Eden is usually on my top 3 list of restaurants in Rehoboth for a great dining experience as well as just a great evening. My experience last night has sullied that opinion From start to finish it was disappointing. Showing up at the exact time of the reservation we were told we needed to wait for a time even though there were empty tables. Escorted to the bar area we waited fifteen minutes for the bartender to acknowledge us when there was no one else at the bar. We made or selections for dinner from the menu which is always interesting and varied. My venison which I know should be enjoyed medium rare was almost raw. The attempt to cook it a bit more was unsuccessful. The pricey chateaubriand for 2 was also almost raw and had the appearance of a few pieces small tenderloins atop a dollop of mashed potatoes. Also flavorless. The pork chop although a large portion was rock hard and inedible. I will certainly be rethinking my choices for a fine dining experience. The only positive part of the evening was our very friendly and attentive waitress Amy who went out of her way to try and make things right but her efforts where dashed by the kitchen. Time for Eden managers to do a thorough review of what’s going on there. Better luck next time. MJD

Disappointing New Year’s Eve this year, last year was perfect as have most of our many other meals, this was a big let down. I know the trend is to mix sweet and savory, I am not a fan. Honey butter on garlic bread? Ugh. Why not take that garlic bread and grill it to top the lackluster grilled Cesar salad that was without croutons, instead a big glob of what tasted like tomato paste-was I supposed to stir that into dressing? Lamb shank was nice and tender if a bit lacking in flavor but Parmesan risotto was really bad, starchy, tasteless, undercooked. Desserts were good but my hubby would not eat crust on key lime pie because of the seeds in it. My biggest gripe is how they rush you, when I pay upwards of $ 200 for dinner I would like to use some more of the allotted two hours. Wound up holding my loaded salad fork so they would all stop bugging us to take salad away. I thought the wine pairing was a nice idea.

I have been to Eden before and it was nice, however this visit was an outstanding experience. I had made an online reservation through Open Table and asked for a couple of special requests. One request was to be seated in one of the side booths, draped in sheer fabric and the other was to see if I could bring a special bottle of wine and pay a corkage fee. After submitting the reservation, I was sent an auto-reply from Open Table letting me know I should phone the restaurant directly to arrange special requests. The following day I phoned Eden and left a message which was promptly responded to by John. He told me the booth was no problem, however the state of Delaware does not allow anyone to bring wine to an establishment. I told him I understood and explained the significance of the wine. It was a craft wine from a small vineyard in Sonoma, California and not sold in many places. He was very nice and said he was sure they’d have something comparable on their menu. When I arrived at 7:00 Saturday night, I was surprised to see the wine I requested to bring on my table. I asked my waitress, Laura who brought this? She told me that after John spoke with me he wanted to make sure my dinner was as good as possible, so he went out of his way to get this specific bottle of wine for me so I could surprise my date. It was an excellent surprise indeed, to both me and to my date. I would like to give kudos across the board for this dining experience. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, the food was top notch, Laura, our server was outstanding and the wine was perfect. Thank you John and Laura for making this such a lovely evening. I don’t believe it could have gone any better and I appreciate the considerable effort you made to make sure this was a memorable night.

Real nice place, with quite a bit of charm and very well thought out menu. It’s a good location, which also has some pleasant quiet outdoor seating as well to a degree. Had to wait for a bit, and the kitchen got slammed but how they handled this was what really stood out. Crab hush puppies are real nice, you can’t really go wrong with crab around here and if they manage to screw it up, it’s a real bad sign. Doesn’t happen here. If you see anything with crab on the menu, particularly in the made towers with other seafood I strongly recommend it. Grouper is wonderfully cooked as well, they luckily didn’t murder this either. There’s also some interesting game meats(antelope) and other items, but it’s very hard to diverge from the seafood items here. All of this was handled great as the kitchen got overwhelmed. I nearly expected something to get screwed up but they handled this with professionalism and also pulled out great dishes. Very impressed by this place. It is a little on the pricey side, but manages to deliver and of course there’s no sales tax so that helps the wallet also.

