Phở 21 is now Silver Chopsticks, they do Chinese and Phở, will wait for Unilocal to post Silver Chopsticks as a business then talk about my 2 star review.

Favorite Vietnamese restaurant for years! I’ve always loved how fast, yummy, and healthy Vietnamese food is, and I’ve visited this restaurant tons, especially in the past few months. I’m a vegetarian and the veggie spring rolls and lemongrass tofu on vermicelli noodles is to die for. My other family members have ordered meat dishes and were equally as excited. My family has never been one to eat meat such as tendon and tripe, but I assure you that the meat we ordered wasn’t «boingy» and weird like it is in some Asian restaurants. Seriously going to miss this place when I move to the Bay Area next year. And now that I’m craving some vietnamese after writing this, I’ll see you at Phở 21!

I’d say more of a 3.5 but I had a good dining experience… I liked the inside of this place it was spacious and clean, I’m visiting Reno from central California and it was down the street from my aunts place who works in the shopping center where pho21 is:)…I ordered the small #8(rare beef phở), spring rolls and a honeydew shake(accidentally trying boba for the first time haha) the phở broth was good the meat was good as well though some pieces seemed to be more chewy than others, but no big deal to me… I was happy at the prices pretty much matched the prices back where I get phở from(however the bowl sizes didn’t)…like some reviewers said the fixings for the phở is not very much… but considering that the bowl wasnt that huge I guess it doesn’t really matter… after I added my usual half gallon of sriracha it did taste better… again as other reviews have said the spring rolls are really good… very fresh… and a little longer than«typical» spring rolls… I didn’t taste the peanut sauce because I prefer the sriracha… the honeydew shake was good but it’s not hard to make I’m sure haha… but nonetheless it was good… one thing that I saw on the menu that I might try one day if I’m back in Reno is the dessert banana spring rolls… I never seen these on a menu before(not that I’m a Vietnamese restaurant food expert) I’m not a big fan of bananas but I’d like to think I’d try it… plus I never had green tea ice cream either(or green tea for that matter).I’d also like to try the noodle dishes as maybe on my next visit along with egg rolls and potstickers which are two of my favorite things to eat haha… this was my first Reno phở place really… I’ve been to another phở place here but it was so bad I didn’t even count it as phở lol… more like a regular soup… I look forward to visiting again and trying other items on the menu:)

This is by far my favorite Phở dinning. The food is always great and the service is awesome also. So glad they are close to home.

The menu is somewhat limited compared to other Vietnamese restaurants we have patronized yet they have all the items one would expect to see on the menu. The broth used for the phở is the best I’ve found in Reno. It has a deep, complex flavor that evokes thoughts of bone and marrow cooking for many hours to extract the fullest flavor. The atmosphere is quiet, a bit stark and slightly dark. The dining room and bathrooms are very clean. Your meal(especially the phở or spring rolls) is served very quickly so it’s an excellent place for a workday lunch. They have a new name now and we have not tried it to find out if it’s just the name or the entire place.

We are regulars here and never disappointed. Good food, fast service and reasonable prices. Ingredients always fresh. This is our go to Phở spot in Reno.

There might be better phở places out there but I don’t care… this is my go to place in Reno for phở. The owners usually recognize me and know my order by heart, which means either they have amazing service or I just have a problem. It’s close to home and periodically I get this nearly isatiable craving for phở noodles with beef, and it always satisfies! I do add a lot of sriracha sauce to my bowl but it’s ohhhh so good. :-)

After eating dinner here for the 50th time in the past year(found through a friend who is even more of a die hard fan), I told my wife that this is my all time favorite restaurant… EVER! I had the #21 the first time here and liked it, but have since come to love this dish. My entire family now asks for it at least once a week. All the food is fresh and great but I keep coming back to the #21(add all sauces for extra spicy!). The rare beef is also delicious and we usually get either egg rolls or spring rolls… both great! I often see people walk in and wave at Sonny which tells me I’m not the only fan of this place. The kicker is that the price is very reasonable and we will continue to frequent this place often.

