I’m going to give this place 3 stars in spite of the sub-par customer service. Lord knows I don’t like rating businesses down unless absolutely necessary. The food was good but could’ve been better if I was able to eat it when it was hot. The skate-waiter brought part of our order but forgot my dipping sauces, ketchup and my dogs hamburger patty. I reminded him when he dropped off our food but then saw him deliver to several other cars. 10 minutes later I asked if he forgot about me and he said«I might have, what do you need?» Another car delivery then I finally got my dipping sauces for my now cooling popcorn chicken. I’ll give some slack because he appeared to be a high school student doing an after school shift, but this place could benefit with some more training.

Today I decided to go get some ice cream from sonic with my friends and we did two separate orders, one with cash one with card. One of the workers accidentally charged me for the other order which being $ 10 more than mine he explained he couldn’t reverse the transaction. He told me I could speak with his manager thinking that the problem would be resolved but the manager was still insisting that I pay full price for both orders and was very rude. I ended up driving away because the customer service was so terrible. Even McDonald’s has better service than sonic.

This sonic is always a toss up on how good or bad they are. I will admit, I have had mostly good experiences but that doesn’t make me forget the handful of times the burger was bland or the fries were obviously old. This is another one of those fast food places I can’t stay away from. I love their burgers, drinks(shakes, cream slushes, I could go on and on) and it seems to me in the last maybe two years they have changed how they made their fries(thank god). I remember as a kid eating at sonic and their fries were always mushy(bleck) and now their fries are really good, a little crispy and salty! My go to food here is their cheeseburger, generally a cant go wrong for me! I’ve never encountered anyone who was rude working here(lord knows how I haven’t, I would be if I were on skates for more than an hour).

Re review. They really deserve –5 star. Went late night. Order dogs and fries. Got cold fries. Ones that been seating there. Turn around cause soda flat too. Went back got different drink and guess what. THEY microwave my fries!!! What the $&@&. I would like to hear from manager I couldn’t believe I waited for them to microwave my fries. Don’t go hear late at night. Any one that microwaves your food does not give 2 cents about service or there company.

The service here is always good and so much better than any other fast food place and they generally get it done right here. Today was one of many great Sonic excursions and we had good service where they gave us extra condiments like ranch, ketchup, and the special fry sauce… ahh…it’s the little things in life. What an awesome selection of drinks, slushies, and shakes… well, except for that weird jalapeño chocolate thing… yech! Great happy hour and late evening deals too and it helps to get App or updates on your smart phone. I bring my kid here and we eat outside and people watch while eating ice cream and stuff from the cheapo menu: Tater tots, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheeses, milkshakes, etc… This is the place to get your fast comfort food on and then hate yourself for a day or so after!

Driving by at lunch yesterday and decided to stop for a couple burgers and tater tots. The«taters» were not even close to being warm and one burger bun was soggy. Wonder when this order was prepared. The other burger was not soggy but definitely not freshly cooked. If the order was to eat there, I would have sent it back. Requested catsup and mayo packets – none! The short drive home was less than 5 minutes. Next time I’ll drive a little further to the Sparks location where the quality is better.

Great service and good food. If they mess up on your order, they make sure to fix it and make it right!

I can’t speak about the food but I can speak to Sonics excellent drink menu. They offer flavored teas and sodas, every kind of slush or limeade you could think of, 25 shake flavors, and so much more! When you are craving a good drink, this is a great place to try out because every drink is very customizable to your tastes. Take a few minutes and really look at the menu and don’t be afraid to try something new, the drinks are pretty good! Sonic offers a unique atmosphere with the drive-in style. Waiters deliver food on roller skates and the atmosphere is very fun. I’ll keep coming back for the mango unsweetened ice tea and maybe one day I’ll get around to trying their food.

Anti-smoking Nazis. I can understand not smoking within 25′ of the door(that’s state law for food serving establishments) but when I’m standing by my parked car having a smoke and some snot nose tells me no smoking on PROPERTY??? FUCK ‘EM!

I needed ice cream. Well, the wifey did. A bad day that could only be cured by ice cream was the message sent to me. Sonic was only blocks from my appointment so off I went. Drive through was easy and not too busy. The woman taking the order was polite and understood me the first time. 2 shakes. This may not sound like a large feat, but I hate when ordering requires charades or assorted volumes and cadence of my tone in order to convey the order. What should have happened was a violent reaction when I ordered a large chocolate master blaster for my wife. I rolled up to the window to discover a vat of ice cream awaiting me. Seriously!!! «How large is this?» I asked… my lower jaw dropping into my lap as the kind guy at the window handed me my bucket of master blaster. «32 ounces!» he exclaimed, seemingly delighted he had delivered to me a portion guaranteed to satisfy my wives bad day craving… and the next year of bad days to come. 32 ounces of ice cream? Not necessary. NOTATALL! If this was on the signage at the ordering stage this may have been 4 stars. My banana shake was reasonably sized and tasted like fresh bananas. I love the chunks of banana also — despite the pucker power it requires to suck them through the straw. 3 star because it was ok. More warning regarding your sizes and you could have been GREAT!

I convinced my wife to drive across town so I could have a hot fudge milkshake. I don’t know what has happened since I got one of these last but it was not nearly as good as it used to be. First off, there was entirely too much whipped cream on the top of the shake and it did not taste good. Secondly, there was very little hot fudge in my hot fudge milkshake. Third, the service was beyond slow. We waited almost 15 minutes for my milkshake and my wife’s blast. We were the only car in the entire drive thru! This visit was a complete disappointment and I won’t be making the mistake of driving across town to have another awful visit.

