I LOVE the food and service, but $ 12 for an omelette and 4.15 for an iced coffee? Too $$ for a friendly neighborhood place to come every weekend. So sad about it

We were looking for a café bakery in the area and found this little place. They have some great dessert options(lemon bars, cheesecake, cookies, croissants) so you are covered on the sweet front. The coffee was great too and the décor is quaint without being cheesy although everything is kind of in the yellow color palette which is a bit much. Service was weird, there were few people in the café and the waitress saw and spoke to us but didn´t tell us we needed to order at the front before sitting down so we waited at our table like fools for someone to pay attention and take our order until finally taking initiative and going to order for ourselves. Despite that weird interaction everything else was fine!

The food and ambiance were ok but I didn’t like the staff. They appeared aloof and rude. I prefer the PV location!

This cute little café has a very French feel with all the beautiful french pastries too! The location is wonderful — right in the heart of Riviera Village. Come for breakfast, lunch or early dinner(closes at 7) and sit for as long as you like. You can watch the people go by or have a great conversation over a coffee or latte. The food items are pretty good in my experience — especially the pesto panini! I get excited about that one. The service is pretty good. You don’t always get a smile, but the tasty food and nice ambiance make up for it.

My parents visiting from BC and I recommend them to go to the Yellow Vase. They were happy with there coffees, note there is only one size of coffee, large for $ 2.50. My mom ordered a waffle. She wasn’t happy with a few things about it. It was a single round waffle for $ 11. It was garnished with a whip cream that seemed more like an imitation whipped topping with 2 sliced strawberries, and the menu said it came with real maple syrup, but we know our maple syrups(being Canadian) and this was not maple syrup. That being said, busy place and nice atmosphere.

Really good panini sandwiches. Nice little café-like restaurant. Quiet. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bakery items looked really good.

Adorable little spot right on the corner. Fresh flowers everywhere. Outside seating is so cute. Inside had a bit of a homier décor, still cute and fresh. Menu is very simple, one page. Breakfasts, sandwiches, salads. Ordered just a Greek salad for a quick bite. It was delicious and had avocado, fresh bread on the side. Baked goods looked yummy too. Clientele on this particular day were odd but I would still definitely return if I was in the area.

I love this place. There is a man who works there who is full of life and very friendly. The food was all amazing. Not only that, but so is the environment. It made me feel like I was in someones garden. I am obsessed with flowers and I love the color yellow so it was a total win win for me. Not to mention. I LOVEFOOD! I can’t believe it took me so long to eat here but it did. I’ve been seeing it for years and I will definitely be back.

Great place for brunch, lunch, and dinner! The staff here is always very friendly, and I love the seating outside on a nice day. Food wise, everything has been just delicious. I’ve had their scrambles, sandwiches, soups, and french toast, and all were very tasty! I can’t wait to go back for their red velvet french toasts!

I ordered croissant sandwich which was super duper good! I would highly recommend it for weekend brunch with spanish latte. Service was friendly and nice always. — I found this place near my apartment. All fornitures, dishes and cups were in yellow which was obviously the theme of this restaurant. So pretty! I first needed to go to the casher for my order. After I paid, I found my table outside. I ordered greco omlet and small spanish latte. (I was about to order Crêpe too. But decided to keep it for next time) Latte came a bit late, though I love it! Omlete was good too. It came with potatoes and salad which satisfied my appetite. I hope I can get some butter or any kind of spread for the bread that came with omlet.

This is my go-to place to meet my gfs for coffee, breakfast or brunch. Cozy and quaint. The coffee is strong in a good way, the food is hearty and the service is easy going.

What an adorable place to go to for a satisfying breakfast or brunch! They close at 7pm. It’s my second time around and my orders didn’t disappoint. Consistency is key. And I love how their customer service is taken seriously here. The lady suggested the Red Velvet French Toast the first time I checked them out. I told her I was feeling sweets and she’s awesome for an amazing recommendation. Second visit, I found out that they have Gluten Free bread! Thus, I ordered the Sunshine Panini with egg whites and avocado. I really like this place. The interior and outside decors are so pretty! There’s so much to explore and what a great setting/ambiance to be around. The noise level is average. I could see how people come here to have business meetings or have a day-date with friend/s or that special someone. They even sell fresh flowers which are just too beautiful. They are pet-friendly but obviously, the dogs have to stay outside. The street parking was a bit of a turn off, but it’s ok. The restrooms were neat & clean. I can’t wait to come back! Their pastries displayed look very tempting as well. They take cake orders but do so, at least one week before your event.

