My husband made reservations for our 7th anniversary. We went on a Sunday evening so it wasn’t too busy. The entire experience was perfect. We had a waiter by the name Lee. He described the items on the menu perfectly. He gave us time to then make a decision while he went to the bar and got our drink order. The food was AMAZING!!! The best filet mignon we have ever had. Lee came around to make sure everything was ok and to see if we needed anything. Lee knew it was our anniversary(husband mentioned it when reservation was made) and he made every attempt to make our night special. If you want great food definitely make it a priority to eat here. To Da Vinci owner/manager: Lee is an asset to your restaurant!

Went on a weekday evening, not many patrons there, but I can’t understand why. The meal was superb(like most food at the Siena Hotel), served outside on the patio watch the river flow by. The very personable waiter started me off with some very fine bread, fresh and hot, and an Amuse Bouche — a sort of unique mini-appetizer. I didn’t catch the name or ingredients, but it looked and tasted like nothing on this planet, and I mean that in a good way. The French Onion Soup was not the cheesiest I have ever seen, but the broth was unusually good, since the onions were browned properly, and not the usual gray overcooked mush. But the star of the show(other than the very strong pair of Bloody Mary’s served by a bartender bearing an eerie resemblance to Christian Bale) was my New York Steak, enormous and flawlessly cooked medium rare as ordered. This was a steak to remember, and I do remember every bite(almost). Unfortunately, it was some sort of special item they don’t have on the menu all the time, so I might never be able to recreate that beefy experience. Dessert choices were limited in number, yet maximal in quality — I wanted 4 out of the 6 items, but settled for a delicious espresso mousse cake. The check? Not small. Not small. But truly worth it. I will return, like that famous guy, I will be back!

Everything was amazing. Crab cakes were flavorful and full of crab. My steak was perfect. And the raspberry chocolate mouse dessert was the best dessert I have had in a long time! All of the staff that we encountered were pleasant, prompt and just plain great!

My husband and I used a Living Social coupon to eat here recently on a Saturday night for their 3-course dinner w/wine pairing and it was nothing to rave about — except that it was a great deal and the wine was good! Service was friendly, but lacking somewhat.(i.e. no one refilled our water, no one came by to see how we were doing… they just set the items on the table and moved on) The food was mediocre at best except for the first course: I had soup for the starter and it was a pretty good creamy asparagus soup. My husband had some sort of decent salad, but it was unmemorable, obviously. I had a bland salmon entrée, AND it was way over-cooked and dry. I did not eat it all. It was served with a bland rice dish — that I skipped all together. There were snap peas/snow peas also as a side and they were actually done perfectly. My husband had a small steak and it, too, was a bit bland, but cooked nicely. For dessert, we were served some sort of sickeningly sweet chocolate«thing» with berries. Meh… I doubt we will be back. Coupon or no coupon… there are too many GOOD restaurants now in Reno to have to put up with this type of food. One word: uninspired.

Our recent visit to this was our second time since our first visit was uneventful and not very good. We decided to try it again and while the service has improved dramatically, I feel the menu is not very exciting. Too much like all the other mediocre restaurants. The Siena advertises a French chef and exciting food — what is exciting about prime rib? I would like to see more French versions of their food. How about filet mignon Rossini style? How about a genuine French onion soup? What about potato gratin rather than French fries? What about some great French sauces — beurre blanc, provencale, etc. I would love to see a menu that no one else can compete with in Reno. That is not the case at Da Vinci’s. everything was okay but the only thing that was excellent was the service.

Oh, yes, a great choice. We were fairly early for dining in Reno, which might have been why we were seated immediately, and got attentive service, but the food matched that experience, and we had a wonderful meal, great view, and pleasant memories.

