I Love this place! Great food for a great price. I come here every time I’m in the area. They even make it look beautiful if you eat there. I usually get the Kung Pao Chicken because it is still the best I’ve ever eaten! Haven’t tried much else.

I use to eat at this place when it was Starlight something back in high school so figured i’d see if it’s still good takeout Chinese for the money, and I was surprised to see it’s still pretty damn good. I asked the woman what she recommended, said the orange or kung pao chicken, and Greg likes his chicken spicy so I went w/the KP. The dinner special came with rice, hot & sour soup, cream cheese rangoon, & veggie egg roll for like $ 7-$ 8. I ate every last bite and was stuffed, good portions. The quality of the ingredients was great, the chicken was juicy and had great flavor– not overwhelmingly spicy, a huge notch above Panda Express’ KP chicken if we’re comparing(and typically if i’m feelin quick Chinese takeout, the Panda X is right down the street so…). The soup & everything else was good too. I’ll be going back soon rather than Panda.

While it’s certainly not a gourmet restaurant, Rice Garden is a great pick for those nights when you just don’t feel like cooking. I’ve been here countless times, and have never been disappointed. Everyone that works there is so kind, and the food is always quick and delicious. I definitely recommend the Sesame chicken and the Orange chicken.

I don’t know what these other reviews are talking about. Must be competing restaurants or something. Or maybe they are comparing this place to a sit-down restaurant like PF Changs. I have been eating here for years and I always have a good experience. The prices for their lunch/dinner specials are really good(about $ 6 – 7) for a complete meal. The quality of the food is also very good. I recommend the sesame chicken, which is my personal favorite. Another good thing is that they delivery. I live in Redondo Beach and this is one of my regular takeout places. Another thing I like is that they give good service when you eat there. When I order a lunch special they first bring out the soup immediately after ordering, then they bring out the egg rolls and won tons as soon as I finish the soup, and shortly after they come out with my entrée. Keep in mind this is not a sit-down restaurant with waiters. I am always impressed by that. Hopefully some more customers like me come out and write honest reviews about this place because I was surprised by some of the others.

Well, I thought I’d give this place a try since I was right there in the plaza. I got shrimp with broccoli & brown rice, to go. They were very accommodating, offered to cook my broccoli well done…’cause I hate al dente veggies. And everyone behind the counter was chatty & friendly. My tab …$ 14. A lot. When they handed me my bag of food, it was… not much. I got it home and took a look: Smallish shrimp, mostly broccoli, not a large portion. No way this was a $ 14 serving. Maybe half that cost would have been a fair price. It tasted OK, but not much flavor. It had no sauce of any kind. I won’t go back.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. This place(which I have been to a few times) has been horrible since becoming Rice Garden(it used to be called China Express or something). It used to be pretty good so I decided to give it a few chances but for the love of buddha i don’t know why! Even the fried rice is horrible. When you walk in the door to pick up your food you reek like grease after the two minutes it takes you. Did I say yuck? YUCK!
