I love coming here! Large menu with lots of choices. I like to eat something new here every time and I have never been disappointed. Still lots more to try and discover. I come here for lunch with a friend and order two plates off the dinner menu for bigger portions.

I love this place! I eat lunch here every time I am in Redmond. Hand shaven noodles, spicy soups, just great Asian cuisine!

Great place to grab lunch. It’s almost always slammed but they usually get us in and out pretty quick. My go to is the wild chili pork but you can’t go too wrong.

No service, and unimpressive dishes. I’m not sure why this place has 4 stars . I guess I can’t trust Unilocal anymore.

I’ve been here twice for lunch, once during the week and once on the weekend. The food is great! I’ve had the hand shaven noodles, sizzling beef, garlic string beans, and prawn with hot garlic sauce. I’m docking this place one star because the restaurant itself smells like a wet rag.

Ordered Szechuan beef to go and it was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever tried to eat. The beef was overcooked to the point of being like chips, the vegetables were overcooked and mushy. This was my first time trying this place’s food and will be the last. Stay clear.

Amazing!!! Our typical dishes are crispy Mandarin chicken, twice cooked pork, and garlic string beans. My friends and family are all obsessed with this place! The only downside is the service isn’t always %100 but it doesn’t stop us from going.

First time here, ordered the hand shaved noodles for my toddler, half way through she spit something out and it was a rusty crooked nail! Yes you heard right! All we got was a” sorry, we were not careful”. They changed the plate and brought her a fresh order. They didn’t even have the courtesy to not charge us for the dish or have the manager come to our table. What would have happened if my girl had swallowed that nail?! Needless to say, we will not be returning!

Don’t let the appearance outside fool you! Spicy Talk Bistro is a hole-in-the-wall treasure of a restaurant. The food is delicious! My boyfriend and I were regulars at szechuan chef, but the quality of the food there deteriorated fast and we were so sad as it was a favorite place. When we found out the original owners sold it and opened up spicy talk, we were thrilled! The food was exactly how we remembered. We ordered hot and sour soup, dry cooked string beans and mandarin crispy tofu. The tofu was perfectly crispy with the right amount of spice to sweet ratio. The string beans were crunchy, fresh and full of flavor. The hot and sour soup is by far the best we’ve had in both Redmond and Bellevue! Attached are some photos after we served ourselves.

This is my favorite place for Chinese food in Redmond. Every single thing that I have ordered or tasted at this restaurant is delicious. They don’t lie about the«spicy», either. The Ma Po Tofu! The Wild Chili Chicken! The Eggplant in Hot Garlic Sauce! I’m getting hungry just thinking about them. If you have a cold, order the Dan Dan Hand Shaven Chicken Noodle Soup. I have decided that it is the perfect form of chicken noodle soup when I am feeling sick. It is warm. It is comforting. And it has so much spice in it that it will clear your head out far faster than chugging Nyquil ever could. They have a few large tables, and can usually accommodate pretty big groups without a wait. Spicy Talk does a nice job with takeout, too. I ordered a HUGE amount of food once for a birthday party, and everything was made as requested, well-packaged, hot and ready right on time. The gal at the front desk even helped me lug it to my car.

Nasty service. Overall a very chaotic experience. Waiter doesn’t come on time to take orders(and this is when we, party of 12, arrive for lunch at 11:30 am when there’s no one else), no question about drinks, food comes late, chef comes and hands out orders but completely botches it(mixing up almost every order) with a rather rude«I don’t know what you ordered, just take it». Food was under-cooked. Would stay away from here.

We thought of trying out this place as we have seen good reviews about it. We ordered the salt and pepper pork ribs. They were tender and tasty! We also had the honey walnut shrimps– they were big shrimps and taste great. And lastly had the curry chicken fried rice which is not so bad. Only that, they could have placed more chicken mear in the fried rice. Serving size was good enough for the price value. Food delivery was surprisingly fast than any other chinese restaurant ive been to. What im concerned about is the layout of the place. The big bucket where they place the dirty dishes should be hidden somewhere instead of lying in a place where customers could see where they dump dirty plates and glasses. Generally, our experience was good.

Oh glorious Spicy Talk… let me count the ways in which I love thee. I grew up in Redmond and didn’t now about Spicy Talk for far too long. A non-Asian friend recommended it to my mom and, let’s be real, we took that recommendation with a small grain of salt(ok, maybe bigger. I know, we bad). Regardless, that friend also has a notoriously well-cultured palette so we decided to try it out. Spicy Talk is in an unsuspecting little strip mall by Frankie’s pizza in downtown Redmond. It’s small and the outside doesn’t look like anything special but I’ll admit the interior is really well done. Now, let’s get down to business. WHATARETHENOMSLIKE? Szechuan Beef Hand Shaved Noodle — If you want kung pao chicken or whatever the hell, please go elsewhere. If you’re at THIS Szechuan restaurant you really should try their specialty which is the hand shaved noodles. To be honest, I haven’t experienced such a well textured hand shaved noodle since I had it in Xi’An, China. It was kind of an out of body experience eating it again… This noodle soup is spicy. You’ll see the famous Szechuan chili peppers floating around doin their thang. Don’t eat them. They are there to look at, you’ll taste it in the broth as it is. Beef COULD be more tender. I’ve had some tender beef noodle soup at Toy’s Café(Bellevue) and that stuff is dank/dope/delish. Fish and Soft Tofu in Hot Spicy Gravy — Spicy Talk has A LOT of seafood hot spicy gravy things but I always order this one. Maybe I’m boring I always order the same dishes… but when it’s that good and you’re experiencing specific cravings you have to obey your tummy. I like this dish mostly for the tender fish pieces. I like piling the tofu and fish over rice. The gravy is good but not slurp worthy. Sauteed Cabbage — Who knew cabbage thrown around in a wok with other things could be so damn tasty. This is a great dish to add in with the«heavy» beef noodle soup and fish tofu gravy. This is a top favorite to my mom. I have eaten in but almost always order out(not sure why actually… maybe I like eating at home like a whale on my couch). I’ve never waited longer than 15 min for my food. They are FAST.