After living in the Midwest for a couple of years, I became dependent on Sonic’s tots. It’s bad, it’s an addiction. They’re just so good. The burgers are ok, the hot dogs are pretty good… But the tots? Oh, the tots. Little golden, salty, crunchy pieces of heaven. However. There’s always a however, isn’t there? The milkshakes SUCK. They’re basically terrible. And like a moron, I keep trying different ones, expecting a different outcome. No. Stop. They’re bad. They taste like artificial flavoring and even the whipped cream has a weird, fake taste. Just gross. DEFINITELY do not get anything cheesecake flavored. Tastes like sour milk. My son got a strawberry cheesecake milkshake and thought it tasted funny so I tasted it and physically gagged. So. Awful. The blasts are also not great. If you simply must have your sweet fix, get a slush. Those are good. And the cream slushes are good too. Oh, and cherry limeade is good too. And tots, did I mention tots?

Love the slushes(especially at happy hour when they are half price; cranberry is my favorite) and the hot dogs, the milkshakes not so much. They might be better if the topping they use on the milkshakes was not phony cream, but the real thing, Never cared for their sandwiches: overpriced and too bland. Service is usually prompt and friendly. It’s a nice place to park and enjoy a meal on a summer evening with the music coming from the loudspeakers.

As far as drive-thrus go, this is the one! The food is pretty good quality for a drive-thru and of course there is the drive-up which is pretty awesome. I love the tater tots, hot dogs and even the sandwiches. My boyfriend loves the milkshakes.

I am really not a fan of fast food at all. I have a few friends who are always raving about Sonic and how it isn’t like any other fast food place; I’ve been here twice now. The first time I wasn’t impressed, at all. I ordered a Cheesecake Milkshake and Mozerella sticks. The mozerella sticks were decent, considering I was getting them at a fast food restaurant, that serves me in my car. The milkshake was outright disgusting. It tasted nothing like cheesecake and all so artificial. The most recent time, I came here, I still wasn’t very impressed. We parked in a carport. The service was good; we were helped rather quickly and had our order in a few minutes and I can’t deny that I don’t love the fact that they wear roller skates. I would love to see a couple more fun and funky establishments take on this outdated concept. There was tons of trash on the property. It looked like a pack of litterbugs got together for lunch, here. I know the trash wasn’t put out there by the employees but it still reflects on their business. Very trashy! My favorite part of my experience here was my drink! They have some delicious beverages. I got a Route 66 Lemonberry Slush. It was only $ 2.89 for a giant drink and it had fresh fruit in it! It was tasty and the perfect treat to cool you down on a hot day! I definitely won’t be in a rush to come back here, but they have happy hour every day from 2pm-4pm and I can definitely see myself swinging by to grab a half priced drink!

We were looking for a BBQ place nearby and it turned out to be closed. No brisket, pastrami and ribs. Boo. However turning the corner we saw this. Tater tots and cherry limeade FTW!

March 23, 2012 Friday — lunch 1:30PM 2 adults Atmosphere — 4 stars Food — 3 stars Service — 2 stars Background — I frequented this location a lot when the Reno Silver Soxes played at UNR but have not been here since they left. Atmosphere — As Sonics goes it is a small one, parking only on one side for the. It is difficult to get to if you are heading west on N. McCarran. Food Appetizer — none today. Main Course — The Sonic burger was just there, but the condiments were not spread around evenly. One bite I had was filled with mustard, as if it was all placed in one spot, gross it was way too much mustard, and I love a good mustard. I made the burger a combo and swapped the standard tater tots for the sweet potato tots, they charge you extra $ 1.50 vs the standard tots. The sweet potato tots are awesome but they should not cost any more than regular tots. Dessert — skipped it. Service — Wow really lacking here. I get that they were busy for a late lunch rush. But when I press my button, the light behind it turns on, all done before the before two cars next to me pull in and their orders are taken before mine that irritates me. The speaker system is so loud next to me I thought they were talking to me since the car next me was clearly after me, but nope it was for stall 4. You can blame that on the equipment. I pressed the button again after I could not hear any one talking and surprise surprise I got a person immediately. So why would the car hops not carry ketchup on them, they carry straws? Why not just put a few packs of ketchups in the bag? Future — slim chance.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted a review for this Sonic yet! I’m definitely falling down in my duties! We very often stop at this Sonic on our way home. It often coincides with their«Happy Hour» which means a great deal on their drinks(half price!). I’ve had a bad cold this last weekend including a nasty sore throat and have talked my significant other into stopping at Sonic every day so I can get a nice cold Watermelon Slush. NOTHING feels quite as good on a sore throat as a Sonic Slush. Next time you’re under the weather, get one! You won’t be sorry! They have many other great things too. I’m rather fond of some of their new hot dogs, especially the Chicago Dog which is just plain delicious. Just yesterday, my husband saw they were offering sweet potato tater tots and he got as excited as I’ve ever seen him about it. I’m not a big sweet potato person, but he gobbled them up. I guess they were a hit! Their regular potato tater tots are also rather delicious and I can attest to that from personal experience. We stop in here ALL. THE. TIME. Mostly for drinks, sometimes for snacks, every now and then for lunch… we’ve even gotten desert here before(they used to have a $ 1 mini sundae that was the BOMB). I love Sonic and the only thing I would do different is have MORE of them in town. And, I gotta say, I love ordering from my car and not having to get out. That can equal a mess in the back seat with the kids but it’s very convenient and a lot of fun, almost kind of like camping out!
