The food, ambiance, and service here are amazing! This is by far my favorite restaurant in the South Bay! Favorites include the filet mignon, seafood artichoke dip, and their desserts are all great!

I went there this past Friday to celebrate an early Father’s Day dinner with me and 7 others… we had a reservation for 7pm and were seated right away. Once seated it took over 30 minutes to get the drinks we ordered. Appetizers came out and turned out to be the highlight of the evening. We all ordered different variations of the prime rib and filet. The food took OVER an HOUR to come to table. The restaurant was busy but not anywhere close to being busy enough to excuse such a long wait time. Our waitress was sweet, but wasn’t very attentive, I will say I feel a bit guilty for mentioning her since she was pregnant, but at the end of the day we came their for a nice celebratory meal and expect a certain level of service. When paying the prices that Kincaids charges, If the server can’t perform at that level of service then maybe she should just take an early maternity leave. Once the food FINALLY arrived the disappointment continued… How they can charge almost $ 50 per plate with the portion size and flavoring they bring to the table is beyond me. The meat was flavorless, dry and just overall boring. The crab legs were terrible, and the lobster tail was barely edible, thank god I had butter to try and taste some flavor. Looking back now, not sure why we even bothered with desert after being disappointed with everything this far, but we did. My brothers girlfriend order a chocolate martini along with our other desert orders. After about 15 minutes of waiting, the waitress came over and asked how she wanted it, she gave her the choices of creamy as it was described in the menu or clear… The difference being the baileys or some liquor similar to that to create a sweeter, creamery drink which is how she wanted it. So she told the waitress she preferred it to be as described in the menu, the creamy version… then another 20 minutes passed by, that’s 35 in total now waiting for desert and her chocolate martini. The desert came out and also came a CLEAR chocolate martini!!! Even with the waitress coming out to ask our preference it STILL came out wrong… And let me remind you this is also different from what is described in THEIR menu! So that was our dining experience, the bill came out to $ 600+ and we paid and tipped with 20%. my mother has worked as a waitress all her life, so I can’t bring myself to tip poorly even when it’s deserved… I should have probably complained to the manager about the long wait times, the poor service, the terrible food AND the wrong martini, but I didn’t. I paid the check and will NEVER, EVERBECOMINGBACKTOKINCAIDS. It’s WAY over priced for the food and service they are providing. It’s a shame to see what once was a great place turn into what it is now. DONOTGOTOKINCAIDS, I REPEAT, DONOTGO!

I really wanted to like this place. I’m assuming what you’re paying for is the location and the view, because the food was mediocre at best… especially for how much we paid. There are a lot of great restaurants with amazing food popping up all over the South Bay who don’t charge as much as this place. So, if you want a solid spot for drinks with the sunset, then by all means… but, if you’re in the mood for good food, try someplace else.

My review is quite simple… The food was quite unremarkable. If you are willing to pay a high price for very average food to have a great view maybe it is worth it. The service was great!

The patio overlooking the ocean is amazing. Such a wonderful view of Redondo beach! The staff is just as delightful– very cordial to say the least!!! We danced through the front doors,(my BEAUTIFUL girlfriend and I) and were full of vibrance and excitement. We were graciously greeted by what what I would refer to as the«coolest» manager EVER!!!(she also gave a lil shimmy shake!!). Being in the«industry», this is a very hospitable welcoming — extremely important!!! Colleen Schneider(mngr) was very accommodating, informative, and fun! The food, bottomless mimosas($ 10 — what a deal!), and our server, Francis, were a def bonus to the atmosphere and ambience!!! HIGHLYRECOMMEND!!!

We re-discovered Kincaid’s a few months ago; had been several times over the years and always liked it. I don’t know if it’s just improved that much or if we’re just now noticing, but we keep going back as often as possible and every experience is even better than the last. The food is consistently outstanding — we’ve never been disappointed in anything. The basic wine list is amazing with a wide range of prices and terrific wines(pair the Caymus or Cakebread cabs with the filet!). Other reviews highlighted the unbeatable location right on the water, the view, and the beautiful décor; all true. But, even with all that, the service at Kincaid’s to me is what really sets this place apart from the rest. Every single time we are all impressed by the Five Star level of service; the waitstaff serve you as well as any of the finest restaurants that will set you back twice what you’ll spend here. But they do it in a friendly and unpretentious way that honestly feels like they enjoy the experience as much as you do! I want to especially recommend Jeffrey, who outdid himself last night, and is definitely our favorite who we’ll be asking for from now on, although again you can’t go wrong because they’ve all consistently impressed! Do yourself a favor and experience Kincaid’s.