My phone died before I could check in but I tried this place tonight for the first time since my normal phở spot was to packed due to the baseball game and it had such great reviews thought I’d give it a shot. I thought everything about this place was horrible. The server didn’t seem friendly at all and seemed like he’d rather be anywhere but there. Me and my boyfriend ordered the Combination Bowl(#1), Spring rolls, and 2 iced coffees. First off, the spring rolls were skinny and there was not enough peanut sauce at all so I only ate half a roll then we ran out. Second, there was barely even enough garnished(lime, bean sprouts, basil, ect) for one bowl by itself let alone 2. We had to ask for extras. The coffee tasted horrible and the meat in our soup was too tough. On top of that, there was a HAIR in my boyfriends soup! How gross. We were both done eating after that and decided to leave. As we were paying the server did take off one soup because of the hair in the bowl but then my boyfriend noticed through the little order window that a lady was sitting on the ground peeling shrimp. Why would you peel shrimp on the ground. My boyfriend spoke up saying that was a health violation and the guy disagreed. So whoever orders shimp dishes, Im sorry to tell you but they are probably dirty. This place was gross, disgusting, nasty, and I wont ever recommend and won’t ever return. (my boyfriend uploaded the picture of the hair in his soup)

REALLYREALLYGOODPHO! Staff is so friendly and great. We order once a week and it’s nice to know we’re remembered. Rare beef phở, our usual. Beef, so thinly sliced and tender… broth is unbelievable. No two broths taste the same once you add your own«flare» to it. I prefer mine a little less on the spicy scale to really enjoy the other flavors. Veggy spring rolls are devine. i don’t know what else to say about this place, i hope it never goes away. Thanks Phở 21, you can’t get rid of me.

Had the #8, wife had the one with tripe and beef filet. Phở here is very good, the broth is excellent. Believe it or not, phở is actually easy to screw up, but this place does it right: The broth is complex, the noodles cooked just right, and the beef arrived rare and quickly cooked to well in the hot broth. Basil, bean sprouts, lime wedges accompany. Also had fresh spring rolls, which were pretty good. Peanut sauce served warm, which was a nice twist for me. Service is fine, place is huge but always deserted when we’re here. An easy«go to» for a satisfying lunch. Recommended for phở fans.

My first experience with Vietnamese food was upon arriving here in Reno. I have tried a few of them around the city but Phở 21 is easily my favorite. We have been back here many times now and it never disappoints. The food is always excellent and you get a good portion as well. It is very casual and friendly. On thing I like is that it’s a great spot to pop in, have and bit and go if your in a hurry. The prices are great as well. Two people can have a good dinner with drinks for about $ 20 bucks! I recommend the Thai iced tea or the Jasmin tea as they are both delicious. Once again price point and quality of food and portion combine for a well deserved 5 star rating.

Wow where did the 4 star rating come from. Spring rolls were crap sauce was crap. Special Phở sucks and the large bowl is what should be called a medium. Service was ok tho. I for sure won’t come back. This is by far the worse bowl of Phở I’ve eatin in a good while. I’m viet by the way. Maybe the 4 cars came from Caucasians. Gotta go to San jose ca. And get you some real Phở. Well anywhere in the bay has real Phở.

This is the first Phở place I’ve been to since I was living in D.C. a year ago. I’ll tell you what, it was no disappointment! This was also the first time I took my wife to a Phở place and, I’ve got to say, thank you for not creating an adversion to Phở for her! The beef in the Phở was great! Egg Rolls were great! I live just down the street from this place and this will be my Phở place of choice! Thank YOU Phở 21!

