Crap host who didn’t even tell us where to sit, rather just walked away expecting our party to follow them. The waitress we got was pretty casual and not very professional, but that didn’t really bother me. However, they were completely out of the food that two of our party of three wanted, and the food we did get was absolutely awful. Wayyyyyyy too salty roast beef and gravy and mashed potatoes that tasted like melted plastic. Just awful. I would spend my money elsewhere, there will be better food and better service.

Lipstick coffee cup… I should have got up and ran, next, the blandest food. A haiku.

I came in to get breakfast for my step daughter and niece. We ordered to-go. The kids menu selection for breakfast was not that great. Pancakes with one piece of bacon doesn’t really count as a full meal. So I ordered them each that and had them split a signature breakfast. They offered me free coffee while I waited. Nice gesture. Servers were confused about who was working the to go orders. So there was an awkward moment when they worked that out. They need to expand the kids menu. They need to clean the bathroom. No waste basket liners, dirty feminine products in trash cans. Made me feel sick looking at it.

Typical shari’s fair. Food is ok to good. I enjoyed my salmon caesar salad and my son liked the steakhouse gourmet mac and cheese. My wife wasn’t a big fan of her sandwich. I have to take off rating points for the service. Pretty lousy overall and our male server was rude. I will probably only return if a family member wants to go there.

You go here if you’re hungry and you can’t stand being in traffic for an hour like I was. The food here taste like frozen dinners and barely passes for consumption. The waitresses and waiters are nice enough and they mean to give customer service. It’s just that the food lacks any taste that warrants a repeat visit. Take their leatloaf. It’s dry, tough, and lacks the texture that makes a meatloaf a meatloaf. Having said that, where else can you get a full meal for under 12 bucks.

Good food. Dirty restaurant. Horrible service. Just know those three things going into this place and you’re good to go. Let’s start with cleanliness. There were wrappers and food pieces all over the floor and tables. The table was also sticky. Next, service. First off, it wasn’t busy. Maybe 5 tables in the entire place. Our server took forever to greet us, forever to bring us waters and our other beverages, and an eternity to take our order. Good thing our food came out okay, because she never stopped by to check on us. Not once. But she did make sure her friend at the table behind us was well taken care of. As did the manager — who also walked by our table constantly while we had empty glasses and never even bothered to ask to refill them. Also, I feel like management should not be yelling across the restaurant at servers and trash talking employees when guests can hear. But that is just my opinion. Funny thing is we were seated right next to the beverage station, and the employees could group up and chat there every few minutes, but not check on their guests. An employee that was leaving for the day had to yell at them to greet a guest who had been waiting up front. Finally, food. We both ordered the Breakfast Samplers and they both came out great. The eggs were fresh and hot, and had a lot of toppings on them. Large portions of hashbrowns that were perfectly cooked. I opted for two pieces of sausage instead of bacon, and they were great — very juicy. Delicious pancakes, as always. Overall the food was really good — I rather enjoy breakfast food from here. Left completely stuffed, which is always a good feeling. Only gave 3 stars for the food quality — otherwise one star due to bad service.

TERRIBLESERVICE! The hostess greeted us immediately, however, after we sat down a waiter did not greet us. Instead, there were a group of employees standing off to the corner gabbing. One of them turns around and comes over to our table and doesn’t say hello or introduce himself! INSTEAD, he asks us if we know what we want to order. Ummm, can we get some water first like most restaurants offer?!! THEN! Our food came out cold, cheese not melted and my boyfriend’s steak head a bug crawling around on the steak! A decent diner. Nothing particularly special about it but the food is pretty tasty and they are open 24 hours a day. There aren’t a ton of late night options in the Renton are which makes Shari’s particularly appealing. If your in the mood for a burger the Siracha burger is one of my favs.

Nice people every-time I come in. One of my Mother and I favorite lunch spots. Fast service and good food! Definitely recommend coming in and trying out the Prime Dip sandwich!

With not much to choose from late on a Saturday night in Renton, we decided to try Shari’s after our original plans for the evening fell through. How fortuitous! Every part of our experience will keep us coming back for more. From the the diverse menu, that is so well executed, to the warm and friendly staff. I had the cinnamon French toast, which we both enjoyed. My husband tried the chicken and waffles. The chicken was tender and the skin was crispy and delicious. Even paying the tab at the end of the meal was pleasant because nothing was over priced, GOODFOODVALUE. Look forward to bringing the whole family next trip!

