I stayed there for 10 or 11 days. I give this four starts based on what you get for the price. Was the room small, yes. Was the mattress very firm, yes. But the room was clean, the staff friendly and any concerns I had were addressed by the manager. Given that most places in the area are at least $ 145 per night this place was fine. Luxury in the area would be more than double the price at the Extended Stay. I was pleased.

My husband and I recently relocated to the Northern Virginia area and stayed at the Extended Stay Reston while waiting to move into our new place. We picked it because they have a decently friendly pet policy(we have a 70 lb black lab mix) as compared to other places. Our room was fairly cramped with the queen bed, sofa, and kitchenette. Additionally, there were stains on the bedspread(blood?) and blanket. We only really used the fridge, as we did not cook anything while staying there. Be aware that there is a full size fridge, small-ish stove and oven, but NO microwave. Their on-the-go breakfast left a lot to be desired, but then again I suppose it is meant for business people or travellers, not as a filling breakfast. There is the William & Old Dominion trail entrance somewhat behind the hotel, a 40+ mile trail stretching much of NOVA. We walked to Reston Town Center for dinner and took our dog on walks along the trail while we were staying at the Extended Stay. It was nice to have access to the trail. Their«fitness center and pool» is actually the YMCA right next door — at check-in, they’ll give you a pass for as long as you’re staying. In general, the Extended Stay had friendly service and served our needs, but left a lot to be desired.

As others have said, it’s in a great location, but that’s about it. The room is tiny compared to what the pictures on the website show, feeling VERY cramped like a small dorm room. The mattress is incredibly hard and uncomfortable, and the«recliner» chair fits like it’s made for a child or very small adult(under 5’4″ tall), making it nearly impossible to stretch out on it and relax(the website shows chairs with ottomans, which would allow taller people the ability to adjust). I feel kind of ridiculous making that last statement because I’m only 5’11″, yet I feel like a giant in this room. The«updated» TV’s are old, crappy 720p flat screens with a VERY limited TV channel offering from DISHTV that are very low-bandwidth and don’t even display properly(almost all channels have a cropped picture, cutting the picture off so things like sports are very hard to watch). Don’t even get me started on the«free»(ad supported) Wi-Fi, which is WELL below par(even by low-rate hotel standards) and slower than the data speeds on my old 3G phone. Oh, and the«stove» is not the full size 4 burner unit they show in their literature, it’s more like a hotplate in the rooms in this location. If this place wasn’t $ 10 to $ 15 cheaper per night(on a monthly rate basis) than any place close by and money wasn’t such an issue while waiting for my first few paychecks during my first month in a new job back in this area, I would leave and go to just about any other place that had a room. Having traveled a great deal for a number of years, I can honestly say this is one of the lesser quality places where I’ve stayed, and what you get for the price isn’t a good value.

Its in great location. Decent room. The guy in the reception named Patrick, he was very Inattentive and rude. Very poor service. Dissapointed. Never coming back.

Great location. Good décor. Grab and go breakfast is OK. I’m not a fan of the tight hallways and stairwells. Price could be lower for what you get.
