Went here for lunch after searching Unilocal for a lunch spot near work that I hadn’t tried yet. So glad I ended up here. I got the chicken shawarma platter to go — which included a cucumber, tomatoe, onion salad, basmati w/lentil rice, a few potatoe chunks, slow roasted/flashed crisped chicken with garlic sauce, hummus, garlic sauce and pita bread. Quite a bit of food for a lunch plate — a good bang for your buck as you could eat half and save the other half for another meal. Everything tasted really good. The salad was fresh with a tangy vinagrette dressing — quite refreshing, the hummus on it’s own was ok — but paired with the garlic sauce was amazing, the chicken itself with the basmati lentil rice was delicious. Perfect mix of flavors. I loved that the salad was nice and cold and the rice and chicken was piping hot — even on my to go order. This place is located in a shopping center so nothing fancy when it comes to the ambience of the place, parking wasn’t an issue, but looking around the small restaurant with mainly small tables with 2 – 4 chairs, this place could be challenging if you decide to eat here with a group. The place was pretty busy when I went, but I still got my to go order w/out having to wait too long. The cashier — which I believe was the owner was friendly. Definitely will be adding this place to my lunch outing rotation.

I’ve recently had lunch there for three days in a row… that should say a lot about the food served. I love their beef wraps and the platters have a tone of food. Garlic sauce is to die for and the turnip pickles are interestingly delicious. I only had the beef which had great flavor. They are busy around lunch time but slow late afternoons. The owner is very friendly with all the customers and always gives my son a bag of chips for free. Reno needs more places like this.

Why oh why has it taken me so long to eat here… and would they mind if I just moved in and lived here? I know I was not born the Mediterranean BUT I am pretty sure I was Greek in another life and I am in love with their food. Honestly I never came in because I thought from the name they were just a sandwich place. I was craving Greek the other day and pulled out my Unilocal and low and behold Wrap It Up popped up. Thank you Unilocal Gods… thank you Greek Gods… this place was fab! The interior is kind of fast food like BUT the food is off the hook great! Friendly service and an even friendlier(manager/owner?) made the experience perfect. I ordered the Kefta Kabob which came with rice potatoes and hummus… so much I couldn’t eat it all… at a very reasonable price. The food was fresh, hot and so tasty… how could you not love this restaurant? The joint was packed and now I know why. They have a pretty expansive menu and you get to watch them make your food… always interesting! They all made sure to thank us when we were leaving which always makes me feel appreciated. Definitely putting this on my weekly rotation.

One of my most fervent wishes as a food-loving Reno-ite is that this town could support more Mediterranean restaurants. But please can they not be «Mediterranean Food» restaurants? What I mean is, I want a GREEK place and a LEBANESE place and a MOROCCAN place and a PERSIAN place. Living in Reno, one is encouraged to believe that all of these cuisines are the same, as though the Mediterranean is one neat little neighborhood where they eat kabobs and olives all the time and put feta on their salads. As though there is no difference between a gyro and a shawarma and a döner. For our town, one of the world’s most vibrant culinary regions must be mashed together into one easily-palatable mélange with nothing too foreign or too scary. *sigh* With that out of the way, let me say that Wrap It Up is currently our favorite Mediterranean Food in town(with the exception of one glorious weekend in August). Despite the name, you don’t have to eat wraps here, and my usual order is the Combination Platter, which gives me a generous assortment of chicken and beef shawarma, gyro, a falafel, a stuffed grape leaf, pita, hummus, tzatiki, rice, salad, pickled turnips, a baklava, and a drink. It’s a ton of food, and it’s all delicious… for $ 15. Sometimes I can eat it all, sometimes I get leftovers, but every time I am happy. Although I do love the food, I have two complaints: the first is that I wish it were less of a lunch-counter style place and was a bit more comfortable to eat in. I don’t need table service or anything, just more of a «sit and stay a while» environment. The more serious problem is with the hours. You know when we usually want to eat Greek food? Dinnertime and Sunday afternoons. You know when Wrap It Up is closed? Dinnertime. And Sundays. I do not understand why they close at 6pm. Why stay open right up until the time when people would come in for dinner? I don’t get it, but I do know that they would have a lot more of our money right now if they had more convenient hours. A common refrain in our family is: «Let’s get Greek!» … «We can’t. They’re closed» … «NOOOOOOooooooo!!!» So, even though I would like better for our town, Wrap It Up is a really good placeholder until the hopeful future when we can get some truly regional cuisines. Really tasty food at a good price, but only for lunch and mainly for takeout.

Always great food made fresh and really quick. I am always greeted when I come in as well sent off with a thank you when I leave. My go to here is the gyro wrap. though I have tried the chicken platter, and everything is very tasty. They do charge extra for Feta cheese on some items, and the plates that do come with it… well it’s a very very small portion. I will continue to come back and bring my friends whenever I can.