Sooo I really wanted a really nice meal… I went after work with a group of coworkers. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The garlic focaccia bread was nice and fresh. I absolutely loved my clam chowder. It was warm and hearty and perfect for a chilly Cali night. I ate every bit. Now my meal. My Unilocal app wouldn’t come up so I wasn’t able to peruse the pics before ordering :-(I was torn between the scallops and the king salmon. I chose The Asiago crusted scallops to my displeasure. I like scallops and like Asiago but I feel that there was a very heavy Panko breading that truly took away from the scallop. It was hard and just not appealing at all. They served about 6 and I left 2.5 on my plate. I never leave food. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of the au gratin potato. The mashed potatoes were not good. I didn’t love the asparagus medley. It wasn’t gross but just not good. I was very disappointed. This was not my first choice for dinner tonight and I am a little sad that I didn’t get the delicious meal I wanted. I will say that because I was so very distracted by the beautiful sunset, I did not express my displeasure with my meal to my server. By the time I returned to the restaurant, my party was finishing up. I think they need to really rethink some of the menu options and properly execute. The chowder is 4⁄5 star worthy. My entrée a low 2. To be very fair, my rating is for the entire experience. The amazing view/ambience included.

Oh the disappointment. This is strictly a food review. Adrian our server as accommodating as possible. So kudos to him. Some very key issues… 1. Order drinks… wife’s martini came out with salt rim instead of sugar. Started off with a bad taste in her mouth literally. 2. Entrée ordered prime rib and salmon… prime rib chewy, rare when ordered medium rare plus, salmon fishy and also found bone. 3. This is more an issue for my sister as I wouldn’t expect most good steakhouses to have a1 sauce, but with the lack of sophistication here, I guess you would need it. THEYRANOUT and didn’t have any in the whole restaurant. 4. Value to satisfaction.. supremely subpar never coming back!

I was there recently on a company dinner event and expected a lot more considering that the place was well done up and the prices were on the high end. The view was great but everything else went downhill from there. I ordered the filet mignon and was not asked how I wanted it to be done and the meat was so raw I thought I saw it move. Next was the chocolate dessert. It was horrible. I didn’t know where the ice cream ended and where the chocolate cake started. It was all blended into one piece of sludge. Ugh. I would never EVER come back here… Ever. Save your money and head down to the opposite seafood pier. At least you know you are getting for what you pay for. Kincaids — -You guys need to do better.

So far, I’ve only been here for happy hour so that’s all this review is for at this point. I do plan to come back for brunch sometime soon, since I love this restaurant’s prime location in Redondo Beach-and I heard they have $ 10 bottomless mimosas here. This place has a fancy, old classic feel that reminds me of other seafood restaurants located near piers in Seattle or SF. I like that they have happy hour everyday, since I ran into this place on a Sunday, and was delighted to be asked by the hostess if I was there for happy hour, even though I had no idea it was happy hour-I just nodded. The wait time for a table outside was about 25 – 30 mins, while the bar/lounge area was open seating. We opted for a small comfy booth inside, although I would have loved to eat outside-next time for sure. I believe the happy hour wines were $ 5, selected cocktails were $ 6, and there were a variety of appetizer options. We had the calamari, and it was just okay. I did like that they gave us complimentary, yummy garlic bread. Service was good-our server kept coming by to see if we wanted to order anything else. Definitely plan to come back for happy hour or brunch soon!

Came here for my anniversary dinner. seafood stuff? Absolutely great! We ordered the cioppino and it was pretty amazing. Prime rib stuff? Leaves you with wanting something. like. a better prime rib. Granted, I did order it medium, it still wasn’t quite right, and I was left with so much odd gritty pieces that got stuck in my teeth at the end of the night, and it seemed a little more cooked than it should have been and salty. and just not the high quality cut that I was expecting for the price. So if you want something seafoody – I’d definitely recommend this place, if you want something along the lines of steak – try someplace else. I’ve had their rockafeller oysters here before, so it seems their forte is strictly, seafood.

I had always avoided kincaids because 1) Unilocal reviews I had read but mostly because 2) I knew of someone who was shamed by a staff member for breastfeeding her little one while eating here. Telling a breastfeeding mom to leave or cover up is not only horrible but also illegal in the state of California. I am a breastfeeding mama so this experience made me really upset but also I was nervous to bring my son here in case he wanted to nurse. I had heard staff was going to have a training on how to «deal» with nursing moms, so I really hope this ended up happening. So I had said I would never come here but I recently looked at their menu and everything looked so good, I decided to give them a shot. I’m glad I did because my food was delicious! We had a beautiful view from a table on the patio. It was nicely shaded and we were really comfortable. I ordered the half crab sandwich with the Caesar salad. Both were so so good! My son also devoured his kids meal which was a bit pricy but I was pleased with the selection of options they had for him. I definitely plan on coming here more often as long as no one ever tells me or my friends not to nurse our little ones.

