The UPS Store

The new management (for about 1 ½ yrs.) is terrific. Such a difference from the previous owners’ horrid service.
These new folks are friendly, patient, and helpful.

I haven’t had to do a live scan in a while so technology may have caught up in the last few years, but I used to dread getting scanned because the workers were generally grumpy, overworked and almost as annoyed with the scanner as I was. I had to set aside at least an hour between long lines, slow moving employees and technical difficulties. Not today! I walked in and was helped within minutes even though the only employee at the desk was on the phone. I only waited a minute or two for another employee to start setting up the scanner. She worked quickly and was friendly and helpful. Next time I need to mail something I’ll come here and hope that process is just as pleasant as this one was.

I have been going to this store for 3 years now and the staff has always been so incredible kind and helpful! I usually have my two kids (and sometimes even my small dog) with me, and they always treat me so well. They are fast, efficient and nice. Thank you for making my shipping experience so positive!

They have many different types of paper to choose from, and the color turns out GREAT!
Teena has always been so helpful! She even re-​sized my images for me when I needed help, and cut them down the appropriate size. She always delivers the best customer service, Thanks Teena!

I had a box there for several years. They have been raising the box prices every year. Sent some on my mail back to the sender. The help does not know what is going on, get different answers everytime. Other stores UPS stores are cheaper in the box rentals.
Beware. Closed my box.

I had a very pleasant experience opening up a new mailbox at this location, and my first few experiences with picking up packages has been very easy with great customer service.
Disregard the previous reviews mentioning bad smells and incense… must be from a different owner.

Paid $ 110.00 to ship an overnight pkg on Friday with delivery on Saturday. The UPS store did not list the perishable pkg for Saturday — but instead had it out for delivery on Monday at which time the pkg would be spoiled. USP main office had absolutely no idea what was done or any idea of how to locate or fix the problem. They were not even able to call the Redwood City UPS store. The store is closed and there is absolutely no way to remedy their mess. No doubt in my mind — — - I will ship FEDERAL EXPRESS next time.

Picked this UPS store because of it’s convenient location and lot’s of parking. Couldn’t be happier with my experience! Have been in here on numerous occasions to ship packages and make some color copies. The woman working behind the counter is always super friendly and very good at multitasking, I think her name is Tina (?). Even if she is the only person working at the counter, she helped me with my copies, rang other people up, helped someone else find the forms they needed to fill out… Sometimes it was busy, sometimes I was the only other person in the store but things always seem to run very smoothly. Thanks!

this is the closest ups store to where i live so i came here when i had to drop off a package. while it is located inside woodside plaza shopping center, this shopping center is divided into two parts, one to the north side of massachusetts ave, and one to the south. since i normally go to the south, to visit rite aid, i naturally drove to that side, but when i didn’t see the ups store, i called and was told that they were next door to michael’s, which is on the north side of the shopping center. good thing i asked! and i’m glad that someone picked up and told me (sometimes they get so busy that no one picks up!)
i drove over to the north side, walked in, and to my surprise, and luck, there was only 1 person in front of me! the lady behind the counter took my package, taped it up (since i had to show her the receipt/​packing slip inside, so i brought it open, not taped up), scanned it, and handed me the receipt. et voila, we were done!
although my transaction only took a couple minutes, when i turned around to leave, i saw quite a long line forming behind me, at least 5 or 6 customers, waiting in line for this sole staff member to assist.
again, i got pretty lucky, but i can see myself returning here and possibly having to wait in a much longer line to process my transaction.

When I was looking for the closest UPS this one popped up. I was a little worried because of the reviews and how going to the UPS store can be a nightmare. But the two ladies working today (I wish I caught their names) were very nice and helpful. I thought I printed out a label which I didn’t and they gave me a few different options to print it out there instead of sending me away. Little stuff like that shouldn’t go without being noticed. Thank you two for the friendly service!

Just did an entire transaction without anyone saying a word… awkward. I hope my package will make it.
Summary: horrible customer service.

Great place to drop off your packages or have something shipped! The girl whose name I cannot remember because I’m horrible with names was super helpful– she greeted us as soon as we entered the store and asked us? how she could help us= I was kinda hoping she’d ask– «What Can Brown Do For You. LOL
In all seriousness… I’m glad I was able to find a close-​by drop off location for my packages.

The notary here doesn’t know what she’s doing. She notarized our change in title document incorrectly. I argued with her at the time, insisting it wasn’t correct, but she refused to do it differently. My broker cannot accept the documents. A waste of $ 20 and, more importantly, my time.

