Great food and atmosphere. This restaurant is beautiful on the inside. We were seated right away during prime dinner hour. We had the edamame hummus appetizer with veggie slices — nice and light start, highly recommend! For our meals we had the cashew pad Thai(great dish for Vegans — had tofu and no eggs), the palate noodle bowl(super refreshing, also good for vegans), and the Thai sweet chili shrimp in stir fry rice noodles. All were incredible. Service is friendly and attentive. Bread was brought out at the start which was appreciated as well. Overall a nice hidden gem on route 1.

Great meal and very nice atmosphere. Waiter was very attentive and nice. Will definitely be returning. Only reason for four stars instead of five is I need a more comfortable seat. Menu is varied and you will surely find something you like.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Palate came up as a top restaurant close to the Comfort Inn. We walked across the parking lot and went right in, warmly greeted and seated right away(we got there around 5 on Friday). It was hard to choose from so many delicious sounding dinners! We finally chose to split a few things — the special soup that night was mushroom and tomato with spinach and barley. This was a nice, light broth with chunks of mushroom and spinach, best soup we’ve had with a perfect balance of spices. Then we split the bean burger which was by far the best veggie burger I’ve ever had(I had given up on finding a good veggie burger until now) flavored with sesame and ginger, topped with avocado slices and a carrot slaw with a bit of a kick — served on a brioche roll and a side of the best and lightest potato salad ever. The grain bowl was also quite tasty and light and beautifully presented with all the colorful grains and veggies. We were full but that didn’t stop us from ordering the flourless chocolate cake, which was equally delicious.

If you live in the Rehoboth/Lewes area or just visiting and have not been to Palate, you are missing out. Could be the best meal in the 15 years of being here. Had the cod — a special — and it was truly special. The service and everyone who works there are fantastic. Try it. You won’t be sorry.

Had a very scrumptious tomato soup. The main course was very good and tasty. The main course was rockfish and whole lump crabmeat. Very surprised that such a small restaurant could have such«quality«food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were at Palate last night. When we walked in, we were told since we were the first we could sit any where we wanted. But when we chose a table for four by the window, we were told we could not sit there. It left us with a very uncomfortable feeling. We had the pot pie special. I have not felt well since. Why tell someone they could sit anywhere they want when the place is empty. I hope to find a much better place.

The fact that this place has 5 stars is no mistake. The food is amazing. We had the edamame hummus and cheese board. The hummus was light, airy, and full of flavor. The cheeses were fresh, creamy, and large in portion size. Diego gave us friendly service and the atmosphere is welcoming. We’ll be going back soon, definitely for 4 – 6 happy hour!

The brunch at Palate is amazing. The crab cake Eggs Benedict comes with two delicious crab cakes chock full of lump crab, and a luscious lemony hollandaise sauce. Omelettes a were also perfectly cooked. Everyone cleaned their plates! As well, be sure to order the scones and Jewish Apple cake. Everything is freshly made and so good. The best part is that it’s very affordable and near all the outlets!

Lunch at Palate today was delightful! My friend and I each enjoyed a grain bowl that was topped with a yummy crab cake. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. Our desserts were Pumpkin Crème Brûlée which was amazing and Flourless Chocolate Cake with a fabulous ganache. Lorraine’s desserts are fabulous. This place is a winner… fresh local ingredients are best.

The staff and food were beyond amazing. The atmosphere was warm. They accommodated our family in a pinch and we couldn’t have tried to plan a more perfect meal and setting for our wedding party. Thank you and can’t wait to go back. I’d like to swim in a pool of the crab dip or crème brûlée.

This a happy hour review and not a sit down dinner one. Went to happy hour to check out the restaurant and menu. The bartender needs to get some personality if he wants people coming to his happy hr. First! I had to ask him in if there was a beverage menu and any happy hour specials. It was like I asked a crazy question! Now they did have a few selections but not on the chalk board. The did have some $ 6 apps advertised. We shared the crab skillet and Spicy Thai shrimp which was excellent. Mini crab skillet a little greasy – something missing on the flavor profile but the presentation was cute in a little skillet. Little neck clams, cilantro, lime and jalapeño. Not sure if it’s dip worthy but the clams were fresh and tasty. Maryland sweet corn and crab chowder was very good with a nice amount of crab, not heavy and served with Old World bakery baguette which is delicious. Moving on to dessert… Dessert coconut cream cake… Was very good. The bartender served us full price wine until we asked if there were any happy hour specials.

The salmon special was delicious, properly prepared, and well seasoned. It was on a gratin broccoli that was good, but a bit of a rich preparation for broccoli. Ingredients, like the tomatoes in caprese salad, were very high quality. The coconut cake was out of this world and left me wanting more. The doing room is fine — nothing special. Our waitress was perfect. The prices were reasonable for the quality. I will definitely go back and would not hesitate to recommend other than I might qualify that the ambience was not special.

Went to Palate’s for lunch today and the food was awesome! Loved all the choices on the menu and Joe was terrific! Will be a place I will go often. Someone commented on the location. I like the fact it is tucked away and would hate for it to ever relocate downtown RB or Lewes where traffic and parking are nightmares! Nage is another gem that is tucked away too and does great business!

Stopped at Palate for lunch today. Food was DELICIOUS… watermelon/cantaloupe chilled soup and fresh made Old Bay seasoned pasta(by Hari Cameron) with crab, shrimp and calamari. Service was OUTSTANDING. Nice glass of Chardonnay. Great place… must visit.

I stopped by this place with my mother for a Saturday lunch. The food was really good, and the service was exceptional. Only a few tables were filled; it was relatively slow for lunchtime on a weekend. We each ordered salads; she ordered chicken salad over arugula and I ordered the quinoa salad bowl with fresh lump crab(can’t remember the specific dish name). It was really devine – all of the veggies were flavorful and the crab meat was worth the added cost. My mom’s arugula was so tender and fresh – and the chicken salad was really good quality meat. Our server Ty was very attentive and friendly and gave us the backstory behind the restaurant and catering business. We also had someone from the kitchen staff come over to chat with us and ask us how our meal was. Super nice people. The location is not ideal, as it’s tucked away in the Safeway shopping center off Route 1. While I think this place could absolutely crush it with a prime location downtown, for now this spot can remain a hidden gem.

What a surprise to find this great restaurant. We stopped by for lunch and were greeted with great service and excellent food. The Maryland Crab Soup was thick and rich. The baguette was crisp. I loved the watercress salad with the Asian dressing. The Oyster Po-boy was full of fresh plump oysters.

Palate is all about it. Creative local, organic cuisine within a vintage hip setting, and the menu is just too good to be true.

We love the philosophy of Palate of farm to table and local sourcing and were very please to find that the food is terrific. Fresh ingredients, great taste combinations and desserts to temp even those who might think they can resist. All the salads we had were delicious and the the strawberry rhubarb pie was amazing. We will be back!

Palate is a fantastic new restaurant in Rehoboth. From the food to the service, Palate is top notch. Their potato salad is the best I have ever had and the rockfish is amazing! Even though they don’t have a kids menu, the chef made my 3 year old a wonderful pasta plate with butter and Parmesan cheese. The owners are honest, hard working, and fantastic chefs! I can’t wait to go back!