My fiancé took me here for my 30th birthday and it was amazing! We ordered the scallops and the grouper and both were cooked perfectly. The coconut risotto with the scallops was perfect and so unique of a flavor. Our waitress was also so helpful and nice, she knew exactly what type of wine to pair with our entrée choices. If you’re looking for a delicious meal in an unique atmosphere I’d definitely check out Eden!

Perhaps our best meal in RB… and that is saying a lot as there are so many great places. We started with drinks at the bar. The bartender was predictably grumpy but helpful enough. The potions were strong. We started with the tuna tartare and it was a fresh and interesting take on it. Then for our mains we had the grilled antelope and the seared grouper. They were both great, but the antelope was the hit of the night. Dessert was a deconstructed candy bar which was phenom. Also the wines are very reasonable. We had a Malbec that was silky and delish.

Really had a great time here for my partner’s birthday. The appetizers were outstanding. For main course, my partner had antelope. Very tender and flavorful. I had the Mac and cheese, which left me wanting more. Dessert was great and the waiter gave us free shots for the occasion. Will definitely be coming back soon!

I read many reviews of resturants before selecting Eden to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The one pet peeve I have is being rushed… I like a cocktail(Martini) before even thinking about looking at the menu. I asked for a booth, via open table, fantastic! Afords a little privacy for that special evening. Our wiatress was great, Allison. Minor infractions… Food was great, we stared with the full cheese board, 8 cheese’s and a fantastic bottle of white Bordeaux, both of us ordered the fillet and I ordered a fantastic glass of red wine to go with it(Orogeny, Pino Noir) Amazing! Finished with a shared dessert, Crème brûlée, it was just ok. All in all, it was great!

This was our second visit to Eden in roughly one month. During our first visit, our friends recommended Eden, and they were right. The antelope, charcuterie and Martina’s were very good. I would rated at 4 stars. The atmosphere was also very nice. We walked to the restaurant at dusk. However, our second visit was not as good. My fish was boring, the charcuterie was very good, but the Old Fashion was watery/bad. I would recommend Eden, however. Go with friends, close to dusk and further in to the restaurant away from the front windows. On average, I’m at 3.5 stars and hoping for more next time around.

Went to Eden for dinner last night with a group of 17 for our family vacation. The only positive experiences we had were 1) we were with our family and 2) the food was excellent. That wasn’t enough to give it more than 1 star. If I could give ZERO stars I would. I am giving 1 star for one reason and will never return here for that reason alone. Our waiter, John, was terrible. Apparently, he has been here for over 10 years and came in on his night off to serve our party. We had the entire upstairs and from the beginning we were turned off. These are the reasons we were completely dissatisfied: — He kept telling us this was his night off and he would rather be out drinking with his friends — He reluctantly(and refused initially) to combine two tables when there was NOONE else upstairs and all tables were available — He was in a rush and forceful when we were ordering — He told us he would easily be able to separate our check into 3 for our 3 families but totally screwed it up at the end of the night and needed to re-print all checks multiple times — His attitude was condescending — He certainly did not offer fine dining service This restaurant has great reviews, and I can see why. However, John made this experience one to forget.

This is a casual atmosphere with an upscale interior and menu. The staff is very nice and you have a choice of sitting in the back restaurant, the bar in the front or alfresco. Shout out to the great bartender Colln. He also told us about a special tequila that was amazing. I willl be back.

The food here is quite good and deserves more like 4 stars. Our waiter was nice butter service left soemthin got be desired. Our appetizer was cold so we had to ask for a new one, a request for a split salad was forgotten until after the entrees, and then. We realized that an entrée with dirty risotto looked a lot like black quinoa. We asked the waiter and he lied to us and said it was dirty risotto. Then we looked up the other pork entrée and it came with black quinoa and green beans — what we had received and not ordered. They comped coffee that we didn’t really need. Felt crappy to be lied to and get a half apology.