We were there this past weekend and we got in after a 20 minute wait we were seated. Which was pretty good on a Saturday night. As soon as we were seated, the server came over, took our drink and appetizer order. We were immediately given our drinks, yummy bread, and our appetizer. Service was great up to this point only. Then it was downhill. Our dinner was taking a long time to be brought out, and we never saw our server, she never came by to check on us, give us an update or anything, we just sat there. The food was bad. I ordered the prime rib special, which came with mashed potatoes, salmon and a small lobster tail, so I thought. When it finally came out, I couldn’t even tell it was prime rib. It was so blackend, that for me, it was too spicy to eat. I couldn’t taste anything but pepper. I did notice the prime rib was not juciy but dry and tough. I was wondering about the salmon, well come to find out it was salmon mashed potatoes, which was gross. It was so fishy, it wasn’t even dressed up with butter or anything! The only good food item was my lobster tail. My partner had the lamb, which was tough and not juicy and was just ok, nothing special. Without alcohol our food bill was over $ 100. I feel so jipped for paying that much for what we had. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had. Yes, I did send my prime rib back and guess what, now they were all out. So I had the last piece, that was just sitting for who knows how long in the pan, so it makes since on why they tried to cover that fact up with seasoning. lol…They brought me out a filet mignon piece and it was much better but still no bang for my buck. I can’t believe for a restuarant like this, when the food was sent back no manager came out. I got better service at the Outback at home.

First time we have eaten there. We love the hotel overall except for the not valet parking LOL. anyways dinner was great. We had nice table over looking the river, the sun was going down so it was a bit bright at first. We ordered Filet Mignons with sauteed mushrooms. and they we good, the portions and pricing as are expected We were served amuse which I have never heard of. It was a tiny crabcake in some sauce and was delicious. The menu choices were varied and there was something for everyone. My only critique is they should serve a small scoop of sherbet after you eat.

It was our 41st anniversary & I was taking my husband to the Pioneer Ctr for a concert & I thought it would be convenient to eat at Da Vinci’s first. I’d read about the lobster deal, so we stopped at the Rewards Ctr first to get our cards. There were 3 couples ahead of us in line & two people at the counter processing cards. It still took us THIRTY minutes to get the cards. The Siena has had a make-over since the change over, & I don’t know if the owner’s wife is an amateur decorator, or what kind of decision went on with the hotel/casino’s redecoration, but it looks horrible. It used to be very upscale & sophisticated. Now, it’s like a disco nightmare. The same goes for the bar & Da Vinci’s. NOTHING that evokes Italy. I dare anyone to be able to find something attractive in those rooms. I like modern sophistication, but there’s nothing in the décor that evokes any response but YUCK! We had a reservation & were seated immediately by the window. Very nice. Our server was prompt & took our orders. It took 20 minutes for our soup & salad to be served. At one point, my husband asked our waiter if they were coming. The waiter said they, «Be up soon!» Now, it’s 5pm(the concert starts at 7pm), the restaurant had maybe 4 other tables filled, and the kitchen can’t dish up a bowl of soup & a salad in 10 minutes? When they finally came, the butternut soup & house salad were very good. The amuse bouche was tasty & a nice surprise, but that didn’t begin to fill the FORTYFIVEMINUTES it took for our filet & rib eye to be served!!! The waiter NEVER filled our wine glasses after the bottle was first opened. She did not ever reassure us that our entre’s were coming, even when it was obvious we were starting to worry about time. The beef was just okay. For two pieces of meat that cost $ 30 each, they should have been sublime. Beef is almost half the menu. It should be stellar. Remember, Harrah’s Steak House is a block away. I can get PERFECTION there for the same price. The complimentary lobster tails were very good. Much better than the beef. The veggies & new potatoes were totally forgettable. I thought this was supposed to be a classy dining room? If the chef was in a cooking competition, the sides would have been tossed on the floor. The bread was very good & fresh. What was the worst was that the dining room was ROASTING! It was a hot day & there was at least a 10 degree difference btwn the dining room & the bar. We asked for the air conditioning to be turned up, but it NEVERWAS! We sat & sweated in the dining room & couldn’t wait to get out of there. We finished our wine in the bar, as it was so uncomfortable at our table. Would I go to Da Vinci’s again? No. Frankly, the free lobster tail isn’t worth it. I’ve written all of the above criticism so that you might improve and survive in these tough economic times. If I’m going to pay $ 100+ for a dinner for two, it had better be worth it.

