Went in for a take out order, Fellow asked if I wanted chips or bread as a side. I selected bread. Picked up my order, went home and started unpacking the bag. Ewwww, the bread was unwrapped, just thrown in the bag, it was a portion of a long roll with ripped ends and it looked as though someone took a bite from it. Do you really think they throw the bread away that those at the tables don’t eat? It looks as though one of them ended up in my bag. Now, try and get hold of a manager. The person who answers the phone is the«manager». So, I am going to contact the department of health in Dover and file a complaint. The place may look clean, but in my opinion, giving me used bread with a bite taken out is disgusting. I took a picture of the roll and will share if I knew how to upload to Unilocal. You really don’t know who is handling your food in these places and what the bosses are telling workers to do with leftover food. Sneezing and breathing on food, and the possibility of some of it ending up in my takeout bag. NEVER going there again.

I couldn’t not leave a 5-star review as much as I loiter at this location(don’t judge me; I spent like $ 100 bucks a week at this joint) but the truth is that– this Panera is superb, largely due to the personable, patient staff. I’ve seen this place when it’s beyond hectic with pushy, impatient customers and the customers lack the basic conception of empathy. People often feel entitlement and forget the person behind the counter was there before you arrived and will be there once you leave. The gang at Panera is always great and never give me a sigh or «that look» when I’ve been here for three hours writing letters. You get a lot of affluent golf-types coming in– no offense, golf historians– and the usual regulars, and it’s often the latter more than the former that appreciate a place and it’s staff. Five stars all the way– I’ve been exiled here at the Beach and this place has been my solace for a few months. Leaving this week and I’ll miss it!

I would love to give 5 stars to this Panera Bread but unfortunately they got rid of my favorite Panini the Smokehouse Turkey Panini! That was the best thing they offered paired with the broccoli cheddar soup. So I ended up having to choose a different sandwich and nothing I have ever tried there(other than the Smokehouse) was worth sticking with. I went with the Turkey Bacon Bravo which was not great… The bread was almost sweet which didn’t fit with the rest at all. My boyfriend chose the Steak and white cheddar Panini and that was far from being good as well. The meat was flavorless and the whole Panini was unimpressive. Almost all of the employees there are very friendly and the baguette there is the best I have ever had anywhere so far. Also, the Iced Green Tea is delicious. I guess I’m just gonna have to find something else I like there

This panera has become a staple tradition for my mother and me whenever we are in Rehoboth, especially on our way back from the outlets. Recently we went there and dined in. I asked for a flatbread that was apparently not on the menu anymore and after asking around, they decided to make it for me(yay!). The place was crowded but very clean. I also redeemed a free pastry that I had on my card and they had a wide variety of pastries and cookies to choose from. Service is decent paced, price is average as well– food is always good.

Food Fascist: Thy Name is Panera Went to get one of my favorite lunches today, French Onion Soup, only to be told it has been taken off the menu to maybe return in six months or so. Turns out Panera has gone«clean food» only. That makes Panera as insufferable as Whole Foods, only with an added dash of hypocrisy for flavor and good measure. The chicken and turkey are both heavily salt brined to be moist, which is fine. So, given what we all know to be true about the effects of excess salt consumption, where is the sodium free menu? Oh right, I forgot. Low sodium isn’t sexy. Clean food is both sexy and politically correct. Forget this place and go get a good grinder at Louie’s, Nicola’s or Grotto’s.

Solid Panera. Great parking, has a drive through and staff is nice. Of course they get busy during the normal B L D but who doesn’t? I’d totally chose this Panera again and again. Fast service.

Came here for a light dinner. The place was crowded and the eating area sort of in a disarray. The cleaning staff could do a better job. The food was like any other Panera Bread, so I’d rate it as consistent. Desserts and sweets were good.

Favorite panera. Great seating indoors and out. More coffee choices later than other locations. Someone always tidying up the dining area. Friendly staff even at peak times like the lunch rush.

I will always be a fan of Panera! Got the fuji apple salad– amazing! And the broccoli cheese soup– double amazing only difference I saw in this Panera compared to others is the staff :(The staff here on this day was very inattentive and standing in groups talking while there were customers. Doesnt effect me personally but if people want to stand in circles and chat dont do it in front of the counters where customers can see you not working.

Panera Bread is always good and if for some reason it isn’t they fix it fast. Great friendly service is also part of the experience.

They have a nice outside seating area and their service is pretty nice. But the only thing I do not like is that sometimes when it is too busy they mess up your order very easily but it’s okay they fix it for you right away and they are very friendly

Usually, on vacation, we try to avoid chain restaurants/fast food. This year, we wereheaded to the outlets and Panera was close by so we decided to eat dinner there. We weren’t expected anything amazing, but the food was decent. The grilled is GREAT there. The kids really enjoyed our visit to Panera(we even left with cookies and coffee cake). The strawberry salad was delicious. The service was fast and convenient. We very much enjoyed eating at Panera Bread. We enjoyed eating at Panera WAYMORE than we enjoyed eating aat Harpoon Hanna’s and Bethany Blues.

I have a gluten intolerance, and I realize that hoping for ANYTHING I can eat at a place named after bread is probably a lost cause– but this store made a huge effort for me, and I appreciated it very much!!!(as a disclaimer, I am usually able to eat some of their salads with minor issues, I am not a severe celiac) I asked for two eggs with cheese and a side of bacon, and the manager took care of it himself to make sure that the surfaces were wiped down and that the food never came into direct contact with bread. I had no stomach pains, no illness, just a super filling breakfast :) The girls at the counter were very helpful, and called the manager over as soon as I asked whether they were even able to accommodate my requests– I wasn’t counting on it. Pleasantly surprised, and I will return every time I’m in the area :)

Wow… loud, noisy, frantic, expensive, attractively displayed food with a hustle-you-up atmosphere…:(

I am a HUGE fan of Panera and for years have hoped one would open in Rehoboth. I was really happy to finally go there for lunch last week… twice…and both times I have had sandwiches with lettuce which was not washed properly, lots of dirt! I’ve spoken to management three times about this and they told me the lettuce comes prewashed and prepackaged. I suggested they change vendors or wash the lettuce themselves before serving it. They made me another sandwich and gave me a pastry for free which was a very nice gesture and appreciated, but I will never eat their veggies again and I suggest you beware the unwashed lettuce! I know they just opened but serving dirty lettuce is not acceptable for a franchise this large. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and hope they get this issue resolved. Two stars for dropping the ball after being made aware of the issue and not immediately resolving it. Side note: The pastries are delicious!
