Nordstrom Rack

Nordstrom Rack is the off priced division of the full line Nordstrom, basically it’s an outlet where old or slightly damaged or out of style clothes from the full line regular Nordstrom get sent or if there is an excess of product that did not sell it gets sent here.
You can find great deals at Nordstrom Rack but you have to look for them. The majority of this store is based towards women, and the men’s department is very small. I have found nice things in the men’s department but not always in my size. They do have suits and suit separates for a really good price considering the brand names and quality, they also have a tailor on site.
But the real deals are found in the shoes department, I’ve found plenty of shoes from casual to athletic to dress shoes here and really nice ones. Their cologne section is really small But I have found some ones I’ve liked here.
Overall I’ve gotten a few good deals from here but you just gotta look. I mean I could get an English Laundry suit for less than 400 dollars here. Maybe when my tailor (Leo) finally retires I’ll get stuff tailored here.

I’ve been to the Nordstrom Rack numerous times since it’s opening, and I find it fabulous! I’m not a native Nevadan, so until recently (the last few years or so) if you wanted nice, somewhat upscale label items, you had to go over the hill.
It may not be a full Nordstrom, but I never seem to walk out empty handed! As a business owner, I try to dress as fashionable and cute as possible, and the Rack makes that happen!
Don’t even get me started on shoes!!! High end makers at obscenely low prices! AND in a 5 or 5 ½, which NEVER happens!
The store is laid out well; designer makers are labeled on racks; women’s, men’s, children’s, and shoe sections are clearly identifiable, which is a must for us busy people.
Love it!!!

Fairly small Nordstrom Rack. I moved to this area from Seattle, where Nordie’s is a time-​honored tradition. If you had a big fat wallet, you went to the regular store. If you didn’t, you hunted down a Nordstrom Rack and hoped for a bargain. I still have a bracelet I bought at one that was originally $ 109 marked down to $ 18.
Selections for home goods here was minuscule. I wandered around a bit, but couldn’t help but feel that other than the pricing, I could’ve found similar inventory in a Marshall’s. Also, the feeling in the store was really antiseptic and cold — I get it, you’re a luxury brand — just not my thing.

After a stressful interaction and then Nordstrom’s Rack taking the time to correct the situation I am updating my review.
The Manager called me and made up for the unsatisfactory treatment! I have to say she was very kind, professional and I will be back.

Nice to have the Nordstrom brand in town, and it does make it easy to return things purchased online, BUT the merchandise actually does appear «second tier» or worse. Reminds me of TJ Maxx. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but I expected much more. Plan to visit often and spend time sorting through lots of junk to find a deal on something you actually like.

Ok… So I had a few minutes to kill waiting for some friends to meet me at we olive (wine shop next door) so I popped in for just a second to see if anything had changed from the soft opening I went to a few months ago. Boy was I surprised!!! I wandered around not thinking I would find a darn thing… And Bam, then Bam, then Bam bam! The variety and price changed… That’s for darn sure! There were a ton of things I would love to have bought for reasonable prices. Great summer tops and capris for around 18.00, shoes, dresses, purses, jewelry… All for the most part reasonable.
I’m working with a style coach these days to try and get my «professional look» together… And I’ll tell ya, I’m heading back next week with her!
Just remember… This place is a little different from other stores because there are no actual registers to speak of. No one is wandering the store fawning over you wanted to «start a room for you». This is do it yourself, find it yourself, start your own room yourself… Sort of place. When your finished and ready to go, track down the one lady with a bright green shirt, bending down to fix some random display or wandering around the store putting things away. She’s the one that can ring you up with a credit card phone thing… And ring up those precious new shoes and bag you just found.
I give them 4 stars because they have sort of a Ross or tj max feel to it. Ya know, one big room for everything… i like to be pampered and fawned over and have a room started for… I don’t shop much but when I do I like to feel spoiled. The parking is easy to get in and out of and the staff is friendly. The clothes and variety of clothes are a nice change from the average spots here in town. I plan on heading back next week to pick up some necessities for my «professional look»… And maybe I’ll sneak in a few fun ones too!

