I tried Mi Ranchito for the first time this week. This place is your true hole in the wall — it is located right next to a convenience store and there was a homeless man out front. Inside, however, it was pleasantly clean! And the food was the best authentic Mexican food I have had in a long time hands down! Plus, they give you a large bowl of chips and salsa prior to your meal(which I have noticed a few other places stop doing), which was also delicious! This place is definitely worth trying out!

Small, unassuming place. Friendly staff and nice music. I ordered the horchata and carne asana tacos to go. The place was mostly empty. The food was delicious! I will definitely try this place again.

The roaming cat found himself with two other cats on the hunt for some dinner, and the mood amongst the fur was feeling Mexican food. A quick Unilocal search soon brought us here! Mi Ranchito is a decent sized place. Walking in I noted the basic décor and numerous young adults enjoying their food. Sadly, two things turned me off. One, there were many open tables but they all had used dishes all over them! Maybe the place was a bit busy but this looked super trashy! And then why was there some person asleep in one of the booths? Just laying there with their face covered? This made a really bad first impression for us cats! We decided to let these issues slide and made our orders. Lots of interesting options here, but of course I had to go for the veggie burrito which is often one of my go to things to get at a Mexican restaurant. We were given chips and salsa while we waited. Everything came out pretty quickly and I must say that my burrito was delicious! The size was large and the fillings were perfect. Definitely an all around decent burrito and a really fantastic price! I’d say that if it had not been for the first impressions upon entry, I would have given this place 4 stars, maybe 4.5, but what I saw led to me questioning cleanliness and efficiency which turned me off a bit. For the food itself, good deal, and good taste. *chirp!*

Hands down one of the best place to get good Mexican food in Reno! The food is delicious and the service is just as amazing. My favorite is their wet burritos! Definitely a must try!

If you have a microwave you can make half the food on their menu. The huevos rancheros were wack and I wasn’t at all impressed. Tacos El Rey on Sutro(not too far away) is 10 times better and the food by far is legit. The seafood is especially good, try the ceviche(shrimp marinated in lime) and you’ll be hooked. As for Mi Ranchito, do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague!

Stay away. I wanted to like it, but it just didn’t happen. Menudo and Pozole were horrible. Sorry.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars, Mexican food is my favorite. Unfortunately I have lived in Mexico and Texas(Tex-Mex is the best!) so I could only give this place 2. I know that the more north I go the less tastiness & flavor Mexican food will have but I was so hopeful about this place! Sadly it totally disappointed me. The atmosphere is fine, it’s like a ‘hole in the wall’ type of place. Servers and cashier were friendly and the prices were really good. The food though was just not good at all. I ordered a combo plate that had 1 enchilada &1 tamal covered in red sauce, and rice & beans. The tamal was okay, the meat inside wasn’t chopped that well so it had chunks of meat in it. Some of those chunks were straight up fat so I couldn’t even eat most of it. The meat in tamales(and enchiladas) is supposed to be chopped finely. The enchilada was just not good, I couldn’t eat it. The meat had the same chunkiness and was dry. So it was kind of like eating a really really soggy taco. The red sauce that was over the enchilada & tamal tasted bitter, like it was just from a can that had been left open so now it just tasted oxidized and really bad. The refried beans had way too much oil and absolutely no salt, they were really gross to eat and I really do feel bad to say that. The rice was actually alright, not mushy but just plain Spanish rice, nothing great about it but I could eat it. What was good and in my opinion really good, was the red salsa that came with the tortilla chips. It was made perfectly and it was a little bit spicy which I like. I would go back just to get that salsa alone. All in all, I didn’t care for this place, I didn’t like the way the food tasted. It was just not good.

If you want the best carna asada fries or burrito, you come to mi Ranchito. I am a creature of habit, I like to find the best of everything and just have it as my go to. Burgers– in n out When it comes to tacos, burritos and carna asada fries I go to mi ranchitos. And yes I tried Robertos, and no I still think mi Ranchito is better. Could be a learning curve at first.

