I had the salmon with jasmin rice and grilled zucchini. salmon was dry and lacked flavor despite having all the Cajun stuff slathered on it… up top was ur average fish and chips. the side sauces helped a bit but I wouldn’t go back to eat here. nothing extraordinary! Too bad because I was really wanting seafood this afternoon!

Excellent food and perfect service. I would highly recommend everyone to check this place out. The bill was only $ 29. 00 including $ 4.50 from kids menu. Where else you will pay that much to feed 2 ½ people.

I came here for dinner with my friends around 7pm on a Wednesday. There was a steady amount of customers coming in and out(but it got busier later). You order at the counter and find your own seating. There is a nice gentleman that comes around quickly to clean up the tables after people are done eating. For a first timer, there is a lot going on on their menu and it can be difficult to figure out what you want. They also give you a plate of chips plus a small bowl of ceviche after you sit down(that’s why people talk about the free ceviche). We had no idea so we ended up ordering an actual order of ceviche which is basically what they give you for free except more(see my picture for size comparison). For my entrée, I went with the plate because it gives you a main seafood item + 2 sides so you can have some variety. With the plates, you choose your seafood, the rub or sauce(so many options…), and two sides. I got the ahi tuna(rare) with lime aioli sauce with grilled corn and grilled zucchini(+$ 1.50). My sister got the Hawaiian ono with jasmine rice and sweet potato fries(+$ 1.50). I enjoyed my ahi tuna because the quality of fish was good and the portions were generous(almost like a fish steak). I liked the grilled corn but the grilled zucchini and sweet potato fries were just OK. I got to try some of the hawaiian ono and thought it was slightly overcooked, but maybe it just felt that way compared to my rare ahi tuna. Overall, the quality of the food was good and the prices were really reasonable($ 10 – 15).

Free ceviche to start with 8 different salsas. Fisher’s plate that’s a classic batter. The shrimp appetizer had more spices than shrimp. All good things in concept but this restaurant is at the level of your Olive Garden and Chilli’s. I guess I was expecting more from all the rave reviews. The Fisherman’s catch is $ 14. At Fishing with Dynamite, the fish and chips is $ 16. Yes, FWD gives you a little less but makes it up with quality. Fisherman’s Catch here is what I’ve been talk like Long John Silver. So shouldn’t we have eaten at LJS instead? The staff and the servers were stellar. The customer service is top notch and authentic, however, the food doesn’t make up for it.

This place is insanely good. *CALAMARI* Appetizer was awesome. Lime aioli was so yummy. *CEVICHE* Off the hook. Not fishy-gamely, just a good taste of fresh white fish and a hint of lime & cilantro. OMG, I would go back just for this. *HAWAIIANONO* Grilled w/herb & garlic scented butter. This was, beyond a doubt, the BEST piece of fish I’ve ever had in my entire life. It was grilled to perfection. Firm, but not dry… upon touch it had a little give, but it would bounce right back. The sauce was perfect with it. It’s as if the fish itself said, «Here…this is exactly how you should prepare me.» Service was outstanding as well. People who I could tell enjoyed their job. Maybe the owners. Seemed like it. I’ve been to many top seafood places. For fresh fish, this one goes to the TOP of my list.

A-OK. The service was five stars, though. I got the shrimp and chips and it was just ok. The fries and shrimp weren’t omg amazing and weren’t omg gross. My boyfriend said his salmon plate was good, but nothing wow. He loves the salmon plate at California Fish Grill. I’ve ordered the fried shrimp at California Fish Grill and prefer that shrimp over this one. But! You get free ceviche when you dine in and the ceviche was bomb! I should’ve just ordered that as a meal. The cashier and guy who brought our food and ceviche were super friendly. I would def come and just try something else, like their fish or something, but wasn’t feeling fish last night.

If you love seafood, it doesn’t get much better than Bluesalt. They offer fresh seafood options with yummy sides and desserts, on the daily. This is one of my go-to spots when I don’t feel like cooking. It is a guilt-free meal that usually tastes great, and doesn’t make me feel unhealthy. They have their regular items, which are always delicious: shrimp, scallops, sea bass, octopus… and they have their daily specials which are also always good. Their clam chowder is also yummy and the complimentary ceviche they offer to each table is also good. The only bad news… the ceviche goes fast! They also have a pretty sweet salsa bar so that you can munch on chips while you wait for your food. The chips are for the ceviche, but they give you more chips for the salsa bar. They offer a ton of different seasoning options like Cajun, and lemon pepper, but I tend to keep it simple because I like to taste the seafood. I really like their cajun rub, and I love garlic, so I love that too. My favorite sides have to be their rosemary potatoes, and the grilled zucchini. Again… it’s simple, but it’s yummy. They also have a nice selection of desserts that I haven’t tried yet because I’m always full when I leave here, but I have the crème brulee cheesecake on my hit list, and I will crush it someday. It’s a no-frills meal where you order at a counter, grab a number, and wait for your food at the table, but it costs what it would at a sit-down/dine-in restaurant. I like that they have outdoor seating though. It’s nice for those of us who like to dine with our pups. The food here is simple and fresh, but that’s just the way I like it. I remain a loyal customer because of it.