Went to Sharis at 10:30 pm and there were very few customers dining. It was my husband, my 3 sons and I and we requested a window seat so we could keep an eye on our luggage. There were MANY vacant seating by the window and we were told that it will be a 15 minute wait. Yeah, couldn’t understand why it was such a long wait and why couldn’t we be seated. Worst Sharis I’ve been to. Never again.

I would rate the food if the wait staff would even come to the damn table. They sat us down, gave us menus, and haven’t been back. The restaurant isn’t packed or busy. I just want pie. Ugh.

I came here one day with my dad and sister for breakfast. As usual, the front entrance was flooded by elders. But its cool, what do you expect. We got seated and ordered our food. We ordered some regular breakfast foods-nothing fancy. We waited and waited. Began to see others served whom were seated after us. We waited for like an hour before we DITCHED. The poor waiter apologized as we waltzed out. We saw the waiter flail a piece of paper at the cooks. I’m pretty sure that was our uncooked order.

I’ve visited Shari’s last weekend. MISTAKE. Most servers are really nice, but you can tell they’re overworked. It’s the management that truly sucks, particularly Peggy the manager. She was working while I ordered breakfast and I literally saw her standing by the phone as it rang continuously until she picked it up and hung up after a server was too busy to answer it. Not to mention she shouts orders at servers from across the room. Other quick highlights: PLASTICUTENSILS, PLASTICCUPS, DIRTYRESTAURANT, WEIRDSMELL, FOODTAKESFOREVER. I truly feel for the waiters and waitresses at the Maple Valley Shari’s as they have a horrible tyrant for a manager and are very clearly understaffed. If you ever visit, tip them well, I’ve never seen staff so stressed out at an establishment.

We ate there on August 2, 2015. It’s a Shari’s with everything you’d expect, except that they were substantially short-staffed and it really, really showed, but that was just the beginning. 1. Short staffed, and obviously, as you could overhear staff complaining about it. No fault to them — they were almost all busting their hump and trying their hardest, but people hit a breaking point. When wait staff in an air conditioned space are actually sweating, they’re short staffed, overworked and mismanaged. 2. This made the place look honestly filthy. The floors hadn’t been cleaned all day. How could they have time? They’re running around with their heads cut off trying to keep up. 3. It took at least 15 minutes to be seated despite no one in front of us, and them collecting a waiting list. At least two names before us were scratched off it seemed, unseated, so I assume they left. They called one name who never came before us. 4. They had a trainee seat us and then it was server musical chairs until one kind and awesome lady — despite looking exhausted from a long day — tried hard to cover half the restaurant. 5. When our kid’s chicken strips and fries arrived, some of the fries had… well, was it strawberry jam? Blood? We have no idea, but it was smeared on there. I’m kicking myself for not taking a picture, but we sent it back immediately by flagging down a server(our awesome one was bogged down by all the other tables). The lady who came over, when we showed her the dish and asked for a replacement, was literally DISMISSIVE of us. She just left the damn thing there on our table, said, «OK,» in a very resigned tone, and went to deal with people waiting to pay and ring them out instead at the front desk. We were both like, «Did that just happen?» and grabbed another server who replaced the meal. He looked very annoyed at what she had done. When I’ve eaten at Shari’s in the past it’s always been the one on Aurora or the Shoreline one. The Aurora is OK; average, and the Shoreline experience is great usually. This place… never again. Stuff happens; people call in sick. Management screws up and accidentally or deliberately understaffs. But seriously, if you have possibly contaminated food? We were both so exhausted after a long day — and the rest of the food SEEMED alright — that it was the only reason we didn’t just get up and walk out. Glancing at other reviews, I see that this place is apparently often getting dinged for slow service, poor handling of customers, and general dirtiness. Terrible. Avoid.

