Supreme Paint Decorating Centers

This is the worst paint store I have ever used. The samples are not updated, samples are missing and the paint colors DO NOT match the swatches. The guys seem pretty miffed if they have to make it actually look like the sample.

Seems like feast or famine when it comes to customer service based on the reviews. Fortunately for me, I am always treated like royalty as far as help and knowledge. I suggest going at time when contractors are not there. They are the bread and butter of these guys and us DIY’ers need babysitting. They’ll totally help you when they have ample time and unlike the big box stores, they know what their products do. I’ve never been disappointed so I give them 5 stars.

Yesterday the plan was to spackle a bunch of nail holes & touch-​up the paint on the walls of the condo I’m selling.
My contractor & a couple of his guys volunteered to give me a hand with this little job, since we were already doing some other work on site.
We didn’t want to drive the distance to Dunn Edwards to get a small amount of the exact original paint color so we figured we could match it close enough with Benjamin Moore. And we happened to be passing by Supreme Paint in Manhattan Beach.
The bad news: when we got back to my condo we discovered we had been given the wrong paint color, not the color requested. And not only the wrong color but the wrong grade to boot. We had specified we didn’t need top grade… now it made sense why that ‘lil can of paint cost 20 bucks.
AND the paint store accidentally kept my contractor’s color fan deck, which costs money to buy.
I first (wrongly) blamed my contractor for screwing up this trip to the paint store, haha.
The paint color we’d asked for was «Cotton Balls», an off-​white.
The color we received was pure white.
My contractor was pissed. He said he’d go right over to the other Supreme Paint, a couple blocks from my condo in Redondo, and get the correct damn bunny balls paint color.
He musta been thinking of Peter Cottontail… or something…
I followed him down the driveway mumbling that I’d bust somebody’s bunny balls with my broom handle if we didn’t get the right color this time around.
My little touch-​up job was slowly turning into a wasted afternoon for all four of us.
So that’s how we ended up at this Supreme Paint location on PCH, hoping we could get them to tint our white paint to something close to Cotton bunny Balls.
Here’s what this store did for us:
They took back our opened can of expensive white paint & gave us the right color in the right grade & even refunded some money.
They called the Manhattan store & told them to look for, and hang on to, my contractor’s paint color deck so he could pick it up.
Ball’s well that ends well.
And it sure is refreshing when somebunny provides great customer service.

We have been to the store many times. Out of 5 trips only one salesperson was very helpful and patient. We are preparing to stain a deck and had questions regarding the Benjamin Moore products — Clean, Brighten, Restore and Remove. Most of the guys (except for one) either don’t care or don’t know which product to recommend. Seems they want to cater to contractors as opposed to retail customers. I am sure the owner of the store would not be happy if he observed the way we were treated.

We have visited this store several times as we have always purchased Benjamin Moore paint. No longer! They are by far the unfriendliest people. Dunn Edwards here we come. The guy at the counter was so sarcastic and demeaning. He was upset that we made him get up off his rear and actually work that day. Does he think the painters pay for this stuff themselves?!

These guys are amazing, I know next to nothing about wood, sanding, sanding, and paint. Every I go in there with complete ignorance they give me plenty of 1 on 1 attention, never try to sell me something I don’t need, and are very pleasant and patient with me. These guys are EXPERTS in their field and they are also great people. I highly recommend Supreme Paint in Redondo Beach.
