Been to multiple BCDs multiple times specifically this BCD. This place is a little run down, but I still love it. Food is good. Service is fast, friendly, and attentive. The waitresses are always asking if refills are needed on the banchan. Water refilled almost always without asking. Nothing to complain about here.

My wife and I where looking for a good Korean soup and found this place. People there were friendly. The food was delicious and the side orders kept coming to our table. Prices are not too expensive and the food is fresh. I will definitely come back!

I come here once in awhile for the Soon Tofu. If not for that soup, I wouldn’t come here at all. Service is really bad. You wait at the door to be seated but no one is paying attention to you. You have to call the attention of a waiter for them to notice you. Got to find another place that serves Soon Tofu.

Disclaimer: I am not korean, or never been to South Korea. My opinion may or may not represent what the majority thinks. I am also not a professional food critic This is the place i usually go to for my typical korean food fix. I prefer this than the usual do-it-yourself BBQ places. Don’t know what to pick? Pick anything. Can’t go wrong with the soon tofu-soup combo with meat dish(beef, chicken or fish). I could eat it everyday. I recommend the bulgogi or galbi ribs. What makes korean food special is the extra small dishes such as fish cakes, pickled cabbage and cucumbers(kimchi), flavored bean sprouts etc. Every now and then i would order the jabjae(glass noodles). If you want something less«meaty» i would recommend the Bimbimbap combo. My friend is from South Korea, and she says it’s one of the favorites. Bimbimbap combo is basically a rice bowl with assorted ingredients(mushrooms, tofu or beef, carrots, bean sprouts). I like to extra condiments to it such as chili, fish cakes, kimchi, and even more bean sprouts! I’ve been to similar places all over los angeles(including korea town) and the bay area(sunnyvale-palo alto). In my opinion, I’d say BCD has the best bang for your buck — portionwise.

Their specialty is the tofu soup. Most of the bowls come with a meat as well, which is kind of funny since most tofu eaters probably don’t eat meat on the regular. I had the tofu with beef and kimchi. It had a nice little kick to it. We also had some short ribs and bulgogi, as well as fried fish to snack on(I believe it was mackerel but not really sure). The short ribs and bulgogi were both pretty standard, but that’s not to say that they weren’t delicious as well!

It’s kind of weird because this is the most run down BCD I have ever been to. The walls are brown and it looks like the décor is ever so lacking. I have been to several BCDs throughout Los Angeles and in Irvine. This past week was my first time at this location. As I walked in we were ushered into a side room, only to be rebuffed by someone else saying they need to bus the table first. So we waited. In comparison to the other BCDs this place does not look as modern and clean. The chopsticks and the spoon were set on the side of the table and the place mats(and menus) were placed with the napkins after we sat down. I would just like to add that this place is the only BCD I’ve been to that has wooden disposable chopsticks instead of metal ones. The reason why I’m giving this place a 5 star was because the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was so kind and was attentive to our needs. She refilled our banchan(side dishes) and gave us so much we couldn’t even finish it. The service was so phenomenal we actually gave a 28% tip. Yup.

3.5. My go to Korean bbq in the area since there aren’t much in the valley. Service is OK, repeatedly have to remind/call them over. Otherwise, love the all the tofu soups. Small dishes include bean sprouts, kimchi, spicy veggie, fish, and fish patty(eh). The main dishes and combos are big portions so I would recommend sharing those.

I always come back to this soon tofu place because it’s the closest from my house. I would come here more often if it was cheaper. Sure, side dishes, the soon dooboo, fish, and rice porridge at the end is a great deal for $ 10. However, it is so much cheaper to make at home. For under $ 5, you can make enough to feed 4 people. But I understand that most of BCD’s patrons are not Koreans and they don’t know how to make this dish. That being said, the soondooboo is decent tasting. The usual choices of meat, seafood, intestines, dumplings, etc., are available. Their kimchi is made fresh every day. The service is decent for a Korean restaurant.

Usually, there’s good service. However, today coming here for dinner with my mom, the servers were very rude and very impatient, even though we ordered two simple things. We wanted 1 Galbi combo(comes with Soon tofu) and just one without the soup. Once our food arrived, we only received one. We thought since they were busy, they were going to bring it out later. We finished it and still nothing so we just decided to go pay. The Galbi combo should only be $ 19.99(Beef entrée+ soup), but they charged us for the beef and the soup seperately(Beef 19.99, soup 9.95). They tried to talk to us like we were stupid and wouldn’t charge us the correct price. Not coming back again, I’ll just go to Korea Town next time. Gypped of 10 dollars.

Super surprised that I didn’t love this place. Tried it because BCD Wilshire is one of my most favorite places to eat — this was a totally different experience. This location was not busy — it was a Sunday afternoon around 1 p. m… the restaurant was dirty — dirty silverware, condiments on the table were also dirty. The food was hit and miss. Had the spicy pork(very good), pork soonduboo and raw crab. So much corn syrup on the raw crab — too sweet. Pan chan was just okay too. The upside was that the bill was just $ 50, and the service was great — SUPERFRIENDLY and AWESOME wait staff but they didn’t make up for the atmosphere and food. Honestly this location kind of grossed me out.