#37 Garlic shrimp & Vietnamese Sausage My dish was decent, not a lot of food, but with nam phrik soup it was enough. Shrimp were small so it was had to get the flavor from them and sausage was thinly sliced but flavorful. Overall, the entrée was good. I do tend to drown food like this w all the sauces but before they were covered in copious amounts of Rooster«aka Sriracha» and soy sauce, I noticed the food seemed to be well prepared, fresh veggies and the rice was cooked well for my palate(softer and a lil sticky). My wife, who typically doesn’t like Viet/Chinese/Asian food, got an appetizer sampler which had a couple pot stickers, spring rolls. She said she’d come back but try something different. Peanut sauce wasnt great. Seems like its missing something. _______________ *****Price: Reasonable. 5*s because of the value. Rice entrée w soup $ 8 bucks or so(we paid cash but another reviewer stated Phở 21 had a rule of no credit/debit less than $ 20. Might be an issue to be aware of before you sit down.) ***Flavor: 3*s bc my dish was ok. First visit so I’d like to try a few more dishes. ***Cleanliness: A few tables had not been cleaned off but overall clean. **Staff: Ok. Glasses were empty before we got a refill but it was at the very end of the night right before closing. Expect this to go up on future visits. ***Atmosphere: Nicer than expected. Modern design. Open. ****Location: Convenience is a plus but parking lot can be busy and that might deter some. Busy shops adjacent so grab the first spot. Strip mall ***Go back/Recommend: Yes. This place has potential to be a Go To place for me.

I have heard many people that said they ate here when it first opened and they were not impressed. PLEASE go back, they have come a long ways in a very short time. I have always eaten here because it was a very convenient for me, but there were places in town I liked more. Now I must say this is my favorite phở restaurant in Reno. Also … they seem to have kept their prices low over time. There are a few phở places in town that have really jacked up their prices recently. Give it another shot!

Between 3 and 4 stars. I moved to a different part of town, so my usual haunt, Golden Flower is farther away now. I didnt realize this was here until we went to the Hacienda the other night… So I went and got to-go today. The prices are cheaper than other Phở places I noticed. I had to wait forever though, about 15 minutes, one other table in there, and they were there before me, but I got my food first? A lot of the tables were dirty, or needed to be wiped down again I noticed, and there was one guy working but like I said, one table… I felt he should have had that under control. The décor is nice though. I got phở and the crispy seafood stir fried noodle(28) and the sring rolls(only $ 4). I saw the other table get spring rolls, thought they got just one, but when I got home I had two really big rolls. The peanut sauce and hot sauce had flavor to me. I wouldnt get the stir fried noodle to go again, they nicely put the noodles alone so the sauce wouldnt sit on them, but the quality of the vegetables was a little lacking. The calamari though seemed really fresh and yummy. Overall, the broth had lots of flavor, and tasted like Phở so I am a happy camper, only vietmanese(not a fusion place with more chinese dishes) which I prefer(one stop shop haha). I will be back since it is closer and still tastes good.

I like this place. I usually get the yellow noodle dish(I believe it’s spelled mi kho) that I think the owners picked up when they briefly owned Phở 777. It comes with the broth on the side and you dip the spoon into the broth and ladle it onto the noodles before you eat them. I got the mixed appetizers this time. Most were good, although I have to say the spring roll was off this time. It just tasted dry and old. The soda lemonade was nice.

As we arrived in Reno, the Boy and I realized that I had a lactose-intolerance problem. Not only did this ruin breakfast for me(and most desserts…), but when we were deciding what to eat for dinner and had to rule out pizza, we had to come up with something different. Something Asian, specifically, because unlike the US, most asians are apparently lactose intolerant, and most of their food reflects that. So we arrive at Phở 21 to make a conscious effort of me not waking up in the middle of the night holding my stomach. I order only what I know, the Phở Ga(chicken noodle!), and it’s what you’d expect — pretty good. The last place I remember having it was in a strip mall near my old house, and I think they went out of business, so I don’t really know what it’s supposed to «taste» like. The fiancé ordered the beef combination Phở and didn’t really like it — next time he ordered the Bun Tom something… it was the first Bun on the menu and looked amazing. I tried some, and I highly recommend it. The service isn’t very attentive, but after realizing that only two people work there at a time, I’ll give them an extra star for effort. This will definitely be my come-to place, because it costs less than 20 dollars to eat a huge dinner, and your stomach will thank you(especially if you’re like me — asian on the inside).