What a great place for fine dining! The duck was perfect, the fillet Mignon delicious– lobster tail nicely done. Our waiter, Lee, couldn’t have been more accommodating and attentive. The bus people were on their game also, which made for a delightful dinner experience outside with a great view of the Truckee river. A word of warning, though. Unbelievably, they do allow smoking on the outdoor patio, so be prepared– and that’s the ONLY reason a rating star was deducted. We think the reason for this is that the patio is really an extension of the bar seating, and not REALLY expected to seat diners. Fortunately, no smokers sat in the area while we dined. This was the first time we’ve been to the new Sienna Casino, and we must say we were impressed. All the popular machines were there, especially Buffalo, Batman/Joker and Ghostbusters. And EVERYONE there was so friendly– EVERYONE. We WILL return.

Returned to Reno the following weekend with a friend. After telling him about the prime rib experience my wife and i shared, he indicated a desire to try it. We returned to DaVinci’s one week later and it was like we were at a different place. While the food was still good the service had slipped off the map! The one thing that we raved about most the prior week was non-existent. We had a 7:45p appointment and were 45 minutes late after allowing more than an hour for dinner. We had to ask for a waiter several times, including in an effort to get the check. And this was the same waiter we had the prior weekend. C’mon guys, what happened???

My boyfriend and I were celebrating his birthday this weekend, with a 2 night stay at the Siena(where Da Vinci’s is located) I had seen a 2 for 1 Prime Rib dinner special advertised & decided to give it a try. I called for a reservation at 7:30, which is when we headed down. First off, the girl at the front was frazzled as all hell, and seemed to be untrained, and had nobody nearby to help her. She seated another couple before us, who had the same reservation time as us.(Okay…) We were seated by another woman who I thought was actually working at the bar located outside the restaurant…(her trainer maybe?) Whatever… things happen, we’ll overlook it. We got an alright table, in pretty much the center of the restaurant. A view would have been nice,(especially since there were open tables on the perimeter,) but I definitely wouldn’t score down for it. Our waiter was cordial, though it seemed like once I made my intentions clear(ordering the 2 for 1 special) our service was reallllly slow. It took about 15(maybe 10?) minutes to even get bread, but it was really good when it came. Our food came maybe about 30 minutes later. We had ordered our Prime Rib medium. Mine looked a shade or 2 grayer than that. Granted, I don’t dine at «fine» restaurants very often, I felt like my plate was a little underwhelming. Prime Rib — although it was sliced very thick, the seasoning just wasn’t there. It tasted alright with some salt and pepper, but I definitely don’t get what all the fuss is about. Also as stated above, it was a little over done for my tastes. Potato — the potato looked to be a «twice cooked» potato. The skin was there, but the innards were a sort of mixture of potato flesh, sour cream? and green onions. It tasted pretty good. Vegetables — or should I say lack thereof? There were 2 rainbow carrots(which were a little underdone) and 2 asparagus stalks(which were a little overdone) It seems they should have given 2 minutes from the mushy asparagus to the hard carrots. It wasn’t inedible, but wasn’t very enjoyable. Yorkshire pudding — was pretty tasty, though very mushy as it was filled with what looked to be the au jus(which was missing from my Prime Rib) once I figured that out, I poured it atop the meat. Our tab was $ 27. I feel this is an alright price for what we got, however, if we had ordered this on a regular night and paid $ 27 each? This would easily be a 1 star review. Try it out if you have a fat wallet, or just go on a Friday night. It was alright for us, maybe you’ll have better luck.

I went for the 2 for 1 Friday Prime Rib Deal. I stayed at Siena and the hotel offered free wine with booking. I took this wine to the restaurant and told them its from the hotel and they allowed us to drink the wine with our dinner, no corkage fee. I enjoyed dinner and the dessert. Though it is not the best prime rib i’ve ever eaten, I had a great time and the food was yummy. I liked the ambiance and the view of the river. Very intimate and classy. i love the décor.