My bf brought home beef shawarma? And I was only supposed to have a bite to try it but ended up eating most of his lunch. It was so delicious! The veggies were fresh and tasty, beef was lean, the pita wrap soft and the garlic paste! Oh my god, the garlic paste… It was an amazing meal. This place has the best authentic Lebanese food around — and this is coming from my Armenian fiancé The only thing I’m sad about is that the restaurant closes at 6:30pm so I haven’t been able to make it back to Wrap It Up. As soon as I’m able, though, I plan on trying different items from the menu. I’ll try to post another review afterwards. *update: I haven’t tried anything else except the beef shawarma wrap because it is so delicious, I just want that all the time. I had one yesterday and now I want another one but they are closed on Sundays so I have to wait until tomorrow. So good, you guys… so good.

Great food, their shawarma has a little too much seasoning for me but their chicken kabob plate is really good. Hummus is great, cucumber salad is delicious! I can’t get enough of this place lately!

This little gem… I had no clue I was walking into my new favorite lunch stop! I absolutely love everything about this place. You feel welcomed as soon as you walk thru the door. I had the guy help me order as I had never been here. He was spot on with his advice. The wrap was amazing, coleslaw was even homemade! You simply have to try this place! Prices are responsible, friendly, clean, and good food!

Excellent Falafel! The Chicken Schwarma pita was great as well, though the sauce was spicier than I would have liked. The pita itself was delicious, crusty but soft too. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean… I don’t know if/when I’ll be back in Reno but I’d go back!

My daughter and I visited for a late lunch this afternoon, and had the Meze salad platter and ordered some extra falafel. O.M.G. Sometimes Mediterranean food can be bland, but this food was super flavorful with yummy fresh citrus notes throughout. The grape leaves were delicious, the chunk of feta that came with the platter was epic, the eggplant was flavorful, the tabouli was so yummy I got some to take home for later. Hummus was slightly chunky the way I like it and left no doubt it was freshly made, and the falafel was made fresh, full of flavor and steaming hot. Although we are not vegetarian, we hadn’t wanted a heavy meal and didn’t miss meat at all, although I look forward to trying it in the future. This place is a hidden gem, we will definitely be back! Staff was friendly and quick, everyone was very nice!

This has to be the best Greek in town. I’ve tried 5 or 6 places over the last few months, and this one makes the top of my list. Lucky me, it’s close to work. Went with a coworker for lunch. We had planned to each get a gyro wrap(lamb), but at the owner’s suggestion, split that and a shawarma wrap(chicken and beef). Both were sooooo good. The meats were super flavorful. My favorite part was the sauce on the lamb — I think it was tzatziki, but better than any I’ve had, mixed with feta. The owner checked back with us, and even gave us a sample of a new salad they’re trying. Bottom line, excellent and speedy service, fantastic food. I’ll be back again and again.

Had the shawarma combo plate, chicken and lamb. Was impressed! Came with all sorts of food I wasn’t expecting. Decent value for the price. Food came out quickly and was more than enough. Definitely going back when I get that freak Greek craving!

Time for an update. It’s been more than a year and a half since my last review, and I’ve come to the realization that this business is «hidden in plain sight.» People must think it’s a place to get a deli wrap or something because if they looked it up and saw and tasted the wonderful things coming from this kitchen, they’d quickly become regulars! I’ve probably been back to Wrap It Up about 30 – 40 times in the last 18 months! Wrap It Up lives in my permanent restaurant location, and it’s there for two very good reasons: consistently good food and consistently great service. Ali, the owner, is always at the register chatting up the customers. His passion knows no limits, and his love for his product and his guests goes even beyond that. Want something special or substituted? No problem! Just tell them when you’re ordering and they’re happy to accommodate. Ali’s willingness to make sure guests leave satisfied and happy is just incredible. My go to order is the chicken shawarma plate. The plate comes with a large portion of chicken shawarma, which is deliciously well seasoned and slow roasted on the vertical spit, then shaved off and crisped lightly on the flat top before it’s laid over a bed of seasoned rice and lentils and topped with a drizzle of tahini and hot sauce. Along side the shawarma you also get a salad made from cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes and red onion, hummus, housemade garlic sauce and potatoes, which are great dipped in the garlic sauce! I always make sure to ask for the pickled turnips too(purple sticks on the salad bar) which are addictively good and something you rarely see here in the US, AND I also try and get a piece of Ali’s incredible eggplant! Normally it’s for the veggie wrap, which tells you how good that must be! This stuff is absolutely divine. Tender, charred, and sweet from what must be roasting or slow grilling, I literally shed a tear when they are out of it. It’s something that does cost extra, but it’s worth every penny. I would love to walk into this shop one day to find a line out the door. People that have never been in must see the name and assume that it’s just like the former tenant here, but it’s not! This is one of those spots that’s hidden in plain site, and deserves the attention and support of the food loving community. Ali and co are doing something special here, so go check it out!

