Love this place, it is great for date night before dinner and movies. But I love it the most for a girls catch up. Great wine selection and awesome atmosphere. They frequently have music nights and tastings too!

I really like the ambience of this cute wine bar. In a great location, plenty of parking. The staff doesn’t go out of their way to talk to you, but is willing to help if asked. Pretty decent wine selection. They have monthly tastings of hand selected brands.

I recently went in to purchase some wines. They were out of Savigon Blanc from Malbech New Zealand. Also, they didn’t have any Cab Franc to purchase. Lots of empty spots on the shelves. They were short handed as a staff member hadn’t arrived for work.

I can only give a partial review because I only stopped in for a quick ten minute break while my laptop was getting fixed. I’m not a huge wine buyer or drinker of wine but I can enjoy a nice glass of something red or white. They have a handful of bottles for by the glass drinking at what seemed to be reasonable prices. A great way to try some different wines. The space is great. Lots of places to sit and talk over a nice glass. I came in after a Thursday wine tasting session. The service was friendly and helpfully educated about wine. Didn’t make me feel like a dolt for not knowing the real difference between a Merlot and a Cabernet. I can’t really give you an idea of the prices because I just don’t buy enough wine.

I’ve been here twice and each time I felt as though I was bothering the servers by asking simple questions about wine… after I had to track a server down Ithe last time I was there, MmHg girlfriend and I had an older gentleman who seemed a bit snooty and a younger guy who couldn’t take a joke. The atmosphere is, eh. I can’t stand when I go to a wine bar and there are little things for sale all over the place. I personally feel like trinkets kind of cheapen the atmosphere of wine bars. I enjoy a nice red in a classy, sultry atmosphere. Esthetics separate sports bars and wine bars. The two times I’ve gone, the wine selection has been great.

Great selection of wine and love the wine tastings for $ 15, but customer service is kind of «up-front and rude» the lady owner is delightful and always has a smile on her face

BADSERVICE. I noticed other Unilocalers regaled the service here which leaves me to believe that my girlfriend and I may have come at the wrong time. That being said, however, we didn’t even get wine. Upon arrival, I was pleased with the décor and ambience. It was a Saturday evening and there was a live acoustic performer, but I did notice that my girlfriend and I were nearly the only young couple present. We sat at the bar and patiently waited while an older gentleman bartender prepared a taster for another customer. Then they proceeded to talk. Then he proceeded to pour a full glass of wine, all the while, not a single nod of acknowledgment in our direction(we were only sitting a few bar stools away at an otherwise empty bar). When he did come before us, he asked if we knew what we wanted and mentioned that he was busy in needing to prepare several cheese boards. Of course, this being our first time there, we didn’t know if they had featured wines, flight tasters, whether they dealt with international vs. domestic wines, etc. So, we asked for a menu, and surprise: NOMENU. He responded with, «Usually, people know what they want when they come here,» then he went to the other side of the bar to converse with another gentleman. So… they don’t get new customers? Well, that was readily apparent. Appalled, we left immediately without even trying to order. To summarize, the service is terrible. Go to Whispering Vines, or Craft, or Napa Sonoma, or, anywhere else really. These guys at L’uva Bella don’t understand the importance of good customer service.

I love this place! I don’t get there often enough. The selection is outstanding and I love all the cute little trinkets(wine related) that they have there for sell! Drop in when you are shopping or I like to stop by in the evenings after work and with girls or have hubby meet me before we head home to the kids! Great ambiance!