Been here twice because it’s closer than the k-town location, but honestly I’d rather spend the gas money to eat at the k-town location instead. The shop is dingy, but the woman who was working late on July 4th(I know I’m half a year late on the review here) was extremely friendly. Honestly there’s nothing wrong with the service. It’s typical Korean style service, and personally I prefer that. You call for the waiters attention and they bring you what you ask for. None of that phony, superficial crap. They’re here to do a job and get you what you need when you need it, not insincerely ask how everything tastes before you even had a chance to pick up your fork(or chopsticks and spoon in this case). But I still prefer the k-town location. It has more parking, although we’ve gotten a spot both times we came here. There might be additional street parking here though, I hadn’t checked. And the k-town restaurant is bigger, so there’s less wait when there’s a crowd and it doesn’t feel cramped or dirty(like when they wheel the bussed dirty dishes beside our table here). Plus, the k-town location gives you the stone pot rice when you order soup. This location may not have enough stone pots to do that, but both times we’ve had to ask for rice on the side when it should just come standard with the soup. For those reasons I docked stars. The reason I prefer BCD to other soondubu restaurants is because they have that delicious fish appetizer with the banchan. That alone is reason enough to visit here. Just for you unfamiliar with the cuisine, be wary of the bones in the fish appetizer. TL;dr food and service are great, but location, cleanliness, size, and parking suck.

3.5 stars. This is by far the smallest BCD I’d ever been to, in a tiny plaza tucked away on a small street. If you didn’t know it was there, you’d most likely miss it completely. However, there always seems to be a parking spot available and once you step in, it has all the comforts you expect from BCD. It’s small but I’ve never had to wait for a table. The servers all seem to be middle-aged Korean women aka ahjummas. I like it because they’re very down-to-earth and friendly. I also love that they think me speaking Korean is cute, hehe. The food is what you expect from BCD. Not the best quality but very solid, particularly considering this location is in the valley and not K-town or an area highly populated with Koreans. The service and food are consistently good. I’ve had different variations of soondubu(Korean tofu), including the seafood combo(clams, mussels, and shrimp), and #2 combo(kalbi aka Korean bbq beef, clams, and shrimp). I’ve shared the soondubu and kalbi(Korean bbq spare ribs) combo, which is about $ 20, and regular kalbi entrée at $ 20(but twice the portion) and soondubu(all varieties are about $ 10). I love that all entrees come with banchan(side dishes such as grilled mackerel, cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, bean sprouts, and Korean mashed potato salad), and rice. The kalbi is a bit on the fatty side but what do you expect, it’s not a Korean BBQ house. Otherwise, I always leave feeling full and perfectly satisfied.

This is my go-to soondooboo spot in the Valley. The food is consistently tasty and I’ve experienced nothing but decent service here. I have to give props to the ahjeemahs(older server ladies) for busting their asses and getting the food out in a timely manner. This restaurant can get busy especially during dinner time so I’m giving credit where it’s due. The servers might be a bit short with conversation but that’s just how Koreans are(LOL). I mostly order my soup to-go and I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes for it to be ready. My usual is the #23 Kimchi soondooboo with beef for $ 10.85 and holy crap it’s a ton of food. It is always packaged neatly with the fish, rice, and awesome banchan(side dishes). My cravings are always satisfied here! Another plus is that my mom told me they no longer use MSG like they used to back in the day. I definitely recommend this place if you’re a fan of Korean food.

Date: 10÷17÷15 @3PM. I’ve came here many times and stopped coming because of the service. This is my second times after recheck this place. I’m very happy and satisfied because they really did major changes on service. Food is always consistent that’s why I love this place. My orders are bulgogi&spicy bbq chicken with original beef tofu. I will definitely be back

Go for the food, not the service. Food is pretty good. Comparable to the BCD in K-Town, and the portions seem slightly larger. The service and ambiance however is not so great, but when was the last time you went to a Korean restaurant and got impeccable service? I don’t recommend this for a first date. It’s very hole-in-the-wall(not in a cool way). But if you are craving some tofu house and don’t want to drive all the way to K. Town. This place will do.

Out of habit, my first thought of where to get decent soon tofu was BCD. After the multiple times of poor service, degrading quality, and unpleasant experiences, I’m going to have to find a new place. My family went last night to catch up on our lives over good food. Instead, we get berated by the waitress like inconveniences for telling her that she brought out the wrong order. My sister is a vegetarian and clearly did not order the meat version. After that, they repeatedly would bring things out in a rushed manner and never gave my mom a chance to ask for condiments. After we expressed our issues with the service to a senior waitress, the lady we had issues with came to our table and bluntly asked if we had a problem with her. Great way to kill the mood. If you are ordering take out, it’s still a decent place albeit pricier than it was before. But be forewarned that service can leave your mouth sour after dinner.

I adore this place. I come here quite often. The tofu soup is great. You also get a great portion of side dishes. The only downside is that sometimes the soup can come out saltier than usual. This is pretty weird. Also, the service can lack at times and water is only served when requested. I love getting the beef soup. The seafood soup is good too but the shrimp in there tastes really bad. The soups come out boiling hot so be aware. Once the soup arrives. Immediately crack your egg inside the soup do that the egg cooks. The galbi is really good. If you’re really hungry, get the galbi dinner combination. You can get a meat dish with a smaller-sized tofu soup. You get to pick your spice level as well.

I was expecting more since it’s such a popular Korean restaurant. The store is kinda old and the food is just average. Service is great tho. Have some Vegetarian dishes

Best service ever! Tofu soup is on point, hit the spot and the bulgogi was seasoned perfectly. I usually go to Korea-town for this but man, I am coming here from now on. The food is on point and the service is waaaayyy better than K-town by a million. I love the nice lady who works here, she is the reason I will keep coming back.

Food isn’t bad but service is. When I paid the bill, I put a small amount of tips. And the lady said«you should tip at least 10%». I was like«excuse me?». I’ve my reasons to tip so little. And leaving tips is a manner, not a law. It is not a MUST to tip some certain amount. Today is my first and last time here. NEVER coming back again.
