I have been ordering from them for about 4 years since I moved to the area. The quality of food has been steadily declining for a while now. the garlic knots are cold, hard, dry and basically inedible. the pizza and pasta always arrives cold when j order, no matter what day of the week it is. the only time I have eaten warm food directly from them is when I pick up my order. the pastas I’ve tried are: penne a la vodka and chicken Parmesan, both bland, tasteless, cold, with the least amount of sauce possible so also dry. I call to complain and they tell me they have gotten several complaints about the food and they’re working with new chefs. personally I don’t care who is cooking as long as the food is tasty and edible which it’s not. in short, very disappointing.

Poor Service I placed an order for delivery. The person who took the order did not explain to me that their shrimp scampi was w rice instead of pasta and that the price was $ 26 instead of $ 19 as stated on the online menu. I called back and they transferred to the manager. The manager was extremely rude and transferred me back to the main line w/o telling me. I will NEVER order from this restaurant again.

This used to be an amazing place, maybe they had an off night? First off they I don’t give out the pizza bread anymore which was very good. No big deal but everything added up after that. I ordered a Peroni beer on tap, it was warm and flat. For the appetizer we had the muscles Barosa, usually we devour it within minutes because it’s so delicious. The quantity was lacking, and the white wine sauce was nothing to be desired, it was actually very bland. For my main course I ordered spaghetti Bolognese, what I order at all Italian restaurants. What came out was spaghetti with cooked chopped me. No red sauce no indication that anything else was mixed in the chop meat. The service was good and the waiter did take off the pasta after I mentioned the lack of any resemblance to an actual Italian dish. I used to go here all the time when I lived in Queens. I’ll give it one more shot perhaps, but tonight, for my birthday dinner, it was definitely not good. I’m giving two stars simply for the service. The older man Who is at the door and«reeded» us was pretty rude, but there was little interaction with him again.

This review is based solely on the attitude of whomever answered the phone when we called for delivery. Some background information: Barosa has delivered to me numerous times. My boyfriend called to order delivery and gave his phone number which was not in their computer, so immediately there was annoyance by the employee who answered the phone. When he gave the address, he was told they do not deliver there in a rude manner. I suppose it was an inconvenience to now add him to the computer file. Looks like we won’t be visiting Barosa anytime soon for a sit down dinner since they can not be bothered delivering to us.

My wife and I have been here many times and always leave happy. We usually order the brick oven pizza with mushrooms and sausage. As an appetizer we order the fried calamari. Both are always delicious. Our most recent visit we ordered the eggplant parm sandwich and the barosa salad. Both were awesome. Highly recommended!

Barosa… delicious. I’ve been here once and the entrees were spectacular. The night I came with friends it was packed full of people and there was a line. No kidding — it’s quite a great Italian restaurant. Definitely would love to come back again though, just so try some of the other veal dishes.

Very nice and inviting place with strong customer service and an original menu. I walked in on a cold and busy Saturday night in October and was made to feel at home right away. I would absolutely recommend dinner here!

Was at Barosa last Friday night for a friend’s birthday. Skirt steak was unbelievable. Cooked to perfection! Food is always delicious and staff is always, always attentive! Great go-to, special, or any occasion restaurant!

I came here on a Sunday night with a large party. We were seated by the window. The food here is obviously Italian so if you’re not craving pasta, seafood, pizza, meat dishes, etc… then you should probably look elsewhere. Also the lighting here is incredibly dim. I guess it’s that romantic atmosphere going on. I shared two dishes with two other people. We tried: Eggplant parmesan: this dish was incredibly salty. The eggplant had the salty batter on it and there was a gracious helping of cheese on top. I was not a fan of how salty this dish was. Chicken primavera: grilled chicken is something I generally avoid at restaurants because they are usually tasteless. I also thought this dish here was tasteless despite the heaping amount of vegetables on top of the dish. The chicken was a tad bit dry and tasteless. Veal marsala: okay this dish was rather tasty, and I liked that the entrée(like the other entrees) had the vegetables and potatoes. The green beans were a nice touch, and I never thought to put green beans and marsala sauce together. The bread on the table was a bit cold and hard, but the second batch of bread was much better and paired well with butter. Request fresh bread if it’s already cold on the table. Gratuity was already included in the bill since our party was so large, but they printed the receipts in a funky way. When they give you the initial bill it already has the gratuity + total printed on it. However after you give them the credit card, they come back with the signature receipt, and there the total pre-gratuity is printed on, and then THEY handfilled in the tax line themselves with the pre-calculated gratuity. So it’s a bit confusing since in other places I see that they print the gratuity and then there is an additional line for additional tax.