After my first bad experience at Kincaid’s, I decided to come back to give them another try finally over a year later. My boyfriend and I came here on Valentines Day around 4:30pm. The front of the restaurant was pretty packed with people – families and couples. We were seated across the bar by the window. It wasn’t the best view of the ocean, but it was still a view. I would have preferred to sit at the back of the restaurant with a nicer view, but it was okay. From the Valentines Day dinner menu we ordered: Lobster Bisque, Snow-crab stuffed sole and crusted scallops. The lobster bisque was good, but just a little too salty. I thought the snow-crab stuffed sole was okay. It didn’t taste bad, but it wasn’t wonderful either. The dish was just way too heavy. My boyfriend really disliked his scallop entrée. I took off the breading and ate the scallop by itself and the scallop was extremely chewy. Wasn’t great. The best part of dinner was probably the garlic bread that we were served in the beginning. Man that bread was amazing! Especially when you dip it in soup! I would have to say it was a disappointing Valentines Day dinner for us. The food wasn’t great and the price just wasn’t worth it.

Presentation is this place’s selling point. The design of the restaurant, the location and the food all looked gorgeous. My gf and I dined here shortly after New Years when they still had a beautiful Christmas tree decked out with sand dollars, shells, sea stars and little bulbs partially filled of beach sand and shells. The restaurant rests on the pier overlooking a shallow sand shelf. The Interior of the restaurant shines with its highly polished floors and countertops. We choose to eat outside. On this sunny winter day, the light dancing through clear turquoise water down to the white sandy bottom. Pelicans and seabirds of all types glided and swam through the scenery, hoping to catch a snack from generous tourists. The scenery was spectacular. I had the breakfast wellington, a dish I never knew existed until that day. It was a puff pastry stuffed with eggs, ham and cheese. The presentation was impressive. The puff pastry had an intricate crisscross pattern on top and a brilliant buttery top. Cutting into it, the cheese and eggs flowed out like soft magma. It was perfectly cooked throughout. The rosemary potatoes and berries did a very good job of balancing the flavors and textures on the plate. Service could have been more attentive. We had a difficult time getting utensils brought to our table. I would have appreciated the meal better if something on the menu used local California ingredients. None of the seafood options on the menu is sourced from California. What a shame. Quality Seafood, located next door, sells exclusively locally caught California seafood.

Fine dining restaurant with a GREAT ocean view and fairly average-tasting food. This is currently one of six Kincaid’s locations and you’ll also receive a rewards card while dining(1 point for each $ 1 spend with free signup bonus points, 1000 points = $ 100 dining credits that can be used in any RUI restaurants, 30,000 points = private wine dinner for 10 paired at Portland City Grill’s Chef’s Table). Parking: First follow the Google map direction and as you slowly drive into the turnaround, pay attention to the right side and you should see an entrance to the parking lot. 1st hour is $ 0.50 during Monday ~ Friday from 8AM to 6PM and standard rate is $ 1.50 per hour. Service was pretty standardized and there wasn’t anything to critique about. Just a note, you can also order dinner entrees(e.g. prime rib or steak) during lunch hours — you’ll just have to check with your waiter/waitress for availability. *** Appetizer — Kincaid’s Tasting Sampler(Oven Roasted Crab & Artichoke Dip, Grilled Teriyaki Tenderloins, Coconut Prawns, $ 31.95): I actually didn’t see this item listed on the lunch menu, but you can still order it. I thought the sampler was pretty good(especially grilled teriyaki tenderloins) and it was definitely the highlight of my meal.(4.25÷5) Soup — New England Clam Chowder(caramelized leeks, bacon 8.95): Pretty concentrated soup … not too bad, but definitely not the best chowder I’ve had.(3.25÷5) Lunch Feature — Fresh Oven Roasted Salmon(honey and peppercorn crust, root vegetables, baby arugula salad, baby heirloom potatoes, lemon butter sauce, pickled red onion, fresh dill — $ 20.95): Too much peppercorn and it started to get overpowering. Salmon didn’t taste super fresh and overall I wouldn’t recommend this overpriced dish to anyone.(1⁄5) *** Good appetizers, average clam chowder, and avoid salmon entrée. I probably won’t come back here again because I care more about how the food taste, but at the same time I wouldn’t discourage anyone from coming here for a romantic lunch or dinner.

