The Human Bean

Boyfriend and I ran some errands before we got ready to go out to our festival and we both needed some coffee! I’m big on trying new coffee shops, especially when we’re out of town. Boyfriend wanted to just get Starbucks, I wanted to try The Human Bean. Guess who won? :)
It’s a cute little drive-​thru coffee shop. I ordered an iced white mocha. Boyfriend asked the gal for a recommendation and she said a granita. His sister got an iced caramel latte. Better than Starbucks and their watered down drinks, that’s for sure.
I liked the idea of the drive-​thru coffee. We don’t go to too many coffee places like that. My drink had a cute little treat on top… it was like a chocolate coffee bean. Lol, idk.

Love the coffee bean, but the drink that I had was more milk than actual coffee. Part of that was my fault for getting a more sugary latte drink, but I think I would try and order straight coffee drinks here in the future.
The employees were lovely people!

A drive up take out coffee shop that is almost half the price of Starbucks and you get a chocolate coffee bean to boot.
Finding all these great places now that I am leaving Reno.

The only coffee shop outside of Washington I’ve found that uses Jet Tea brand smoothie mix, and the girls working there are always so sweet.

I usually love their coffee. However, yesterday I ordered my white chocolate moca blended. When the employee reached for the lid to my cup her long hair hung just barely above the cup. Not sure if it actually touched my drink or not. Why do these employees not have their hair at least in a ponytail. Disgusting!!!

Seriously amazing also have dairy free options and make perfect temperature for kids hot chocolate also way cheaper and tastier than Starbucks I am now addicted amazing service and staff too

All drinks were created quickly, exactly as ordered and were delicious! The barista, although swamped due to happy hour, was kind and attentive.

This place pretty much ruined Starbucks for me. I love the coffee here, and the chocolate covered beans are my favorite.

Drive thru coffee?

This is right down the street from my pharmacy so when I head to get my prescriptions I always want to stop by and grab a warm beverage — especially on a chilly day!
This last visit the wifey wanted a Mexi Hot Chocolate and I was undecided as I approached the drive thru. I checked into my Unilocal app and up popped an offer for a Snowy Carmel Mocha!
I don’t like chocolate so the Mocha had me a bit worried. I asked for the details on the beverage when I arrived at the window. It was described as a carmel coffee drink with a touch of white chocolate. Since white chocolate doesn’t excite me but doesn’t repel me, I opted to try it. I went with a double which was the perfect caffeine for me since it was late in the day.
Wow oh wow.
I only tasted carmel and a nice creamy flavoring. I didn’t get chocolate — white or otherwise — which was great for me. If you are seeking a chocolate flavored coffee, this is not for you however.
The bonus chocolate covered coffee bean is great too. I get a quick bite of coffee while I wait to take a sip of my beverage.
When I run out, I always drop by to at least grab a bag of chocolate covered beans. Those are delightful splurges when i’m craving some caffeine and some sugar!

I stopped here on my way to work for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, I am a HUGE fan of drive-​thurs And they take the orders fast and you get your drinks even faster.
Plus, you get a chocolate bean with your drink.

I usually love this place, but there were enough problems today– the day I was planning to write this review anyway, I had to deduct a star. My husband ordered a 20 ounce drink and got a 16 ounce one, and I had used a 50% coupon for checking in on Unilocal,but after doing the math, she definitely didn’t apply it. At least we got the yummy coffee bean candies. Unfortunately I got so distracted by said candy that I didn’t notice her 2 errors until driving away. Still 4 stars because it’s usually pretty good.

Love this place they have good coffee and their baristas are always really nice, they are the same price wise as starbucks though so I usually go there, because The human beans Chi tea is really gross. But Coffee they are good

I love Human Bean. They are close to my house and I go there often. I usually order a Carmel macciato iced. It’s always delicious. The girls are always friendly and they get orders done quickly. Even when there is a line, I usually do not wait that long to get my coffee. The only reason it’s not a five star is because a 12 Oz drink and 16 Oz drink of the same drink tend to taste different. For example a 12 oz Carmel macciato has a more bitter expresso taste (which I like) where as a 16 oz tends to be more sweet.
With all their drinks they give out these delicious coffee beans covered in chocolate. They are yummy, but sometimes my bean falls on the ground when the cashier hands me my drink.

I must say, They are popular in town, They are fast and the drinks are amazing, Along with that the employees are really friendly. I love this place in my opinion I’d rather choose this over Starbucks anytime!!!

My only complaint is… I wish there were more locations! I always stop in to The Human Bean when I am in the south because I feel like they have the best coffee AND a drive-​thru!
I always get a regular coffee and the flavor is very good. Whatever beans they use they are not too light and not too dark of a brew. Hubby always get the Caramel Mocha which he says is the best in town. I get the teenager a smoothie to drink between workouts and he gobbles it down!
I love the espresso bean that comes with every drink, it is a great compliment to the drink. The line can back up but they are really good about keeping it moving. The baristas are always in a good mood and smiling! Please open a couple more locations (like one in the north :)

This is a perfect spot to get your caffeine fix quick! I love the pleasant baristas; they are always smiling and ready to prepare your order with no fuss. The beans they place on top of the drinks are so yummy and such a cute signature.
My favorite is their iced dirty chai. It’s not too sweet plus delivers that kick of espresso. Definitely worth pulling through and grabbing your coffee here!

Reno southside caffeine fix after a large lunch. Part of a weird strip mall where all the buildings are the same. Even though they have their own stand along kiosk, it’s designed in the same aesthetic. Irish breve and hazelnut mocha are both solid. Coffee bean covered in chocolate to boot. Workers are nice and fairly efficient. Worth seeking out if youre in the area

What’s not to love about this place. Easy drive thru and a chocolate espresso bean w each drink!

I’m currently going thru a «try all the chai’s in town.»
This is definitely one of my favorites so far. It is light but creamy with hint of spice. What I loved most was the service with a smile. The cheerful lady who fixed my tea was polite, chatty, and charming. The fact that my drink came with a chocolate covered coffee bean was unexpected and so appreciated. I want to buy a whole bag of these because that one was so good!
Overall, this was a fantastic place I’ve constantly driven passed but never stopped at. I’m so thrilled to discover how amazing they are. The quick service, personable barista, and sweet surprise served with my tea will keep me coming back for more!

I’ve been a fan of The Human Bean since they first came to Reno. They make delicious coffees at a great price point. With monthly specials, some daily specials, and occasional sandwich board specials, you can save even more money. Even the receipt they give you comes with a ½ off coupon for later that same day.
The baristas are wonderful and friendly. I always drive away with a smile, and I hope I leave them smiling, too. In the summer, I let them give my daughter a ‘whip stick’, which is a serving of whip cream at the end of a straw. A little sweet treat that’s fun for the kids. And I love getting a chocolate covered coffee bean with my drink. They always ask before giving it, so it’s a nice little customer service touch.
Wednesdays are my favorite day to drive thru because it’s double punch day! After 10 punches, your next drink is free (up to 20oz)!