This is absolutely an amazing place. Just 3 steps to follow and you will enjoy your food. PIck your fish then choose your rub and third, you choose your side dishes. Simple and fast if you know what you want. We got rare(it should be) ahi tuna with no rub but I chose the aioli sauce and coleslaw with a side of grilled zucchini. We also had yellow tail, corn and rice. Their fish ceviche was really tasty too. It was a little packed at noon time of Saturday but we found our seats fast. They also have a wide selection of wines.

First time here. Service was on point. They smile & actually engage with you. I order the crabs cakes. It’s an appetizer but wow the plate seemed like a meal. Crab cakes are delicious. The seasoning was perfect. It comes with a small fresh salad. I also ordered the fish taco plate. The fish itself was bland. But the sauce & seasoning on top makes up for it. The fish tasted very fresh. It comes with a side of yellow rice & black beans with corn. Delicious! There’s also a small salsa bar. I only tried the green salsa. Very spicy. Would defiantly come back here again. With my money.

This place is magical! This is not your typical fish grill. Here is the lay down: You start by ordering at the counter. Ordering from the grill has a 3 step process. 1) choose your fish or shrimp. 2) choose your spice rub or sauce too flavor your fish or shrimp. 3) choose your 2 sides. Some of the sides are additional cost, so choose wisely. If you are over 21 don’t for get your beer or wine. After you order, grab a table, inside or out. Place your number out where they can see it easy. They will bring you a complementary appetizer of ceviche(marinated fish and salsa) and chips. This is a small appetizer, but it’s FREE and delicious! I don’t know any other place that does this. Finally don’t forget to get dessert. Wait in line again you say? Not necessarily… We asked our waitress her opinion about the desserts and before I could get up to get in line, she said«Don’t worry about getting in line. I’ll bring your dessert and Bill to you. You can pay at the register when you are ready.» The service was quick and curtious. The food was fresh and flavorful. It makes a bad day better and a good day spectacular! I had the Mahi Mahi with lime aoli sauce, jasmine rice, and french fries. I ended the experience with the crème brule cheese cake. Love this place!

The quality of the food for the price is so good that this was the first time in my life that I’ve been to the same place for dinner 2 days in a row! I was in the area and found it on Unilocal and lucked out with the ratings. The food is really well cooked! I would recommend the rubs. The only thing I didn’t like was a corn side, which I am pretty sure the corn was frozen and hence had a very chewy like texture vs. crunchy and sweet. The veges are good, the slaw was great and the garlic potatoes were amazing.

I was just in the area and it was a dinner time, so I just randomly Unilocal a decent place to grab a quick bite near by, then I found this place. Everything I tried tonight was delicious, cooked perfectly, ingredients were fresh, nothing was salty or too greasy. I got salmon platter with grilled zucchini and cous cous. They just cooked everything juicy, yet crunchy(zucchini), super fresh and bland! Cous cous was so fluffy and soft. Salmon just melted in my mouth. Calamari side served in a generous portion, I liked they used light batter and small(baby) calamari, so they were very soft. I liked the sweet herby dipping sauce that was served with the dish. Fish and chips. Fries were just whatever, but the fish was light crispy tempura beer battered, and fish inside was very juicy and clean. The tail parts were a bit dried and hard tho. I liked the curry yogurt, green pepper salsa(?), tomato salsa sauce and vinegar from the condiment bar. Dip anything(especially deep fried food) in vinegar, it is just to die for!!! Oh, the coleslaw was light on the mayo, sugar, fresh and crunchy. Neat and casual place with a friendly service. grab a seat after ordering, table turn around is pretty quick so not too stress about it. I think this place is one of the best among other similar concept of casual fish restaurants.

For my first time here I was very impressed. The food is pretty good and the staff makes you feel welcomed. I ordered my food to go and took a seat at the tables. The staff brings u ceviche or chips and salsa with your meal as you staying to eat. They even offered to give me some as I waited which I thought was cool. My meal was very good. It was a thick cut piece of catfish with fries. This restaurant is in a small parking lot but at least they have a parking lot. My only down side to this place is that they don’t really have a place or space where you can sit to wait for ur to go order.

