Cakes of Paradise

Came here today to get a cake, but there was a sign saying they’ve closed and will now only operate out of their Georgetown location. So sad! Will have to make the trek to Georgetown now.

I really like the tropical fruit flavors of cake they have. I tried a slice of their Rainbow Cake, which has layers of lime, strawberry, and orange cakes, and guava, passionfruit, and lime flavored fillings. Not the kind of cake you can really find anywhere else. The cake was tasty, but a little too moist for me, kind of like the texture of tiramisu. I don’t like soggy bread/​cake texture, so that’s the only thing I didn’t like about it.

I’ve been wanting to try a slice of one of these cakes for a while and what better way than my birthday! My mom bought me a rainbow, well to be honest I bugged her lol but I loved it and it does taste like fruity pebbles :) super moist and the flowers are always a cute touch!

Their guava cake, though very simple and quite light, is very delicious, and I usually don’t like fruit flavored cakes or cakes that are light. When I arrived there in the afternoon around 2PM, I grabbed the last slice of guava cake there was, so I guess it’s a common favorite.

There cakes & cheese cakes are amazing… I soooo love the mango and/​or the guava cakes… Oh! So yummy in my tummy!

I have always wanted to try these cakes, and I finally did! They have two locations: one in Seattle and another in Renton near Ikea. The one in Renton is a lot closer to me, so i went there. I went to order two cakes for a party and decided to buy some individual slices they had in the fridge. The guava is quite delicious. It’s a moist strawberry cake with a subtle strawberry taste, with whipped cream, and a tart & sweet guava (jam? jelly? paste.?). I also tried the passion fruit, which is an orange cake with a subtle orange taste, and a tart passion fruit jam, jelly, or paste? lol I really enjoy tart desserts, so this was very tasty to me. On the day of the party, my friend surprised me with another cake called chantilly. It was a moist chocolate cake with a kind of salty/​sweet macadamia nut frosting — it was so good. The lady at the front was very warm and welcoming. If you’re ever in the area, stop by and try the desserts in the fridge! They also have pies :) There is just something so satisfying about eating a slice of cake out of a plastic container, lol.

Yummy moist cakes! My 3 year old loves the rainbow cake, I really enjoy the passionfruit & chantilly and my husband likes the guava & dobash. The haupia didn’t taste anything like haupia to us and the coco puffs can’t compare to Liliha Bakery in Hawaii. Really happy to have found this amazing place that reminds us of home. :)

I loved their guava cake so much that it was my wedding cake! We had a 3 tiered done in white for presentation and 2 huge sheet cake for serving. It was awesome and still is awesome. The staff here is always so pleasant :)

Ordered a cake to be picked up at 1;15 but I ended up getting there early and they still had everything ready, the cake tastes amazing, and everyone loved it! The passion fruit part tasted more like orange but I loved that the frosting was not too sweet.

We had the coconut cream pie and a chocolate cake (forgot the exact name of it). The desert tastes so fresh, and not overly sweetened like most deserts, it’s just perfectly. The lady who helped me, Linn, was so kind and so helpful, which made the experience even better.

We search for a good cake for our son’s birthday and celebrating his first professional job after 4-​year degree graduation. We found this place on Unilocal.My daughter and I went to the place. To make sure that their cake is good, we bought two pieces. OMG, it was so good that we immediately ordered the cake. We will not order cake anywhere else!

I ordered a cake online to surprise my friend for her birthday at my gender reveal party with her favorite cake and somehow someone, the shop never received the order. I did get an email confirmation but no cake on the day of. After reading such nice reviews, I couldn’t wait to have the guava cake for the first time at my party. Sadly I was very disappointed. I understand that mistakes happen but I have heard from others that the Renton bakery screws up all the time. Had I known, I would’ve never considered this place. But I heard the Seattle bakery is way better. Get it together Renton. Thank you for ruining the surprise.

My family and I are a huge fan of Hawaiian cakes and we’ve ordered for years from this establishment.
I had to order from the Georgetown location and schedule pick-​up the following day at their Renton location. I ordered a small 6 inch guava cake last minute for my mom’s birthday and was super grateful that they were able to fill the order for pick up yesterday.
I went to the Renton location and the lady told me she didn’t have my cake. Say what? I was already having a bad day and bless this lady’s heart, she felt terrible that the cake wasn’t there.
I guess the lady I spoke with at Georgetown misplaced my order and the cake was never made. Luckily, they said the could have the cake ready for me for pick up at Renton a few hours later. Mistakes happen and I understand that. The lady at the Renton location and the man I spoke to on the phone were very apologetic about the situation.
Sucks that it happened to me, but eh whatever. We’ll still continue to order cakes from them.