I’m a regular here and I only really go into Sharis at night after 7pm typically, and sometimes it’s a lot busier than you’d expect, typically on Wednesday’s and Friday’s because Shari’s run a special on those two nights(Wednesday is free pie night and Friday is a prime rib steak thing). It’s really close to our house and the waitresses are usually really friendly. For the kind of restaurant it is, the food isn’t bad and the pie is world-class. The pie shakes are even more awesome. However, as a regular, there’s a few things I can complain about. Some of the wait staff in the morning shifts aren’t as friendly as their late-night counterparts. Sometimes the food isn’t as great as other times. Sometimes there’s a long delay in waiting for food. Sometime’s they’re out of stuff and it’s what I wanted to order. Sometimes my steak is cooked wrong. But typically, I go in here knowing that I’m going to be in there for at least an hour if not longer. I’m okay with that because I am friendly with some of the waitresses and usually I bring a book or my laptop and tuck in for the wait. Wednesday’s I’m with a group of friends and we always have a good time so the time is passed without care. This isn’t the best restaurant in the world but it doesn’t claim to be, it’s a local neighborhood place where the food is average(but still good) and you can just hang out. It’s a great place to go just to wind down after work. And please note: Octavian makes the best steaks(never cooked wrong) and a peanut butter pie shake is literally the best thing in the world.

For those flying in and out of SeaTec, this is the closest Shari’s to the airport. I’ve made the drive here a few times when hit with the late night munchies. The service is fine. The staff is always friendly and the food remains below average, but there’s three reasons to come here: free wifi, pie and breakfast. I wouldn’t eat lunch or dinner here, but there’s nothing wrong with the breakfast, although it can be greasy, beware. Still, there’s an endless amount of combinations, all of which are cooked to order, affordable and edible. Meanwhile, the best reason to come here is for pie. There’s always many pies available. Slices are cheap and they taste good, every one of them. In fact, I normally order a hot chocolate with two pieces of pie. Try it, you’ll be happy you did.

I was really, really hangry when I walked in so was practically inclined to give this place 4 or 5 stars, but I realized my stomach grumbles gave me a bias after mulling it over a few days, and decided to settle with a 3 star rating. SETTING: Located right off exit 4 on i-405 in Renton, Shari’s is on par with a local version of a Denny’s or IHOP. The interior is unemotionally and unironically 80’s. They advertise specials like«Free Pie Wednesdays» on the windows and little cards on the table. The upholstery is reminiscent of a hospital waiting room. But, it is clean, well-lit, and by no means empty considering it was 10:30 am on a Wednesday when we came in. SERVICE: Our waitress seemed quaintly dinerish– like the way she asked us if we wanted to start our meal off with a champagne mimosa(lol) or how she did everything in a fast clip. She was friendly, humored our question about how you spell«omelette,» and the meal was well timed. When my mom went in to order several items a la carte, she pointed out one of the breakfast special combos which was more food for less money. FOOD: You can pretty much get whatever you want in the way of standard breakfast food – pancakes, bacon(including turkey bacon), omelettes, etc. I ordered the Spring Spinach Omelette and requested egg whites with hash browns and wheat toast on the side. I was pleased to see the omelette came out loaded with toppings(I mean just look at the picture!) with avocado slices and tomatoes neatly arranged on top. The hash brown portion was large, but were perfectly cooked, and the toast was fine, I didn’t finish it. My mom’s meal looked pretty standard with her pancakes and eggs, however she barely touched the turkey bacon complaining that it wasn’t good(I would have tried it myself, but I’m vegetarian). I was thoroughly satisfied by my meal; when I came in I was so hungry I couldn’t see straight. By the end my vision and judgement were back to normal. Everything about this experience was fine. Adding some charisma to the décor and maybe a couple of healthy options to the menu could go a long way in attracting some real foodies to the place.

I love Shari’s, so with heavy heart, I am giving them 3 stars. I ordered a salmon caesar salad. It is usually excellent, but the fish was rather beige and bland. The rest of the salad was drowning in dressing and it seemed like it was Italian dressing rather than Caesar. The service was great.

When we walked in there was a giant spider walking across the floor… should have turn and ran then. Both of us ordered breakfast, which amounted to $ 35. Are you kidding me??? The bacon was hard, chewy and just plain awful. The«stuffed» French toast had no sort of stuffing at all. The regular French toast and hash browns were the only good thing about the visit.
