Mackay Stadium

The stadium is an oversized high school football field. Metal bleachers… Need I say more? The concessions are underneath the bleachers. What a shame for a FBS team to play in such a dump. Yet they still can get $ 30+ per ticket? Where’s it going?
Oh yeah… The fans are rude.

This place is a dump.
The sound system is outdated.
The lay out is all wrong.
Concessions and bathrooms are missed placed.
The tickets are over priced.
Fans are rude and obnoxious.
This stadium needs a much needed face lift.
Not impressed.

A ton of fun for the whole family… seats are affordable and the atmosphere isn’t too crazy. No matter where you sit, the view is good.
We also haven’t had any negative experiences with other fans which is really nice. Hoping to go to many more events here!

The behavior of the home team students was horrible. My wife, mother-​in-​law and I attended the Oct 4 Boise game, and the obscenities shouted at the Boise fans were unbelievable. A constant stream of falling-​down-​drunk (literally!) «students» passed by our seats in Section M shouting things you would not believe. It was embarrassing and disgusting. We have attended many, many college games at many, many venues and we have never, ever seen anything close to this.
UN Reno, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I attended the WSU vs Nevada game at the stadium and here are my gripes.
First, it is a long way up to the seats at the top of the stadium while all the bathrooms and beverages are at grade.
The scoreboard has a TV but it isn’t HD. The quality is so bad it would almost be better if they didn’t have it.
I had a water bottle with me for the day because it was hot in the desert. They wouldn’t let me take an empty water bottle into the stadium so I lost a prized possession.
And last but not least, Nevada won.
On the bright side, their fans were nice and I wish them luck with the rest of their season.

Ladies and gentleman, welcome to Mackay Stadium and Chris Ault field. Home of the Wolf Pack, where the colors bleed Silver and Blue!!! Now Nevada isnt a big school, and it might not have the loyal fans of the bigger schools, but the fans that watch the games, are very passionate Wolf Pack fan.
It holds around 33,391, but its never gets that crowed, until you show up for the rivialary game against the little rebels from the south, Then you have a full stadium. Doesnt matter where you sit, pretty much you can see the game everywhere. The price is right, and for season tickets, you cant beat it. Plenty of concession stands, yes you have your typical hot dogs and nachos, but they also have famous daves bbq port of subs, and fat burger. Also we serve beer. But one beer per person. But still worth it.
Depending when the game is playing it could be either hot or cold, so always be prepared for nevada weather, which means it could change in the matter of minutes or hours. So if your in Reno and your looking for a good game to watch come up to Mackay Stadium its literally less then half a mile from the casinos.
Also there is a family section. I been going to football games at Mackay Stadium now for 15 ish years, and I have a blast every time. No matter what WIN or lose, sun, snow or rain. Ill be there to cheer my Wolf Pack on…

I’m a Notre Dame/​Ohio State football fan living in Sacramento but was in Reno and decided to check out the Reno vs Hawaii football game. You wolpack fans are great. The stadium is decent for what it is. I mean of course they won’t have a stadium like Notre Dame or Ohio State but they are a mid card type of team. Nevada destroyed Hawaii and I loved joining in on the wolfpack chants. I just had an overall great time. Oh and those hot dogs and nachos were awesome. They have fatburger and famous daves on deck. I will be back next season when it’s warmer. Nevada is like my 3^rd team now. I kinda like this little football team.

You want a workout? Come run the stadium with me during the week. Yes, it’s open. The main entrance.
Some guys tossing the football around on the field and some folks botting a soccer ball around. It was just the die-​hards, 4 of us, running bleachers in the nice confines of Mackey Stradium. A lot different than game day, but its the perfect stadium for an a$$ kicking.

This is a pretty good stadium for a small town D1 team without much of a following. I will say that I am a fan of the pack and have loved watching them hit and occasionally knock off a few of the upper level D1 guys.
The stadium itself is cold and its in a city that can get cold. So make sure you bring a seat cushion, blankets, and wear appropriate attire. Especially if its been snowing, I would suggest getting some ski clothes. The view of the field is great for sports. However I have also enjoyed seeing fireworks and other things here as well.
PRO TIP: Be ready for the weather and wind etc… depending on season.
Parking hasnt been bad here. It is on a college campus after all… I think that the bathrooms are typical and nothing special but not the worst I have seen at a stadium.
However I suggest if your team is in town to play UNR it is worth a trip. All of the seats are fairly close with good line of sight and the stadium doesnt hold a ridiculous number of people.

This stadium is smaller than most college stadiums but still a good size. Stadium seating at it’s finest. Lost of merchandise and food/​beer vendors.
Most seats have a great view of the field. It’s small enough you feel right in the action but big enough to give you the big game feel.
Bathrooms aren’t in the best shape, or the cleanest, but are they ever at stadiums?
Parking is fairly easy with lots of campus parking all around (free for football games). You can arrive before the game and tailgate w/​plenty of room to spare. Exiting after a game is time consuming, but it always is for college events.
Overall, a great place to watch the Wolf Pack football team bring home a victory!
