We stopped by at midnight or so on our way back from the airport. We sat down and Lael greeted us promptly. They have a GREAT wine list for an «Old English Pub.» They had La Crema Chardonnay — which happens to be one of my favorites — and for ONLY $ 25 a bottle. In LA, that’ll be at least $ 40. It’s a charming little place with the the look of an old English pub — probably where they got the name. There was a bunch of regulars cavorting and making noise. There was music playing, people singing, laughing and merriment. You could always tell when someone’s favorite songs came on because the volume would go up for a few minutes and then go back down when the song came near its end. Lael provided exceptional service by checking up on us frequently, offering more drinks, and refilling my soda water. Toward the end of the evening, after my wine was gone, the lure of the poker machine kicked in. I walked over, put my five dollars in and started to play. Within two minutes Lael was standing in front of me offering me a cocktail. It took me a few seconds to remember that I was in Reno, and drinks were free when gambling. Lael convinced me to «go to the good stuff,» so I ordered a single malt scotch. She returned within seconds and placed a sample off the Macallan 12 year. I tasted and commented that Macallan is one of my favorites and had a bottle at home. So she went away and came back again — this time with a good size pour of The Macallan 18, the sherry barrel aged single malt. It’s awesome. I happen to have a bottle of that at home as well. I finished my scotch, my five dollars, that had gone up to eight, had slid down to nothing and it was time to say goodnight. Great place, great service, great selection. I will be back.

Looks like a dive but its an ok place. The food is ok to goodish. I had potato skins which were good but for the price they were too small/too few. At that size there should have been 6 little potato boats on the plate, or drop a buck off the price. They were about 2/3rds the size I usually get when ordering skins at other places. Apparently they only have fresh jalapenos which would be ok except they’re super mild. I’d rather have hotter pickled jalapenos than mild fresh. They do have wine on the happy hour which a lot of places around here don’t do. And the house wine is acceptable, which is all I ask of a house wine. The only other place in town I’ve been that had wine on the happy hour menu had an absolutely awful house red that they served in the smallest wine glasses I’ve ever seen and only half full at that. They only fill it up half full here too but at least its a little larger glass. C’mon, go to 2/3rds full, LOL! The one negative about the place is that their seats are terribly uncomfortable. The worst I’ve ever experienced. They’re all the tall sort of chair for one thing which is obnoxious in and of itself, but then on top of that its like sitting on cement. I took off one complete star just because of the terrible seating. This is really 3.5 stars but they won’t let me give a half star, so down to 3 it is.

The burgers are great. Bubbly and sassy bartender(forgot her name). A buddy and myself were cross country road trippin and this is a great divey little bar to relAx for an afternoon. Eat. Drink. Be merry.

Came in expecting normal quality bar food lucky day for me I found out their food is delicious! I would definitely recommend the potstickers(seems strange for a pub but it’s really good) also got some of the longest fries ever that have great seasoning.

Excellent drinks and food. The bar is way under staffed. I think we waited a good 15 minutes before being asked what we’d like. One cocktail waitress on a Friday at 3pm? Come on guys lol

I came here a few times, and during happy hour are the best time because the appetizers are about $ 3. Saved a lot of money here and had a great time.

Shenanigan’s Old English Pub bears absolutely no resemblance to an old English pub, and I mean that in a good way. You won’t find any Scotch eggs or steak and kidney pie, but they do have fish and chips. This menu is what I would call«standard modern bar and grill», with the usual appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Breakfast is served from 10am-2pm, but the rest of the menu is available all day until 2am. The corned beef sliders – served with au jus and mild horseradish spread on the side – and Chicago beef melt are pretty good. My older daughter loves their tuna melt and one of my bandmates swears by their tacos. I’ve had both good and bad experiences, so the consistency could use a little work. Whoever was cooking on my most recent visit did a really good job, and the service was great despite there being a single bartender serving a mostly-full room. Then again, it’s a small room and seating can be an issue on busy nights.

Shenanigans isn’t the biggest bar, but is a good one when you can find a seat. Their food isn’t anything fancy, but it hasn’t let me down yet. Apparently, this is one of the first bars in Reno to start carrying a big line up of craft beers and they are still doing it. You can certainly get a Guinness(or an American light beer), but they have a good line up of rotating craft beers. They’ve also got the NFL Sunday Ticket, so you can pretty much catch any game you want.

