I’m at Reno Rodeo and looking for food. I’m not looking for the usual food at a Fair– fried this and that. I need to eat. Imagine how happy my wife and I are when we see Brothers Barbecue on site. The pork sandwich with habanero and a BBQ bowl for the wife. Nothing better in all that’s offered. Always tender and moist. Delicious. Thank you gentlemen. Back to the grandstands– satisfied!

I always drive by here when I’m headed to get my nails done, so I thought it was about time I gave them a try. There’s no parking lot, but I was able to find side street parking very easily. I really liked the whole theme they had going on. It was really rustic and western looking. We were immediately greeted by a friendly cashier. I ordered a pulled pork bowl and my s/o ordered a pulled pork sandwich. Almost as soon as we had gotten out drinks and found a spot to sit, our food came out. Bonus points for speed! The meat was really tender and juicy and I loved the creamy Mac and cheese. One thing I wasn’t a fan of was the Fritos on the bottom of the bowl. I wasn’t able to finish everything, but what really surprised me was that my s/o couldn’t finish his food. He’s a big dude that eats like 6 meals a day. Hopefully that gives you an idea of how big the portions are. I was a huge fan of the spicy house bbq sauce. It was sweet, smokey, and had just the right kick. I’d have to say that this is probably the best bbq I’ve had out of all of the places I’ve had in Reno, but nothin’ beats momma’s home cookin’.

The curb appeal is that of your families house. Come on I and eat with us kind of feel. The hit link does not disappoint the chew starts with a great snap. The flavor is good and a hearty amount of heat. This is complimented by the two sauces. One good sweet and the other with some heat. The brisket had a great smoke ring with not too much smoke flavor to spoil the meat. The Mac and cheese had good stretchy cheese. Clean flavor original sides. With a few departures such as the kicked-up coleslaw. The corn bread was not too sweet but I could have had a slightly bigger portion of bread. Overall a stop with diving into the downtown neighborhoods. Thanks my Brother’s.

I would really like to give this place more stars, had my hopes up really high. Got let down BIG time. First my order came up super fast not that’s a bad thing but it was a little suspect kinda like I got the oven reheated brisket from yesterday. My roommate came here a couple nights ago I tried his brisket it was sliced thin and very tender. Mine on other hand was super thick and little bit chewy. Didn’t taste like it was smoked at all. I hate to say it but I’m going to have to take this food back man. It’s like a went to my friends cookout and he charged me for a plate. I’d like to give this place a second chance but I think it’s going to be WAY in the future. On a good note the service was excellent.

Order 2-meat combo: juicy ribs & tasteful brisket, not over-sauce like others but simply smoke with dry rubs … Kicked-up coleslaw is a must !

Thur Review Update brought to you by the letter«B», as in Brisket! And the letter«R» as in Ribs! Yep. The Brisket and Ribs Plate is the stuff Barbeque dreams are made of my friends! It’s a Big, Belly Busting, Behemoth plate of beefy bovine goodness, with a set ribs from the finest swine, Niman Ranch to be precise, all accompanied by plentiful servings of your choice of sides! For $ 15 bucks, this is a serious steal, offering enough food to feed even the most voracious appetite or make two meals for those just a little less hungry! These guys get BBQ! They don’t sauce their meats, which is proper in my mind. They just let the combo of meat, rub, and smoke harmonize together. The brisket is awesome and you can easily tell how moist it is just by looking at it. One bite and you’ll be praising the heavens that this is your meal! The ribs are just as good, with a solid bark on the exterior giving way to juicy meat that separates from the bone easily. These neary ribs aren’t going to fall apart in your hand, nor should they! The last time I came here I ordered the same plate and felt the sides fell a little short. Well, it seems they’ve made some improvements, added some new items and have some great options riding shotgun to their que. I went for the Mac n cheesy and traditional slaw, and just added some of their habanero sauce to kick it up! Brothers has kicked the curse of that location on Wells and I’m pumped about it! With Summer here, I’m looking forward to many more meals there!

Finally made it over here, most times I would think about going there, but they were already closed. Today I got Brisket Plate($ 12) comes with ½LB of Bark-didly-icious Brisket and 2 sides. Sides today: BBQ Baked Pinto Beans, and Buttery Good Mac N Cheese(healthy scoop) plus a small but nice perfectly cooked piece of corn bread. Service was fast and efficient, cashier was easy to do business and very pleasant, gave us a quick run down on how to order. I asked for a sample of potato salad as I was split between that and the beans. She was quick to give me a sample. It was a well done salad, but today I choose the beans, but might choose the salad or slaw next time! We(me and a co-worker) were outside, and food came flying out the kitchen, so we ate at the picnic tables right there. The sauce labeled«Spicy» was awesome in flavor, spice, and a perfect amount of heat! =) I used to love Oakland BBQ, and now there is a successor worthy serving up a great product for great pricing! The dish today filled up My Dragonic Appetite nicely, which always impresses me! TIP: They have a $ 40 meal that includes LOTS of food, look for it next to the register if you are looking for a large meal deal!

This place is great — maybe the best BBQ in Reno. Maybe some folks some who don’t live scoff at the idea«best in Reno», but this area has good tradition in BBQ. I used to be a KCBS judge, and this isn’t far off some of the best efforts. First the bad: the burnt ends aren’t that great nor is the link. The good: the brisket and pulled pork are first rate. The spicy sauce had a nice bite. The service is first rate and the atmosphere is relaxed. BTW — I just checked their website and didn’t see burnt ends on the menu. I was just there, though, and had the brisket. Delicious.