I lost track after six visits but the best way to sum up Bluesalt Fish Grill, generously satisfying healthy food with a variety of fish, dry rub, sauce, and side combinations topped with a very satisfying quality of hospitality and deliciousness. Looking past the complimentary ceviche, this place provides a fantastic opportunity to try a variety of different kinds of fish in order to develop a better understanding of what your favorite type of fish is to eat. PLEASEKEEPINMIND that the different rubs and sauces offer a different or complimentary flare to the fish which also means depending on the fish you order. For example, ahi tuna with Moroccan rub or snapper with cajun butter might not be the best combination to enjoy but that’s the whole point. Don’t expect the first combination to be the best unless you have tried a sample of the sauce/rub or know what you’re diving in to. With that mentioned, it’s definitely worth a try to order one of their more expensive fish meal specials. They come every so often and they change frequently. NOTE: If the special states«any two sides,» it means any of the sides that cost a little more will still cost a little more and are not included in the total. What about the sides? Unfortunately I have not tried any of the popular grilled zucchini, but I can share with you the other sides in my favorite order: 1. Garlic rosemary potatoes 2. Grilled corn with pepper 3. Cous cous 4. Coleslaw 5. Jasmine rice 6. House Salad 7. French Fries Each to their own taste but the garlic rosemary potatoes are hands down my favorite. The french fries, come on. There’s couscous and corn! And don’t forget about the other sides like the pickled habanero red onions, the tarter sauce, salsa, an entire… it’s not a salsa bar because there’s way more than just salsa. In the end it boils down to Bluesalt offering you the varieties while you choose what compliments what, or more like, what do YOU want with and on top of your fish? This is a great place to explore combinations. Not too long ago I ordered catfish with cajun spice and a side of fries and colesaw because I know that combination is awesome! But seriously, smell out the dry rubs, recommend a good sauce on a specific fish, and definitely try the garlic rosemary potatoes.

Oh my, the whole fish special for $ 13.95 is a must! Unilocalers who ordered it convinced us to try it the other night. The skin was crispy and the fish itself was moist and flavorful. And don’t forget to use their text offer to get $ 4.00 off $ 20.00. Details are at the counter and you get the discount immediately!

I came here on an afternoon for lunch and to my surprise, it was not as crowded as I thought it would be! Since recent I have been eating a lot of grilled fish/seafood places like Bluesalt but this was definitely the first one I had in the South Bay area… And let me say this, it was definitely worth the money. Environment — the restaurant faces south and there was absolutely no need for any lights to be turned on because the storefront received such great natural light! The whole place had a light and airy feel to it; it really brought comfort and and warmth to my dining experience. There are plenty of tables to choose from but I definitely wouldn’t bring a bigger party than 4 people here. It seems like a very good place for the family as well! Let’s hope your kids like seafood haha Service — the cashiers were really nice and able to give recommendations when asked. I sort of had bad encounters with the servers because I had two waitresses physically run into me during my time there… I’m not sure if it’s my fault but I’m just saying. haha Food — You definitely have to be a seafood lover to come to eat at this place. if you aren’t, then please don’t come in here. I know that a lot of people have likings to salmon, but I ask that if you’re going to pay this much for seafood, you might as well venture out and try something you’ve never tried before. They also serve beef here too haha I think it’s those poop-y friends of ours who come along and dislike seafood. booooo. 1) Barramundi — part of the white fish category. The meat is very soft, flakey, and does not have a seafoody stench to it. I would recommend getting this one because I haven’t see it in a lot of fish grill places and it’s a very safe choice for those who aren’t as adventurous as others. 2) Catfish — also a white fish and a safe fish to choose as well. I remember eating this fish a lot as a child because it was one of the cheaper fishes. This also shows in the price because it’s only $ 10 for a full plate. Safe choice. 3) Ceviche — comes free with the meal alongside some chips. The ceviche itself was watery but it was very flavorful. It fortunately did not taste like the ocean. I’m not sure if you can get a free re-fill of it when you’re done, but i wouldn’t even bother them since they decided to get out FREE ceviche. 4) Rosemary potatoes — these cute thingies. you can never go wrong getting these as one of your sides. 5) Corn — I love corn except this was a little bit too peppery for me. I had to take a drnik of water every couple of bites haha. it certainly made the meal a little less enjoyable because of the overpowering pepper. I have seen good reveals for this so I wouldn’t dismiss this side the next time. Overall, I think this is a nice, small seafood place to go to for lunch. I know it’s not next to the ocean or anything, but it has good quality fish with free ceviche!

This is probably one of the best grilled fish places I’ve had. I’ve tried quite a few of their fishes and they’re all grilled to perfection. Each one that I’ve tried I haven’t been disappointed with. I do personally like their swordfish. When in doubt, feel free to ask them and they’ll be glad to tell you about the different fishes in their menu. You order your meal at the counter and find a seat. As soon as you sit, they provide you a complementary ceviche and chips. They also have a small selection of sauces that you can get at the bar to accompany your meal. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so seating and especially the parking could be very challenging. yet despite this, I’ve just learned to cope with it, or find non-peak times to come in and dine. Bluesalt is definitely worth trying if you are in the area and craving grilled fish.
