually was. I only go here because of my usual time crunch… but I’m still searching for a hairdresser on the eastside who can just do a basic and cute haircut for longer hair. I usually pull my hair back for work too.
I’m also only giving 2 stars because of my experiences with my cut and style. The first visit I didn’t even get a style. They stylist cut my hair and partially dried it but told me because of my type of hair (wavy and it can get frizzy) and because I don’t do my hair much on my own that she would just let it air dry the rest of the way. That was a first for me. I enjoy actually having dry hair when leaving the stylist and feeling pretty. That was not the case. I had to go home and spend more time on my hair to just style it myself.
The second experience was a bit better, but my hair cut and style was still not up to a standard for what I’m looking for. The cost is close to other salons so I’ll start investing in making appointments somewhere else and spend just a bit more to actually get a cut I enjoy and to have my hair styled!

Used to be a big fan, but after watching 4 people who came in after me get called before me… not a fan anymore. I understand you can call ahead, but there was no one waiting when I got there, so I walked out after 40 minutes. The least she could’ve said was «there might be 4 or 5 people that might walk through that door that called ahead.»
For someone that gets their haircut about every 3 weeks, you’d think they’d put that type of info in their fancy computer to show some appreciation.

Hard to leave a review when you call ahead and are told Rudys doesn’t schedule appointments then when you show up with no customers in the shop you’re told the wait is over and hour because you didn’t call ahead! Um ok, guess you would rather wait for your unscheduled customers that may show up instead of taking the money of the customer standing right in front of you! Good luck with that business model!

I got my haircut here in November. I had a great experience at the one in u district and was hoping for the same here.
The lady who cut my hair, I told her I wanted a change, and I wanted layers. But nothing too short. She cut off HALF my length and left me with a blunt, straight across cut. No layers whatsoever. She pretty much gave me the same boring basic cut she had, it made me question if she was even capable of cutting hair any other way.
She didn’t even give me a straight answer when I asked home long she had been cutting hair. I’m guessing she had little experience.
Overall, I hated it, I still hate it. I’m still waiting for it to grow out. I even got comments asking WHY I DID THAT. Mortifying and embarrassing to say the least. I know it’s just hair but I had long beautiful mermaid hair before Rudy’s butchered it to shit.
It’s awful and I’ll never go back to the Redmond Rudy’s.
Waste of $ 45.
I don’t know why I left a tip.
Seriously though, everyday I cringe at my hair because I hate it so much. So, thanks a lot for making my hair suck. Obviously, I was and still am upset. And it’s been 5 months.
Would not recommend. I’ve gotten better cuts at super cuts.

Rudys is a GREAT place to get you’re haircut!
I was in need of a new barber spot, due to the fact that I just moved here from outta state so I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.
I literally live right down the street so i couldn’t go wrong with the location, super close and convenient. I love the environment when you walk in. Such a warm welcoming and cool down to earth staff.
Only downfall id have to say is the pricing, I did a short trim cut and the price was 29 $ for a quick and easy trim.
Other than that. Good experience. Bad pricing.
