The best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Ordered a lunch combo, that included soup, 2 single appetizer bites, entrée and side for only $ 8.00. Great taste, great service.

My boyfriend and I had a lot of dinners here when we were in Reno. There’s a reason why this place is usually rated #1 Chinese restaurant in Reno every year — because it is! It’s pretty typical American Chinese food, but the quality is superb. The restaurant gives a more upscale, warm, and elegant ambiance. The tables are covered in white tablecloth and even the waitresses are dressed nicely. You don’t have to dress fancy for this place, but sometimes I feel bad for coming in casual clothes because the restaurant looks so nice! The staff are very attentive and friendly. I don’t think my water was ever empty whenever I ate here. All their food have been spot on. The dishes aren’t oily at all like it could be with other American-Chinese restaurants. I really liked their egg drop soup and hot & sour. All their entrees come out hot and delicious. My boyfriend really enjoys the General Chicken and Mushu pork. I have enjoyed their Garlic bok choy and Black bean chow fun. You can pretty much order anything and not be disappointed. They have a pretty good lunch special as well. The prices for dinner isn’t outrageous either! I highly recommend to anyone!

Tried to go to a place across the street but was closed for renovation and I’m so glad because it led us to this place! So good. great service and delicious food! Would definitely recommend. It’s our new usual Chinese place. Great place!

So the Jade Palace has been around for a long time. I remember coming here when I lived here 10 years ago. I enjoy the food, but unless you get a «dinner» option(which has to be for two or more people) the a la cart menu is pretty pricey for Chinese Food. And most of the food was just luke warm. Nothing was hot, not even the soup. I had a drink and my bill with tip/taxes was roughly $ 40. They do have great luncheon specials running form $ 8 to $ 11. Will I go back… definitely. Would I recommend it… absolutely. The food is good. I especially like the Jade Crispy Shrimp. BTW: they also run The Rim(great sushi) at the Grand Sierra.

Their generals chicken seems to be more like a colonel’s in Kentucky. They need to get it crispy and candied not mcnuggety. Just know what to order here. Place is busy and quality control seems spot on.

If you’re looking for quality, delicious flavors, and variety in Chinese cuisine I highly recommend this restaurant. This is the only Chinese Cuisine restaurant I go to in Reno. Why? Besides genuinely enjoying every visit, the food is great, the interior/ambiance(all booths) gives for a classy, upscale, and intimate, but not too stuffy dining experience, the owners really know how to maintain the whole place from their courteous staff to the kitchen team. ***My favorite visit occurred when I brought my mom here who was visiting from the Bay Area. She is super picky and like most moms can be very judgmental, and hard to please. She is well traveled and like most people who have gone to various parts of Asia, Europe, and the US she’s been there-done-that when it comes to restaurants. I wanted to take her to some place I knew she would enjoy and actually eat the food. I took her here to Palais De Jade… and she was pleased. She liked it. She ate. Done. Just another one of the many reasons why I will always be a happy, satisfied, and repeat patron for life. Thank you to everyone at Palais De Jade!!! GOHERE!

Hot and sour is both and thick and very tasty. Med and we shared 3 cups full. Out of calamari but the mushu pork was excellent. And they folded it for u. Large serving of eggplant was also hot and spicy. Ambience nice with table cloth even! We will return.

Palais De Jade used to be better than it is. That said it’s still really good Chinese food, but now it’s on par with most of the other really good Chinese food in this town. The service has stayed excellent however and that keeps me coming back. My favourite thing to order here is all of the appetizers. Yup, no entrée just a lot of appetizers. Wontons, coconut shrimp, pot stickers, egg rolls. Who needs anything more? Ok, maybe some hot and sour soup to round it out: D They make a decent martini as well!

Not the best I have ever eaten but a good dinner that left you satisfied. My hot n sour soup was cold n had to send back, it came out again with the entrée, hot but felt rushed to eat so all my food would stay warm. Like most Chinese restaurants we took home left overs. Made a good lunch the next day. The«hot» is not very hot but afraid to ask to make hotter, than it just might not be eatable. Sorry I got spoiled by the Chinese, Japanese, Thai etc food of San Francisco. Really makes it hard to come down from.

Love the décor and service. Came to the rainy day but the restaurant was full. The food came quickly but not good as I expected. Fair quality for small town like Reno.

I’m not sure if they have changed ownership, but the last two recent visits have been very disappointing. The food has been very oily and stale tasting. The last visit was a take out order in which my wife found black hair in her entrée(she is blonde). This used to be out favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. We need to shop around for another!