Dishes you won’t find anywhere else, and if you LOVE spicy, this place is your nirvana. At one point, the spice from something they were cooking in the kitchen was so intense that the fumes caused many of us in the dining room to cough. It was like toxic gasses. Little kids walking in the door were rubbing their eyes. Still, the food was unique and good. Can’t wait to go back.

I think this is overpriced for the amount of food you receive. I have eaten at several Szechuan restaurants(although only one up here) and this probably ranks as one of the lowest. Not that the food is bad. It is quite good and seems authentic. But it is a little pricey and the eggplant dish was way too oily. I know Szechuan food is known for its use of chili oil, but I’ve had this before at other restaurants and this one made me feel a little sick afterwards. Granted, I ate way too much of it. because my husband refused to eat it after a few bites. We also ordered a fish dish, which was very good. Even the kids liked it. Hot and sour soup was also very good. Still, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. There are plenty of other Szechuan restaurants in the area still to try.

5 stars for the hand-shaven noodles alone. INLOVE, won’t share, don’t care. *hides leftovers from husband* The hub and I came for lunch on a Sunday after a recommendation from his sister. She said it was better than his favorite noodle/pot sticker restaurant in Seattle, so here we are. It was early, shortly after they opened, and the restaurant was about 1⁄3 full at this point. Food — We promptly ordered the house-special chow mein w/their homemade shaved noodles(shaved noodles, what does that mean, I know, that’s what I thought too), the twice-cooked pork because I saw that mentioned a few times in other Unilocal reviews and their house pot stickers. Noodles — like I said, to die for. Just enough spice, amazing flavor and huge, long slabs of noodles which appear to be shaved off a big noodle block or something. Flavor was amazing. House special comes w/beef, chicken and shrimp I believe. Twice-cooked pork was okay. We ordered it as the lunch special so it came w/rice and soup. Pork was thin and tasted like 5-spice seasoning. I wasn’t in love, but it was pretty good. Bursting w/flavor. And lastly the pot stickers. The wrappers were thin, which I really like. I don’t like the thick, doughy types my husband does. They looked boiled and then maybe pan fried, so they were a bit crispy and delicious. I’d order them again. Service — I read some reviews on iffy service, but we had zero issues here. Our server was friendly and efficient. Patient as well, since we had a hard time deciding on whether or not we wanted the lunch sized pork or the full sized. Food came out pretty quickly, despite there being a handful of larger groups before us. By the time we left it was pretty full and busy at around 1:30p on a Sunday afternoon, but tables opened up quickly it seemed. I think we’ve found our new fave Chinese restaurant on the Eastside. NOOOOOOOODDDDDDLES!!!

Finally got to knock this place off my bucket list after reading that a famous chef in the area loved frequenting here. We ordered the spicy dan dan noodles. I loved the hand shaven noodles but wasn’t a fan of the soup. It wasn’t spicy at all and tasted a lot like peanuts… Green onion pancake was fantastic and addicting! Honey walnut chicken was first presented with prawns which my friend is allergic to. Upon telling the waitress they brought the wrong meat, she gave us a hard time about it, but finally served us chicken. Overall, portion sizes were huge and food tasted pretty good here. Am curious about the Mongolian beef dish for next time since we missed the spicy in this place, though my friend and I did have a great talk! Lol

The Mongolian beef here is to die for. I order it every time, without fail, and use the extra sauce to pour over my noodles. Portions are generous, anything labeled spicy does have some kick, and the staff is awesome. It’s a hole in the wall in the best way. Good food, friendly staff, and my order is never wrong. I’ve done takeout, 15 person table everyone wants something differ order, and girls night out. Food is on point every time. Worth checking out if you’re in Redmond.

This place never disappoints. Very unique flavors, totally different from other chinese restaurants around Seattle. The portions are generous too. I keep wanting to try new menu items all the time, but can’t resist ordering«the usuals», such as the seafood sizzler. The honey walnut shrimp is something else! Definitely enjoyed how crispy it was, yet with a traditional sweet glaze. The wild chili pork is amazing too! Can’t wait to add more favorites to my list!

Spicy Talk Bistro is your destination for authentic Sichuan place in Kirkland. After reading so many positive reviews on Unilocal we decided to come here for lunch. My coworker ordered Kung Pao chicken lunch special and I ordered their Dan Dan chicken noodles. My noodles was delicious, the broth was good and spicy. My co-worker told me the best Kung Pao he ate so far. A few tips: This place filled up very quickly so get there early. We got lost trying to find this place because they located in a corner of a strip mall on a one way street. Accept credit card but medium of $ 10 dollar Inside is pretty dark Don’t expect for Michelin Star service. Come here for the food and you will leave full and satisfied.