Wow. I haven’t been to a Rack for thirty years. Back then I went to the one in Seattle and was hugely impressed. Great prices on remaindered quality Nordstrom’s items. Currently The Rack seems to carry mostly special production, cheaper lines that look cheaper, not the good stuff discounted. Kind of what I learned when I worked at Macy’s in S. F years ago, its sale items were not regular items marked down but special purchases of cheaper (in all ways) stuff.
I did pick up a few things but don’t think they were great bargains.
Now, a few months later, the non-​brand name moccasins that I bought have the thread that holds the moccasin toe top to the body coming off after limited wearing. I won’t be going back.

First when I heard about this gonna be in Reno, my reaction was excitement and couldn’t wait to see. But I don’t like a crowd yes a super duper crowd so I waited for a while.
So when I came here, it wasn’t really pack anymore, yeaa the hype was gone already I guess.
Nordstrom Rack hmm honestly I was kinda dissapointed with it.
How they have the store organized is kinda messed up because I had to go around a few times to find what I was looking for.
It was like everywhere, the sizes were mix. I guess they’ve to put everything back together more often.
The handbag area was only limited item with limited brand. The shoe area was so crazy, not so much choice for me. I don’t wearing heels so I guess I’m not a fan for all the shoe that they have.
I couldn’t even find any thing good on jewelry section boo bummer.
Their selection of clothing wasn’t really not my style, nothing young or fresh. Not many choices for me, especially the sizes. Either way too small or too large. & it is not my kinda of style of clothing. So if your size is average, this isn’t the place to shop because this is where they dump all the stuff they can’t sell in their regular stores.
Will I be back? I might but this isn’t my favorite place to go. I prefer do my online shopping thing where I can find more easy with more of choices.
The price are variety depends on what brand but typically above the average yeah of course it’s from Nordstorm

Ok I have a hard time believing all of this UGLY clothing was ever in a Nordstrom. I wonder if this is all second tier merchandise made for this store. But even if there was anything to meet my taste it is all still too expensive.
I am sure there are folks who find something to buy, but not this guy.
Oh the store was clean and organized, but then again it is new so it should be.

Here is a sample of excellent customer service… Everyone is very helpful and super friendly. Returned a watch here and I don’t feel like I’m being investigated with my return. Totally different experience with the store Nordstrom Oakridge in San Jose. I would much rather spend my money here than over there. Kudos to the management and staff for treating their customer the right way.

So glad that Reno now has a Nordstrom Rack. I have been there twice and it was hectic, but was very impressed at how hard the staff was working to help customers and keep racks organized. One reviewer commented on the store being disorganized but I disagree. Any store is going to be disheveled on opening or sale days. Yet, even on opening day, staff people were everywhere, organizing, straightening and trying to make sure sizes were in the correct sections. I have shopped Nordstrom and NR in many cities and although the Reno store may not be as large as some others, it was stocked with Nordstrom quality and name brand items. I think the prices are in line with what one would expect at a Rack and I’m glad to see Reno adding more quality shopping options. Most importantly, Nordstrom has always set a very high standard for staff friendliness and helpfulness and I thought everyone I interacted with met that standard. I hope they keep the store clean, organized and hopping.

Went there yesterday to check it out. I have never been to one before. I agree with another review, saying that this place needs to be organized. I actually expected more, since this place is fairly new.
I wasn’t looking for anything special, and I didn’t find anything that I actually wanted to purchase. I had time to kill so I thought that I would check it out. Perhaps this place isn’t for me. Oh well.

Great location, great deals! The alterations dept was very personal snd helpful! The store is bright and well organized. The staff was very available, friendly and helpful. The pricing was amazing!

I wish the store had a little more organization. My inner OCD was going absolutely crazy. Nothing was where it should be and everything was where it shouldn’t. I think they need to label sections better. It’s like a clothing/​accessory/​shoe store threw up in there
I will say this however. You may find some treasure amongst the chaos. Had I had more money I would have bought the sparkly Jessica Simpson pumps for the hell of it and to add to my vast variety of shoes because they were simply amazing.
It took what seemed days to get checked out. They spent at least 5 mins on each person at the check out. VERY clever to put some of the best accessories and goodies by the register. I was so conflicted. I kept picking stuff up and putting it back as I moved. Unfortunately when it got to my turn to check out I had just picked it up again. No chance to put it back.
Once the madness does down I would come back to dig for more buried and I do literally mean buried at times treasure.