This place sucks people giving it a high rating must eat ants for lunch normally. Once upon a time it used to be a good place to come and eat, especially for lunch they had great lunch specials and the food was the best. Now I swear they microwave the food and give you old rice and they have reduced the portions but raised the prices, the owner always sits at the bar chatting at dinner time.

Good chinese food, good service. I will Definately come back here as everything was well flavored, a nice atmosphere inside, and service was fast and efficient. My only complaint is portion size vs. Price. The dishes are pretty small usually when you spend 40 + dollars on chinese you have leftovers, however, there were none, I am not one of those people who needs a lot to eat and expects huge sized portion sizes, however, I do like to feel that I am getting good value for my money, it’s quality food, but be ready to order many dishes if your trying to feed more then 2. In our case it was my husband, 2 year old and myself and we ordered a medium hot and sour soup, egg rolls, chow mein & chicken and vegetables, rice and there was nothing left. Will come back but hope they can find a happy medium om their portion sizes for the price.

Love this place! When we are in Reno, I HAVE to come here for the honey walnut shrimp, it is the best ever! The staff is awesome, and friendly, and the owner is usually there to greet customers, and make sure they feel special!!! You cannot go wrong by choosing Palais De Jade!!!

This was our first visit(albeit one of the closest restaurant to our home.) The service was fantastically attentive from seating to getting the bill; my water was always full, which is a testament to the staff. Food was very flavorful and in good portions. Their floor is mainly booths and naturally I like the freedom a table provides, but this is a great place and we’ll be back again!!! *** We realized after we had left that we forgot our card. When we went back to get it they asked for an ID. That’s fantastic and I really appreciate them doing that!!!

This is my favorite chinese food I’ve had ever. The pot stickers are amazing and if you like pot stickers, you must try these. They are perfect. I have had chow mein(love it!), mongolian beef, mushroom beef, sesame chicken(amazing! must try) and sweet and sour chicken. I would recommend it all. Its delicious. If you love chinese food, you must eat here. Its so good.

This was the last time I will eat at this delicious restaurant!!! I used to work around the corner and I averaged eating here 5 – 8 times a month so to say I like the food here is an understatement. I love it!!! I understand the cost of doing business goes up all the time. However, a few years ago they got smaller plates to make the servings look bigger and every time I go in here the prices have been raised AGAIN!!! When I started eating here in 1998 I could only eat about half of their lunch combination plate and had a nice snack for later. All for $ 5-$ 8. Now the serving size is noticeably smaller(I can finish it), and the prices for half the food is $ 8-$ 12. The ala cart and dinner items took even a larger jump. I must say the food quality has always been good. I will mis this place. I’m not a cheap person nor do I mind paying good money for good food but to short change people I don’t appreciate nor can I support it.

Lunchtime on Friday and my first time here. I was greeted, seated, and had a menu and glass of water in front of me before I could blink an eye. I ordered a lunch special of kung pao chicken with hot and sour soup, spring roll, crab rangoon and fried rice for $ 8.00. The soup was brought quickly and was nice and spicy. The spring roll and crab rangoon came on the plate with the chicken and rice. Both were good but not spectacular. The fried rice is very simple but it’s a generous helping. The Kung Pao Chicken was a little sweet for my liking and not enough heat. It was however, fresh and prepared well. I got excellent service including my water glass being continuously filled. While the food was not as good as I had hoped, the service was great. Definately a good lunch find. I was in and out in record time. The food was only 3 star in my opinion but the service was 5 star so I’ll give it an overall 4 stars.

If you’re looking for Chinese food and Panda Express is the place you prefer, Palais De Jade is not the Chinese food for you. Besides the slightly stuffy décor and atmosphere, the food here is fantastic, and the service is excellent. They have your typical entrees, but what the hubs and I went for was one of their more«pre-fixe» options. Basically, you get to choose an appetizer, soup, and entrée from different priced groupings. The appetizers were fresh and hot(crab rangoon and fried shrimp. When we ordered the sizzling seafood soup, we were curious what would happen – turns out they have rice that, for some reason, crackles(think rice crispies) when it is added to the broth. There was a ton of seafood in the soup and the shrimp were(pardon the pun) GIANT. By the time the entrees came out, we could have just asked for the check and been done with it, but being the good citizens we are, we felt we should stay and eat some more. We shared the sesame beef and the General’s chicken. Both entrees were huge and we had plenty the next day to have lunch.