This is my favorite hole in the wall mexican food place. Ive never had a bad experience here or have never had food that disappointed my tastes and expextations. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. Their horchata isnt too sweet, they have the large coke in a bottle, and really delicious food. From burritos that have guacamole included, to suculent chicken tacos, crazy deliciois nachos, and fantastic daily specials, they will fulfill all your cravings. Normally i get at least 2 chicken tacos every time i go, but today i changed it up. I went for the pozole and let me tell you, it didnt disappoint. Im still salivating thinking of the pork that was in it. It was packed full of hominy and pork, plus the addition of onion, lettuce, and radish. I wish i could have added some stored oregano but it was still good without. But seriously, i dont think ive ever had better pork. It was like the best carnitas ever. You must eat here.

It took me over two years of passing this place by to finally try it. It’s barely noticeable on the end of a strip mall, a tiny hole in the wall place. And it is SO good. I called in an order tonight and she said«is five minutes okay?» Yes of course that’s okay! I couldn’t imagine they’d have it ready that fast, but I showed up six minutes later and she greeted me with my bag. For 5.92 I walked out with a huge, heavy carnitas burrito. The sole employee I interacted with was super friendly and the service was prompt. The interior is small but clean and nicely decorated. The burrito itself is huge and WONDERFUL. I very, very rarely eat meat, for a variety of reasons. When I do occasionally give up the meatless life for a meal, I’m usually disappointed — I just don’t really«get» meat. But this burrito was incredible. It comes standard with a ton of stuff on it, including guacamole — when is that ever not extra? I got everything except sour cream on it, because sour cream is gross(sorry) and it was fantastically flavorful and very filling. I still have leftover for breakfast! tl;dr this place is amazing. I will definitely be back. Possibly tomorrow.

Mi Ranchito makes one delicious chile relleno burrito. Try it people! You won’t be sorry. Mine was flavorful, with the pepper bringing just a little heat. For $ 6 you can’t beat it. Everything we had was tasty, we will be back for sure. The restaurant is clean and the people are friendly. Great neighborhood place to go…

So good. The carne asada steak is to die for. I wish that they had soft drinks to offer instead of cans of Pepsi products. The service is pretty okay, but it doesn’t get very busy here to need constant service. We will be back.

It’s taco Tuesday for us. Go visit Martha and she will treat you right. Martha will make your food the way you like it. I have some diet requirements to adhere too and Martha is always willing to accommodate me. The food is good and fresh. Portions are not too large but will fill you up. The price is always right. The menu is full of different items food and drinks abound.

This is my favorite Mexican place in all of Reno! The Al Pastor burrito is my go-to order and I have yet to find ANYWHERE that does it better, in-or-outside Reno. Staff is always really friendly to me and they always make the food pretty quickly. If you are a fan of Mexican food, you have to give this place a try.

Excellent Mexican food close to the university campus. This is the Reno equivalent to Roberto’s and this place has some even better bargains. The tacos are cheap and delicious with plenty of options and the horchata was really good as well.

Mi Ranchito is a diamond in the rough, as they say. Not what I was expecting, and yet the food was a complete home run! My friends from school live within walking distance, and decided to buy me lunch due to my recent surgery and them being such awesome friends! I trust their palate seeing as how we are in the culinary program together, therefore when I saw the two to-go boxes full of HALFORDER nachos, my jaw dropped! Finally the sustenance I had been craving something of substance! Carne Asada, beans, cheese, guacamole, crème, pico, and pickled jalapeños! They were so good, and there was so much for only being a half order that I was in heaven! The trick is to order TWO, Half Orders instead of one full order… you get more ;) I was so enveloped in my nachos, I hadn’t noticed another of my friends had ordered theirs on fries with chorizo!!! He offered me some and HOLYCHORIZO! The chorizo gods are singing, this greasy, delicious sausage couldn’t have found a better home than on top of crinkle cut french fries! All I’m saying is don’t judge a book by its cover!

THEBEST breakfast burrito in Reno. I have been on a mission to find the best breakfast burrito in Reno, and after months of searching and eating over 30 am burritos this place has successfully taken 1st place & to make it even better It’s the cheapest(fast food mex excluded) at only $ 5.90. The most authentic family run Mexican spot I have seen in a while. This place consistently has great service, hard working staff and makes a mean michelada. Mi Ranchito keep being awesome!
