We purchased a small leather sofa, loveseat and chair at Macy’s and it was delivered to us on June 10th2015. We live alone and rarely sit in our living room where the new furniture was placed. On August 2nd my husband sat on the sofa and the left rear leg gaveway. On August we had company(unable to sit on the broken sofa). My adult niece sat on the chair and the right two legs, front and rear gave way. My niece actually fell to the floor when this occurred. I called the«worry no more» insurance contact and was informed this was a manufacturing defect and that we needed to deal directly with Macy’s. Macy’s informed me that one of their representatives must come and inspect the furniture and the earliest this could be scheduled was Sept 2nd. So we have spent the rest of August with no living room furniture and had to cancel invitations we had extended to other guests since there is no place to sit. To add insult to injury Macy’s sent me an email stating that if the representative cannot repair the pieces to manufacturers standards that I «may» have other steps I can take to return this cheaply made furniture– NEVER buy furniture from Macy’s– They ate selling poorly made furniture and won’t stand behind their products– I’ll come back and update my review after this is resolved in September! Why didn’t I look up their reviews on Unilocal? Because I was badly smitten by this teal-ish couch! If you know that something is selling so well and is a draw for people to come in to your store, why wouldn’t you have it on stock? Granted you’ve been selling this item for over a year, you’d think they would have fine tuned their ordering by now. I sat on the couch for a while, carefully inspected it, looked at the configuration… moved to another couch with a similar style and did the same thing. After a while, an employee asked us if we needed help and I said«sure.» I hate when this happens. I know I look Asian but please don’t send your employee who speaks the least amount of English to me. She immediately asked what configuration we were looking for and we just knew it was going to go downhill from there because the couch was reversible… so no, we didn’t have to decide if it was a left or right one. She invited us over to her desk and told us that the couch wouldn’t be available until the second week of August. AUGUST! And that our only option was to get it delivered — about an extra $ 95 or so. She looked up the similar model couch and told us that could be delivered the following week. No, thanks. If I was going to settle, I’m going to do so over something that I could take home now. One star from having«made in the USA» furniture… just too bad you can’t keep them in stock!

I will never shop here again. We went in to the Reno store to shop for a mattress and found one we liked. It arrives and its the wrong mattress. Her solution«try sleeping on it for a couple of nights & if you don’t like it we will exchange it» Seriously? Then like an idiot I went back to this store to order my couch. We wait for 1 month for delivery because she said it was not in stock. It finally arrives and IT’S WRONG! The store manager could care a less. I think they do it on purpose it must be a write off or something. We had NO furniture and we had to wait over a month and a half to get our couch. NEVERSHOPHERE!

Watch out for the delivery charges and return charges! We paid $ 50 for the delivery of two mattress & box spring sets. You have no choice in the matter, they must deliver them. During the same visit, my daughter found a chair she really liked after looking all over town. We decided to buy it for her and the sales person tells us its another $ 60 to have it delivered! We went along with it, because she liked it so much and we were tired of looking around. After the furniture was delivered, we decided we did not need one of the box springs from the two sets we purchased. We never removed the plastic or any tags. I spoke with them about returning it and they said it would be a 15% return charge and $ 75 for anything we returned. I said no thank you and they lost a customer for good.

We have bought furniture and mattresses at this location and it is always a pleasant experience. It is a stand-alone furniture store located in the«Whole Foods» mall on Virginia Street. The store itself is spacious and impeccably maintained with beautiful displays and items. I find furniture purchasing stressful(big-ticket items do that to me), but the real difference here has been the outstanding customer service from all staff, and especially Weke who has handled 3 out of 4 purchases for us. A consummate professional and astute businesswoman, Weke is an oasis of calm and information. She’s arranged a mattress exchange flawlessly and a special order, all with outstanding customer service and attention to detail. I would never buy a mattress anywhere else; Macy’s allows for a 60-day trial period and indeed, I found the mattress ordered was too firm and became uncomfortable. An exchange was made with only a 10% restocking fee. What’s that worth? Bottom line, there is nowhere else I would go for big-ticket furniture purchases in Reno. Stylish furniture, high quality merchandise, great customer service, and flexible purchase plans when using the Macy’s card.

I should have read the review first. I thought a place like Macy’s would have been top notch with customer service. It would have been nice for one of the 3 sales people standing around to ask us if we needed help or even offer something when we walked by but no nothing. We will try out luck where they will at least say hello when you walk in

DONOTBUY A MATTRESSFROMMACY’S. Period. I purchased 2 and they both arrived defective. They sent out an inspector and agree to replace one of them. The other mattress they say would have to have 1.5″ depression in order to be considered defective. Mine has a 1″ depression. It’s brand new, has a depression and a lump. They will not replace it.