I had trouble deciding whether to give this one two or three stars. I decided to go with three, because I’m going to give this place another visit, and I usually only give two stars or under if I will not go back to the place. I was looking for a Thursday wine tasting a week or so ago and bingo, L’uva to the rescue. Five wine tastings for $ 15? Sign me up. I will first say that all the wine I had was AMAZING. Whites and reds alike(I don’t enjoy white wine usually), everything was delicious, satisfying, and well introduced. With that, I’ll praise the service. The one man that did the majority of serving us was awesome. He had actually worked on the vineyards of the wine he was serving. His knowledge of and love for all things vino was incredible, not to mention he was the kind to make you feel at home. They also set out snacks for the tastings, delicious ones at that! Everything you could want, from chocolate to meats to crackers and cheese. That was a big bonus for me. I loved trying the different pairings of wine and food. Now for my only critique. The pour was about two sips, small sips. Honestly, I would have a hard time agreeing that I even got one real glass out of all five tastings put together. When they say ‘tasting’ they mean it… if you were us. At some point in the evening, a friend noted, «Is it just me or are we the only people in the place not getting a real pour?» I thought this was silly at first, but as I looked around, you really couldnt deny that all the tables tasting around us had glasses at least twice as full. Maybe they were all regulars or maybe it was just because we at least twenty years younger than the crowd, either way, I’m hoping if I pop in again I may get a better glass. Just a last note, don’t be intimidated because its a wine shop. The people are rather friendly, and the wine is very reasonably priced. We ended up getting two bottles of the wine we had tasted that night, under $ 40 for both.

This is our favorite wine bar in Reno. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. The wine selection is outstanding. We go to as may Thursday night tastings as we can. The ambiance is relaxing and classy. This is a great place to enjoy wine and the company of my husband.

I like this place! The owner is a nice lady with some great ideas about new food that will be coming and out door seating. I would have given a 4 star for this review however, I am disappointed that every time we come here for happy hour the happy hour special is different depending on the person pouring the wine. The first time it was ½ off all glass wine and plates, next it was ½ off the first glass(for each person) and each plate, then tonight it was ½ off 1 glass for the total ticket plus the plate. Is next time going to be half off just 1 glass for the ticket? Now I know that it has to be that the bartenders each interpret the special differently. I wish it was consistent. I liked the ½ off your drinks & plate during happy hour … that would keep us coming back. Now, maybe we will be back in a month or so. not as a regular.

Hello, I rarely write reviews. My/Our experience was fabulous. I met a few friends there. We were greeted by «Mark» he was very informative about the wines(I am not a Connoisseur) I enjoyed a very fine French Chardonay and a good Piont Grigio. I wanted to purchase the Chardonay they were out. That’s ok I’ll have to go back. The night I went 2÷12÷11 there was a great Jazz singer«Barbra Baxter» and key board artist«Jimmy V» they are so good. I will follow her where ever she sings. Our experience was really good and we will be back. Brenda Long

Last night I had this review completely written in my head, and I thought, «Maybe I should write this down so I don’t forget… NAH! I can’t forget this, it’s pure genius!» And then I forgot it. Thankfully, I didn’t forget the experience. It’s somewhat of a mixed bag — clearly, as you can tell if you look at the other five reviews, they’re a smattering of one and two stars with two five stars. Let me start with the great: $ 15 wine tastings on Thursdays. For FIVE, count it FIVE wines. If you know your reds and vineyards and you have a couple favorites — speak up. Let the pourer know, he’ll tell you about the wines and not just for the groups you usually see who just drink for the hell of it. Maybe the man is always generous or I impressed him with the knowledge of a couple specific wines, but I got a really nice pour on all five wines. When I’d go to Nectar in Burlingame you get about a quarter inch of wine! Side note: I am now a big fan of pinot noirs. I’m hesitant to say good things about their selection of wines for the tastings until I go back again. I did that for Jungle Vino and was completely disappointed the next few tastings I went to. However, their store is stocked with good wine — so… I think we’re good here. Okay, now for the good: The food was a platter full of homemade(??) meatballs, sliced sausage, four kinds of cheeses(one of which had essence of bacon), crackers, store-bought spanikopita, and some thick salami. The best was obviously the meatballs, then the spanikopita. The salami was cut too thick for my taste, and the cheese… well I’m used to getting three kinds, one of which being a brie, some honey, fig jam, and some almonds. Then again, this is $ 15 for wine tasting so truly, I’m not complaining. If I had paid more, then I’d be disappointed. The meh: You had to walk all the way to the back to get your pours. By the last one I had to carry the glass back with both hands, heaven forbid I give away my low tolerance. While this complaint isn’t with the establishment, I was getting sick from one customer who decided to bathe in perfume before coming in — somewhat ruined my ability to taste the wine clearly. :( Like the three bad reviews, they’re right — we weren’t greeted when we first arrived. However, the crowd is older than us(I think I was the youngest by at least 15 years), so I guess they must think that we’re not in to buy, just to look. Of course, it’s a recession and good customer service is key, so as a note I’d suggest a welcoming, but hey it’s not my store. The other half asked for a cab, and they had two — one for $ 6 and one for $ 12. He said, «the less expensive,» then when it was repeated back I heard«less expensive,» then the receipt showed we were given the more expensive cab! Overall, I had a great experience and am planning to go back, albeit enunciating a little better. Oh yeah — as we were leaving, the S.O. says, «When I left the Apple store I thought, ‘I bet there is an older gentleman hitting on Jaime right now.» He’s a psychic! And it was awesome.

