Good traditional Tex-Mex. A few weeks ago, the air temperture inside was pretty chilly. If the weather outside is cold, I suggest to make sure you’ve got a sweater with you!

Stopped by this place after the Auto Museum. Looked really cool on the inside. That’s about it for the good stuff. Service was friendly but extremely slow. We had a party of 10. Place wasn’t crowded at all. We got there before the dinner rush so we thought they would be quick. Nope. Took 20 minutes to get drinks. Guacamole we ordered came out brown and old. Same with the Guac on our meals. Seemed like left over Guac. Food came out at different times over the next 2 hours! They got a drink order wrong, food order wrong(twice). They seemed overwhelmed and under staffed. Maybe both. My wife’s shrimp salad was okay. Nothing great. My meatball soup was flavorless and bland. Didn’t even eat it. Same outcome from a few people who ordered it. Best part were the chips and salsa. The whole experience left me drained of energy. Don’t think we will be back ever.

We loved, enjoyed and were amazed by the delicious food that we ran into here at Berthas restaurant in Reno. So glad to have found this place. For sure a tradition to stop by and eat here every time we come down here. Family owned, nice friendly waiters, good drinks, yummy food 5 in my book

The best. The best. THEBEST. Always consistent and service is great. Especially tonight! We ordered dinner to go with a couple margs at the bar while we wait.(Ps don’t complain about the wait. They are always busy. That means it’s good. So chill have a shot and wait it out! It’s worth it.) Food fresh and piping hot with all the scream and guac you could want! Love it so much! Be back forever and ever and ever!

Wonderful service. The atmosphere was nice, but a bit dated. That didn’t matter much though, the food was amazing and you get a LOT of it. The waiter was very nice and funny as well. Definitely my favorite Mexican place in Reno.

I usually don’t go nuts about restaurants… but when one comes along that is not a chain, is family owned, and is obviously cared for with love, I have to speak out! Bertha’s has authentic Sonora style Mexican food; I judge Mexican restaurants and how well they do refried beans(I know– wierd, huh?), and his place absolutely rocks! The ice tea, enchiladas and tacos were all top-notch. The décor is unique and wonderful and the wait staff could not be friendlier. A rate 5 stars for the family at Bertha’s!

I was on a roadtrip to Reno and this restaurant was our last meal in Nevada before heading back to Los Angeles. The trip was over 2 weeks ago and I’m still thinking about the delicious meal I had with my road trip buddies. I got the red chilaquiles with eggs, rice and beans. It was heavenly! I thought LA had good Mexican food but Bertha Miranda’s blew my mind. The service was fast, our waitress was very kind and everyone cleaned their plates. Huge portions for the right price, too. Would definitely go back for another meal the next time I find myself in the Reno/Sparks area.

6:00 pm stopped in the delivery and take out at Winners Corner. Quite a few items on the menu were covered up. No vegetarian items available. They could make something w/outeat but it’ll cost the same… no thanks… Won’t be back… and there was only one customer dinning in.

Parking in the teeny tiny squished parking lot to the side of the building whilst everything was covered in ice and snow was the only down point of the experience — and even that was actually kinda fun because I got to stretch my mad driving skills to the limit. Bertha Miranda’s is location in a pretty shady area of town — between Wells and S. Virginia in a teeny little building. I almost commited a «enter through the wrong door» sin by going to the front of the building when, in fact the entrance is on the side of the building. When you enter the Restaurant you are greeted with whicker and leather chair seating, Mexican tile covered tables and a huge stone wall on the East end. Mood music is playing and I half expected to see some dudes playing live music walking through the restaurant. The left side is a bar and gathering room and the ride side is tiny seating area for patrons coming to enjoy brunch or dinner. My husband and I sat on the lower level of the Restaurant. I ordered(for lack of remembering the proper time) taquitos and he got a steak and grilled onion dish. Our waitress was very punctual and the food came out before we had the chance to fill up on home made thick chips which was amazing. He liked his dish very much and mine was also very tasty. I have been looking for a place to enjoy better than Muriettas for quiet some time now that isn’t a drive across town and, while this is still a bit of a drive it’s totally worth it for us to come here instead. I would go back for sure and try the other two menu items that I thought about ordering so that I can enjoy what I am sure will be just as good, if not better than my first experience. Maybe next time I’ll try the margaritas as well! Bottom line? If you want real and authentic Mexican food come to Bertha Miranda’s! You won’t be disappointed.