This place is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner date. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last weekend and it was really great. The ambiance is perfect, low lighting, draping curtains, beautiful décor. The service was impeccable. Our waiter(I forget his name dangit) was very nice and helpful in giving recommendations. We both had a cocktail to start, I got a bourbon drink called a ‘Hey Mikey’ and it was really delicious! Not typically a bourbon drinker but man was it good. For appetizers we had the watermelon and roasted corn salad, also very good. Entrée’s my husband had the skirt steak which he raved about the entire dinner. He said it was the best cooked skirt steak he had every eaten. Charred and seasoned perfectly on the outside and still pink in the middle. I got the scallops which were served with a coconut risotto and green curry that was to die for. Scallops could have been seared a bit better but overall great flavor. For dessert we had a type of chocolate ganache cake that was encrusted with oreo crumbles. Whipped cream on top. So. good. We did come during Rehoboth’s restaurant week, so Im not sure if all of these items are available all of the time. But my recommendation is go. No matter what you get, Im sure your taste buds will thank you!

If you want to be berated by a hostess and browbeaten by a maitre d/waiter, this is the place for you. We booked a reservation for two on May 23, 2015 on open table. When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated at a table directly behind the reception station with a seat that extended into a main circulation aisle. When we asked to be moved, we were told by the hostess that there were no other seats, the seat in the aisle was not a problem, and if we wanted a better seat we should have said so in our reservation. Faced with that kind of deductive reasoning, and the fact that there were other empty tables, we decided to leave. As we were leaving we were confronted by the maitre d/waiter(he never identified himself) who quickly proclaimed that I was being too loud. Now that was probably the result of being 60 and having listened to loud rock and roll in my youth but that is not a way to start a meaningful conversation(quiet down old man!). We walked out the door as the unidentified man yelled out that he didn’t know what our problem was. That one statement alone sums up the problem better than I ever could. We have eaten at Eden a few times before and enjoyed our dinners. The Chef is creative and the restaurant is well designed(with the exception of the table in question). So I’m sure that someone in the management chain would actually want to hear about what really happened but we have not found that person yet. To make matters worse, we were notified by open table this morning that Eden reported that we cancelled our reservation. That actually prompted me to write this review. I guess lying by omission seems to be the way they handle issues. Avoid at all costs — there are plenty of other high end options in Rehoboth who appreciate your business.

Very pricey for mediocre food. I ordered the filet which was expensive for the petite cut of meat I received. Two of us had dinner, one drink each, and each with only our dinner, no extras which came to $ 100. There are several other restaurants with better options at a better price in Rehoboth.

This place is awesome. I eat everywhere in Lewes and Rehoboth. Finally made it to Eden and I can kick myself for not trying this place earlier. Everything about the service, ambiance, and meal were superb. I am definitely making this a regular check in! I had the amberjack fish. …all I can say is hmmmm, hmmmm EXCELLENT!

Wonderful! You expect if you go to a Michelin starred restaurant in NYC to get a great meal. Finding such a meal I’m a beach town is pretty rare. «Welcome to Eden». It seems a little boastful but this is food heaven. Roasted shaved Brussels sprouts. Pumpkin grits. The chef is creative and carries it off perfectly. Our server made every table feel like they were his one focus. We couldn’t have been more pressed.

The chef’s ambitions far exceed his talents. Everything seems either under– or over-seasoned. Classics from steamed clams to Caesar salad to cioppino to simple seared tuna have all been«reimagined» in one way or another with limited success. Case in point: Cioppino infused with so much smoke that it tastes more like a campfire than like anything of the sea. Case in point: a grilled deconstructed Caesar gets an inappropriate dose of sun dried tomato tapenade, but forgets the cheese and anchovies. Please, next time just call it a romaine salad with sun dried tomatoes. Case in point: Seared sushi grade tuna with«sticky rice» that had none of the sweetness of the classic rice dish — just a hard congealed unseasoned blob in the middle of the plate. I could go on. Service is very nice. Cocktail and wine lists are nice. But for my money there are much more«seasoned» kitchens nearby.