Took my father-in-law in here while the ladies shopped. Although we were the only people in the store we didn’t receive a greeting.(Strike One) When I tracked down the man behind the bar to ask for some particular wine I was met with an unfriendly attitude with an air of pretension.(Strike Two) The environment is too littered with clutter and looks as if it is having an identity crisis. Is it a wine bar, wine shop, or a seller of wine themed chachkies?(Strike Three) If you’d like your wine purchasing experience to be helpful rather than adversarial/condescending there are better place to spend your money.

We were in the store this past Monday. An older man was tending to two ladies seated at the tasting counter. I had wanted to buy an Opus One as a present for my sister’s, daughter’s wedding present. We were in the store at least 20 minutes walking and wandering. Not one greeting, hello, can I help you, be right with you. Complete avoidance, not even a smile. What a negative, stupid way to treat anyone, certainly a customer. I won’t even drive by this place, let alone walk into it anymore !

As a lover of the vino and being new to Reno, we have been diligently trying out all the wine bars in town(I know… dirty job, but someone’s got to do it!) I had high hopes for L’uva Bella due to the previous reviews of 5 stars each! Alas, I’m disappointed and starting to get a bit upset. The wine selection for purchase wasn’t the issue — they have quite a variety with some standouts! The atmosphere is OK — it wasn’t as inviting as I thought it could be, it feels more like a wine shop not bar. But what really fires me up is the lack of customer service and personality. My mom and I walked in and there was one couple tasting and a gentleman pouring behind the bar. We received no ‘hello’ or greeting of any kind! Wow, you want to sell wine, right? We wandered around a bit checking out the wines and still no interaction — «do you have questions? can I help you find something? are you interested in tasting today?» After leaving and finding our spouses, we returned(a glutton for punishment!) and still no greeting! Sorry, he was busy tweeting on his cell phone! My mom did buy a bottle of wine and the gentleman stated that it was only the second bottle purchased that day! Not surprising! Here’s a tip… you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar!

Debby, Mark & Scott have done a great job providing a great assortment of wines for all budgets in a beautiful setting. They also have a variety of wine related gifts too. Not just another«liquor store», they transend the wine bar concept with an upscale look that includes a central area for wine tasting and purchases. They offer a wine tasting of over 10 wines of various values and varietals, and at a reasonable price. They offer special cheese and meat plates too They are knowledgeable and friendly. It’s always a pleasure to stop by for a glass of wine!

Signing up for their wine club sends you an email letting you know of upcoming events at the gallery. The email tells you what wineries will be showcased, dates, and times. They also do a wine walk around the Summit Sierra Mall. Usually the tasting price is about $ 15 per person. Tastings get pretty busy so I would advise getting there early. The best place to be sitting during the tasting is at the bar, instead of the tables, because it’s easier to get your next taste. The food that they serve during tastings is buffet style, and always absolutely delicious! I love the little meatballs that they make! Everyone is very friendly and knows about the wine that they are serving.