Reno has a Nordstrom Rack and it’s always good to increase the competition and options for shopping. That being said, I’m not a huge fan of Nordstrom’s because it is, frankly, really expensive for my budget. This store is in the Redfield Promenade shopping center which has had huge attrition after Circuit City and Borders shuttered their doors. I’m happy for the surrounding businesses (Cost Plus, Hallmark, etc.) because with the new tenant, traffic and purchases are definitely up in the whole shopping center.
Specs: This store beautifully merchandises big-​ticket items like designer handbags, watches, and costume jewelry. Don’t expect huge discounts. They had Rachel Zoe and House of Harlow jewelry closeuts which caught my eye but it would have to be a must-​have for me to purchase. Lingerie and stockings/​socks were well-​stocked and had nice choices.
Clothing was more «meh” — a lot of it looked like Rack direct items, house brands, and middle of the road separates. Lots of small sizes, not so many XL’s in misses. Nothing appeared really fashion-​forward or unique. The women’s plus section was not on any hint of parity with misses section in terms of selection and style. Even though I came a couple of weeks after the opening, there were women guarding the shoe section like packs of pit bulls so I moved on. Children’s and men’s clothing are smaller sub-​sections of the store.
In the end I bought some socks for my mom. Check-​out was efficient and friendly but as someone who has worked in customer service I can smell the signs of employee overwork and pressure. Not cool, especially when they are charging beaucoup bucks for the merchandise. To conclude, I’d come back on occasion to scout out the jewelry and accessories. Be prepared to spend more money than at competing discount clothing stores, even though it’s essentially an outlet for Nordstrom’s past season merchandise. There isn’t the thrill of the hunt here like at TJ Maxx, since everything is laid out and selected for you, but you will spot the South Renoite out of its natural habitat of gated communities and white flight suburbs.

Nordstrom Rack is a great store to shop at when you’re looking for a good deal on higher quality items. They carry several popular brands including Joe’s, Free People, True Religion, Paige, Hudson, BCBG, etc. at a reduced price. Although they’ve been busy opening week the wait for a fitting room or checkout was still minimal.

If you have money to spend and time to kill, this is where you should shop. It is a madhouse right now (inside and at the parking lot) so I would let the hype fizzle out. But I love the brand selections. Although it’s an outlet, the price range is not within the typical outlet prices this area is used to. They carry a lot more quality apparel brands not often seen in this area so I can imagine the sticker shock of many people. But if you don’t mind the occasional $ 100 splurge on a pair of well made shoes or jeans, then this will be your happy place.
Returns and check-​outs are easy. Just look for the wandering staff in green shirts and you’re off and running. No need to queue up unless you’re paying cash.
P. S. Did you know that Hautelook (and of course,
) is the sister company of Nordstrom? That’s where I get first dibs on stuff without having to negotiate with parking. I have found that the online shop (both Hautelook and Nordstrom Rack) have better pricing (a $ 40 difference on a pair of Birkenstocks — they’re on trend again!). The great thing about now having a store is you can order online and return them for free here.

Yay Nordstroms Rack! I will never grumble at you or forsake you, for you are the only Nordstroms within a two hour drive.
Seriously, this Rack does not disappoint. Designer shoes on point, great dresses, home goods, and so much more. The only thing that was really lacking was the men’s section, which we were told was a bit delayed and would be restocked soon. Within seconds of entering the store I was within reach of amazing Tory Burch flats and Kate Spade pumps. A girl can’t ask for much more.
Sorry Target, this may be the new place where I go to «think».

Once the chaos of the opening has subsided this will be a good shopping option.
Parking is typically plentiful but tonight it was in short supply. I wound up parking across the lot for the sneak preview event.
It was hard to get a good feel for the layout of the store as I spent most of my time avoiding running into my fellow shoppers.
The shoe section is always a perk at NR. They have running shoes, dress shoes and casual shoes. They also have a great selection of, what I call, ‘fun sock.’ Awesome patterns that masquerade as dress socks. Some of the shoes were quite overpriced. A simple pair of black Converse were $ 55. That’s above standard retail. Why would I pay more than normal at a ‘discount’ retailer?
Once the madness cools off I would check this place out again. Accessories for the home are limited but for women’s fashions the selection was quite large. Men’s fashion was limited to maybe 30 yards of racks. There is also a very small amount of luggage available for sale.
If you are a Nordstrom Rack fan this is worth a trip. If you don’t enjoy NR’s then don’t step in here.
Pro Tip — if you ask, they have small cell phone like registers so you can pay without waiting in the standard line.
