We have been going here many years. The building first housed the Wooden Shoe restaurant with a Dutch theme which explains the shape of the sign. Second was Rocky Cola Café — too bad they did not last. However, Redondo Beach Café is the best of the three. The veggie burger is great, also like the falafal sandwich. Service has always been good. Have never been there for dinner, so can’t comment on service in the evening.

We’ve been coming here for many many years. We’ve had various meals hear. All very good but my favorite is the breakfast. You can get the 3×3×3 or 2×2×2. Meaning 2 eggs, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes or toast etc. I like that idea of being able to have a choice. The service is excellent and friendly. The prices are reasonable.

Love this restaurant. The food is always great! Especially want to thank Victor for being an outstanding server… he is always going above and beyond for us and even remembers all our orders! He’s the best server I’ve come across, such a great person and outstanding customer service!!! Thanks Victor and Redondo Beach Café!

A rare combination of a family-owned diner with huge and wide menu selection– breakfast lunch or dinner anytime– with American, Greek, and even French Canadian menu items. Some healthy items available, too. The prices are a bit above-other coffee shops, but there aren’t many places around anymore where you can get such diverse food items and breakfast all day. The décor is definitely Greek-Canadian-hockey them. I love that it feels warm with a family pride and feel with great service. Only reason this place got 3 stars is the food. The parking was plentiful and the outdoor seating was very nice, even if on a well-traveled road like PCH. The staff was great, but the food was rather unexceptional. I am planning to give this establishment another try and hopefully they will prove me wrong and I can then change my rating.

I really have no idea how this place has such a good following :/Like others… I’ve heard great things about it being a great place for Canadian Expats. We finally went… I asked for bagels and they said they hadn’t had any for a year. We asked about the Canadian beers… my husband had the very last maudite, they were out of moosehead, and once the Labatts was out they weren’t replenishing any more canadian beers. My husband had the montreal smoked meat and said it was mostly just fatty. I actually don’t like montreal smoked meat so I couldn’t tell you if it was good or bad. I had the poutine and it was literally inedible. It was disgusting TBH. Canned gravy with 4 days worth of your sodium total. Like another said… I’ve had better poutine by accident from places not touting themselves as all Canadian. IMO, this place needs to stop promoting themselves as the place to be for Canadian food… they’re giving us a bad name. This is just another place run by people who’ve been in California way too long.

This place is an eclectic oasis. For starters there is a Canadian and Greek theme. I was skeptical, but when I ordered the gyro salad and poutine, I knew this place had something going.

I really really did not want to give this restaurant a two star rating but it is sadly unavoidable. My husband and I are Canadian and had been planning on going to the Redondo Beach Café for years. We live in Valencia and are just never in the area. We had always heard good things so we finally made the time to go and check it out. We were very excited! We couldn’t wait to have the Montréal Smoked meat sandwich and the poutine. When we arrived, well I was really excited to finally be there and seeing all the hockey memorabilia on the walls made us feel a little bit like we were home in Canada. My husband ordered the Montréal Smoked meat sandwich and to our utter disappointment and shock… they were OUT! How can you be out of something that you are known for? So he ordered a club sandwich and I ordered the poutine. His club sandwich was just mediocre and my poutine was cold and really. tasted like poutine that I could have ordered from a Zeller’s restaurant. But truthfully, the Zeller’s poutine probably would have been better. We will NOT be making the mistake of driving all that way for dismal food again.

I had to work all weekend and so we had the morning to spend with each other. We woke up and rode our bikes by the beach. My fear of riding bikes has slowly gone away. He brought me to his local spot. He ordered pancakes and eggs and I had the salmon Benedict. Good was good. Service was good. Cute little local spot. Will be back!

I’ve passed this place a million times while traveling down PCH in Redondo Beach, but haven’t tried it in a while. Went for breakfast with a friend and the good and bad news was that it wasn’t at all crowded on a weekend morning. My favorite places are always crowded on the weekend. The parking was plentiful and the outdoor seating was very nice, even if on a well-traveled road like PCH. The staff was great, but the food was rather unexceptional. The coffee was good enough, and kept warm and full for the entire meal. I really wanted to give this a better review, but the food — and just the food — prevent me from doing so. I wouldn’t mind returning, but it definitely wouldn’t be my first, second or third choice.

Huevos Quesadilla from Redondo Beach Café. I had never even heard about this spot. I’m very glad I finally did. 1st off its a Montréal Greek owner representing awesome cuisine from both Canada and Greece. I spent many years in Montréal and they have a huge Greek population with amazing food. The server was engaging and gave us the low down about the spot. I had to order traditional poutine. It was decent. But I never loved the traditional kind when I lived in Montréal. This breakfast Quesadilla was quality. Super cheesey, buttery, crisp, soft, gooey, savory, and a great portion. This place rocks. I’ll be back to try some other dishes.

Stopped by to watch the Sharks v Kings game here with a bunch of fellow Sharks fans. It was a fun time, especially having some fellow Sharkies in enemy territory. Full disclaimer, the night was a bit hazy… because of… stuff. I remembering ordering some form of tacos. Can’t remember which ones, but they were okay. The meat was a bit dry; nothing too special. They do serve beers on tap here, which is a plus!

