I loved everything I got! Falafel combo & Greek salad with a side of eggplant! ITWASAMAZING(for 2 people, with leftovers). I’m so glad I discover this place. He does call ahead orders and was so nice! Will be back 100% be back. So friendly, so delish!

Great choice for Mediterranean food, freshly cooked on the spot. No alcohol served on premises. Good vegetarian selection.

The best thing about this place is that you can order online! Very useful for weekday lunch breaks. I ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich for pickup and when I got back to the office I only received the sandwich, not the hummus and veggie sticks(which I was actually excited to try!) the food was plain and rather expensive for the quality which is slightly disappointing for a place with so much potential. I probably won’t be back unless I absolutely have no other option simply based on the taste of the food and price.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner tonight. Glad we did because everything was incredible. I had the Mediterranean combo and ate every last bite. My husband had a wrap w the lamb and raved about it. The side was veggies w hummus. The hummus is so fresh and delicious. After dinner we had a sampler of the baklava desserts. They too were delicious. I left there already planning out in my head what day I can go back next week to pick up lunch. I am looking forward to visiting their new location on Robb drive! The service was phenomenal as well. The owner was there doing the cooking and was so welcoming and positive! I will go back no question.

So amazing! Everything here was fresh and high quality. You could taste the fresh garlic in the hummus and the falafel was cooked to perfection. I always drive by this place and I am so glad I finally decided to try it. Definitely will be visiting frequently and telling everyone I know to come here. So glad to have found a great Mediterranean place close to my house. Also, the gentleman working was very friendly and sincere. He offered us samples and explained items on the menu. Great customer service + great food = happy camper.

I’ve been here 3 times. First two times were duds. Slow service and nothing stand out good. It was a place to get food into my face and into my belly. But this last time it was different. I just got the wrap. I just got the lamb. I just got a side of falafel. I just really really enjoyed my food. The falafel was crispy and way better than any other falafel I have had in town. The bread I had was soft and didn’t take up the whole wrap. I’ve come to realize I don’t really get the shawarma thing. The flavors just don’t make me go, oooo. But the lamb sure did this time. All the flavors and textures were balanced. Price wise these guys are right on. I would have no problem adding them to my rotation if I worked close by. Prices wont kill you, but they definitely aren’t fast food. Plan ahead or call ahead. This is good everyday food. It wouldn’t be a place I take a guest from out of town. It’s not a must do… it’s a should do if you are nearby. Oh and being next to the best coffee place in Nevada doesn’t hurt either.

This is try number four here. First two were shortly after opening. Chicken dry, way way to many onions, slow service. Third visit was a plain salad, nothing bad to say nothing good to say . Fourth visit. Thought wow reviews have been good, must have gotten their groove! Stopped in after the gym wanting something healthy. Ordered chicken wrap, hummus small salad. Veggies were wilted, ok not a huge deal I grabbed carrots from my fridge. One bite of the hummus and nearly spit it out. Four sips of water the salt lick I just ate is no longer burning my tongue– not spicy SALT pure SALT. Take a bite of the wrap, it’s saltier than the hummus. Ok maybe I’m just having an off night I hand it to my friend. He takes a bite of the hummus– spits it out. Chugs a bottle of water. Tries the pita, stands up walks to trash spits it out and throws the entire meal in the trash. Left a message to warn them, never got a call. Oh well won’t be going back

The service and the man behind the counter were really nice, unfortunately the food was a tab below average, thus the three stars. We ordered a bunch of combination plates. The side salad and the hummus were really salty. Perhaps it was the time of day(we came for dinner and it looks like it’s more of a lunch place), but the chicken shawarma did not have a good texture and was really dry. The wraps were not in pita, breads but a tortilla-like wrap. And the tortilla-like wrap didn’t even wrap around the whole contents of the sandwich, so everything fell out as you ate it.

The food is good the prices are more than reasonable; Parking is hit or miss, but if you dare to venture into this joint… You will eat fresh healthy food with staff that are down to earth and just plain good people. The only pet peeve I have is that the table was not clean. For this I’m taking one star. The hummus was absolutely amazing. Bottom Line: Great place to eat healthy and save a few bucks. Go on and give them a try! Great place to

We were asking around for a Vegan joint, and a fellow vegg gal at the vape shop recommended here. I was happy to see a Vegan plate on the menue. As soon as we started ordering, the cook was dropping our falaful in the frier. They even brought out some vegan taziki sauce for us. Everything was super fresh and fast. I really wish I was in town longer so I could eat here again. Prices were reasonable for portion sizes.

