WHATTHEHECKHAPPENEDTOMYONCEFAVORITEMONGOLIANGRILL??? It hurts me to do this review but I am not gonna stand by and let innocent Unilocalers come here only to have a bad experience. I have been coming here for it seems like forever. Even after I moved out of state I still make it a point to come and eat here whenever I come back to visit. Each time I would say it has been consistently a 4 star experience. If this last visit was any indication of things to come, im sorry to say that I will no longer be coming here and will also not recommend these guys to any of my colleagues. Here’s my story. As usual, Chang’s is a normal part of our list of places to always eat at every time we come up to visit family. Since we had a large party of 12 we called ahead to make sure that tables were ready for us. They said our tables would be ready in an hour. We show up and yes, our tables were ready. We sit down and our server takes our drink and soup orders(you get your choice of either hot n sour or eggflower). As we all go to get our bowls of food to get cooked we assumed that the soup and drinks would be all ready on our table. Nope. This is where things start going wrong. At the time there was only one cook grilling. The place was a little bit busy especially now that our party showed up. The line for the grill was starting to get backed up towards the end of the make your own sauce section. After about 10 minutes another cook shows up and starts helping with the grilling. By this time the about 4 of the plates ahead of us were served charred. A couple of those people didn’t want it so they had to get new bowls and get in line all over again. As we headed back to our table as soon as we got our food, like I mentioned earlier, there were still no drinks or soup. I can understand our server was probably busy so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. By the time the last of our party got their food, I was already on my way back for a second round. Still no drinks or soup. When I got back to start on my second plate, she finally came out with all our orders. Grant it it took 3 trips because of the size of our party which was understandable but why it took that long just wasn’t impressing me at all. Just right before I dug into my sweet n sour soup I noticed it was a different texture along with it being a bit more runny. As soon as I tasted it I knew right away that it wasn’t what I was used to. It was bland and even a bit more oily. Needless to say I didn’t want any more after only one spoonful. As for the overall meats, veggies, and sauces, 2 out of the 3 were noticeably different as well. The meats were still the same which was good because im a carnivore. The veggies were lacking. They used to have green peppers. That was gone. They used to have raw tofu. Instead they replace it with pre-cooked tofu. After I had some on my plate didn’t want any more tofu. It smelled like it was spoiled. Like they were using unused tofu from the days before. Another negative was that they don’t refill the veggies right away so if you wanted a certain veggie that was out, it might take a while before they come out and replenish it. By that time you are waiting for your food to get done cooking. Then later on, the veggie you want might be restocked but then some others might be empty. It’s a vicious cycle. As for the sauces, I always had a set plan on what to put ant it always came out great. After my first plate, the flavors did seem a bit off. So for second plate I literally doubled what I usually put to see if it made a difference. Yes, it made a little bit of a difference but that was another clue that something was off. I think they’re sauces are all watered down now. After trying to finish my second plate I just decided that I was done and a return trip here was very bleak. In closing, a lot of changes has been made and it stood out like a sore thumb. Memo to the owners and/or management: Don’t ever cut corners on a successful product just to save money. In the end, you are risking losing some of your customers and more often than not, it does not justify saving a few bucks here and there. Since we had a large party, we were automatically charged 20 percent tip on the total bill. Not sure if our server deserved that much since service was subpar. Unilocal 2015 Review #50 «I can no longer hang at Chang’s» 550 overall

One star because I have to put at least one star to post a review. Definitely a zero star kind of place. The Mongolian grill in the renton highlands tragically closed and this was the closest one left. My boyfriend and I tried to go one time before, but for some reason they’re only opened 6 hours a day. 11 – 2 for lunch and 5 – 8 for dinner, or some odd times like those. So we drove home. Tried again a few days later. We get seated shortly and go make our bowls. After watching my food on the grill for way longer than it should have been, I grabbed it and sat down. My noodles and beef were charred. I got up, made a second bowl, told the chef not to leave it on as long. Yet again, it came out charred. Had my boyfriend make me a third bowl, he told the chef not to burn it, comes out burnt but not as charred, but surely not edible. The chef also seemed like he didn’t give a fuck about anything. After complaining to the manager, they gave us half off my meal. Yippee skippe. Paid $ 7.50 for a glass of water and about two bites of ice cream. This place is god awful and I’ll never be back. Also, you guys should figure out a better way to display your sauces, it’s a complete disaster, like the rest of the place.

DONOTGOHERE! Seating was fast, but after sitting down and looking around aimlessly for our server, we were instructed by the host that we could get our food started. I couldnt understand why the server was asking us if we wanted the rice or soups that come with the meal, since its included in the price. The chef looked like he was trying to flip omlettes or something, and clearly didnt want to be there. And rightly so, my girlfriends food came out like a pancake. Completely charred(black) on one side and stuck together. He looked at it and just kept going on his way. We tried twice more each, attempting to pick out the noodles that weren’t turned to dust. Nothing changed, and the pile of discarded burnt mess at our table just got bigger. We were only offered half off of my girlfriend’s food, which she hardly touched. She was really looking forward to coming, and this experience ruined our night. Coming from a server at PF Changs, im warning all of you. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE.

I like a business that is willing to think outside the box for the benefit of their customers. My 77 year old mother is extremely sick and one of the few things sounding good is soup. I telephoned the restaurant to order soup to go and was advised this is not an option. I explained the circumstances to the employee on the phone and asked if there was a way to make an exception if we were to bring our own container in. She indicated she would check with the manager. End result: no. Policy is policy and they wouldn’t make an exception to the rule. Maybe I should’ve brought my sick mom into the restaurant while she’s contagious instead of writing a poor review and assuring I will not ever give my business to Changs again.