So hard to find great food late-night in Reno — can’t believe it took so long to go to this bar less than a mile from my house. Food is great and selection of beers on draught is unbelievable.

I don’t know the bartenders name but she is kicking ass at a full seating, drinks plus food. It’s always nice to see a fellow comrade that knows how to rock and roll in a busy room! Cheers to u girl!

I love love love this place! They have great happy hour drink and food specials. Their salads are yummy, my favorite is the house salad. The bar is usually filled with happy go lucky locals and regulars. The servers are always a pleasure. It’s a great location to eat and drink before a movie :)

Love this place! Two of us enjoyed dinner and drinks here the other day. Fantastic beer & whiskey selection and great pub food! This place is in a small strip mall south of downtown — but totally worth the trek. Service was quick and super friendly. There’s a good size bar and a dozen or so tables. We wanted for nothing and I wish I could have stayed longer! I’ll be back for sure!

All the appetizers I’ve had here good. The sauce with the potstickers rocks. Their nachos are the shit(tasty ingredients that are well portioned and not the standard messy pile of sloppy crap you get most places). Brea, the bartender, knows how take care of her customers. She makes one feel at home, plus she’s more than pleasant to look at. One more reason to come back.

I have been here at least a dozen times and just realized that I’ve never written a review. Shame on me. You look at the interior and exterior and think, «Man, this is going to be a crappy bar with terrible food and old hags of bartenders who are bitter and mean.» You’d be wrong. Actually maybe keep thinking that. It’s a small place that can get crowded, so I’d rather you not check it out. The service is über friendly, though sometimes a bit understaffed so it can run a bit slow. The bartenders are super sweet though, and really try to remember your preferences and needs. While not everything on the menu is completely amazing, there are certain things that are rockin’ delicious. The chicken quesadilla, roast beef sliders, french dip, club sandwich, and chili are amazing, to name a few. It’s also great to come here during happy hour, when some of the appetizers are $ 5, but their prices are reasonable even if it’s not that magical time of day. They have gambling available at the bar, and if you spend some coin check with the bartender to see if they will comp a beer for you. Make friends with the bartenders. Become a regular. You won’t regret it. I might, though.

Who can resist stopping in to a place called«Shenanigans»?(Especially when it has some pretty decent Unilocal reviews!) We were driving through from the airport to Tahoe for the first time, and decided to pop in and give this place a try. Don’t let the cardboard on the door fool you… Inside, it’s a warm, homey pub with a kind waitstaff and lots of brews! The bartender was kind enough to suggest a beer for me that I loved and was prompt in filling our orders. I had the fish and chips, which were fantastic, and easily enough for two! The batter was sweet and the tartar sauce set it off perfectly! I swapped the slaw for salad to assuage my guilt slightly, and having some greens was nice! Two lunches and two beers only came out to $ 33 + tip! Not bad at all. We’d definitely be back if we lived here… Great, divey spot!

Great comfy food at this pub that will leave you satisfied. I had the Mind Melter sandwich served with crispy fries. Bartender was friendly and always kept my pint glass full. The reason I went in the first place was to watch the Champions League final. A few other people showed up to the watch it as well. Too bad the cook in the back had the radio cranked up so high(listening to the same game) that we knew beforehand when a goal was scored before we saw it on the TV, and any soccer fan knows that is the worst kind of spoiler you can get. Will come back when I have the craving for pub food.

Had a brief leadership meeting and decided to stop here for lunch. I really wanted fish and Chips so it seemed appropriate. The service was friendly, fast, and to the the point. The food was well prepared and delicious. The batter was nice and crispy on the fish and it comes with large wedges and slaw. The best part is, everyone that walked by thanked me and my group for our service. It was a pretty good lunch.

$ 4 appetizers served hot with friendly service. We shared the chicken quesadillas, potstickers, potato skins, and the best of the day… cajun beer battered chicken fingers. These were very juicy and the batter was thin and crispy but not spicy like you might think!

Just wanted to update, still great prices and great bar food. This time I got the happy hour $ 4 appetizers, the roast beef sliders and the Cajun chicken fingers. Cajun chicken fingers are so delicious and moist, with a beer batter they have a hint of sweetness with the nice spicy kick with the tangy honey mustard. Yummy. The onion rings are some of the beat I’ve had in a while, sweet and crunchy and perfect with the creamy ranch. It’s like cheers up in here, everyone seems like they know each other haha.