I was hesitant to try them as the low reviews seemed really low, and all spoke of bland unseasoned food and it just seemed that Reno wasn’t going to get good Shawarma or Mediterranean aside from gyros. I’d practically forgotten what good falafel tasted like. But they were open later than most take out places and we were hungry and not wanting something too heavy. I called in the order and even though it was so close to closing, the person who took my order was friendly and let me know everything would be ready in 10 minutes. awesome. Food was ready when we arrived and they included various sauces. It smelled so good I had to take a bite while my husband was still driving. I think I was making little squeals of delight so my husband demanded a bite too. Now he’s the kind of person who doesn’t feel like they had a meal unless it has meat, so I prepared him to be disappointed as I was eating a falafel wrap. He took a bite and said«damn, this is good» and wanted another bite. The falafels were hot, crispy, flavorful, and not heavy or doughy like I’ve had at other places. The salad in the wrap was cool, bright with lemon and mint. The lavosh was the perfect mix of blistery crisp outside, but still pliable and chewy around the filling. So good. When we got home we dug into the rest of the food. The hummus was tasty, with notes of garlic and lemon and tahini. Great consistancy that was easy to scoop up using the super crisp carrot sticks and celery and cucumbers. There was a small cup of a red pepper based paste that was delicious stirred into the hummus for a slightly spicy kick. My husband had the 3 meat wrap and enjoyed it, although chicken definitely dominated the filling. He said it was flavorful but a little dry without adding the yogurt and tahini that was served seperately. My toddler had the lamb wrap, but loved my falafel wrap so much we swapped out. The lamb was seasoned and flavorful cut into good bite sized pieces. It wasn’t super moist, but not offensively dry either. I would have loved if they offered babaganoush or grilled eggplant. I also wish they would offer some desserts like rice pudding or any of the various honey/nut/phyllo pastries that are popular at similar joints(but basically I’m just trying to recreate my former SF joint, Truly Mediterranean here in Reno) We loved it and will definitely be back.

On a recent trip to the Bay area, I had amazing Mediterranean food and was really craving this when I went on my search for some here in Reno. Thinking about the places I’ve already tried and wanting to try something new, I took to Unilocal like I always do when I need to find some great food! Hummus Fresh caught my attention right away… Now usually anytime I hear ‘Fresh’ in the name I wonder with a bit of concern because Fresh in the name doesn’t always mean fresh on the plate… Hummus Fresh however, is just that, Freshness on a plate. Parking was a breeze; my husband and I were able to pull up right in front! As we walked in to the colorful storefront, we were greeted instantly with a smile; the nice man(whose name I didn’t get, dang) asked me what I was in the mood for. I said, «I want a little bit of everything! Chicken Shawarma, Falafel… Tzatziki sauce!» He smiled big and pointed towards the Tour platter that had everything I had just asked for, plus some, and for only $ 9.99, I couldn’t say no! I got a side of Tzatziki sauce and he recommended their hot sauce, all to go because my husband was ordering food from somewhere else. The wait wasn’t that long at all, or it didn’t seem that way to me as I admired the mural and pictures hanging. A couple on their bikes showed up allowing for a unique photo opportunity for me! I enjoyed how they rode up and were able to park their bikes against the wall because it really made this place that much more inviting to me, and reminds me of being in the bay area! My food was soon ready and I looked over to see the man holding it up above his head as if it were an offering, like Simba to the world on Lion King and I began laughing as he lowered it to the counter! I took that time to take a picture of it before he wrapped it up for me, and we were on our way. When I got home I couldn’t have been more excited to eat! I am just such a foodie and I love this kind of food, you know, the kind that has heart and soul in it. The meat was seasoned perfectly in my opinion and it was juicy! There was a ton of it too; and it was all piled over four pieces of pita bread, fresh hummus, veggie sticks, and a super fresh and simple salad of cucumber, tomato, red onion and mint? I LOVE the mint in this salad, how refreshing! I poured on my Tzatziki sauce and that ‘hot sauce’ was like spicy tomato chutney I couldn’t get enough of… the Falafel was crispy and delicious and the Dolma was great too! I took one bite and told my husband he HAD to try it… when he did, he was actually disappointed he didn’t order his food from there too! HA! Hummus Fresh actually convinced and aided my husband in enjoying Mediterranean food with me! 5 Stars for Hummus Fresh, I can’t wait to go back!