Are you Italian? No Do you know the owner? No Are you maybe dressed provocatively? No Then expect to wait at least an hr on the weekends. I have been wanting to come here forever. It just never stays in my Brain long enough to go. However this week I said«let’s do barosas on Friday» Got there at 7:30, was told by the host 30 – 45 mins… One and a half hrs later, literally 5 mins before I was about to leave we got seated(please see first 3 sentences) I could go on and on but all I will say is, everything we ate was delicious. Our service was quick as lightening. We had; Veal dish — I don’t eat veal, but my date said it was amazing Chicken parm with vodka sauce– my server literally said«I order the exact same thing». Best chicken parm I’ve ever had. It was delicious. And if I go again, I would wait another 1.5 hrs.(Not on a school night tho)

This restaurant is very nice. I came here with a group of friends for a friends birthday and we had a reservation. They were very timely and had a table set up for us in the back. What I liked about it was that there were not a bunch of cramped tables. There was room between each table even though the restaurant was packed! The ambience was calming and the food was delicious! I got the ravioli, which was five, medium sized cheese ravioli in a nice sauce. My portion was relatively small in comparison to the other dishes my friends received. I’d say the prices were slightly higher than other places but definitely not too expensive. The lighting was dim, which seemed romantic to me and I would say the place is a little more on the fancy side; definitely not a sweatpants and t-shirt joint!

If I were to come here again I would go with one of the pizzas that everyone raves about; my veal piccata was served lukewarm and was overcooked/tough and very disappointing. The shrimp parm was lame… shrimp had a not-so-fresh fishy taste to it. Our waiter was nice enough, when we were lucky enough to see him. Yeah he was scarce, didn’t check on us after getting our food and took forevvvver to get our check. I would recommend grandma’s meatballs though. The two juicy flavorful meatballs were bathed in divine sauce and the fresh ricotta that came with it was incredibly smooth and light. Tiramisu for dessert was not bad either.

I’ve been going here for years… great staff and great food… Anything I’ve ordered here, I’ve enjoyed… and I’m very picky about my Italian food. 2 words… GRANDMA’S. MEATBALLS. do not hesitate… order them.

I always order the calamari w arriabata sauce and a pie of regular pizza. I don’t know how anyone can get that wrong. But the guy who answers the phone always rubs people the wrong way w his rudeness. If it wasn’t for the calamari and pizza tasting so good., I’d give this place 3 stars. a tip for thought, train your phone answerer guy! He sounds so rude and off putting! !!

What a fantastic restaurant! I went here for a dinner meeting last night and was very impressed by everything: the waitstaff, the ambiance, the food, etc. We were seated at a quiet table in the back, which was very conducive for our meeting. We ordered several appetizers which came out in a very prompt matter, and which were all delicious. I had the ravioli special for dinner which was very filling and tasty. My colleagues got cannolis for dinner, which I stole a taste of. I’m normally not a big cannoli fan, but these were exceptional. I also thoroughly enjoyed the music, and the general ambiance of Barosa. I would definitely recommend it to friends!

Ordered the seafood avocado appetizer it tasted really good but portion size was tiny. My husband ordered the veal piccata it was a bit acidic and overwhelming amount of capers. I ordered the spaghetti meatballs like you can’t go wrong with that but the meatball had no texture it was too smooth for my liking and had no seasoning and no flavor. But the spaghetti was perfectly cooked and the sauce was good. Portion size for our entrees were quite big as well. I mean maybe we just ordered the wrong items cause this place has really high ratings but I mean I’ve had way better Italian! This place isn’t that great.

Have been coming here forever and then some. Food is always consistent. I enjoy the chicken barosa or the chicken francese. Both pretty good size cutlets and substantial amount of items on the sides to fill the plate. The mussel appetizer is absolutely delicious. Comes in a huge bread shell waiting to be picked off piece by piece since the white or red wine sauce has already sunk in making it super moist. I like the red sauce. Lots more flavor. This place offers valet parking. Restaurant itself doesn’t take reservations for groups less than 5. On Fridays I have heard they have dancing late in the evening but I haven’t seen for myself. The dinning room is very large with a side window view. Fits 60 people or so. Bar very long long and can easily for about 10 people. Later in the evening Thursday– Saturday go early or be ready to wait. Good for birthdays or family events.

Many years have passed where I have promised myself to stop in to eat, last week I made good on my promise and I wish I had fufilled it sooner. The Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad was furiously fresh cut with no moisture on the greens as if cut on the spot with a ceramic knife. Crunchy, no oxidation marks and not cold. The chicken was flattened out, pounded quite well and was as tasty and juicy as a steak. Broccoli Rabe & Sausage Risotto was off the flavor charts, easily making the top of my broccoli rabe list. The sauce seemed to speak to a hint of mustard sauce, the dish was — - chunky, almost a fifty to fifty ratio, broccoli & sausage to risotto. So substantial in flavor with perfectly cooked risotto it truely was a delicious combination, a delicious decision. For my main course I decided on the Filet of Sole Oreginata. The fresh oregano paved the way for the sole before it was to be chewed, just by its initial aromatic presence. The creamy white sauce worked perfectly with the light flakey fish. After a few fork fulls of the home made tiramisu, I felt like I was drugged, in a good way. Carrying me off to thoughts of future dinner possibilities, dancing in my head.
