Really friendly people here. I brought in a Movado to be repaired, although they couldn’t repair it because I had left it to the elements for too long and it would cost more to repair than to just buy a new one. Although their wasn’t anything in particular that I like, they gave me a Movado brochure with all the latest models to check out. No pressure to buy or anything. If I’m in the market for another watch, I’ll give them a look first.

5 years ago, while on my honeymoon, I splurged on an Ingersoll watch while in Salzburg, Austria. It was meant to be a beautiful reminder of an incredible adventure. About a year ago, I decided to put my watch on in the kitchen and instead of landing on my wrist it landed on the travertine floor. My heart sunk — I was sure it was destroyed. The face was intact but all the gears and arms came dislodged. I took it to a friend who works at a jewelry store. His only resource was on the east coast and a tad odd. I wasn’t comfortable packing up my watch and sending it off without communication or security. So I packed it up and put it in my watch cabinet. There it sat. Then I was browsing through the program distributed by the Pioneer Center for a musical and saw an advertisement for Harland Watch and Diamond. It seemed like a higher end dealer and marketed themselves specifically for repairs. One a whim, I packed up my watch and headed to Harland. I was greeted by two employees. I pulled the watch out and explained what happened. The immediately recognized the brand of the watch(kudos to them for that) and said they have a repair service that can take care of Ingersoll’s. They had to send it off, receive an estimate and then, if I agreed, the work would be completed. If I didn’t agree to the repair for some reason, they would return my watch from the repair shop to Harland and I would pay $ 20 or so for shipping. I agreed and my watch left to be evaluated and I left with a claim ticket. About a month later, I got a call with the estimate… $ 55! Blown away. $ 55 to get my honeymoon memories back? Sold. They said past repairs of some watches had been in the $ 500 range so to come up with a 1⁄5 of that I was shocked. They said they would let them know to go ahead but it could be a few weeks or more as they were quite backed up with repairs. The gears and hands would be replaced /reattached and the watch would be set and calibrated. I got a call today(less than a week later) and my watch was ready to be picked up. I dropped by(without my claim ticket) and we talked about the watch, they pulled it out and let me see it. It was perfect! Time was set, gears were grinding and dials were moving. The watch was ready to go back on my wrist — as it did immediately. I paid via credit card and was on my way — huge smile across my face. I will go to them for any repairs in the future due to how impressive this experience was. Thank you to them, and their repair shop, for treating my baby right and bringing it back repaired and perfect!

I had the best experience with this store. I ordered a presant over the phone. she was very kind and not only did they handle everything for me, they helped me choose the right style, and kept updating me until it was in. I would highly recomend them and I deff will do business with them again.

Fabulous customer service. I had been searching for someone to do some jewelry appraisals for me. I had asked the owner, Ben if he could recommend someone to me. Silly me, Ben is a certified appraiser. Yeah! So I showed up without an appointment on a Saturday morning wondering what he needed to get me started. I had brought a few pieces in. He immediately grabbed his camera and made some notes. In a few hours he emailed me a detailed list and their appraisal. How convenient !! I didn’t have to leave any pieces, and all the notes were spot on. Now I need to take the other half in. I enjoy the shop and all the employees have always been so polite when I go in. It’s now my main shop in Reno.

I had a brand new watch that I had purchased 5 years ago but never used. I took it to Harland for a new battery. The repairman had it about 10 minutes and came back and said the problem wasn’t the battery. He said nothing else and gave me back the watch. The nice lady who helped me said they could repair it which might cost $ 50 or $ 100. I took the watch up the street to another watch repair company. The repairman tried a battery and it didn’t work. He then scraped the contacts with a screwdriver and when he put back the battery the watch was working. Total cost $ 10. I guess my feeling was that the Harland guy just didn’t care.

Over the last 15 + years I’ve had the opportunity to purchase many different items from Harland Watch and Diamond. It didn’t matter if I was buying a diamond for my wife of a fine timepiece for myself, I have always received first class service. There is no other jeweler I would ever consider using. Thank you for so many wonderful years and always helping me put a smile on my wife face.

I’ve been a customer since about a year ago when I bought a nice replacement strap. You are not going to find a better selection of mechanical, and hi-end luxury time pieces, under one roof for about 400 miles. They have a good assortment of Swiss pieces ranging from around $ 1,200 — $ 3,600 that I would stack ANY Rolex up against and win a rate result competition with. For the record, I am an aspiring professional horologist(watch maker), and bargain hunter who knows this market well, and can say one thing if nothing else about Harlands; you will get a great piece at an even greater price. Ask them to match interweb prices, and in my experience they will try and BEAT it! I bought my first watch from them today, and was reminded why these stores still exist. I love their personal service. I am always fairly well doted over when needed, and if they are unsure on a question I ask(like what’s the gauss rating, or VBH, or how many stupid lignes is the ebauche’, etc), they are good at researching and calling me back. I will likely never test their service department out, but I hear nothing but good about work they have had done. The owner is no slouch it would appear either. Seems SUPER involved in at least the buying side of things and has personally offered to hunt down any exotic(Oh A.L. Breguet… how you toy with my mind…), piece I could ever desire! I hope to someday take him up on that, and at a minimum they have made a customer and even stronger advocate of their business. In summary: People — go buy a real watch from Harland. Treat yourself to a little piece of human ingenuity and inventiveness. The mechanical clock took hundreds of years of scientific endeavor, blood, sweat, and tears to fully master. Now for a few meager dollars you can get al this technology and history in a nickel sized movement with hundreds of moving parts, working together in a little dance of mechanics, on your wrist! Mechanical watches are beautiful things, and treating yourself to a luxury item every now and then is good for you.(if you really deserve it) So go buy a watch from Harland and keep this tradition alive please. I sure will! They in an ideal world should have a financing option for qualified buyers like myself, and If I could give them 4.9 stars I would!

A nice watch of mine stopped working, and I thought it was a battery issue. Turns out it was something with the internal mechanisms. Quoted $ 40 for repair, only charged $ 30! However, the latch was loose after I picked it up. No way to tell if this was a result of the repair work, or normal wear/tear I’d just discovered. Completely fell apart about 2 days after repair, so I returned to Harland. They replaced the latch at no charge while I waited. My experiences with this shop have always been far beyond 5-star service!

Took my watch to Harland for a new battery. They took 2 – 3 weeks to get it done and charged me $ 40. Then later I took the same watch to have the clasp adjusted. They kept the watch for over a month, repeatedly telling me it was due in the day I called. This went on for several week, until I said just get my watch back to me, repaired or not. The watch came back a week later, after another promised date missed, and the watch was fixed. Not repaired, but with a replacement latch installed at $ 75 instead of the original adjustment quote of $ 35. They never said they couldn’t fix the latch, and never called me to get permission to install a new one. Turns out the delays are due to their jeweler being located in California. Above all this, their attitude was a bit surly and unfriendly when I complained about the delays. Pass on this place-many other watch repair/jewelry shops in town.

I went in to get battery for a Longines watch, since they are Reno’s authorized dealer. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff. Right away I was offered to have the scratches removed from my bracelet. While I waited for about 4 – 5 minutes I was offered water while I browsed their selection. After he(Didn’t catch the name) returned my watch looked like new again! I wasn’t charged for the scratch removal and the price for the battery replacement was fair. I’ll definitely go back when I need more watch services or shopping for a another. This was a great experience compared to some other shops in town. Their displays are very nice as well.

Best place to get batteries replaced in your watch anywhere. They charge $ 7 including the battery and they give good and friendly service. I’ve been charged upwards of $ 30 for the same thing. They have very nice watches of various price ranges. A nice comfortable little shop.