Only one employee, so be prepared to wait if you need help. We tossed a bunch of our overly priced color copies because the quality sucked. They charge 59cents per page, 10 cents more than at Staples. Laminating was $ 2.69! $ 1.50 at Staples. I will never go back for their business services.

Do NOT trust these people with your packages! They nearly cost me a lot of money because they did NOT add Signature Confirmation like I *specifically* requested for a very expensive package. I even asked again as I was leaving the store to confirm it had Signature Confirmation. I wasn’t concerned about losing the item (I’ve used UPS commercially for many years and have never had a package lost) or damage (the item was not at all fragile), but I was concerned about package theft if left in front of someone’s house. So I only got some insurance coverage (in case it was damaged) and requested signature confirmation.
Because Signature Confirmation was omitted, the driver left the package in front of the house. Someone took the package before the recipient got home. I spent the next 3 days frantically trying to find this package, initiating tracers and insurance investigations. I contacted the store, and they didn’t even apologize for forgetting to put the Signature Confirmation that I specifically requested. They were useless. Fortunately it turns out a neighbor took the package for safekeeping and finally brought it back to the recipient.
The parking and location in the Woodside Plaza are very convenient, so it is too bad. They also have crappy hours, closing at 5:00.
Incompetent and/​or lazy workers. Again, do NOT trust these people with your packages!

This place is just fine-​friendly fast and efficient service with new ownership and I feel bad for them having to absorb all the poor reviews from negligent past owners so hopefully I can help balance them out a bit :)

It’s too bad that checking reviews of a UPS store is not something you’d automatically think to do. I mean, it’s a UPS store, right? It has to be mostly okay. That’s where I went wrong. It was decidedly NOT okay.
I stopped by to drop off an Amazon return and was shocked by how horrible the customer service was. There were two employees working and not a single customer. When I told the woman after she approached me that I just needed to ship my return, she slapped the plastic label holder on the counter and told me to attach it. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal but I was holding my 25lb toddler so I asked if she could do it for me. She flat-​out refused saying that I had to pack it myself. Well it was packed. All it needed was the shipping label affixed. So I said «is it too much for you to do it?» And she again refused. I said «are you kidding? Is it so hard for you to do that?» And she countered with «is it so hard for you to do it?!» To which I replied «yes, actually. Because I’m holding a toddler!» if the place had been swamped with customers maybe I would have understood her absolute refusal to help at all, but give me a break. I will go out of my way to use a more distant drop-​off locale in the future as this place has miserable customer service.

Reeks of smoke.
There are a few females that give acceptable customer service. The male owner has always been surly and gives me the feeling that I am wasting his time.
If you have a package that is ready to send, and the post office across the mall (next to the pet store) is not open, and you don’t have the time to drive to the pack & ship in Sequoia Station (near Max’s and Jamba Juice), then go to this place.

I am shocked at the reviews here are so bad. I almost didn’t come because of the Unilocal reviews, but I needed to ship something and this was the closest store.
Seemed like an average UPS store to me. The girl behind the counter was nice and very helpful. She helped me pack up the items and helped me pick the best price possible.
Store seemed really average. Neat and clean and it didn’t smell to me. Maybe it has changed owners?

Went to this location cause it’s close to my new place. I should’ve checked Unilocal first. I would’ve gone to the El Camino Real location instead.
As almost every other review details, the customer service at this location is nonexistent. I had a very simple job for them: sending a package back to Amazon. I had all the original packaging and a shipping label. All they had to do was tape it up.
I should say at this point that I guess I’m just used to quality customer service in this area. Take Amazon, for example. I average about an order a week from them throughout the year. Occasionally, I have to send something back. It happens. They don’t bat an eye. Most of the time, they don’t even charge me for shipping it back. They want me to be happy cause they know I’ll come back to them to buy more stuff.
That said, it was absolutely shocking and insulting that this UPS location informed me that there would be a $ 2.00 taping charge for the box I just brought in. I literally laughed at them, as I’ve been to many of these UPS chain stores to ship things and I can’t remember any of them ever charging me simply to tape up the box. Even if they’re supposed to, they have enough common decency to not charge it on a single box.
Not this place. The guy just stared at me and repeated that there was a $ 2.00 taping fee. I said fine, watched him take two seconds to do it, using no more than $.02 worth of tape, and I vowed that I would never ever return to this location.
It’s shocking to me in the Internet age that people have the gall to offer such horrible service when that single experience can be spread virally online, costing them real money in business lost. $ 2 gained can turn into $ 200 lost in the blink of an eye.
Whether it’s arrogance or ignorance, this business owner will not avoid his or her karma. Judging from the other horrible reviews they’ve gotten, it is only a matter of time until they have absolutely no customers and will be out of business permanently.
And they will have no one to blame but themselves.