I’d give Hummus Fresh a solid 3.5. I don’t have too much to say– it’s a simple, fast, fresh and convenient place to pick up a bite. Located in what used to be Freeman’s Natural Hotdogs, Hummus Fresh has a very similar setup: counter service, open seating. Prices are quite affordable(Why go to a fast food chain when you can get this kind of food for a similar price?), and the staff is really friendly. Everything I had tasted fresh, but under-seasoned. The salad dressing just kinda has a light, oily flavor that left me underwhelmed. Love the fresh pita bread, though! The falafel is great(nice and fluffy!), but that’s about all I was impressed by. Would I go out of my way to visit Hummus Fresh again? Probably not, but if I was in the neighborhood I would definitely stop on by!

My second time eating here but my first time since starting the low carb diet. We showed up during an Art Town event but the place was virtually empty. We were 3 and I ordered the Paleo Platter– All Three Meats w/Hummus and Veggie Sticks for $ 7.99. I passed on the carrots but everything else was very good. The meat was very lightly spiced. Dan went for the Combo Plate Pita Wrap(Falafel) w/Hummus, Mediterranean Salad & Fresh Veggies for $ 7.99. Teri chose the Cous Cous + Quinoa Salad which was priced at $ 6.99. She said it was very fresh and the dressing was great. After adding drinks the total came to $ 34.50. Apparently almost everything on the menu qualifies as low carb– according to the guy working there

I had really high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t what I expected. Mediterranean food is one of my favorite types of food, so I was really excited to see a new place pop up in Reno. The sign was cute, the menu looked great, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. I got the lamb combo plate– the wrap was soaked in oil and the meat was flavorless. I also didn’t like how they chopped up the meat into such tiny pieces. The hummus was okay, but it was also too oily. The salad was covered in some type of dressing that seemed to be primarily made of oil as well. I think it would’ve been better if I got it with cauliflower or falafel. However, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. But the menu options still sound great, and with some tweaking of the recipes(and lightening up on the oil), I think there’s definitely hope for improvement.

Just average. Their hummus is great, but their shawarmas are under-seasoned. They also need to pick up on their service — one time they gave my co-worker lamb instead of beef, and she hates lamb! She actually liked this place more than I. So alas, we probably will not be back here for a while. No complaints from me though because, like I said, just average.

Best of show! Being a New Yorker where a good gyro is never more than a block away, I’ve hit most all the places in town. All decent but nothing that had the flavor I miss. That changed when I walked down to Hummus Fresh. My lamb gyro was over the to w flavor, the meat was moist(most places dry the h$ll out of it), the service fast and friendly. Put this place on your menu!

Another new spot to try out… Fantastic! We strolled in around 11:45. Only a few other people in there just yet. We walked right up and checked out the simple, yet ample menu. I chose the falafel combo plate and my friend had the chicken shawrma. The first thing you notice about the food is it is fresh. They have fresh fruits and veggies all around the open kitchen and it taste like it. Nicely done with clean flavors and ample portions. The joint is nice — not awesome, but nice. The décor is simple and is highlighted by the kitchen and all the edible décor. Makes you feel healthy anyway. There is outside seating on the sidewalk tables and plenty of indoor seating for the lunch crowd. The service was very nice, but they have a few wrinkles to iron out(as with all new places). I’ll be back as the food was delish!

Wah. Another underwhelming Mediterranean food restaurant. I had really high hopes of finding a new hummus haven, but it just wasn’t meant to be. We went for dinner around 6pm and thought it was closed. Nope, the lights are just really, really, really dim. The staff was extremely nice. Décor was, um, minimalistic. But that’s ok, because I was there for the food. The menu was limited, but I was most interested in the hummus and chicken shwarma. Food size was on the smaller end, but definitely sufficient. The chicken was parchingly dry, and the hummus lacked flavor except some overwhelming garlic overtones. My husband ordered the falafels which he enjoyed, but I found pretty lackluster. Bonus points: The person behind the counter gave my son a banana, which he really enjoyed. Fresh veggies as sides are always a nice added touch. I look better in dim lighting. They were playing the Food Channel, which I really miss watching at Hiroba. Note: No high chairs. Overall Impression: Not impressed and continuously on the quest for good hummus.

What a wonderful little place to eat! Food came out fast and it was an assault on my tastebuds in the best possible way. I have never had Mediterranean food before. So this was a good introduction. The owner was helpful and friendly. He took the time to explain things on the menu that we were unaware of. I’m definitely a fan of this place and will come back for more!
