Meg did a perfect job catering my wedding at Malibu Rockys Oaks. I ask a lot of questions (like annoyingly a lot) and she always was responsive, friendly, and accommodating. My guests loved the food and the presentation was beautiful. In addition, she helped my grocery store late night snacks look really elegant somehow. Highly, highly recommend Meg and her team!

Three days before my dinner party I called for help. They were so worth it. I’m going back again and again. I could enjoy my guests. Thankyou Meg’s. Working with Nicole was the easiest experience and she was lovely.

Meg Hall was a lovely caterer to work with for our May wedding. We learned that our venue (The Sepulveda Home) contracted her as part of our wedding contract and we scheduled a tasting — the food was really really good and well seasoned and textures were lovely. We chose to serve wild mushroom chicken, miso and garlic salmon, and curry cauliflower steak as our guests had a great variety of dietary restrictions. She also managed the staffing for everything according to our needs and variety of food choices offered and everything went off beautifully — the bartender, enough servers for our ~90 person wedding, thoughts on best timing on delivery of the cake and offering to fix any issues if any — she has thought of everything and her impressive portfolio of catering some famous clientele really tells in her service! Meg’s staff were wearing black and matching headbands, very professional who zipped in and out throughout the venue. Our guests told us at the wedding that it was the best wedding food I’ve ever had (spoken by many guests including some seriously foodie friends). The food had attractive and classy plating, beautiful cheese platters presented with fresh fruit on wood slices at the welcome reception. We were thrilled with everything down from the salad to the sides (haricot verts with crisped shallots, corn soufflé) and we were so happy that the drinks came out picture-​perfect and nice and strong :) Great communication throughout the months working together about how to work the wedding out and coordinating, friendly and professional. Highly highly recommend!

Booked this caterer last minute without a referral but I looked at Unilocal and she seemed well liked. BAD decision. She is very nice. However, the food was really boring and uncreative. The delivery guy arrived on time at 1:30 but it took him about 40 minutes to get all the food out (It was a drop off). Half the guests had arrived and were already eating before he’d finished. There should have either been two delivery guys or she should have told us they would need more time. This was all negative, but the really unforgivable part was that of the six items we ordered two had to be assembled!!! I was the hostess and spent ages in the kitchen at the venue finishing the job that they left us with. My silk outfit was ruined from sauces splattering. I am furious that she allowed a drop off of random ingredients which needed about an hour to assemble. Most of that food ended up thrown away as it did not get out to the guests in time. And I was in the kitchen during a large part of the event. She should have helped us select items that fit the drop off definition. I paid $ 2500 for a caterer who made food worse than I could have prepared and left me with a JOB getting it ready to serve. And my outfit is ruined. What’s wrong with this picture???

Catering review– I cannot praise this catering company enough! Everything about Meg is amazing. Best advice from a friend about planning my son’s Bar Mitzvah was, «do not skimp on the caterer, people will notice bad food.» So I looked around a lot in shock at how much the sit down dinner we wanted was going to cost. A friend recommended Meg only because she walked by her café all the time, Her first estimate was so high that I didn’t think it would work to use her. But Meg was patient and sweet and worked hard with us on ways to save money. I think she was about 20% more than other caterers but that isn’t even a fair comparison because they were offering carrots and ranch dressing and she was offering white chocolate and brie pillow puffs as an appetizer. She is and was a full service caterer. She organized equipment rentals, picked up the slack when we ended up not having a decorator and her entire staff was polite, respectful, helpful and hard working. The food was beyond delicious and the compliments were effusive from my guests. We could not believe a treasure like Meg exists in the South Bay. We had a chicken dish that was tender and cooked to perfection. The appetizers were to die for– I’m ordering more Brie pillows for home and advice for you– order double, you can’t have too many of those around. Meg did not bat an eye when my guest estimate went from 75 to 100, then to 120 when the room holds 100, not when it rained the day of the event eliminating outdoor seating and not when she ended up serving 128 guests, more than RSVP’d! She just did it and was lovely and amazing. These other reviews led me to trust her and I am so glad I did. She was worth every penny and I would recommend her to anyone.

We ordered catering for a corporate event (100 of everything) and the food quality was still very very good.

We had a wonderful experience hiring Made by Meg to cater my husband’s birthday party. I worked directly with Lauren who was fabulous in making this work within budget and timeframe. Onsite Meg and team were out of this world — so professional yet approachable and so very friendly. Our guests loved them. The food, signature drink, and ambiance created were enjoyed by all — kids and adults! I wish we had another event coming up just so we could use Meg and her team again! You will not be disappointed.

I hired Meg to cater my husband’s 50^th birthday celebration. Honestly, it was the best experience I could have imagined. Meg was able to pin point our exact needs and deliver over and above any expectations. She took care of everything. Meg and her staff are professional, courteous, and respectful. The food was outstanding and people are still talking about it weeks later.
Working with Meg = An AMAZING EVENT

Worked on a huge NYE event with Meg (I’m an event planner), and her food and staff are 5 star all the way. First, Meg makes fantastic tasting food to even the most discerning dietary restrictions. Additionally, her staff made my job so much simpler as they are very clean and take care of any situation so I can keep the event on time and concentrate on the client’s needs. Thank you again, you were all wonderful!

I stopped by the place because of Unilocal and I’m very thankful. I had an awesome roasted squash salad. Easily 5 stars. The ingredients blended perfectly together. I also had the roasted cauliflower which was just ok. I’m a hard critique on the cauliflower because I think my recipe is the best. Can’t wait try come back and try something else. Good job Meg.