Da Vinci’s had a 2⁄1 prime rib dinner special going and since my husband and I are suckers for food deals, we decided to try it. In fact, we went there for the same special 3 times. The food and service was great, my only criticism is the yorkshire pudding that comes with the prime rib, to me yorkshire pudding tastes like a greasy pancake and this was no exception. Dinner included soup or salad, we opted for soup was very nice, a butternut squash perfectly seasoned. Seemed like a great deal so we returned a few weeks later. On our second visit. same food, same great service but upon receiving our check we noticed that we were charged $ 3 for each bowl of soup. We asked about it and were told that soup is no longer included in the special, not a big deal but it would have been nice to tell us that up front. Third visit, we ordered the same thing figuring that even though the soup portion is small it’s worth $ 3, but when we get our check it is now $ 6 a bowl. We asked about it and were told that it’s always been $ 6…Ok, so I guess we were hallucinating when we «thought» it was $ 3 the week prior. In my opinion, they should have continued offering the special with soup, it just felt cheezy for them to take it out of the special unannounced, and then double the price on a 2 ounce bowl of soup without notice. My only other criticism is that without a discount or 2⁄1 special the food is overpriced.

Friendly staff. Good food. Great ambiance with easy on the ears music, Truckee river and bubble wall. our waiter Lee is great! fixed price menu is a deal with«Amuse-Bouche» of waffle cone made of black squid filled with lobster mousse, crab and cucumber. dee-lish! beautiful house salad with fresh baby greens, cherry tomatoes & choice of balsamic vinaigrette. my date liked the sole. I had the Da Vinci’s pasta with generous portions of shrimp, lobster and scallops. our compliments to the Chef! Varied wine selection by the glass and bottle. delightful experience from first making reservation, to tasty cocktails in the lounge, treatment by hostess and dinner itself. would have given 4.5 as dining experience pretty close to as good as it gets. we’ll be back!!! jt

Formerly our favorite restaurant in Reno especially for the unequalled view of the river. The new design is beautiful making it a great place to hang out in, but for this vegan there was only one thing on the menu: the house salad. Not another single choice. Chef made a «vegetarian» dish – which means it should only be plant-based – but I had to ask for the veggies to be braised in olive oil and not butter which put it in the lacto-vegetarian category. The fettuccine noodles it came with are made with egg making the dish lacto-ovo vegetarian, a fail for vegans. The only thing we have left to enjoy, I’m afraid, is the view.

This place used to be Lexi’s, it has a great location but was a little disappointed in the menu. We had reservations before seeing a show at the Pioneer(i’ll get to that issue). Was told that they just changed the menu. First, all the appetizers were seafood, not everyone likes seafood, no choices there. For the rest of the menu, there’s a prefix or not. Just a couple different dishes on the prefix. This menu is either meat, or seafood. I don’t think i even saw any vegetarian choices. I had the lamb shank on risotto, delish, especially since the bone was halved with access to the marrow. Superb. He had the filet topped with lobster and cream sauce with an asparagus risotto. Cooked perfect. With time to kill, we decided on coffee and dessert, only to find a mini NY Cheesecake was brought to us «it’s included» we were told. Included in what? We didn’t order off the prefix, included in the regular menu? Which might explain the higher prices. Was disappointed because if we didn’t want dessert, we’d be paying for that cheesecake anyway? We were hoping for some chocolate… no such luck. I think the menu needs improvement and people shouldn’t be «forced» to have dessert and if it is included, give us a few options. Complaint about their reservations service, apparently it’s just a general number to reserve at ANY of their services. We made this reservation almost a month prior, when we purchased our show tickets, arrived, they didn’t even have it on the books. We were also told, it’s not the first time it’s happened. The good part about that mistake, we were acommodated with a window seat as per our original request.

My husband and I had dinner here on Friday night. At first I was a little hesitant since we were the only people in the entire restaurant but our food was exceptional. Try the cream of asparagus soup, it was amazing. It’s pricey but not more so than any other nice restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive but gave us our space. We will definitely be going back.

What a joke, minuscule portions,$ 14 for four small shrimp,$ 8 for a sliver of iceberg, 6 bits of bacon and magnifying glass needed specks of blue cheese crumbles. But wait …$ 10 split plate fee to cut a filet that is a la carte in half, WTF over… silly us also ordered asparagus… it was totally old and shriveled… could this be because they had pretty much no business on a Friday night? This place is not Italian it is an overpriced steakhouse. The service was excellent, the filet was very good and the prices and portions are insane. Go to Sterlings… do not waste your money here.