I stumbled in here with a few of my Sharks fans to watch the Sharks v. Kings game. It’s great being a transplant from the Bay Area and feeling like we belong even though there were kings memorabilia everywhere. This place is like your classic diner clashed with a sports bar. They sell beer!(no hard alcohol though) Our server was very attentive and service was fast. We ordered the oreo malt and beach crepes and chicken tacos. Oreo Malt– They did it right! And unlike a lot of diners/cafes that bump up the price, this one was only $ 5! I’d have to say since I am a big fan of a malted shake that this was less malty than others I’ve had, nevertheless, still delicious. Beach Crepes– $ 9 – 10 and I shared this with my friend. It was your classic nutella and banana crepes topped with whipped cream. Nothing too noteworthy about it but it is exactly what you would expect from a nutella banana crêpe. Chicken Tacos– They’re spiked with little bits of spicy jalapenos and comes with a side of fries. Not your Mexican street tacos, more like beach tacos so it was less of a sauteed chicken and more a diced seared chicken breast with less seasoning. It’s quite refreshing for a taco. Fries were standard. Overall, great experience and will be back!

Huge lines at the chain restaurants the day after Christmas and happened by this place, so gave it a try. I’m a fan of the ‘local’ café, and this fits the bill. Owners are from Greek-Canadian heritage so there are some interesting takes on different foods. Of course, I had to try the roasted beef poutine. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. Girlfriends brunch also very good. We’ll be back.

POUTINE! You have to come to the Beach Café if you know what is good and popular. Duh. Most of what you find on the menu can be found at other locations EXCEPT for their poutine. It was a slower weeknight and we decided to seat ourselves at what looks like a 60’s café bar. After a fairly heated argument, the service was able to turn the vibe from pins and needles to fuzzy comfort. His recommendations were pretty good, but the real winner was the poutine. Apparently this place serves a more accurate example of genuine poutine, at least from what I have been told. It’s not gourmet food or anything fancy. It’s a different feeling to have blocks of cheese versus melted cheese but it makes sense. This sort of meal is also suiting on a cold evening to keep the calorie intake up. Boring stuff but it’s pretty good nonetheless. Yes, there is some pretty good beer on tap and parking nearby. The prices are just about where you expect to find them with this kind of food. Nonetheless, I will return to try more of their food. The biggest tip would be to come when the weather is colder. You will find the food to be more comforting and much more satisfying. This isn’t slender fitness beach health food. It’s suburban log gentleman lunch passing food.

Casual Greek, French-Canadian, American diner… think those can’t coexist? They somehow do. There’s nothing special about the ambiance here. I’ve only been here for dinner, so usually opt for one of the Greek options. This week, I had the lamb gyros pita. The tzatsiki is nice and garlicy and the portion size was nice and big. It also came with a healthy order of fries. My dad got the buffalo burger(also nice) and my mom got the ahi tuna tacos(which were only OK). My dad likes his apple pie unheated and they were happy to accommodate(you would be surprised that some places will only serve hot! Nice local place with an ample menu(really, something for everyone).

For years I had driven past this place without stopping because I thought it looked like a shleppy mediocre diner. Turns out, it’s a shleppy mediocre diner. The Kitchen Sink omelette I had was awful. The mimosa I had was akin to one that a little kid would make on your birthday — it’s terrible and the kid obviously has no idea what he’s doing but it’s the thought that counts. The coffee is decent and was refilled quickly and often, but aside from that this place is not good.

First of all the staff at this restaurant is friendly and professional. But, that is where any recommendations end. The problems: Summer… But no air conditioning inside. Food… Just not that good. For example, this morning I had their Huevos Rancheros. Though it was okay. The cook placed the breakfast upon corn tortillas that were stiff and obviously not very fresh. I believe that a restaurant really needs to care about the less obvious aspects of the meals they serve if they hope to keep people coming back. The Redondo Beach Café is located in a great place on PCH, close to the village and the beach, so I am sure that keeps them busy. But, I believe they should really focus more on some of the subtle aspects of dining to make this place a more enjoyable eating experience.

This place it’s kind of cute, kind of kitschy, and they have a pretty big menu. The best part is that they serve breakfast all day. Oh! And they serve Greek food. Oh! And they are BYO wine… so that’s pretty cool. The staff here is friendly, and we were immediately seated upon arrival on. Sunday morning. They have some outdoor seating as well, but no one was out there. I could see myself coming back to sit outside with my pooch. The inside is kitschy, and much like an old-school diner. They have some booths around, and they have a bar too. They serve breakfast all day… which I love, but I think I ordered the wrong thing. I got the eggs benedict, but I found the hollandaise to be too heavy on the lemon, or something. It was too tangy, and it overpowered the eggs, meat, and muffin. My hubby ordered the gyro with fries and it was pretty tasty. I preferred his dish to mine. All in all, I would come back here, but I’d try some other items on menu.

I’ve only been at the Redondo Beach Café twice and the food has been average with each visit. The breakfast menu although extensive, is pretty boring. Veggie Egg White Omelette and Egg White Whole Wheat french toast were just okay. I haven’t had a chance to try their lunch or dinner. Overall it does serve a purpose if you’re looking for a place to grab a bite. This place is big and we never had any issues getting seated. Service was good. And there are plenty of parking on the street or in their private lot.