Tried to come here for my birthday… Even though there were open tables, the hostess told us we’d have to wait 20 minutes because they were understaffed. Hopefully, if we return, they will be more accommodating.

Even though the management and staff had changed a lot more frequently then it should, this place remains my favorite restaurant. I’m a big fan of Mongolian all you can eat style places and I just love it here. Every time I come, no complaints. Even though service can be slow at times it’s nothing to stop me from coming back! Love the food!

I went there to a half empty restaurant for dinner. Me and my spouse were seated fast enough. We waited ignored about 10 minutes as the server(and I think manager) kept walking by us scurrying around to other tables, but never stopping at ours. He finally stopped at our table and we order our soup, rice and a pitcher of beer. We then went up to line to get our food. This process took about 15 minutes. When we returned to our seats there was no rice, no soup, no beer(not even glasses of water). It became very apparent that we were not going to be attended to so we left our plates of food uneaten and notified the hostess that we were leaving and walked out. It has been very hit or miss in regards to service here. Unfortunately, it has been far more misses than hits; and I cannot say when or if I will be back. On the upside, we went to Jimmy Mac’s and had wonderful service and a lovely time(and I did not have to wait 25 minutes to get drinks there).

I went to Chang’s with my partner on Friday night, against my better judgment. The last few times we’ve been there, the food came off the grill a little burnt and the place just wasn’t as clean as it used to be. But I went. We arrived and were seated quickly. Then we waited for the waiter. And waited. And waited. In geologic time, it was fast, but in hungry human time, it took long. It was 7 minutes by the time we ordered beverages and soup. We then went to the line to get our grub cooked. There were about 8 people in front of us, so getting our meal slightly charred took about 12 minutes. When we got back to the table, still no drinks, soup, or rice. We left.

The cook, Jason, made our lunch visit more fun! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Not only is the food fresh, I love choosing exactly what I want — and how much of it — in my meal. Would be a fun place to come with a large group. Chang’s never disappoints!

Though I like Mongolian food in general because I can get only the food I like I hate this places pricing scheme. Dinner for an adult is $ 14.95 for all you can eat. Period. And if I want a small Togo box it’s an extra $ 1.50. I only go up once. I don’t want an «all you can eat» style. Id pay $ 15 for one trip up if I got a Togo box but they charge extra. The boxes are less then .50 a piece and you charge $ 1.50 for the food that I paid for already but got a bit too much of. I’d rather go to the Mongolian place in the Udistrict that you pay $ 20 and if you can fit the extra in a Togo box you can take it with you. That’s a good deal. It’s a big Togo box. This place is over prices but at least staff is polite

I have been coming to Changs for the past 15 years. It’s sad to see it going down hill. Poor service. And the food and sauce was basically gone 45 minutes before closing. No beef, no garlic sauce and no soy sauce. In the past I would have given this place 5 stars.

For a all you can eat buffet, it’s only 10.99. They have a pretty big selection that you can choose from and a lot of different types of sauces. The customer service is outstanding, all the workers were extremely nice and attentive. They come around to give you drinks, free ice cream, rice and flour wraps. Compared to other mongolian grills, I’d say this one isn’t as flavorful because the chef didn’t pour in all the sauce from my bowl and the meat was slightly dry, but for 10 dollars this is a pretty tight deal.

Every now and then you feel like making a glutinous pile of noodles to eat, that’s when Chang’s Mongolian grill comes to mind. The food ain’t great but you kinda have a hand in making it so that’s on you. I like the novelty of it and the ability to go back for more!

I have never had Mongolian grill before and this was amazing! All you can eat and a beverage for under $ 15? Yes please! The staff was super attentive and fast, and nice! And they give you ice cream and a fortune cookie! The food is delicious here and you build your own which means you can put as much or as little as you want and then watch them grill it.

Burnt! :(The chef apologized for burning my food and suggested I stand in the long line and remake my dish. Unfortunately I was at a work function with limited time. Totally bummed to pay $ 11 for a burnt lunch. I appreciate that they were backed up but felt asking me to spend another 20 mins in line was unacceptable.

Had better. True they have tons of selection but it just wasn’t there for me. The shrimp was a tad small and the noodle provided wasn’t the best. Even with tons of sauce it came out a bit dry in the end. It is a good place for a quick meal with friends.

This is the best Mongolian grill. All others pre weigh a tiny amount of protein. As this place ISAUTHENTIC! The way Mongolian is ment to eat. P. S. For $ 3 extra you can take your leftovers with you.

What can I say, I’m addicted! Every time I make my round back home to Washington I absolutely must stop by for a quick lunch or dinner… Just the thought of a hot, spicy, melt in your mouth meal… yep my mouth is watering… Here are just some of the endless pros– — Amazing service — The cooks actually cook it the way you desire, well done, medium, with water, oil, sauces, basically the food is tailored to meet the needs of each individuals liking — The vegetables and meat are consistent and fresh — The meat is thinly sliced like a Shabu Shabu joint which totally compliments Mongolian cuisine versus other Mongolians places that have thick clumpy fatty chunks –Lastly, the most important component is the sauce! There is an open bar of sauces and you are allowed to compile your dish and it’s condiments as you choose. Yes, this means loads of vinegar, chili oil, or even sherry, and unlike other places they don’t pressure you to make it their way. I love choices! Con() — Sometimes the employees at the register have a bad attitude for no reason. They should fix that. Here’s to a meal filled with pungent vibrant and absolutely delectable flavors!

This is one of the last REAL all-you-care-to-eat Mongolian BBQ joints. The meat and veggie selection is good, but come with an appetite to get your $ 15 worth! They started using the«pirq» app for discounts, but we weren’t able to use it when we went. We’ll go back, but for more of a special dinner.