I ordered the carnitas plate(slow roasted shredded pork) and what what I received was seasoned pork steak. I could barely cut it with a knife, much less shred it with a fork like I should have been able to. On top of that the taco meat seemed undercooked and the chimichanga was very plain. We also ordered a pitcher of margaritas which were very expensive for the cheap tequila they used. Service was terrible! We have lived in the Reno area for 25+ years and have eaten here many times. It was so bad that we will probably never go back again. There are far better Mexican restaurants around town.

Decent food but nothing special or authentic you can tell by the chimichonga on the menu that’s not Mexican food for a good price

We were looking for anything that didn’t smell like cigarettes and have the clang of slot machines. Bertha Miranda more than exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. The service was quite possibly the best we had all week in Reno. Fast, attentive, remembering special requests and friendly without being pushy. Loved it and will absolutely be back.

Took the husband for lunch on a Friday and we really enjoyed the food, the service and the margaritas. Our waiter explained the specials for the day and we both got the lunch enchilada special which was very good. The margaritas are not too sweet and went down very well. This is definitely a restaurant that we will put into our Mexican rotation.

I bet their in-dining is fab. My order was to go. I called first to make sure their tortillas, both corn and flour were home made. Yes they assured me. I ordered 24 flour and 18 corn. Pretty obvious we were using them to make something special and not just wanting to chow them in the car. The flour did seem homemade but were folded in quarters! They were so dry and didn’t roll easily. The corn were rolled up. Needless to say they all just fell apart. If the corn tortillas were homemade then I will stand on my head, spin in circles while twirling plates on my feet. So disappointed and those babies cost me a small fortune! Nearly $ 30.00. Cry.

I have been here about 6 times over the span of 10 years. Their food was an instant hit with me, as they make authentic refried beans and Mexican rice — not the canned/box crap. The parking lot is about the worse aspect of this place, but their is a nearby lot that provides a lot more room to get in/out of, barring there isn’t an Aces game going on, as these spots will fill up quickly. Margaritas are on point and they’re pretty generous in their pours for the cocktails. The atmosphere is very comfortable and screams of Mexico/Spain vibe, with wicker/leather chairs that are very comfortable, stone walls and lots of tile. Be warned: their chips are addicting and their salsa is delicious — with just the right kick for anyone to enjoy. I had the chimichanga this last visit and it was pretty darn good. Lots of melted-cheesy-goodness inside a fried tortilla that wasn’t greasy at all. It came with a side of guacamole and sour cream that complemented each bite perfectly. The service was okay; our waitress was very apologetic at the end and thanked us for being patient. There was a busboy that passed our table about 4 times, neglecting to notice that we needed more chips. I finally got his attention and asked him for more. Overall, I would definitely come back here. It’s not an «omg, amazing!» type place where I’d drive from South Reno to come here once a week, but if someone mentioned it, I would oblige their request.

I haven’t been to Bertha’s in quite some time and I won’t wait so long next time! Upon walking in I will ask for Wes(I think that was his name definitely started with a W lol). He was 5 star!!! Very warm, courteous, and made sure we had anything and everything we need/wanted. I had a big lunch so I just ordered an appetizer burrito and I got it wet with green sauce $ 5.95. It was huge and delicious. The margarita was decent. I could only finish about half and didn’t want a to go container my excellent waiter was concerned that I didn’t like it and offered to fix my order. That attention to detail makes a difference.

I don’t think I can find a single thing wrong with this place. The ambience is incredible and the food is even better. Without a doubt the best tamale I have had in my life. There really wasn’t anything I had that wasn’t spectacular. I went for dinner and came back fthe next morning for breakfast. warm freshly made in-house flour tortillas. All of the ingredients were clearly fresh and high quality. A must eat in Reno. Service is first rate and the servers are so friendly.

I came here before on recommendation from a friend, so I decided to try it. I didn’t even know what kind of restaurant this was until she told me. I took my daughter here and she loved it. The food is supposed to be authentic, and it was. I had refried beans with chile verde, and everything was good. I got an extra empty plate so my daughter could eat some of my food. They did not charge for the plate. I like the way this place is set up; big chairs, lots of room to move around and big tables. If you want to try something new, I’d give this place a shot.