Okay, 5 stars for the coffee. I always get a Spanish Latte with Hazelnut and they are always divine. 5 stars for the décor as well. Love the French-country feel of it. What’s not to love about a place that serves a nice drink in a large latte cup, complete with a design in the foam? Now, the food. 2 or 3 stars at most. My friend and I ordered panini’s. These are hot sandwiches. The description even talked about melted cheese. What were we brought? Cold Sandwiches. The bread had been lightly grilled, but the meat inside was cold(not even cool or luke warm) to the touch and the cheese was still cold and in its’ sliced(Swiss) and chunked(Brie) form. We showed it the the cashier and they seemed confused, but agreed to take it back. We were brought replacement hot sandwiches, which were indeed much better. But it’s clear there needs to be more training on how to prepare the items on the menu. Come for the coffee and a cozy atmosphere. Skip the menu items. If you’re looking for food, stick to the pastry display.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for brioche French Toast! Hydrate with complimentary lemon water on a hot day. Don’t expect to seat yourself and be waited on; you actually have to approach the counter and order first then sit down and wait for your food to be brought to you. Don’t be the dummy waiting for someone to take your order. The Brioche French Toast was decadent, soft, melt-in-your-mouth, maple-y goodness. Don’t make the mistake of ordering it stuffed with ham… In this instance, savory and sweet don’t satisfy the tastebuds as much as the Original French Toast. As my pops used to say, «Keep it simple, stupid». The dish came with sliced potatoes, eggs(I ordered them scrambled), and turkey sausage or bacon. I ordered the turkey sausage, was disappointed to receive greasy, measly bacon. We are not talking thick-cut applewood smoked bacon. The Spanish Latte was a special breakfast treat in itself. So good why not make it a large on a hot day? Overall, this place is great. If you’re feeling mellow yellow on a Sunday morning, make it a date at the Yellow Vase! It’s a great place to make the Walk of Shame to.

I have had some good experiences here and some subpar experiences. The good: It’s great to have a decent gluten-free option for lunch and breakfast in the South Bay. The gluten-free bread is tasty. The salads and sandwiches are good. Great location! The not so good: The coffee is good but not great. Sometimes they get the order wrong. I have dietary issues and have to omit certain ingredients. I’ve had 2 experiences where those ingredients were left on. I went there today and ordered a panini without cheese and it showed up burnt with cheese. :/The waitress did at least ask me if the bread was ok but I was so hungry I ate it rather than send it back.

We were looking for a good breakfast/bakery place in the area and landed here. Overall I think it was just okay. Some good, some not so good. For the price, I would have expected more. I tried one macaron(they didn’t look very impressive) and they crushed it when they got it for me. But it still tasted alright. They were tiny and $ 1.75 a piece. I got the croissant sandwich with bacon, and I actually liked mine a lot. The eggs and bacon were very good. I also tried a latte at $ 5, and it was very subpar. I didn’t drink very much of it. My date got a Monte Cristo and it was just decent. I think it was $ 12. Not worth it. But still wasn’t bad. The place had a cute vibe going on, so if you’re in the area and don’t mind paying a little more for your food, its worth a shot. But I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Usually this place is good. Last time I went here got the Chicken Chipotle panini. The bread was hard and stale :(I was eating it there so after about two bites I went in and told the guy it sucked. I NEVER complain and was pretty shocked because Yellow Vase has always been SOBOMB. Asked the guy if he could make me another to-go and that one tasted the same. Not that I won’t come back here again but that last experience wasn’t good. I also think they are a little overpriced but then again the sandwiches do come with a salad. Seems a little overpriced still though if you ask me.

This place is the cutest place for a brunch date! There is a lot of room for improvement for their service though. Their lack of customer service does not match such a beautiful atmosphere! There’s plenty of parking on the street but they’re all coin meters. Yellow Vase captures your attention when you pass by it on the street with their bright yellow patio umbrellas that you can’t help but to come back to enjoy a cup of their hand crafted expresso drink or a brunch meal. Give it a try on a sunny day!

They say in this world it’s all about the bass, but on Sunday morning like this one I say it’s all about the«Vase.» The Paninis are savory without being fully packed on to the max. But for morning coffee I can’t be pleasured more by the Honey Vanilla Latte or Caramel Hot Chocolate, which I repeat, pleasured me drip by drip, aftertaste by aftertaste(the caramel isn’t a one-note taste, it tingles). I felt my torso quiver and quake inside me. I had macaroons, I had a pecan bar, I had other peoples’ bacon, eggs, farm potatoes, french toast… actually, I was so much of a food slut in one sitting that my bass quivered on the toilet sometime not long after. Oh, bring your disposable income here to buy boutique stuff like aprons, serving plates, napkins, flowers, and more macaroons to take home. #meghan-trainor-fan