The Rainbow Cake is flavorful, moist and absolutely delicious! My daughter requested it for her 13^th birthday. Ordering was easy and pickup was smooth. They wrote the birthday message and had a lovely fresh orchids on top for decoration.

The rainbow cake was moist, tastey with each layers of fruit, simply decorated. By far, this cake compared to no other Hawaiian inspired cakes in the Seattle area!

I had their Guava cake for the first time at a friend’s birthday and thought it was soo delicious. I finally found out where she got it from and have gotten a couple cakes from here since. The Guava cake is a strawberry cake with a guava filling and glaze on top. It’s pretty sweet. I love how they decorate their cakes with real orchids because I love orchids. Soo beautiful. I got a slice of their Rainbow cake to try, it’s just as good, and this one has three layers: strawberry, lime & orange cake frosted with whipped topping and guava, lime & passion fruit in between. I was told if you like chocolate, their Chantilly would be a good one to try, which I will next time!
I go to their shop in Kent (by IKEA), but they also have a shop in Seattle. Small store front, but they have cakes by the slice available, some Li-​Hing candies, candles, and I think Hawaiian drinks in the can. The gentleman there has always friendly. Service is great! You can order online as long as it’s 48 hours in advance — very convenient!

Found out about Cakes of Paradise via Saimin Says! Ate at Saimin Says a few weeks back and had a slice of Rainbow cake and I was hooked. So after having that slice wanted to find the actually bakery that made it. So recently finally found where they were and headed over. The location is rather peculiar because it’s situated between business offices. The storefront itself is rather small! As soon as you walk in there is a small tall counter and directly behind that is 3 refrigerated cases where you can pick and chose your cake of your choice. The cakes that I saw there were already individually sliced and packaged. I purchased 1 Rainbow cake and 1 Chocolate Dobash Cake. The guy there was friendly and courteous! I only wish they were open longer… take note they are only open til 2pm, Tuesday-​Thursday, closed Sunday/​Monday and Friday-​Saturday open til 5:30.

This is the spot to get Hawaiian inspired cakes. What is Hawaiian cakes, you may ask? They’ve got flavors that would be popular in Hawaii — passion fruit cake, guava cake, mango, pineapple coconut, haupia (coconut), chocolate dobash cake. They also have a rainbow cake, a three layer strawberry, lime and orange cake. The cakes have been very tasty, as I’m a sucker for these kind of sweet cakes. I was given a guava cake for my birthday and just loved it. I’ve also had the rainbow cake, chantilly, and haupia cake.
I’d recommend calling in to get a cake order in and to pick it up. The place is really close to IKEA in a nondescripts industral area. You’d really have to know where you are going to find it. At this location, they do offer cake slices too if you want to sample or take individual slices with you.

One day I had a craving for Chantilly cake and was on the hunt for some in Washington. Chantilly cake is apparently a delicacy in Hawaii, so I was afraid I wouldn’t find some here. To my surprise, I found Cakes and Paradise and they sure enough serve Chantilly.
Cakes of Paradise is in an odd location, hidden between offices. You can walk right in and purchase slices of cakes. I purchase the guava and Chantilly flavors for between $ 3-​$ 5 each.
Anyway, this review is based only on their Chantilly cake. The cake was a little dry, and the frosting was not as sweet as i’d like. I may have been spoiled with Zippy’s in Hawaii’s Chantilly, so maybe my expectations are too high. Also, it might have been a not-​so-​great batch, so I may need to go back to try it out again. The guava cake was alright as well. Nothing special.
If you need a whole cake, they are also available for order. Lots of parking available. All-​in-​all their cakes are alright. If you’re from Hawaii and are craving some tropical flavored cakes just like home, then this may be as good as it gets!

Getting ready for a girls weekend to celebrate. What kind of cake to buy? Her favorite is Chocolate Dobash, a Hawaiian classic. Once again, Unilocal to the rescue. I found Cakes of Paradise and ordered a Chocolate Dobash cake.
When I arrived in Seattle, we drove straight to the bakery for a 10am pickup. The cake was ready as promised and beautiful… even had a fresh orchid on top. If you’re looking for Hawaiian style cakes in Seattle, this is the place to go. They have fresh slices available of all their flavors. You’ve gotta order whole cakes a day ahead. The guys are friendly and accommodating, I’m sure they’d do their best to take care of last minute requests if you were having a «cake emergency». My only regret was trying the Chantilly icing and not taking home a whole slice. I haven’t had cake like that since the last time I went to Liliha Bakery in Hawaii. Ahhhh… reminded me of home~ Always good to leave wanting more, then you gotta go back.