Meg catered by company, Telepacific’s ribbon cutting. Her staff was great! And the food was so creative and super yummy!

This place is everything right with redondo beach. Meg has a nice little start up space, where she makes amazing food, and she really cares about what she is giving you! its awesome. You would be a moron to not love this warm, inviting little shop, with seasonal ingredients, and amazing food

we’ve had a few things at Made By Meg and love that the chef is there and so personable. The food combos are unique and healthy (i’m very into healthy). husband is happy, kids are happy… we will continue to go back!

I’m going to start off this review by saying it’s an interesting little place. By little I mean, 4 bar stools and a small table for four. I personally loved it because it was different dining experience for me and I’m always up for trying new things. I met up with some friends here and felt like I was having a private dining experience cooked by the chef herself! How awesome is that? Plus the guy that rang us up is a singer/​musician who made it on American Idol’s Top 50 a few seasons ago. Here’s what we had:
1. Cara Cara Grilled Chicken with Brussel Sprouts: Citrus and garlicky. This was recommended to me by a friend and with the first bite I was doing my happy wiggle. It’s a healthy non carb dish with bacon. The dish could have been hotter but the quality, freshness, and flavor was all there.
2. Meg’s Special-​Grilled Flap Steak with Vanilla Japanese Sweet Potato Purée: oh… this purée is so amazing!
3. Sides of Garlic Fries: she has perfected the art of perfect fries. Give these fries a shot and you’ll come back for more.
4. Smuffin: what a cute name! half smore+half muffin=smuffin.
This place has a lot of potential and I wouldn’t be surprised if a huge line forms out the door soon. This place can’t handle large parties though. It’s great for pick-​up. I’m hurrying back to try the Fried Squash Blossoms with Whipped Goat Cheese and Paneezle sandwich.

Made by Meg finally opened up her own eatery! I work with Meg and her team in the event world and she absolutely kills it! Now she has her own walk-​in eatery! Great for tasty food on the go and the sandwiches are awesome! Fun staff and great environment. Clean, bright, and convenient. Definitely stop by and see why Meg is a Chef to the Stars!

We can now enjoy Made by Meg food anytime at her newly opened café! The place is cleanly styled and the food is awesome! The seating is limited to 4 bar stools with a small kids table with a couple of stairs. This is the perfect spot for local to grab a quick and healthy bite to eat with fresh and unique ingredients made by Meg!

I had booked Meg in April to do a première party for a company that I worked with. I was in a bind to find a caterer last minute (meaning three days before the event) when the caterer I had originally booked wanted to overcharge us. Luckily, our event was later on a Sunday night so Meg was available! She worked with us and our budget and ended up charging us half of what our other caterer was going to charge!
Her menu was very extensive and she made sure to customize it to our budget. We actually had trouble choosing what to serve because everything sounded so good. We decided on these mini sirloin sliders, little caesar salads served in bamboo cones, and rock shrimp served in corn tortilla scoops. Everything was so good and we got so many compliments from the guests at our party.
If you need a caterer that is friendly, organized and works within your price range, I urge you to call Meg. We will definitely be hiring her again!

Meg is smart and kind and her products are amazing.

Meg Hall is absolutely amazing she should actually get 6 stars — no, 7 stars! Ah heck, INFINITYYYYYY!!!
I know I should say «we» or «our» for wedding reviews but you know what I mean. I hired Meg to by my caterer for my wedding because of three things:
1.) Out of all the caterers I talked to, and there were a handful, Meg was the only one that PROMPTLY answered the phone and e-​mails. I can’t tell you how many vendors I spoke with through voice mail or had to wait for a call back like 1 – 2 days later. Not the case with Meg.
2.) I had a pretty obscure food idea for the wedding. Pi-​themed. For a pi-​day wedding. Ya. You heard me, pi day wedding. Instead of hearing, «oh…okay…that’s weird… how about prime rib instead of that shepards pi (e) that you want»; I got «OH WOW THAT’S SO FUN, HOW ABOUT cauliflower with PIne nuts and roasted garlic sound?!» HELL YES to any vendor that can flex with a weird couple like James and I and our funky pi themed wedding.
3.) I told Meg straight up that my budget was tight and she still thought of (with some brain-​storming with me) a kick-​ass menu for our wedding.
After I hired her, several more + stars came her way:
Meg was totally okay with coming down to the venue several months in advance to get the lay of the land, plan on how much stuff needed to be rented, and give advise to me that I didn’t even think about. I will have to say her vendor for rental equipment was too pricey and I did opt to go with Pico Party rental. She was totally fine with my decision and gave me absolutely ZERO pressure about my choice. Awesome.
Meg throughout the pre-​wedding kept in touch and kindly reminded me of payment due and answered any of my pre-​wedding freakout questions with CONFIDENCE.
On the BIG DAY Meg and her crew SHINED. The food was displayed beautifully with pi-​placards (at my request). All of the guests were happily munching away (okay minus the infants) and best of all many of my guests came up to me personally and said the food was some of THE BEST food they’ve ever had at wedding.
Food was a very important aspect to me for the reception. How many times have you personally had boring pasta primavera and crappy prime rib at a wedding? I’m sure many of you have. You won’t get that with Meg. She will zazz up your food menu, cook it up with flare, WOW your guests and remain professional – all rolled up in a sweet pastry puff package. :)
Would I hire Meg again? HELL YES.