We came here after my daughter tried it out. She liked it so figured we should try it. I had a chicken wrap. It was good and big. My wife had the falafel. I want to go back and try the gyro. The have a verticals rotisserie for the meats. Looks good I also tried the hummus it too was very good. If your looking for something a little different and fresh it is good. Not a very big selection of items in the menu. So go give it a try and see what you think.

April 6, 2015 Monday 11:15AM lunch 1 Adult and a kid Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 4 stars Service — 5 stars Background — Doing some shopping at Target and on the way I saw the sign for Wrap It Up and suggested it to my daughter to see if she wanted to go. Atmosphere — A little dark in the place. Another build your meal like a lot of fast food places now. So you move to the register which is toward the back wall and you move toward the exit as you finish your selections. Food Drinks — We skipped this as we were taking the food to go. My Main Course — I had the beef swarma wrap. Swarma is meat preparation on vertical spit slowly spinning. They carve of your meat and they put it on the grill to give it a little more heat. I really enjoyed the meet. Just like Subway or Qdoba you go down the line and pick your fillings. They wrap it up and put it in the press to give the wrap some heat and crunch. My Wife’s Main Course — She had the falafel vegetable wrap. I had a little less than half of hers as it was too much for her. I agree with her it was a little dry and bland. Mine was anything but dry. Service — Two older men were working the counter and were very professional and worked well with each other. Future — Sure. My Daughter’s Review — She wanted to write her own review on the business. Food — I got a Chicken Caesar Salad and I could have gone without the chicken. My dad said the chicken was heavily seasoned on one side but I personally think that the chicken was chewy. Other than the chicken, which was extra, salad was amazing. It was a perfectly dressed with Caesar dressing. Service — The service was good. The food was freshly made in front of us. There were only a few people in the restaurant. Why we chose here — My family chose Wrap It Up because it was new and we like to try new things. Atmosphere — Wrap It Up reminded me a lot of Sub Way because topping station. Also the layout was a lot like Subway and Port of Subs. Stars — I would give it an overall 3 and a half stars.

A pit stop while running errands. I popped into this place because my tummy started grumbling and I knew that would end my errands if I didn’t fill it up soon. I was excited for a traditional lamb gyro. I love tzatziki sauce and this one was perfection. I was excited to get various toppings from the fresh toppings bar until I saw what they actually looked like. The toppings were all mixed about and pieces of various toppings were in other bins. My OCD sees this and is immediately turned off. I said yes to tomatoes and lettuce because those were the only two bins not sullied by other toppings. This was disappointed and looked like it could all use a good clean up. The gyro was good but not outstanding. I would stop in here again if it was convenient but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

The day the previous pita restaurant in this location closed, I must say I shed a tear… that was, until Wrap It Up came along, opening their glorious doors to save the day! As I walked in I was full of hope, hope that the wraps provided would be as delicious, if not more than the previous occupants… I was blown away by how flavorful their food is! First of all I must say, their Chicken Shawarma wraps are out of this world! The chicken is layered on a vertical spit roast and slow roasted this way, creating the most tender, juicy meat ever. The seasonings and spices they use to flavor their meats make for some of the best Shawarma around town. Watching them cut the meat off with their electric knife is quite entertaining for a boring afternoon! They add a garlic sauce and I ALWAYS ask for Tzatziki sauce too because well, who doesn’t like a delicious cucumber yogurt sauce? Then I add all my must have toppings which for me are things like black olives, banana peppers, feta cheese,(their homemade cucumber relish is amazing by the way) so I get some of that too and I also always HAVE to get the pickled turnips! Funny Story: I recently went in and couldn’t remember what they were called but just knew I wanted the pink pickled things! One of the men was surprised that I knew this item was available, even though it wasn’t on the line…(I am a regular… I know the goods!) he said, «Oh you know our items!» Then another man said, «If you can’t remember just think…[as he pulled the turnips out of the cooler below and raised them up with a smile] TURNUPFORWHAT!?» …HA! My friend and I were laughing so hard I could barely remember what else I wanted on my wrap! Of course there is always Tahini sauce! I can’t help it, all these sauces with this meat and their pickled creations make for one, out of this world, masterpiece of a wrap! Finally, while I have visited this place a few times now, I still hadn’t tried their Baklava… and I am kicking myself in the rear now for not getting some EVERY time I go! If Baklava is a dessert you enjoy, you MUST try theirs, a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of Filo filled with chopped nuts,(I assume some pistachios involved based on the color of the nuts on top) sweetened and held together with some kind of syrup or honey… It is a perfect ending to a perfect Mediterranean, Greek style meal and I don’t think I’ll visit again without getting some of it!