I don’t know why it took me so long to find this place. We stopped for lunch today. My wife got a chopped brisket sandwich and I ordered the special today. A chile Verdi pulled pork, beans, Frito chips, onions and cheese bowl(I added a few drops of the habanero BBQ sauce). After checking out a few different BBQ places in town I’m glad I found Brothers. They use good meat, smoked just right, and the BBQ sauces complement the meat and doesn’t just hide the flavor of the meat but accentuates the flavor. The staff are super friendly and made us feel welcomed. It’s my new go to place for amazing BBQ. Stay Sweet.

This is barbecue. Reno already has some legitimate credibility in the barbecue scene with their annual rib weekend, but Brothers Barbecue is bringing their A game year round to their cute house-turned-restaurant near downtown Reno. Once you find a parking spot — which can be a hassle — follow your nose to the front door on the corner of Wells and Roberts. The interior of the restaurant resembles many modern barbecue places attempting to replicate the feel of old places in the South, but Brothers actually can back that look with real food. I like to gauge a barbecue place by their ribs and brisket, so I ordered a 2&2 — two meats and two sides — with brisket, ribs, potato salad, beans, and a positive nod of understanding from the server. This is barbecue, really. The pork ribs were very good with a perfect texture and flavor with the sauce and rub; they serve them with the membrane attached so be prepared. The brisket is perfect with amazing flavor and texture. Their two sauces are great, but I prefer the extra sweet heat of the habanero sauce. The sides are legit with authentic potato salad straight out of your grandma’s cookbook and beans with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The small bit of cornbread helps balance everything out. Brisket is king here with ribs helping to round out the royal family. If you’re luck runs out at the casinos, you can quickly get lucky again by heading to this barbecue heaven.

This place is freaking awesome! Top notch food and service. I had the brisket. Juicy with the right amount of fat for flavor. Great sauce, beans and potato salad as well. Can’t wait to go back.

Not sure what to have for Lunch as I arrived to Reno for the weekend, I merely chose this place because of the reviews. I wasn’t holding my breath but was I not disappointed! It actually impressed me. I had the Memphis Sandwhich. Comes w a spicy sausage, nothing I care for. Didn’t realize it came w it. Their bbq sauce was really good! Made passing this down so much easier, not that it was hard at all. My only disappointment was interior space. It’s small. But décor, housekeeping… Was superb. I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone. If stop by again if I Was in the area. Staff was very friendly, warm and attentive to customer needs

March 19, 2016 Saturday — 12:15PM for lunch 2 Adults Atmosphere — 5 stars Food — 5 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Need Meat! Atmosphere — They transformed this small house that was once a BBQ joint into a cozy and friendly place. Food Drinks — I had one of the great beers, Rogues Four Hop IPA beer. Food — Lunch — I ordered the two meat plater for $ 15, brisket and pulled pork. Added some of their BBQ sauce, the habanero. They also have their house one. The habanero had a nice sweet heat to the sauce. Corn bread came with meal! Service — Solid. Greeted when we came in, friendly service at the counter and she helped clear the table. Future — Yes please.

I like it a lot momma! They have barbecue down to a science. I had pulled pork and sliced brisket that was nice and juicy and very tinder, with a perfect smoke ring around the brisket. I had mac&cheese along with potato chips and tea for my meal, the cost tallied up to about $ 17.00. The place is an old home converted into a que joint. It is very clean even outside were I saw seating as well. They have flat screen tv’s so you can catch up on sports as well. The customer service is second to none in Reno. Parking was easy as pie when we arrived. However, during busy times it will be a chore to find a spot as this place is nestled into a residential area and there is only street parking that I could see. Button line: Get your tail over there, eat and be happy!

After a couple of beers, we needed a quick and inexpensive dinner. Brother’s BBQ was mentioned and that pretty much sealed the deal. Located right on Wells and Roberts, the only parking is street parking, but we were lucky enough not to have to walk too far. I ordered the Memphis sandwich, which is the pulled pork sandwich but topped with coleslaw. Although the menu states that all sandwiches came with pickles and onions, this one didn’t. I don’t know if that was intentional or an oversight though. The meat was nice and tender, but did need a little more sauce, so I topped mine with their habanero BBQ sauce. Not as spicy as I thought it would be, but still had a nice little kick to it. The other meal was the pulled pork plate, which comes with cornbread and two sides, both of which we made mac and cheese. Mmmm, that mac and cheese is so creamy and really addicting, but as soon as it cools down it loses everything it had going for it, bummer. Service was a little slow, and we surprised to see a big party come in after us and get all of their food before us. Did they order ahead? I don’t know. But our waitress was really apologetic about it. I’m looking forward to trying some more of their sandwiches or that BBQ Bowl sounds awesome too!

Inspired to visit Brothers tonight as they were donating 25% as part of the Stick a Fork in Cancer fundraiser. Lemme tell you we were not let down! We had the $ 40 feast that came with 6 ribs, a plate of pulled pork, ¼ chicken, cornbread, 2 sides and a mess of napkins. I loved every bit! The ribs were especially well prepared. Nice smoke ring while being as tender and juicy as you can image. This place has great food and great service. Beyond that, they help out the community with fundraisers and even have a coat drive going. Good food, good service and good people. You need to give it a try.

By far the best BBQ in the Reno/Sparks area. The last time in I picked up a rack of ribs and a pound of brisket. The ribs had a sweet peppery dry rub and didn’t need any BBQ sauce to make them better. The rib meat came right off of the bone and were moist. The brisket had a perfect smoke ring and was so tender. When I added their Habanero BBQ it was pure heaven. I also picked up some mac and cheese(super cheesy and hit the spot) and the kicked up cole slaw(seems like it was missing something. Not«kicked up» enough for me.) The service is always good and they offer you sauce, plastic utensils and napkins. I’ve been here four times and am hoping they are a the rib cookoff so I can compare them against the other rib cookers throughout the U.S.