In ways, this review is hard for me to write. Although this is my first review, its my upteenth time here and I don’t even live here. I’m still a regular. That’s how much I LOVE Kincaids. Situated ON Redondo Beach Pier, the ocean views are simply breathtaking. During the winter, I sit at the Bar. Full menu AND happy hour? Why sit anywhere else. During all the other seasons, the patio is perfect; whether during the day as you watch the people walk around the pier, or at night, lit up, listening to the waves crash on the nearby shore. Next, the drinks. Fully stocked bar. They know classics and yet I had my first Scooby snack shot here(it’s true). For food, hands down, get the fresh oysters. Add in a squeeze of the grilled lemon, a sprinkle of the best mignonette ever, and a dollop of the cocktail sauce. Your life will be complete. The seafood is fresh and delicious. Clams, mahi mahi, and Cioppino are all winners. Are they salty? Yes, so don’t complain. It’s SEA water food — just enjoy it! Thanks to Allie, our gorgeous waitress, who happens to be «awesome,» the chefs, and to the well trained bartenders. Come to Kincaids — you won’t regret it!

Its been over a year since I’ve visited this Kincaid’s. Husband and I used to be big fans; when living in the South Bay, we frequented Kincaid’s for date night & family dinners. I’ve only been for dinner, but its a great restaurant on the Redondo Beach Pier to watch the sunset. Needed to find a place that could accommodate a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. Having had such positive prior experiences, I made a reservation thru Opentable for early Sunday evening(had to incorporate the sunsetting). When I told my sister, she shared that she had walked by Kincaid’s a couple of weeks prior and did NOT eat there because they didn’t have A/C. I ignored her thinking she was exaggerating because I don’t remember that ever being a problem(I should have listened). Parking was $ 6 for 3 hours, but they have a lot right next to the restaurant. I was about 10 minutes late, but the rest of my group all arrived at the same time. They said, they would be able to seat us in a few minutes. They brought us to a center table with great views. The birthday celebrant was very happy with the view(she hadn’t been here before). Cocktails: Moscow Mule-although served in a copper cup, its was plain; nothing special. Joel Gott Cabernet-very good; husband and I had to get a bottle of red cab to go with our filets Sis brought bottles of wine-$ 15 corkage fee. Salted Caramel Martini-instead of dessert, I ordered this Delectable drink. AMAZING. Tasted full of sugar & calories, but it was my dessert! Food: Maytag Blue Cheese Salad: standard. Nothing special on this one; plus, they don’t put a lot of the Maytag Blue Cheese. Surf & Turf: Filet Mignon w/crab stuffed prawns, mashed potatoes & grilled asparagus. Filet Mignon-ordered it Medium Rare; it came out Medium. Although the meat quality was good, it wasn’t prepared the way I like, plus they put too much salt on it. Prawns, were ok. Bread Pudding: Rich & Very Good. We ordered 3 of these for the table. Service: Very Good. Our server did a GREAT job accommodating our large party. Room Temperature: Here’s where my sister’s comment came back to haunt me. It was very hot in the room. Several members of our party were sweating at the table, sitting still. Both my husband and son, got up to take a walk outside to cool off. Husband said he wouldn’t come back in the summer.

This place has a perfect spot on the pier. Their food is a bit pricey than most but still very reasonable. It’s located only a few steps from the parking garage. It’s very clean and their service is great! The next time I’m in Redondo Beach, I’ll be back here for sure.

Really beautiful restaurant with great beach-side atmosphere and view. When we went in, there was about a 20 – 30 minute wait but no waiting in the bar area, so we took advantage of that. The tables actually have an excellent view of the beach and have both booths and tables as well as a large bar which is seat yourself but otherwise serves the full menu. During happy hour which is served from 3 – 6 and 9 – 10(Closing) they have $ 5 beer and wine and $ 6 specialty mixed drinks including cranberry mojitos and pomegrante martinis. There are also appetizer discounts of about 30%. I got the prime rib which came with vegetables(carrots ad string beans) and mashed potato. I also got the clam chowder which was excellent. The table in the bar didn’t have salt and pepper, so you have to ask for that, it took a while to bring to the table too so I was worried the food was starting to get cold. Overall, the prime rib was pretty good and a good choice though they obviously specialize in fish, being next to the ocean and all. The steaks also come with different toppings which I would definitely try. Parking on Redondo Pier is metered pre-pay and $ 2 an hour, so there isn’t any validation. Service was so-so, she was there but didn’t really check on us. But that might just be the way it is when you sit at the bar area? Otherwise, the view is awesome and it’s a nice place to unwind. Would come back for happy hour for sure!
