Tinder Box

One of my guilty pleasures is that i like to smoke a cigar once in a blue moon, I’ve never smoked cigarettes or anything else but a nice cigar is like drinking a nice glass of scotch. A good quality cigar is the equivalent to a nice aged bottle of wine or whiskey. The staff here is very knowledgable and they can recommend and tell you about the different types of cigars, they will also cut the cigar for you when you buy it if you ask them and correctly cutting a cigar makes a big difference.
They have lots of singles, and boxes of cigars, pipes, lighters, and cigar cutters, one thing i especially like about this place is that they sell double edge safety razors and bowls and refill blades, and they sell the quality stainless steel ones the merker ones which are hard to find unless you order them online.
They have a nice little area to lounge around if you choose to smoke your cigar after you buy it or you can go sit on the table outside, i just like the vibe of this place, makes me wish I could of been alive during the times of the rat pack. I mean who else looked cooler with a cigar in their mouth than Dean Martin.

Little Hole in the wall, but nice. I have not been to a lot of «strictly» Cigar shops. Cigar Bars are usually where I end up with friends, when we are in the «cigar type» of company. This one is clean and they have lots of pipe and cigar options. However, it didn’t find it as trendy or as large as I am accustomed to with Cigar Bars. Its a small narrow shop with LOTS of pipes and cigar stuff. They do Cigar Parties and Pipe Parties that I find overwhelmingly Smokey. They do have an outdoor patio that sits about 8 – 10 people and prop open the door from time to time.
No alcohol here to enjoy with your cigar, so don’t think you’ll be coming to enjoy a cognac and a cigar. no sir!!! That was a bummer for sure!
The parking here is always great. Having the shop right next to Nordstrom makes it easy to get in and out. Not to mention there is an awesome wine bar next door!!! I would go back because of the helpful staff and location convienience.

I’ll admit, I know nothing about cigars. But the beauty of a place like this is, I don’t have to. I frequently come here to shop for my husband. And while I love surprising him with a little gift, I am clueless about many of the things that he enjoys.
Despite being ignorant on all matters related to cigars, the staff at the Tinder Box have never steered me wrong, lead me to buy something I didn’t need/​want, made me feel stupid, or treated me with anything but kindness. Even when the manager (who I’m sure is a busy person) assists me, he takes all the time and care necessary to make me feel welcome and appreciated as a customer.
I have been only to one other cigar shop in town which has a 5 star rating, there aren’t many so you can take your guess, and the experience was awful. I was barely greeted when I walked in, and I was not helped while I was there. Why would I choose to go to a brick and mortar for same/​worse treatment then I would get online?
While I admit I know nothing about cigars, I do know plenty about customer service. And so does The Tinder Box. They make choices easy because there is always someone right there to ask. I am a shy person so unless someone asks me if I need help, it is difficult for me to approach someone. I appreciate their service and willingness to help. Their selection and prices are perfect for what I need. I will be a long time customer without a doubt.

A friendly and helpful staff occupy this shop. The Tinder Box doesn’t just sell tobacco products. They also carry gift items. I will be first in line to try a Cuban cigar.

Not sure of the employees name but he help set me up with pipe, cleaners, tabacco. First time trying out pipe tabacco. Employee was patient and friendly and answered all my questions. I got home and enjoyed some cherry almond tabacco.

I love this place! I have been buying stogies from them for over 5 years. The new store is nice and the staff is always friendly.

A great tobacco shop, and probably the best one in the Reno/​Sparks area. Tinder Box is a favorite hang out of mine and has been for a while! Great staff that is friendly, knowledgeable about their product, and is more than happy to help and get you to the cigar or the pipe that is just right for you. The prices and selection can’t be beat. Especially the prices, they’re really good. Some of the prices beat online selections, so it’s well worth stopping by at least for that.
Tinder Box is a great place to stop in if you’re vaping too– they have all the Ecig stuff you need and more. Come check it out! Also, they have lots of accessories for pipes and cigars, along with a great selection of lighters. It’s also one of the few places in Northern Nevada that you can get Lampe Berger stuff. There’s also safety razor and straight razor items, for those who like to shave the old school way.
Tinder Box is also a friendly, cool spot to relax and have a smoke or two. There are some chairs, a TV, and usually interesting people to chat with. There are also monthly cigar and pipe parties where you can try new things, have something to eat and drink (soft or adult beverage).

By far the best selection prices and customer service in town. This is the only place I will go anymore.

We’re lucky that we have the Tinder Box in Reno, as it has a decent selection of pipes and tobaccos, as well as a friendly and knowledgable staff. Rod, the manager, is very customer service oriented, and will not try to steer you to something you may not like. The atmosphere is very conducive to lounging about enjoying a bowl of tobacco, or a cigar.
Note to hippies and trustifarians — this is NOT A HEAD SHOP! God knows there are enough of those noxious establishments in Reno. Go there for your glass pipes, etc.

Nice inventory and selection. The reception was welcoming. Two good smokes were purchased here. I will come back next time in Reno.

Aaah yes, the TInder Box. Brings back great (and now painful) memories of Park Lane Mall.
What I like about the Tinder Box is that they don’t hire morons. All of their employees (and I mean ALL, yes even the female one) can answer any question about the cigars, tobacco, pipe, or cigarette products they have. (even the new fandangled «electronic cigarette»)
Their expansive humidor is lined with an amazing collection of cigars from Acid to Zino. Before you fall over starting at the sheer amount of cigars in an attempt to pick one out, please lean on an employee. I would suggest this approach verses the «close my eyes and point» approach to picking new cigars out.
I have never seen before (in Reno at least) a wider array of lighters, cutters, pipes, nor straight edge shaving equipment as what they have with in the TInder Box.
Their prices are about average for the selection of sticks that they have. The range is any where from about $ 2 to $ 35, obviously dependent on which you buy.
My reasoning behind only three stars is thus:
1) despite their new location, it is still a tad small. With all the products they sell there is little floor space. Leading me up to:
2) there really isn’t any place to ‘lounge” and smoke. There is a couple of chairs in which you can hang out and smoke, but it’s not really conducive to an «all day linger»
