Worst place ever. The restaurant next door did not have any seats left so, this was my only choice. Food was horrible as if it was just warmed up. Overcharged me and said that I owed them money. They don’t give out receipts either. All of the customers were mad due to the terrible service. Also, how does this place have a A rating in health?! Everything is dirty here.

My family and I ended up eating at this place because other restaurants were packed. Got seafood combo plate, fries, and teriyaki combo plate. Portions were very small and it tasted horrible. SERVICEWASHORRIBLEASWELL The cashier refused to give us a receipt and he overcharged us –_– Many other customers were complaining about the quality of food and service too. I WILLNEVEREVERCOMEBACK

Where to start… On the day they were selling Churros for $ 2 I got charged $ 2.50. Not first time I’ve been over charged. I have paid different prices for same items depending on what person is working. Not only did I get overcharged for the churro, it was the darn coldest one I’ve ever had. How can you seriously not tell it was below room temperature? Hope this place runs out of business in favor of a more trustworthy and respectable restaurant. PS — they won’t accept debit card purchases for anything under $ 5

Food was ehhh… service was horrible, this is the type of place you go to when your drunk or high and just want something to eat and everything else around it is closed… so you look at the person or persons you’re with and say…“You just want to eat here?”

I have been going to this establishment for around fifteen years on a pretty regular basis, never having any problems with their food. Tonight was different. I ordered the seafood combo and my plate looked nothing like the picture, or any of the other seafood combos I have ordered at this establishment. Gone were the cod fish fillets, and in their place were fish nuggets. The large shrimp were replaced with popcorn shrimp. The only thing that did not change was the price. I have noticed in the last five years, many of the restaurants on the upper pier are selling out to the tourism, and lowering their quality of food. I will never eat here again, and too bad, the food was very good at one time!

Was at the pier and ended up eating at this place. Ordered the seafood plate with shrimp, fish, fries, and coleslaw. This place has been around for 37 years and the fries tasted like they’ve been around just as long. The coleslaw was nasty. Tasted like lettuce was put in a mayonnaise jar and taken out as is. Totally overpriced and wouldn’t recommend going back again.

Over priced up the ass, but I was desperate. I came here for some clam chowder, but they ran out of bread bowls. The woman tallied it up as if I was gonna buy a sourdough. «No no, you said you were out of bread, remember?» She said sorry and I told her to just give me a small one. She wound up charging and giving me an XX bowl. Ok, fine. I was hungry anyway. I didn’t want to argue because it didn’t seem like she or the cook spoke English that well. When I tasted the chowder, it tasted like week old canned soup. .99 cents store expired chowder. It was chewy and gross at times, I can’t believe I finished it. Sucker cost me $ 6.49. It was cold that night, so at least they had a little lounge where you can warm up in. My friend and I took great advantage of that. Don’t bother with the Clam Chowder, it gave me bad gas and indigestion. Spare yourself, your wallet and your toilet the agony.

Meh… that about sums up my experience here. We were looking for a place to eat during prime dinner time and all of the other restaurants were packed with a long wait time except this place.(Yes, I get that this is a walk up place… but they do have seating too.) I suppose the fact that their seating area was under construction didn’t help my experience to be any better. However, the guy who delivered my food looked homeless. I don’t just mean like he wasn’t well dressed or hair unkempt, but literally like they offered a homeless guy work right off the street since they were short handed. I’m all for supporting the homeless, but not when it comes to the handling of my meal. And maybe he was just a grubby dude, still, not the best representation of your restaurant. The food was just ok, nothing exciting or worth complaining about. I won’t be coming back.

This is one of the eateries at the Redondo Beach Pier. You walk up and give your order, get the food when it’s ready, & sit at one of the outdoor metal tables & chairs. I had the fish plate, which comes with 5 pcs of fried fish… don’t know what kind, a tad of cole slaw, & some fries. The fish was OK. The batter they use doesn’t have any flavor. For $ 10 a plate, it’s a bit overpriced for the portion size and the lack of flavor, but I guess these places have to make their money in this touristy-type area. I also tried the fried calamari rings, which was a little more fried than I would have liked, so it was a bit hard, but the calamari wasn’t tough at all. It was so-so. I even had one of my boyfriend’s fried shrimp. You would think the seafood would taste better at the beach, but this place wasn’t. It all would have had zero flavor without the tarter sauce, ketchup, & hot sauce they have.

I like the chicken tacos here. The fish sticks are also good here. 80% of the time the fish sticks are good and the rest they are just so so. thats the reason for the 4 star review instead of 5. My chicken tacos have been good here 100% of the time though. I only eat here. i get my gatorade at the business next door or i get a hot dog on a stick cherry lemonade.

Tried the fried clams. Very tender and tasty. Service was quick. They packed it very well for a to-go order. The guy at the counter was very friendly and was able to give me just clams with no fries. Good value for the money.

It wasn’t that good. Had to wait in a long line that took forever. Wasn’t worth the wait. We had the grilled shrimp(that u had to pill the shell off didn’t realize that before i ordered) and fried fish. Orderd a funnel cake to go and basically inhaled that. I would order the funnel cake again although I did get sick later that being the last place I ate, so idk… I don’t have the strongest immune system. :(

Yummy fried food! We had the seafood combo and it was really great. How can you mess up fried fish and shrimp? The cocktail sauce was good, it had a little spicy zing to it. I saw a kid walk away from Charlie’s with a funnel cake topped in strawberries and whipped cream with 3 piles of soft serve on top. What the??? That’s genius! I wish we’d tried it but the fried food was enough gut busting for one day. Yes, prices are on the higher side but we were tourists, so we expected it.

typical fried foods. nothing special. we had the fried shrimp + fries. rather pricey since it’s on the boardwalk. you don’t get much shrimp(which is typical) but you really don’t get many fries either. just one of those boardwalk things you have to do to make the day complete. beers are gigantic — 32oz for 4.50.

Well, maybe 1.5. I guess rent on the pier must be high or something, because they charged $ 9 for a small handful of the skinniest calamari rings I’ve even seen, buried inside huge coats of breading, along with a bunch of fries. $ 9? Really? We also had a pretzel for $ 2.50(ok pretzel, basically they took a frozen pretzel and microwaved it), and a churro for $ 2. I actually kind of liked the churro, but I can’t get over the amount of money we paid for basically a plate of fries along with a few scrawny rings of calamari and lots of breading.

this place is pretty decent. i mean pretty much everything your going to eat at the Redondo Beach pier is gonna be fired right, so you cant be to critical. so for fired food it gets a B. my favorite plate is the shrimp plate. because its not too greasy and it gives you a good portion of food.

Well, everything to eat at the Pier is fried, fried, and more fried, so what can I really expect, right? Still though this place looked like it would be good, like that greasy so bad for you, but still awesome food you only eat every now and then, but nah it was just not good. We ordered the popcorn shrimp plate, that comes with shrimp, fries, and a little tiny side of coleslaw. The shrimp was way smaller than the ones in the picture, lol. The fries were gross, they were steaming hot, but not fully cooked all the way through, so they just tasted weird. The ketchup was mixed with hot sauce or something, because it did not taste right either, wtf?! So yea this place was a bummer, I was pretty disappointed. I was really expecting some awesome fried seafood. Next time I’m at the pier I won’t be eating here again.

I’ve been coming to this place since I was a kid. over 30 years! Love their seafood combination platter. At our last visit, the owner was very generous and offered an extra piece of fish on each of our platters along with a couple of drinks on the house. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
